I stayed at the Adrian hotel and I just wanted to review that I had a great experience here. The staff has been absolutely wonderful. Although the neighborhood is troubled, it appears that they're trying their best to make it asan enjoyable experiences as a possible.

The new management is amazing and was able to help out with everything that we needed. Its also clear that improving the building and experience is a priority, just in the few days that we were there the building received little updates (like new bedding) that made the entire stay feel more homey. I would highly recommend staying here again.

Steer clear! I made the mistake of disregarding the negative reviews and stayed anyways. The room offers no air conditioning. It was September and fairly cool weather. The room was sweltering and just about unbearable. The real kicker was the bedbugs! Unless you want to take a cringy creature home, I would not book here.

This place sucks I went to visit someone there the room was so little if you put your arms up and turned in a circle you could almost touch every wall. And they have bed bugs in every single room my friend has been moved to at least three different rooms which all were Matchbox tiny. They try to paint it and put like some cabinets but it still doesn't change the fact that it's like 5 x 6 anyway wouldn't suggest moving there.

This place doesn't even deserve a star… This place needs to be shut down immediately. Booked with them and arrived from 3 hrs away just to be told they overbooked and that we'd be better off going somewhere else because the room had bedbugs anyways… so unprofessional, disgusting, despicable and bum ridden… These place needs to be condemned.

Bugs! The biggest minus of this hotel is the bedbugs!
By location The hotel is close to the center, but on the way to it will need to overcome a couple of blocks filled with homeless, and if the day is not scary, the evening is not pleasant.

The GM Jesus Hernandez — the love handled, frosty tipped guy with the attitude of a 16 year old girl working at McDonald’s. Although that may be an insult to all 16 year old girls working at McDonald’s with a bad attitude because at least they’ll do something about getting your order wrong or giving you a refund. Unless you like bed bugs and sharing a half way house with crack heads, Do yourself a favour spend a little extra and stay somewhere else…

Myself and my partner had numerous problems during our stay which resulted in us being forced to leave the property and check into another hotel in the city, at a high expense. The area in which the hotel is situated does not get a mention but I feel those using your website should be advised as to the location and what to expect. The morning after our first night my partner woke to find herself covered in insect bites, which we suspect is from bed bugs. We visited Alcatraz island and upon return to the hotel I found my suitcase had been tampered with. While nothing was missing, the lock code had changed to a new combination. Something virtually impossible to do without taking time to figure out the previous combination and resetting. When I arrived back at the hotel I suspect I disturbed those tampering with my luggage as it had not been closed with the zips on the lock properly as I had left it. I went to check out and make my concerns known to staff who simply did not care. He sat with his feet on the table and insisted it was not his problem, the most unprofessional attitude I have ever encountered. Stay away from this hotel.

The service of the staff was spectacular, the rooms have refrigerator, microonds and dishwasher, ideal if you go in savings plan. It's near the Bart. The sector has many people on the street, however it is safe as the police station is close and you are not assaulted, I know that I had to spend several times walking.

So far our worst accommodation ever. Accommodation was booked through
Hotels company — which is essentially an intermediary.
The appropriate amount of money was deducted from my credit card
immediatelly by Hotels when booked that, nevertheless we have been
charged by this Hotel Adrian REPETAEDLY by check in after arrival to the
San Francisco — an incomprehensible matter I found out later in my bank
accounts. I do not understand how this fraudulent behavior could happen…?
I immediately contacted the hotel and they promised to resolve it — but
they completely stopped communicate after this… I wonder why?
After this abominable ending I informed Hotels and described all our
story to them: and they started investigate this issue but extremely
slowly and lax, I still had to remind and inquire them… it took almost 2
months. Of neverending effort from my side to we luckily received money
back but an incomplete amount — so we were harmed moreover.
Beside this the hotel was in the siege of the homeles, who had access to
the hotel (there was no lock on main door! ) and bathed in shared showers
I suppose, the corridors smelled of them, the rooms were tiny,
breakfast made one cake and one drink nothing more — funny!
we warn you to avoid these cheaters! We lost a lot of our many because of them.

The staff have been exceptional and very accommodating… The room was clean and had all the amenities promised. The hotel itself is very beautiful for a restored 1907 property… My stay so far has been extremely pleasant.

I was a bit concerned initially after reading the previous reviews, but the price and location was too good to turn down. However, it was made abundantly clear to me upon arrival that the building is under new management and that they are doing their absolute best to turn things around — and in my opinion, they are doing a pretty good job! The manager was super nice and welcoming when I arrived, helped me carry my luggage up the stairs and made the check in as seamless as possible. It was a very positive atmosphere, all of the other tenants were very warm and friendly. The building is beautiful, very art deco style and modern, almost luxurious. The outside area is definitely rough, the tenderloin is kinda like the Garment district of New York, but inside the hotel is fine, and there is a BART station right nearby so it doesn’t really matter (it is just good to be aware). I think for the price, the hotel itself is very beautiful and very conveniently located, so definitely worth it!

Worse hotel in all of San Francisco. You be better off staying on the streets and it still be cleaner. We got to our room which was still dirty from people before. Asked for new room nothing. Then asked to clean room. Manager said no you do it. We had to make our own bed, clean toilet and shower, take garbage out to stay there so now you have to be your own housekeeper. Manager is so rude… Do not Stay here crack heads knock on door at 3am. Trust me anything else in the entire world be better then this place.

We booked two nights, and stayed only one because the hotel hat bedbugs. The hotel is since refusing to refund us or pay for our expenses. I recommend to stay somewhere else!

It won't let me leave a review unless you give at least one start. More deception. Take my review as no stars. Don't go there. It's a total dump and the area is dangerous and the homeless and derelicts are scary, harassing and belligerent. 9/12/17 Most reservations are non refundable and unfortunately I didn't get more and more accurate reviews until after I purchased the reservation. I can live with roughing it but this area is like "take your life in your hands"

Worst hotel ever. Breakfast is a joke. Dirty, rooms have not been cleaned.

I've been to many Hotels, hostels or Appartements over the past years, but never stayed at a accommodation as bad as Adrian. It's located in a very poor district called tenderloin in San Francisco. Homeless people and drugdealers on the street infront of the hotel. Due to the maindoors are not locked strangers have access to the building all day/ night and are able to use the bath/ toilets of the hotel (the same as the guests are supposed to use) … the room itself was clean at the first view but when you look carefully its dirty all over. The worst thing was that we found bed bugs in our bed which was the top of the ice Berg so we left directly after the first night. The hotel manager doesn't seemed to be supprised as we confronted him with everything. He said we have to pay for the one night we stated there and give us a refund for the other two nights we have already payed. Today it's almost two months later and I neither became a refund nor heard a single word from the hotel manager although I contacted him several times… To be honest: don't safe money on the wrong place! This was a terrible experience I would not recommand this hotel to anybody.

Attention sensitive souls, the neighborhood where the hotel is located is filled with homeless and nobody under the influence of drugs.

Bed bugs bed bugs bed bugs! Sketchy people and even sketchier neighborhood. Stay away. Sleep in your car in a nice neighborhood. Unless you want bed bugs. Oh and don't plan on taking a shower. Also sketchy. bed bugs!

BED BUGS! STAY AWAY! The general manager, Jesus Hernandez, is unprofessional and rude. This place is infested with bed bugs. My cousin's room had bed bugs as well. The room they switched me to had bed bugs as well. I had to get a different hotel that night as I could not stand to sleep in a bed full of bed bugs. Jesus is very much aware of the bed bug issue and acts like its not an issue. How can they know they have them and do nothing about it? I will be reporting this place to the health department of San Francisco. They have homeless people sneak in all the time. The area is very dangerous and this place has no security.

I have travelled extensively round the world and this is the single worst hotel I have ever come across even compared to budget hotels in rough areas of Africa. Within minutes of checking in a homeless man who was freely walking the corridors of the 4th floor of the hotel tried to sell me drugs just outside my room. When I made the manager aware they accused me of making it up and refuses a refund. Strongly advise against staying in this awful excuse for a hotel.

Horrible!
If you want to find your mattress infested with bed bugs or even cross the homeless in the common areas, this is the place.
Avoid at all costs this hotel which is anything but a good plan.

The people that work here are very rude!
The service is very bad! There was a dead mouse in the toilet. Cockroaches in the showers and there are bedbugs! You need to ask them to clean the room and get new sheets and towels. And worst of all. There was shit next to the toilet and there was shit in the bathtub. After the complain they didn't do anything about it. And left it the whole evening and night. … There is also a lot of homeless people walking in and out the hotel. Workers dont say anything to them or dont ask them to leave. But ask me after a few days being there who I was and what I was doing there? Terrible place. Dont go!

I rate with one star only because it's impossible to choose zero. Rooms looks clean but they are full of bugs. That is enough. Employees are nice, hotel are quite clean but bugs are totally unacceptable. We have to switch room for the three times. Never stay here.

Worst expérience ever! When we was arrived we already found Nobody there was not really a Lobby or something Nobody to ask for out réservation than After 1 hour we found someone really not sympatik! When we was going to our room there was no shower no Toilette nothing in it and the bed was not clean there was everywhere hairs from the other guests! The elivator was not working also! We asked them to give us another room they dont do it they Started to give us the foud really Bad People really Bad Hotel it seems the Same way like a prison! Very afraid about it and Never Ever again!

Booked a double room but got a single. No housekeeping service for 5+ days. Plus plenty of bedbugs, it looked like I have measles after the first nights stay. On the upside, it's very cheap and central for SF. Noise, residents and local homeless weren't a problem as described in other reviews. If you're on a budget and can find some bedbug spray it's definitely worth it.

This place is a halfway house, the tenderloin area does not bother me, I understand it and I don't care about what goes on outside my issues are what's inside. The building is full of 'residents' they leave their doors open and smoke weed all night, the walls are thin, the yell and shout all through the night. Rooms are unclean despite being 'cleaned' We were bitten by bed bugs and had to spend $40 on our own sheets, glad wrap and bug spray to stop the bites as management denied. Upon glad wrapping and spraying the mattress we discovered tags on the mattresses saying they were used and second hand. We found stains and bed bug feacies on the mattress A resident died in room 505 on our floor during our stay, residents placed a sign saying 'rest in peace good neighbour' very unpleasant to experience on a holiday Was awoken on our first night by a man up stairs, the gentleman at the desk removed the man who ran down the stairs with no shirt on screaming and yelling and proceeded to scream and yell into the streets. We were again awoken at 5am to the neighbor having sex that sounded as if it was on our room floor the walls are that thin, we heard word for word everything, it was two males and apparently they are residents so it's not a one off. I have been harassed in the hallways by residents and asked for money during the middle of the night by people knocking on our door.

Do not stay here! We didn't even check in it was in such a bad neighbourhood we felt completely unsafe! We arrived in the hotel and my friend and I were shaking we felt so nervous. We wouldn't have left the hotel if we stayed so we booked somewhere else. Not worth even paying the amount we were being charged. And the guy was completely uninterested in dealing with a refund and was happily going to charge $400 for the three nights I'd booked.

You get what you pay for, not super nice, but also not super expensive. The bathroom being in the hall is pretty inconvenient.

Not too good, not too bad. … just make sure that they turn the heater. It was freaking cold in my room and the heating system automatically works for two-three hours per day. I had to use three blankets and still I got the fever. I would assume that the A. C in summer would work like the same. The breakfast was donuts and coffee so don't expect a continental breakfast. So if you want to save money and live in a hotel in downtown, it's a place to live in. Surely it's $15 — $20 cheaper than its competitors. The hotel is run by a South American guy who is doing his best in saving the money. He was helpful though.

Worst Experience Ever! Dirty quilt cover, dirty sheets, no mirror in room or in shared bathroom (which was very dirty), could hear the guy in the next room snoring. Walls are thin, could hear the lady across the way hacking up her guts until 2.00am. Elevator from the ground floor to reception is not working so had to lug suitcase up 2 flights of stairs. Staff (possibly Manager — who knows) didn't even bother to tell me where the breakfast was located. Could smell weed from what it seems like permanent residents rooms. Located in the Tenderloin District so plenty of homeless people around, as well as drug deals going down on the street. The only redemption was the Wifi. Was promised a refund & am still waiting 3 weeks later!

I stayed here for my first stay at any hotel and it was horrible, they didn't show you around the hotel more like hostel. It smelled so bad, homeless outside all day and night. Cable? More like 3 channels other than news channel. Free Parking? Yeah right you have to pay next door for an all night and can't be going in and out. Worst $100 I spent. Rooms are photoshopped, Nothing like what it seen on the internet and bedbugs disgusting.

They are great people they give me good room there is breakfast coffe orange juice milk donut it good for the price and it s clean I would say it better then other places I asked them to change room they gave me bigger room for same price :)

Bed broke in first room, then we got downgraded and lost microwave/mini fridge. Bed bugs, terrible staff, rooms are very dirty. Do not recommend at all.

This place is terrible. People live in the hotel. The third floor smells like human who never showered and garbage sitting in the sun. The hotel has two big speakers in each hallway that are blasting pop music from morning until 9:00 pm. The bed has no fitted sheet. The towels they give are stained. I had to check if there actually was a window or if it was just a hole in the wall. Lots of movement in the hallway around 1 to 4 pm. Just don't go there.

While the hotel itself was fairly nice the area is not the best. Lots of vagrants and discarded drug paraphernalia. The elevator was out of service. Windows are very thin and provide zero street noise dampening. Lots of late night yelling on the streets. No heater in the room.

The bad reviews are prior to the awesome, brand new remodeling. Its brand new now. Period. It is the talk of the town for chic, openminded, young, relaxed money making, clean, true adventure seeking progressives. Come take a safe, clean, responsible… break… and enter the zone. Be a trend setter.

It's cheap for a reason. Lots of homeless outside, the guy across the hall from us had been using the restroom in his room (3rd floor). Aside from the drug abuser vibe, the room was well furnished and had nice furniture. The elevator is old school and the place has an older style charm to it. All in all, cheap, historic, but depressing.

Difficult to assess. The hotel rooms are very small but clean. Also the toilet was clean. Geographically, the hotel is in a good location. However, the many homeless, for those who are not accustomed are already somewhat frightening. Breakfast was only sweet and coffee available. The hotel is OK for travellers and short stays. But no more. Would give 2, 5 stars if that were possible.

It is now 4 days that I have sent various e-mails to cancel my reservation and none of them has been answered, finally called them and after 2 calls (the first person I had was supposed to call me back and never happened), I had someone that confirmed me that my booking was cancelled and no charge will be applied, I have asked for an email to confirm actually just a reply to my initial emails and nothing so I emailed them again… I dont think that a customer should be spending so much time to be provided an answer!
