Just a heads up about Some of the Front Desk staff! Asian Female named Eliza was very snarky and DISRESPECTFUL to my husband and me this weekend June 17-19; from 3pm Saturday to 12 noon Sunday there was no housekeeping! Took us all day Saturday to get fresh towels, btw! Just not very professional and there was some blatant RACIAL PROFILING! Totally UNACCEPTABLE! We spent a pretty penny while there and had a great time anyway! This female ought not to be in the hospitality industry at All!

Good rooms friendly employees clean rooms i would differently come back here with family thanks for ur hospitality.

Great service great food but be careful with the ticket check every item on it try to make us pay for 3 item that we donot consume it will be an error if will be 1 but 2 or 3 I do not beleve plus they charge 10 dollars per person if we want to eat close we think it was per ticket no it was per person so be carefull with these guys we never come back I expect for the money we pay $400dollars some respect nobydy say nothing so behave.

Excellent service from arrival.

Room and bathroom was very clean, not a King size bed that we wanted but very comfortable. Staff was excellent, very helpful, courteous and resourceful. Check-in was fast and painless.

Beautiful spacious room, nice kitchenette area. Staff was excellent and very friendly and made us feel comfortable. I just wished the rooftop terrace and hot tub was open.

The staff, from bell service, housekeeping, desk personnel etc. Are excellent. Location is excellent! Biggest problem… it is extremely noisy, and I mean all night long! Wear earplugs!

Spacious, comfortable, clean rooms! The staff was friendly and the rooftop lounge area with complimentary coffee, tea, & hot cocoa was very cozy. No laundry service but that just pushed us to venture out and explore only to end up doing our laundry at the wonderful TL Cafe.

We always enjoy our stay at the Donatello. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The staff, every single one, are amazing! They are located near Union square. I would highly recommend staying at the Donatello. You will not be disappointed.

Full disclosure. I stay here as a Wyndham timeshare guest. We stay here at least once a year and enjoy it very much. This year we stayed in a renovated room, and it looks fantastic. It's bigger and fancier. There is a gym and the rooftop view is nice for being surrounded by other buildings. The room service is good if not a little pricey. But the restaurant is pretty upscale. We would recommend this place for anyone.

I've stayed here perhaps five times. Great location. Rooms are lovely and decently sized. On the very top floor there is an inviting living room where you can have coffee and tea all day long and hang out with your laptop or just go out on the patio and get some fresh air and look out at the city. Wine and cheese served there at times throughout the week. There is a concierge in house.

Outstanding value for money, didn't expect this hotel to be as good as it was. Rooms were huge very clean, beds were so comfortable even the pull out bed had a proper mattress. Staff were very professional and helpful. Large flat screen TV, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, hairdryer, iron, plenty of fresh towels. The shower was very fancy and huge. The room I had was for 3 of us we had so much room. We used the gym and jacuzzi, yes they are small but done the job, plenty of extra towels in the spa section if required. Private parking available, 24hrs for $35. They also kept our bags for the day free of charge. Location is perfect 2 min walk to Union square. I read so many different reviews about this hotel prior to booking some good and some bad, but 100% I would recommend this premises. I was very impressed, great value for money.

The jazz brunch is a pretty nice way to start a nice weekend morning here in the city. Food was very good as was the service. Blackberry mimosa very nice. Ribs with polenta excellent. I wish that they had more breakfast options instead of the dinner options for brunch though. Limoncello pancakes very good, but once the whipped cream was gone they became somewhat dry. They had Olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table but I noted there was no salt or pepper. They brought catch up for the burger and fries, but no butter or syrup for the pancakes. The Omelette was excellent but again somewhat dry. The Live music was really wonderful, and not at all cheesy or overwhelming, just piano and guitar with no vocals.

Location is great. Right downtown. Hotel service was amazing room was fantastic. Will definitely stay here again. Live jazz in restaurant was great.

The hotel is nice but was a nightmare (or daymore) because of the construction noise during our stay. The staff were very pleasant and plenty of coffee to be had in the Clubhouse. The location was perfect for Union Square! A trolley ride was one block away that takes you to Fisherman's Wharf. The room was average and there was no balcony to bring in the fresh air.

Centrally located. Five stars for staffs. Very loud during the day (apparently renovating). Coffee/tea on club level is nice.

Wonderful lobby to welcome you. Good gym with sauna and jacuzzi. Nice rooms with plenty of space and modern amenities including DVD player, mini kitchen (no cooktop/oven) and full size couch. Mezzanine restaurant noise from music/patrons sometimes makes the lobby difficult to enjoy while waiting on a ride, etc. Overall, a great experience and I would stay again.

A basic hotel that tries to make itself seem fancy. They had construction going on one floor above us that started every morning at 8 am. The Club upstairs is an okay place to hang out, with some tea and coffee but nothing too fancy.

Great location, and the staff was superb. Only complaint would be the persistence to listen to the timeshare offer. We refused, but at how it might be appealing to some.

Got there straight after a 13 hour flight, the staff members were friendly enough but gave us a pitch on how to "better book hotels with them and save money" which was actually a pitch for a timeshare. They did however compensate us with tickets for the tour bus for San Francisco. However being upfront and telling the truth would have been nice. The room was nice enough. Although it did have bed bugs. There were also a few other small issues such as the show flooded no matter how much you tried to stop it from doing so. There was also no option to allow you to boil water, only a coffee machine. So if you are a tea drinker you are you of luck. As renovations were happening (which we were not made aware of at the time of booking, nor told at check in) there was also noise at all times of the day and night. The location is good and close to Union Square and public transport. As with the rest of San Francisco there are alot of homeless people around the area but generally not directly outside the hotel.

Ideal location, close to all public transportation, one block from cable car line. The spacious rooms, on-site restaurant, friendly, helpful staff, and the amenities make the Donatello the perfect place to stay.

The hotel is very good and its location. The downside is that the attendants are not interested in serving their role but sell you timeshare or similar called Wyndham Club and surely charge Commission.
They are very insistent with that.

The room is very spacious and quite modern. The rooftop lounge is a nice place to relax, drink some coffee or tea, and see the view of the city. The hotel staff are helpful and nice.

Very close to Union square, it's a good place to visit downtown San Francisco. The hot tub is great, the beds are nice and the room was big. Definitively a good place, but comes with a price.

Hotel with many amenities very close to union Square. It has valet parking. I still don't know how much that service is going to cost me.

Rooms are very nice & modern. My bathroom had a t. V in it. Staff was exceptional!. I told front desk we were celebrating my son's birthday and they sent up complimentary chocolate and champagne. Location was perfect & close to everything. I would stay again and recommend to all friends/family.

Stayed here years ago before the remodeling. I liked it then but it's really impressive now that they updated everything. The rooms are very nice and spacious. Nothing but positive interactions with the staff and house keeping is quick to help with whatever needs you might have.

Staff is friendly. The rooms are clean, spacious and becoming more modern. The view from the Club floor is amazing. It's open so there is fresh air up there. They have complimentary teas and coffee. The spa area is co-op. The spa was warm not hot for my temperature. It's a really cool looking space where the spa is. The walls are mirrors.

Thank God Peter is gone, horrible concierge there, along with Chris. These two were like dumb and dumber. Club was garbage when I was there as a patron. I am happy they fired some of the front staff members, like Bobby and some others, its not a place as a guest I would go back to. Good riddens the trash has been taken out.

Rooms were wonderfully comfortable and the service was great. We enjoyed our stay here immensely.

Very large room, decent facilities, but a bit old. Lighting is a little dim, and since its near the city center it does get a little noisy on the lower floors. Still a decent stay with a nice hot tub and free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

It's close to Union Square. The staffs are nice and helpful. The valet parking service is not good with only one person at the table and you usually have to wait for 15 minutes before getting the car in the middle of the morning. The hotel room is normal and a bit outdated. There is a club on the top floor with complementary coffee, tea, and chocolate but no water. The fitness center is small but the coed jacuzzi is a nice addition.

The rooms are nice for San Francisco. It has interesting amenities like a TV in the bathroom mirror. The hot tub is a bit of a joke it only seats 3 people. It's in a great location.

The hotel is lovely and the service is great. Upon arriving, it was my partner's birthday so the staff gifted a very nice (very expensive) bottle of wine to celebrate. They also helped us book Alcatraz tickets, stored our bikes for a short period of time and some of the staff learned our names and genuinely seemed to care about how we were doing and what we had planned for the day. Great location too. Took the BART to and from the airport with minimal walking from the nearest stop.

Great hotel, staff are super friendly and helpful, lovely rooms, the facilities available to guests is great and it's a stone's throw away from union square. Would highly recommend.

Great rooms, nice kitchenettes and staff was friendly. The windows seem like they aren't sealed around the edges and let in street noise, bring earplugs even on the 11 floor. Also warning about the timeshare trap. We got a gift card but had to listen to thier spiel for almost 2hrs.
On our last day the power went out and the staff was great with helping the elderly getting down the stairs with flashlights. Great location close to everything. Had a good time enjoying San Francisco.

The room has nice enough amenities. Recently remodeled with a comfortable bed. It was tastefully decorated, and has all the stuff you expect — hair dryer, coffee pot, mini kitchenette. The big surprise was the television built into the bathroom mirror. I have never seen anything like that and it was fun. There is no pool and the jacuzzi is the tiniest I have ever seen I a hotel, with a capacity of 3. Breakfast is only available on the property via room service, which we didn't use. Staff is friendly enough. If you need to go to SF for a reason, this is a good place to stay, and it's a good place to buy into as a timeshare, if you like SF. We just don't find SF a place we'd visit often, once or twice is enough, as it's kinda like NYC on a hill.

Gorgeous and spacious room reservation for 4 with two huge beds, convenient location for whatever.

Lovely room with the expected amenities. The street could get a bit loud but that's the city for ya. Walls seem thin, but I never heard our neighbors so maybe not. The club upstairs was a nice bonus, though I only really ised it for coffee and the view. All in all a great experience. And the mirror had a TV in it, which was novel.

My favorite hotel by far. I've stayed there well over three weeks over 5-6 trips. Big rooms. Friendly staff. Clean and always on point. My only gripe is that it's barely ever available.

It was our first time staying at this hotel, we were in town for a friend's wedding and decided to stay 4 nights. We are a couple in our mid 30s and experienced a really awkward moment because of our age and my ethnicity (my gf is white and I'm Spanish). When we arrived we were coerced into attenting some marketing pitch on our last day there (we were just trying to check in, who expects a sales pitch upon checking into a room you've already paid for?! ) we got numerous phone calls (about 4-5) and even a typed letter about attending their pitch to sell us timeshares. A bit excessive I think. We made the mistake of agreeing to attend during check in and they charged $20 to my credit card (which they would later release). I went down the last day to attend their sales pitch, the older (60s) white gentleman that I was meeting with was clearly shocked that I (a hispanic millennial) would be attending his sales pitch. The group was full of white couples in their 60s-70s… it was a timeshare pitch and I was not worth their time or energy. Quite frankly, If I didn't fit your profile maybe the sales team should have not bothered spending all that energy into making us attend. I was pulled out before the meeting began and was told that because my girlfriend was not a attending that I wouldn't be allowed to be part of the pitch. The young lady at the front desk apologized and I was not really bothered by it. I simply went back up to my room.

Hotel location is ideal, only a few minutes ' walk from Union Square. Hotel looks old and feeling in need of renovation, especially the reception would change too. However, the room was large, the bed was very comfortable. As a United States hotel, Wi-Fi here soon, is a place of innovation. Should be coming. Front desk staff very helpful and attentive.

Comes with a big, wall-mounted TV (with DVD), minibar/microwave/fridge/sink, sitting area (couch with ottomans), office area, big windows with a beautiful view (especially if you're in a corner room), robe, bathroom phone (both are cordless), and behind-mirror bathroom TV. There's a lounge area on the top floor (fifteenth) and a restaurant that occupies the second which also services the rooms. There's a beautiful drive up/valet area. There's a bike-rental place connected to the hotel. You're five-minutes from Chinatown and ten from the Fisherman's Wharf. My (only) three problems are that the wireless is so slow that it's completely useless, the satellite TV takes a while to tune the channels, there's no guide channel/screen to speak of in order to know what's on, any channel that has quick movement shows an incomprehensible mess, the DVD has no remote, and the bathroom TV just receives over-the-air-programming. So, if you need to do work or entertain yourself in the room via the TV, you'll be resentfully disappointed.

The Donatello has an ideal location, just a block away from union square and really good service and cleanlines. A stay here is quite pleasant. However, dont even think you will be able to work here if needed. Their supposed high speed internet is a joke. It is horribly slow and unfit for even light use. Being San Francisco, the tech capital of the world I find this inexcusable.

Great location and safe. Bathroom needs updating and staff needs to be a little quicker on responding to needs, but overall decent. Don't put your room key in your pocket with your phone… I swear even a small fart would de-magnetize the damn things.

We were in town for a company party and thought it would be a great idea to start the weekend. We stayed at the Donatello and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was friendly and the rooms were great. We didn't stay long enough for room service or the restaurant but the menu looked delicious. The hot tub was great to wind down after walking around town doing some shopping. It's close to the cable car and Westerfield Mall. We will definitely be going again.

Very nice location close to Union Square. The staff is nice and the rooms are very lux for the price. A very beautiful bar and restaurant. Would visit again.

The hotel staffs are very friendly. The room has a kitchen and very clean. The only downside is when I stayed there, one of the two elevators is not in service so sometimes I have to wait a long time to use it. Around the hotel, you can find a lot of good restaurants with different kinds of food. This hotel is just one block away from Union Square.

Excellent hotel, location is fab, rooms are fantastic size. Staff are the best part, really friendly and helpful would never stay anywhere else in San Francisco! My only point is that it would be made better if they did breakfast on sight like a buffet style, as oppose to their room service breakfast.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and nice. I love the modern look. We stayed here through our timeshare and the only setback was they didn't clean the room the entire week and we had to pay for parking even though we were guest. I guess that is standard in SF when you are staying as a timeshare owner. Otherwise really nice place, I would recommend it for location and price.

The staff of Club Donatello was amazing. I rented out the terrace room for a birthday party and I was blown away by the service and the overall experience. The valet helped me unload everything (and it was a lot) from my car to bring directly to the 5th floor terrace room. The room was perfect for a surprise party. Double doors that lead to the room, a kitchen with a fridge and sink, personal restrooms, etc. Every person I dealt with from the managers to the valet to the front desk was beyond helpful and accommodating. Not to mention the location is perfect. It's just a block from the center of Union Square so there are garages all over the place. Great service from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay, was very pleased with the room. I am very paronoid when traveling about cleanliness and I was very pleased with the Donatello. The rooms were clean and modern and the hotel staff was alway helpful. The Resturant on the premises was nice and convenient on a couple of occassions, does have "intertainment. " The location of the Donatello was great with a lot of "locals" and a short walk or ride to the wharf and other attractions.

Everyone at the hotel was helpful and I was concerned because of pervious reviews but I was never bothered to attend a class for timeshares. The rooms were BIG which was a plus and everything was clean. They have a club on the top floor which is nice. Overall nice hotel, happy with my stay there.

It costs a bit, but it's close to downtown, and is of a high standard throughout. 785 $ 4 nights from 26/12 to 12/30/2012 for a 4 people.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and thought it would be so fun to come back for our 20 year anniversary, What a regret. It has been sold to Wyndam timeshares and they were relentless in their sales pitch of wanting us to attend a meeting, even though the sales gal. Pam was very nice. Still they woke us every morning with multiple 8:30am phone calls, even on Valentines day, bugging us in the lobby, leaving notes on our doors and in other words being so pushy we ended up leaving early. And in our three day stay they did not clean our room once, yet on the day we were trying to leave, housekeeping barged in twice while we were still in there. The room was beautiful, roomy and recently remodeled, however the bathrooms were in pretty bad shape.

Very well located, they take the breakfast room. As paste the parking was a little expensive, but is a hotel that would return.

When my family checked in on our first day with Hotel Donatello, services were superb and the Wi-Fi was working great. On the second day, 30 May 2014, we were invited to attend a presentation for a time share. The lady (with British accent) in charge of selling the time share was condescending and nasty but we still remained professional and respectful, though she was not. We did not buy any timshare that day. Our Wi-FI became became so slow from then on. I don't know if we were flagged after our failure to buy a time share.

Loved this beautiful hotel! The rooms were beautiful, the staff was so friendly and helpful and fun to be around. The gentleman with the suggestions of where to site see was spot on! The staff behind the front counter was awesome and very friendly. Next time I'm in San Fran-I'll definitely be staying here! Thank you.

The hotel is wonderful, the restaurant is not. Good food but poor service. With reservations, after waiting, we were seated in a corner of a room and greeted by our waiter. We selected a bottle of wine and ordered our meal. The food was good, not great. Just before being served a large party was seated next to us and extending down the length of the room. At this point we were forgotten by our waiter and to add to the ambiance, the party was loud and obnoxious. We asked to be moved but the maitre d' wouldn't do it. In a pinch I may use the restaurant again. Now for a good recommendation: Breakfast at SEARS, only one block away and for a good supper, The Four Seas in Chinatown (Asian cuisine).
