This place had very small rooms and uncomfortable beds. The front desk people where not the most friendly. The shower was not clean. Definitely have had better stays at other Hilton Hotels.

The Hampton Inn was a very nice and convenient Hotel to stay at. Minites away from. Where we attended a dinner banquet Saturday evening, & a short distance to the restaurant where we indulged in a wonderful Dim Sum before heading home this morning. 5*'s.

First time at this location. Photos on the website don't really give you a true description of what the neighborhood is like, so be aware of your surroundings. The valet was no where to be found so we kept driving around the block. We finally pulled in to a parking lot behind the hotel and walked. The room was nice and clean. Best part of the room was the shower! Bed was comfortable. TV volume is automatically set to a max point. Staff is friendly.

The elevators are dicey at times. The surrounding area is a bit sketchy. Be prepared for the smell of pot and piss when you step out the door. Do NOT turn left outside the back entrance. Only go toward Mint Plaza out the back. Facing Mission is the better access… fewer homeless people and better lighting. Rooms are clean and neat. The windows need washing.

I can’t believe the reviews I see posted here of this hotel. I will share the pros and cons of what you actually get for your money at this hotel. First Impression: Can I cancel my reservation? Although Bloomingdales is only a block away and The San Francisco Chronicle is across the street, the hotel rests on what looks like skid row. Inundated with addicts and homeless outside its doors, (front and back) The hotel offers no parking unless by valet. The valet parking area has a homeless camp against the fence and entrance. Valet parking is $60 per night. Inside: once inside you are transformed into another realm. Nice, friendly atmosphere. The staff is absolutely wonderful. We were helped by Cy and Terry, both are jewels in the embers. Hotel is pleasantly decorated. No complaints about the hotel itself. Rooms are okay, but a little small but that has to be expected in San Francisco. Funny tidbit: Everything is bolted down, including the sofa. Unfortunately, I couldn’t cancel and get a refund. I was told it wasn’t a good idea to leave my car parked on the street, which by the way was lined with overfilled garbage cans. Pros: Wonderful inside Cons: Horrible, unsafe location.

Love the hotel. Very clean! I love the size of room & bathroom. I also love their faucet/shower — both "conserving" water. Love the shower area + the lights by d sink. Location is also great. One thing that should be fixed are the elevators. They produce sounds each time they go up/down — anytime (day/night) and honestly scared me (at night). Sounds similar to horror movies.

What's good about staying at the Hampton is all the hotels are consistent. They are consistently clean, the staff is friendly, rooms are comfy, and the free breakfast is amazing. So no surprise that I once again enjoyed my stay at another Hampton Inn.

The area that the hotel is in seems like it is maybe a little bit rough at night, but I was in the hotel the whole time and the inside the facility is excellent. The rooms are laid out well, very clean, and attention to detail is paid to how they prepare for guests. Inside of the facility feels very new. They have a decent breakfast in the morning. They also provide snack and breakfast bags to go in the morning for guests.

The hotel is very nice. The room is pretty small, but the rest makes it up — huge bathroom, great service, good selection of food at the breakfast, nice rooftop area, free tea and coffe available around the clock in the lobby. It's close to the tourist attractions and shopping. The little street behind the hotel is shady with many homeless people, but you can easily avoid it. I really liked our stay here and would totally recommend.

The location has a lot of stuff going on. The room we stayed in (King w/ roll in shower) was BEAUTIFUL! Would definitely consider staying again!

I would have given it a better rating but at midnight someone outside of the hotel started banging on metal. I spoke with several other guests and they heard it as well. Beware of you are looking for a good night's sleep. The front desk said no one complained. Other employees acknowledged it happens a lot.

Gorgeous views, and when we told them we just married they upgraded us to a romantic room with a beautiful view. Lots of romance was had there. Definitely recommend this place.

One of me and my Partner’s favorites. Modern with a clever and unique detailed theme from interesting off-the-wall one liner phrases associated with photos to the hip design on the coffee sleeves. You’d think you were at some trendy advertising agency. Always comfortable, and generous with amenities. Rooms are often unique in layout. I’m always amazed at how well they account for space. For those who appreciate enough space for what you need, this is micro-living (hotel style) away from home. And this is a Hampton Inn so breakfast is on the hotel buffet style. Take in the 360 view on the rooftop during rooftop hours. Easy to get to, and to get from. We’ll be back for sure.

The hotel is located in the NEIGHBORHOOD of SOMA, close to various tourist destinations but also surrounded by homeless camps. The hotel and the bedroom are simple but clean. At night you can clearly listen to the music of a nearby club. The bedroom I stayed in was extremely small and I really wouldn't have been comfortable if I had stayed more than one night. The good thing is that they have free Wi-Fi and in the morning, breakfast.

Hotel was good,. Very handy to things and nice service. Without doubt a most confronting city to visit — never seen so many homeless and mentally ill on the streets. Not a good look.

Hotel with excellent location, 600 meters from union Square, although its rooms are very small, have an extremely spacious bathroom and is very quiet and clean.

Bad layout for the solution of problems x booking is offered level room with being which was not temporary to remove chair for the little space that had seen side to a wall cost of parking daily 60 s. At no time appeared the manager always raised an excuse in short bad experience.

Let people were very carinous and they took care of us well.

Although the hotel is in a self-described edgy area it is a high quality hotel. The room is NYC size (limited on space) but the quality of the materials make up for this. HVAC system works well. I was able to fit my 21 inch carry-on in the dresser drawer. There is also a closet. The pillows don't provide enough support. The public areas are very nice and the Wi-Fi works well. Staff is efficient and friendly.

My aunt and I stayed here last November 16-17, and we had a great time. It had less amenities than we had been used to, but that is to be expected of a lower-end Hilton hotel. Most of the photos I posted are of their free breakfast — by far my favorite part of the stay. Our concierge, CY was also very friendly and helpful. I just had to take one star away because the second night, our shower water was ice cold and it couldn’t get hot like the night before.

I gave it a 5 star for my late checking and the great customer service. The variety of breakfast and comfortable dining area. The gym is small but you can get it in lol… my overall my stay was awesome! Oh and the view from roof top I enjoyed my coffee ☕️

Newer hotel but typical Hampton Inn property. Rooms were clean. Staff was nice. The breakfast was typical of a Hampton Inn, but really really busy! It was in the basement of the building in a very small room. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is a bit questionable at night. Fortunately they have the need to use your room key to get in the elevator and hotel after a certain time in the evening. The host house staff very kind and helpful as best they can.

Everything is great except a few things: 1. Rooms are tight. Not much room, but hey, that's city living. 2. The restrooms in the lobby require a room key to open, which is good (no random bums can come in and use the restroom), also, the restrooms have a deadbolt with a sign that says LOCK FOR PRIVACY. However, when you use the room key, it unlocks the deadbolt! the deadbolt is effectively useless. Otherwise, great hotel.

Clean with modern room furnishings, good breakfast, 24/7 coffee bar, and lounge area. Very nice bathroom and comfy bed. Hotel is on the edge of a rough part of town, so be aware. About 2 blocks from the Convention Center. Room is insanely small considering the price — barely enough space for the bed and no desk. Expected more for the price. I know this is downtown SF, but dang.

The staff are friendly and the facility is clean. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is fine. My biggest complaint is that my room is tiny and has no desk or chair. They only provide a "lap desk" which is basically a small wood tray attached to a cushion.

Hotel was like new, clean, and well kept. Easy walk to shopping and Union square, as well as public transit to get anywhere else. Only negative was there was extremely loud music playing outside until 2 am on Friday night from a street festival on the Mint plaza. The next night you could hear the music from the club on Jessie. Bring ear plugs.

Hotel was nice and clean. Breakfast was good. Quiet hotel. Lost a star due to area it is in. Rougher area of the city. Would not feel comfortable walking alone, especially at night. Dirty and unsanitary streets. Local food is delicious, but there are much safer and nicer areas to stay in.

I really want to like this hotel but it's hard. The room itself is excellent. The bed is very cozy; the bathroom is nice; the shower has excellent water pressure. Room service not only acknowledges the do not disturb sign but they pick up the trash I leave out for them. Unfortunately there are some flaws both minor and major that have lowered my rating. First of all, the signage is really subtle and barely noticeable and the hotel is very hard to find. The layout of the lobby and check in area is a disaster. They do not have enough staff to handle the amount of people checking in. The layout makes it very confusing for customers to know how to line up. The employee was very confused and had to go back and forth with housekeeping to find an available room, even though I had done online check in. The breakfast was very unimpressive. They did not have sausage or bacon, and the milk was sour. There is a rooftop viewing area but it's closed on nights and weekends, greatly diminishing the value. To end on a picky note, the light fixtures by the elevator on floor 4 are covered in dust to the point of being clearly visible.

Great hotel near everything in the Union Square area. The room was on the smaller side. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and modern. The provided breakfast in the morning was excellent and a great plus for staying here. Big shoutout to the friendly staff members.

My husband and I were married the night before and decided to take a road trip up the coast from Monterey to San Francisco. We booked last minute on line, as we weren't sure when we'd stop. When we arrived we were greeted by a very pleasant man named Jamal at the hotel reception. He congratulated us and gave us bottles of water on entry and then offered to take us to a nice restaurant next door once we were settled in since we didn't have any plans. He was a wealth of information and we were very grateful for his recommendations. Our room was perfect, clean and spacious. Later, Jamal personally took us to the restaurant and introduced us to the owner and they gave us complimentary champagne! They accomadated us even tho the restaurant was full and we had no reservations on a Saturday night. Everyone was so friendly and generous! It really made our time so much more enjoyable! It's fantastic to see that there are still genuinely good people out there! Thank you!

Staff is great. Rooms are very small especially with king bed. Good location with central access in the city. Morning breakfast was adequate. Cost was better than other hotels in the same locale.

Rooms were small, but nice. We had issues checking in as our room was not ready at check in time which was frustrating after a long flight. Convenient to bus and rail stops. Bus stop near the front door is rough, so I would recommend coming in through the back every chance you have. Also be sure to check out the roof top for some incredible views of the city!

The rooms were a little too small for me but it was not tiny. The breakfast area was nice and had good food. The refrigerator in our room had a wide door so it was hard too close. The view from our room led to a dark hole. The terrace on top had a very good view of the city and had a picnic area to eat. Overall it was a good experience.

This Hotel has a great location, it's walking distance to the action. As long as, you aren't in an urgent rush for your room you'll get an awesome view! (I'd recommend waiting a couple of hours after check in, when more rooms are available). That was unfortunately the only draw back, we had a horrible view the first night, even though we had a premium room. Also, ask for a room that is further down the hallway, we were smack in the middle of the foyer and heard all the elevator traffic at all hours of the night. Despite all that, Free breakfast is a plus! The rooms were modern & fresh. I recommend staying here over the Hilton which was double what we paid at the Hampton, for the same general location!

Nice location near Market St. And other downtown places. Rooms are quaint, and breakfast is decent. Food trucks often stop by outside, do places to eat are great. Ther staff is great and very knowledgeable. Downtown does have a homeless problem, but they don't bother you. Definitely recommend this location for tour pickups and access.

The location of this hotel was convenient for what we were there for (Giants game. ) Check in staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms are modern and updated but very small. The walls are also thin as we could hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms as well as the halls of the entire floor. Trying to valet (and retrieve) the car was probably the most inconvenient part of the trip. There is no space out front to park (or even briefly double park) when checking in so we had to loop around until someone left. There is a back entrance where you pick the car up when checking out but no signage anywhere (that I saw) indicating you can drop off there as well. We were told to call down 10 minutes ahead for retrieval (which we did) and that the valet would meet us at the back entrance. We saw our car and stood out there for 20+ minutes when he finally came out and apologized because he didn't know we were waiting. I get that it's San Francisco, but $60 is steep for that kind of service.

It's located in an central location with eating, shopping and entertainment options. Hotel is clean, room is a tad bit small but it's updated. Breakfast is good and I love that it's included. Internet is performing as needed. Staff is great.

Great staff, bad location. If your staying on a Thursday — Sunday ask for a room away from the alley. There's a dance club next door.

Valet parking is behind the hotel, $60 parking! Breakfest was not good (eggs and sausage). Both items took a while, I had to literally wait because everyone else was asking me if they would bring out more. The carpet on the 10th floor was not tasteful, remodel needed. Staff was great, they don't look happy, not excited about working at this hotel. Would not recommend to family and friends, would also not return.

The room was nice and we were fortunate to have a view facing the street. The price of parking was outrageous (over $60 for a single night). The hotel breakfast left much to be desired. Plastic ware seemed to be in short supply and food was slow to be replenished in the serving dishes leaving several people at a time waiting in a room that was cramped to begin with.

Services were great and the staff were very helpful; potential guests should be aware that there is no pool or hot tub. The website is misleading on if they do or don't have one.

Had a wonderful stay for a week at the Hampton Inn, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit smaller but more than manageable, the bathroom was large and very nicely decorated. Breakfast had a variety of options and the staff working there were friendly. I will be staying there again!

Good. Renovated room. Bad. Located1 /2 block from homeless area. Bath spout wouldn't stay on so couldnt take shower. High pitched noise (bout air conditioning) in room was very annoying. Pull out sofa bed was very soft and springy.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Hampton Inn. They definitely had the best rate in that area. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the Powell BART station which is very convenient getting to and from the airport. The rooms are a little on the small side but manageable. The staff was very friendly and kind. I also would like to single out one employee, Daniel. He went above and beyond to make sure that we knew where everything was in the city, recommended some excellent restaurants, and made sure that our stay in San Francisco was great. I would give Daniel 6 stars. I highly recommend this hotel and I commend Daniel for a job well done.

New hotel and nice until the club next door starts playing head banging music till 230 am and not even the dead could sleep with this racket. Two nights in a row and I asked for a quiet room Too bad because otherwise it's a nice property But if you need to sleep, go elsewhere!

The rooms were small but very comfortable and clean. The staff was efficient and very pleasant. My overall experience in the hotel was fantastic. The only downside was the vagrant population in the area and the difficulty finding parking since the hotel does not provide it. I do not think the rate was just considering the location and parking issues.
