The room that we occupied was full of bed bugs! Was too late when we found out about the bugs (which is on our second and last night). Maybe because we stayed longer inside the room on the second night. My daughter got bitten a lot and now enduring the consequences. It's all over her body! I am trying to reach the hotel but no one is answering yet. We checked out early on Saturday and no one was at the front desk yet. The hotel should check and replace all the infected mattresses. Will never come back to this hotel again. Below is the video I took when I raised the sheets!

The Utah is a cozy little hotel perched atop of the old Utah Saloon, which is a great venue for upcoming music artists to showcase their talent. The hotel itself is pretty barebones, almost rustic even. Not sure about all the other rooms but mine did not include a private bathroom. The shared bathroom/shower was clean and spacious, obviously remodeled. Overall the experience was worth the price paid.

Good music. Slow service. Warm beer.

Decent location. Close to giants stadium. Shared showers per floor… shared bathroom per floor… Some parts of room aged and dated. Awesome coin arcade bar downstairs though.

Cheap, convenient, easy to find. Was a good place to stay given the late night antics.

There is a bar downstairs so that was pretty convenient. It's right next to the freeway also so very quick to get to the East Bay or the South San Francisco. The hotel itself is nothing special. Definitely a last resort if there are no other hotels available. The one good thing is that it's a very cheap and they accept cash. Staff is subpar but to be expected for such a cheap cheap hotel.

Cool bar with lots of history. The open mic on Monday was awesome with great performers and just down to earth people. The host was fantastic as well keeping the energy going with his wise cracks and jokes. Not only that, he killed it when he performed too. Good stuff!

This is a very inconvenient hotel. Not so much as a lobby. Very old everything. Noisiest place I've ever stayed. No air. No bathroom except for public shared. Homeless scream all night and sleep all day.

The main staff dude was friendly and that is good enough for me…

Memories, alot has happened here for me. Always nice to visit a friend here.

There were bed bugs in the bed and the shared bathroom was caked with hair. Completely run down and horrible conditions. Do not stay there!

Very nice staff, good service and good food! I love the old time decor and it's great they have live music. It's a fun little place and a San Francisco traditional old school Saloon.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The room has no bathroom. Fine, you get what you pay for. The sink in the room didn't work at all. The room was tiny. The ceiling fan didn't work. The scanner on the door died, locking me out of my room until staff fixed it. It was infested with bedbugs and I have bites all over my torso. The shower didn't have hot water one day. Half the time, it smelled horrible in the halls. The one positive is that the staff was accommodating and polite.

The coolest joint South of Market… without a doubt! Give me more of that Rayosomusic.

Gross! The whole place stinks, there are holes in the bedroom walls, the TV does not work, and the manager seems to feel that it is perfectly acceptable to just open a guest's room door (without even knocking). Honestly, I would have been happier sleeping on a park bench. This place should be condemned by the city and shut down.

Little service, just to give you your keys. Separate bathrooms from the rooms. Separate parking left $36 at night. Smell in the hallways.

Right when we got there we came to the understanding that there was NO PARKING. So we had to pay an additional 15 for overnight which brings the total price for the night over 100. I think we got the room with a blood-like substance on some of the walls. It was not paint but I can't say that it was definitely blood. Room was quaint but got job done. Bathroom was gross and is shared with hall. Lastly, the man who checked us in knocked on our door an hour before we had to check out and he didn't realize it was our room. He opened the door and me and my girlfriend were naked… Its also pretty loud from traffic and the bar below. Could have been worse but if presented with the opportunity, we will not be staying there again.

Okay, there were bedbugs in the room. I got bumps all over on my arms and legs after I stayed one night in here. If you are willing to get sick, and bothered for more than 1 month. This is probably the perfect place to stay.

There is a security door to keep out the walking dead-esque mob of homeless people nearby. I managed to sneak past the mob to ring the buzzer on the door never to receive an answer. I immediately sprinted back to my car and attempted to cancel my reservation through Expedia. Expedia eventually got an answer from the manager who refused to refund my money. My bank disagreed. I hope the management of this hotel gets their genitals mangled in rusty farm equipment.

Best place in the city for raw live music! Great vibe and staff!

No. Just no. You might be better off sleeping in your car than staying at this place. No parking facility, stinky shared bathrooms, creaky beds — loud blaring music all night. This is straight out of a hell. Sleep on the streets than this hellhole.

If I could give this hotel negative stars I would. The beds were nasty, the walls had blood stains on them, you have to share a bathroom with everyone on the same floor as you. Our door was open when we got there, and if someone tried to get the door open they could have. Not in a safe area and not a safe hotel. Very nasty. We checked in and checked out and got our money back as soon as we could. Not recommended. Spend the extra $100 and stay at the Marriott.

Overall, the stay was ok. The hotel itself is not in the best condition and needs renovation badly. The walls are stained. Random things are broken. The room itself was small and basic. The TV didn't work, and a cabinet had a door that was about to fall off. With that said, it was the least expensive room, and within walking distance to AT&T Park. Parking is also an issue here. And there is construction 24 hours a day right outside your window. If you're looking to be frugal in a stay, this is a good place.

Bed bugs in our room. My girlfriend had bed bugs bites all over her body. We found several bed bugs in the bed. Had to dry clean all our clothes $$$. The rooms are fine, yet very dusty. You take your shower in a bath… which is weird. It's cheap but it's not worth it.

Adequate for the price and location. Dirty walls but clean floors and linens.

Shared bathrooms with the whole floor. Small beds. Well used hotel, words like rustic, charming come to mind. Would stay here again.

Loved the open mic night on Monday. A lot of fun. Stiff drinks cheap. My kind of dive bar.

Don't set your expectations high and you have an ok place to crash for the night.

The Hotel Utah Saloon has a psychotic African American doorman with dreadlocks named Rich. This person started screaming and yelling at me (I am a 61 year old woman) and threatening bodily harm because in his warped mind he thought I was being disrespectful to him. I wanted to eat with my husband who is in a band that was playing that night so we ate together and that's when this Rich went crazy and started yelling and threatening me. I felt unsafe in this establishment and was contemplating calling 911 for my own safety. I urge the owners of this place to fire this Rich guy before he causes the Hotel Utah to get sued with his psychotic behavior. Do not go to this place as it could be dangerous to your well being.

This is a budget, hostel-like accommodation with shared bath facilities, in a renovated but old building, so adjust your expectations accordingly while appreciating what you are paying to be this close to AT&T park and the Moscone Center. Score some free parking in one of the nearby alleyways and this is an unbeatable deal. I personally found it quite livable over a four night stay. Manager was friendly and helpful on check-in. Room was small, clean sheets but dirty bedspread and mattress pad. There will be street noise.

Very good location. Rooms are decent for the price. Didn't expect to have rooms cleaned so that was nice. Only problem I had was the doors not being able to close properly. You pretty much had to slam the door every time to properly close it and lock it.

Terrible. Got to my room and checked out 10 minutes later. No privacy and nasty dirty rooms. You have to share a bathroom/shower with every one else in the inn. Not even worth the cheap price.

Dumpy place with shared bathrooms (not always described as such) and no locks on the windows. Left without checking in.

Tiny. Dirty. Noisy. I would never stay here again.
