Honestly one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. Location puts you walking distance to everything. Off street parking, microwave and fridge Very clean! I highly recommend the Castle Inn.

Huge plus that they have their own internal parking (entrance to the parking lot is free, but on the windshield you have to put a ticket (issued on reception)
The whole street at the hotel is goulash with a lot of excellent restaurants, youth bars, live music.

Thoroughly enjoyed this little gem while in San Francisco. Got a great price, free parking, the rooms are updated and nice & the beds were so comfortable! The gentlemen at the front desk was really friendly & helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone who does not need all the corporate bells and whistles! This was a cozy stay! Great location too!

Although the people up front are extremely nice and helpful you couldn't pay me to stay here again. 1st we heard the construction ALL night. That is not their fault, however being given a heads up would have been nice. 2nd, the elevator was hit and miss. It hasnt been inspected since 2016 according to the paper. As we checked out it would not work. We had to haul 4 days of luggage down all the stairs. 3rd, the pillows felt like they are 100 years old, one was not a pillow but a foam block. They do not have any extras. 4th, the sheets were dingy yellow. Looks like they never use bleach. 5th the room had a musty gross odor despite them leaving the window open. We had to go get air fresheners at Walgreens. So my 2 stars are only because of how nice the front desk people are.

It was so much nicer than what I had expected. Service was great as well, very friendly staff. The only thing that wasn't as great was the parking, but at least they had parking, if you have a larger "taller" vehicle there really is only one spot to park in.

Excellent value for money, room impeccable level hygiene and quality equipments. Welcome, services and information provided worthy of a 4-star.

Impeccable! Very well located. Very clean. We walked to all the sites of interest. It has a kitchenette and a Walgreens on the corner plus several places to eat. Highly recommended.

The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, the Wi-Fi is free and very fast, it also has a roofed parking lot.

This is a clean, budget hotel. It has on-site free parking. Conveniently located to public transportation. There is a microwave and a coffee pot in the unit. We had a room with two queen size beds and this space was a little bit tight. In the office, hot water is available throughout the day and you can make instant coffee &/or hot chocolate. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

I stayed at the Castle Inn to attend a conference in San Francisco. The room was nice, clean and spacious, the receptionist very kind and he provided me with all the information I needed for my stay about the city. On my last day he was so kind to store my luggage during the day, so I did not needed to carry it al the day with me. Thumbs up!

Nice, renovated room! We were allowed to check in in the morning and park our car completely both days.

The area is quiet, perfect, local public transport a short walk away.
I didn't like the cleaning. I can say, "I'm not going to do that. " Important breakfast. Buffet, you took everything you liked. Then there's the private bathroom. To be appreciated.

This place is a steal. GREAT location — good part of town and within walking distance from the Wharf, Chinatown, etc. Free parking but I wouldn't recommend trying to bring a large SUV — spaces are very tight. Room we stayed in was updated and very nice & had a great view of the city!

For the price, I was expecting kind of a ratty room. But it was clean and spacious. There were plenty of cable channels and free Wi-Fi. Best of all there was free parking! There was a complimentary breakfast bar that included, coffee, juice, oranges, pastries, granola bars, instant oatmeal, and yogurt. It was in a nice little neighborhood and was a 15 minute walk to the piers and Chinatown. I would happily stay here again the next time I visit.

Some hyper-comfy litters. From the outside it doesn't look as nice as the rooms are. The employee is not very friendly but if very friendly. Easy access. It is at the apex of the typical neighborhoods to visit both on foot and by car. It has free parking and good wi Fi signal.

Great place! The owner and staff are amazing. Free parking. New comfortable beds and a Continental breakfast of yummy fruit, danishes, cereal, coffee and more. Located in a safe area close to everything from Walgreens to an assortment of restaurants, all within a few minutes walk. Our choice to stay when we visit San Francisco!

Affordable accommodation. Carpark challenging. Limited breakfast. Room space is good. Stay for 4.2 queen beds 1 toilet.

Super well placed clean Parking rooms on site quite expensive but not too much for San Francisco super advice and welcome from Marshall the type of reception that looks like Gandalf and has the voice of Lee Marvin in 3 min with a pen and a card it will trace the points to V and avoid.
With humor in addition to anecdotal breakfast.

Staff very helpful! Breakfast was fine. Parking lots are difficult to maneuver in. Good area with local restaurants nearby. Room very nice, but walls could have used some pictures. Liked the microwave and refrigerator in room.

This place is like a little gem inside of San Fran. Damon was so helpful with all our questions. The bed was fanominal, comfiest bed ever! Rooms was big. Within walking distance to Fishermans Warf and Chinatown. And on site parking was a plus! Great little place!

We chose that accommodation very short term for a trip to SF from L. A. Fortunately we found two rooms (1 king size and one with 2 queen size beds) right at the time we needed. The rooms are clean, not smelling, everything one needs for a short rest is given. A small microwave oven, a coffee maker, a good working not to small fridge, hair dryer are given. One star less because the TV in one room didn't work. The service was very kind. We could leave our car right at the building, for free. The hotel is right there in the vicinity of those popular wharf's. (Pier 39-41). So my recommendation is given for a short stay in SF.

This is a great hotel! It's very clean and within walking distance to the best spots. There's plenty of restaurants right around the corner. The room was very spacious and in a great location for what you pay. The decor is a bit dated but I don't think that's an issue. The staff was also very nice! Parking lots are tight but it's rare to find free parking. It could be a little loud during the day depending on where your room is, but I never had a hard time sleeping. Overall I was very happy with my stay, would stay again if in the Bay Area!

We scored with finding and staying at the Castle Inn. We stayed 2 nights and with free parking we were very pleased. Continental breakfast included. Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf. Uphill on the way back was perfect after all the chocolate and ice cream at Ghirardelli Square down the street. Damon was working the front desk the entire time we were there and is very knowledgeable and happy to explain how to get to different locations etc. The 3rd floor room was comfortable and we had a cool view just over roof tops. Perfect place to crash after a long day of touring the city. I would highly recommend the Castle Inn.

Good price in a nice location close to all of the main areas of San Francisco. The room is nothing fancy, outdated and bit weird smelling, but it gave us a place to sleep in a good area. The free coffee is nice and we were helped when we needed it. I'd recommend staying here as long as you're not expecting a high class hotel. Good service!

Hotel you average caliber at average cost. Good location for easy walking or with a few stops of means the most famous locations.

Quiet place not far from the port.

Good, clean, safe place. A little small, and somesome road noise, also a little outdated. Not too bad overall.

Great location. Near food and several coffee shops, Peets, Starbucks & independents, on Polk. On the other side of Broadway tunnel from Chinatown. And a nice Walgreens Pharmacy with travel essentials, snacks & beverages is only half a block away.

Great location, clean rooms and friendly personal. I just missed the included breakfast, that only had been some bars and coffee. But there is a great diner across the street so don't worry about getting hungry! I'd stay here again.

Don't stay here if you don't want some thieves break into your car. The parking lot is far from what staff can take care of and look closely in case of bad situations like robberies or theft. Parking lot light is too dim and the camera there is of poor resolution so even if it is caught on the camera there is nothing the police or staff can do about it.

Very clean and safe place to stay. No bed bugs or roaches. I would stay here again. You also get free parking. The staff were awesome. Thanks keep up the good work.

Great hotel. Great price. We stayed in a suite room. It was classic. Looked like it was stuck in the 70's. Nice spot with some good places to eat in a 3-5 block range. Not a bad walk to the wharf either. Staff was great.

Castle Inn more than enough to stay and relax comfortably if we visited San Francisco. It is clean, friendly and good.
It is an excellent choice for travelers who do not die by a luxurious lodging.

Amazing stay — worth each penny.

Friendly, attentive staff and newly refurbished rooms and we stay here frequently. And, what a bonus to have "free parking" in the city! Plus, our favorite restaurant The Blue Barn on Polk Street is just around the corner! A definite win-win for us.

Checked in last night. Great price for the area. They gave us a newly renovated room and it was perfect. Clean room. Slept like a baby. We didn't hear any outside noise. Great customer service. Definitely coming back again. No Cons at all.

FANTASTIC hotel for the price! close to everything. We walked everywhere and the rooms were clean and large for my family of 4. (Myself and 3 teenagers. ) Can't beat free parking in this area! Breakfast was a treat! Close to Walgreens and a tasty bakery. I will DEFFINITELY stay here again! Staff was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and helpful.

Fantastic location, not so fantastic room. Doors sticky, wouldn't open and close easily, room smelled a little musty, parking was free but a challenge to get in and out of cramped parking spaces. Personnel friendly. Forget the TV, bring your iPad and Netflix.

We stayed two nights and really liked the location (easy to walk pretty much anywhere from there — Marina, down town, china town, etc). Paid $190 per night which we thought was OK when compared with other offers in town. Depending on the price we would stay there again. Beds OK although little soft, rooms were clean and fairly quiet, bathroom was nice and staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking was a nice perk too.

Good value 129 b 4 tax. Roomy accommodation with free parking and breakfast. Let us park all day next day when we went to Alcatraz — that is very kind. Wifi sucked but Comcast cable was great. Will definitely return. Pics are accurate.

Very clean facility and good staff. I enjoyed my stay and the staff even offerred me a breakfast snack when I missed their continental breakfast! Talk about going above and beyond! I definitely recommend Castle Inn.

Quite an experience. Booked this one online and had no idea what to expect. Pros: Room comes with fridge, microwave and TV, free parking, prices were just okay, staff very friendly (however quirky), beds are quite comfortable. Cons: TV didn't work, microwave took up most of the table (rendering it near useless), shower was difficult to operate (hope I'm not alone here) and, the heater is hidden below another table. If that doesn't get any worse, the so called included breakfast is non existent, and you have to carry it back to your room. To add to all this, as I arrived I was told that I was only charged for half the stay and that we would have to pay the rest. Looked at my bank statement to find that they were mistaken. The money remained held on our account for the entire stay. Just great. Not recommended.
