This has been a pleasant experience. The accommodations are nice, comfortable and not too spacious. It has been quiet in our room with little noise coming from the neighboring rooms. We had both breakfast and dinner in the Blue Mermaid Restaurant attached to the hotel; it was good food and great service. Our biggest issue is that we asked the maids to leave our room alone as we needed nothing; they came in anyway, did some glass replacing, no new towels and took all of our used coffee cups without replacing them. We are using water cups this morning, a bit hot. However, I would recommend this facility readily as the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

Great value and location. Same goes for the Blue Mermaid. We had very good food there. The crab corn chowder is excellent. We went to the maritime museum across the street. My husband is a disabled veteran so we both got in for free, which enabled us the opportunity to get Irish coffees at Buena Vista. We did all of this on the same block. My husband can’t walk very well, so that was great that we were able to do so much in one night. Parking, as usual, in San Fran is a pain, but the valet let us keep the car in front for 15 minutes so we could get the bags and my husband to the room and come back down to park it. BTW, you can bring your pet there.

Had a 4 night stay here in Aug 18. King room was comfy, premium bed, pillows and linen. Room was serviced daily. There was some noise from adjoining rooms and outside, Location is good, though fishermans wharf was a place I was keen to escape. Where this place shines are the staff who are really helpful and very honest. I inadvertently left my laptop in my room and they located and posted it to me. Would stay here again if I needed the location again.

Great location, big and friendly rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Good food at the Mermaid restaurant. Easy to discover SF sights, by foot or public transport. Nice area for walking around in the evenings, many restaurants and bars nearby, close to Pier 39 attractions. Highly recommendable.

We had an amazing view of Alcatraz from our room and the location was convenient to the trolley and for walking most everywhere. The valet was always friendly and helpful when we needed recommendations for getting around. We only had drinks in the hotel bar, however, we did hear that the food was very good so we will make sure to try it on our next visit. The concierge was less than helpful, however, we figured out what we needed on our own and everything worked out fine.

This really is an excellent hotel that you NEED to stay in if visiting San Francisco. If given the choice between Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf, pick the latter and stay at the Argonaut. Room is large, staff are friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely honeymoon trip there. Check out the blue mermaid bar for breakfast — Eggs Benedict a particular highlight.

Wonderful hotel. Clean, friendly and helpful. Discounts offered for local excursions and restaurants. Nice lobby. Great music. Stayed here a few years ago and it's even better now. I want to come back every weekend. It's located right on the wharf and near everything you want to visit.

Wonderful location near fisherman's wharf. Hotel theme throughout is wonderful. Rooms were very clean and well kept by a courteous and helpful staff. Beds were very comfortable and rooms are spacious. This hotel left us guessing on how newly it was remodeled or was everything extremely well kept?! I would stay again and recommend to anyone who loves nautica themed styles.

After being put in a foul smelling room, Dirty bathroom & with a broken ac… my opinion of the place fell into the negative spectrum. They changed my room which was better. Restaurant food was too dry to eat… what a waste. Not sure how this place has so many great reviews. Way overpriced for what they have to offer. The location was the only positive thing about it. This place fell very short of my expectations and standards. I will go somewhere else next time.

I was very impressed with The Argonout Hotel. The location was great, so close to Fisherman's Wharf. The staff was very friendly and the room and hotel were clean. The restaurant attached to the hotel had good food and a relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel look is awesome — I was impressed right from the start. I was greeted at my car by the valet gentleman who was nice, then greeted at the front desk by a gentleman who was also nice. He checked us in also chatted with us. Our room — a standard with a king bed — was a great size and I LOVE the look! The bathroom has a pocket door and I absolutely love that it has a magnifying mirror! It also has body wash, shampoo, conditioner, already in the shower for you and a hair dryer (not in the shower LoL! ) I definitely would stay here again!

For the price we paid and the location, which is right on Fisherman's Wharf was well worth the price. The room was clean and the staff friendly. With that being said our whole stay was about visiting and touring San Francisco's many attractions. Right across the street is the famed cable car turnaround which takes you into downtown San Francisco for shopping, Lombard Street, to Chinatown! After you return you have the wharf to choose a myriad of menu options and to top off the evening with dessert at Ghirardelli! Although your surroundings are bustling with the noise of San Francisco, your room is quite for that much needed rest! We had nothing bad to say about our stay here and returned after a busy day of sightseeing for a well deserved rest.

We had a Great time at the Argonaut Hotel. It was a great location for us. We had an event at The Persido and hung out in the Marina District, so it was easy to get to where we needed to be. This all brick building used to be the Del Monte Building. They did a good job paying tribute to the history of the building Room was clean and comfortable. Nice bed and pillows. Staff was friendly and professional. We look forward to staying there again.

Location was excellent. The staff is not the friendliest but that's all of San Francisco. The rooms were spacious and clean and very charming. Walls are very thin so if you have young children, people will surely complain. Definitely not Disney. The on site restaurant did not live up to the hype.

The service is very complete and the food is very good very friendly. It is in a very tourist location.

Overall the room is good, but not free parking, in this inch of gold in the place without the hotel's own car park, not free parking will be very troublesome, so still do not live here, find their own car park can be free parking hotel live.
Yesterday we found in the vicinity of the parking lot, parked less than three after having to drive out again, parking fees received 38 knives … Our room is just on the roadside, we can see the scenery outside the window, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.

You simply cannot find a more perfect location to stay. The Argonaut is quaint, incredibly clean and comfortable. Their service is also top notch. We stayed for three nights and were so happy we decided to stay at the Argonaut. Magnificent!

Great hotel in historic brick building. Great service at the valet and reception. But especially the guys at the entrance area are a real enrichment. Rooms are great but also a little in the years and the price-performance ratio also for the furnishing of the bathrooms a little too high.

This place is amazing, the comforts and service is there you’d expect from a high end hotel. They did have an issue with having clean sheets and comforters on the beds but did change them immediately! This place is perfect for all the sights you’d want to see. They’re a trolley ride from union square!

Decent hotel and good location, but they charge a "urban facility fee" which I thought was a city fee, but found that this was just another name for a resort fee. In other words, a money grab. If I have to go back for a similar conference next year I'll be in one of the Marriott properties a few blocks away.

This is a great hotel. The staff is super friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Definitely the most comfortable bed and pillows of any hotel I've stayed at. The location is ideal in Fisherman's Wharf — right in the heart of everything and steps away from breathtaking views.

Stayed here both times I’ve visited San Francisco. Rooms are fantastic. Love the nautical theme of the hotel. Highly recommended. Location is perfect for Fisherman’s Wharf or catching the cable car into the city.

I stayed in 4 different hotels in San Francisco and this was the best one! It was clean the room was cute and the best part was service! The guys helping with the luggage were so nice and friendly, it was a pleasure talking to them. Also Eddie, who checked me in was really nice and offered me an early check in as well! I will definitely stay here the next time as well. The only down part was the fact that they don’t give free water, limited amenities, and the mandatory urban city fee of 25 dollars.

I stayed here over the weekend with two others. The hotel is cute and thematic. I had a lot of issues with the service. It took nearly ten minutes to check in and the small space by the check in desk quickly became crowded. I was sold a $25 (plus tax) card at the check in desk that afforded a $10 discount at the hotel restaurant. The card was not presented as optional. The next morning, we went to use the card at the restaurant. I ordered avocado toast, which arrived doused in olive oil. My friend's meal and mine both came served with potatoes. They were bland. We hoped to ask the waiter for ketchup, but he never returned during the meal. The restaurant was not busy and our waiter and several other wait staff walked by us numerous times. He didn't return until he dropped off the check. It was another half hour to forty five minutes before he came by to pick it up. The hotel was cute and fine. The service was terribly lacking. The hotel is in walking distance to several shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel valet parking is around $65, but there are two nearby parking garages that cap an overnight stay at around $40.

Great location and the staff was excellent! Very professional, informative and funny! I stayed on New Years Eve and it was the perfect starting and ending point for our adventures. Plus there were so many amenities around!

Located at the end of Fisherman's Wharf, it is the ideal drop-off point for those who like to stroll along the bay. A multitude of restaurants (small and large budget) and shops nearby. Terminus/departure of the cable car a few meters, perfect to show up soon enough and thus avoid a long wait.
The rooms are large and nice, however their soundproofing could be improved.

Hotel is nice and clean with a nautical theme. We had a room with two queen beds which was nice and comfortable. Parking is EXPENSIVE. Valet with the hotel is $75/day. So self park at the garage (same one used by hotel valet staff) behind the hotel for $46/day. CAUTION! Parking garage opens at 7AM! If you need car earlier than that, you need to do valet since only hotel staff can retrieve the car in after-hours.

A beautiful hotel in a historic building. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The building at Fishermans Wharf. Some rooms have direct views of the cable car and/or Golden Gate Bridge. Rooms and house are extremely clean. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

We went to a corporate event and the facilities were very nice. It was in a lounge after the patio, and they decorated it very nice, Christmas but sober. The lounge had a unisex bathroom and was very convenient for smokers because they could go out to the patio and do it within walking distance.

The hotel is gorgeous, especially the lobby! It needs a few things to earn five stars. The rooms don't have coffee makers or mini fridges and the elevators are notoriously slow. Bathrooms are very small and need updating. That said, the Skylight Lounge is gorgeous!

Love this hotel. Husband and I stayed in the King bed Accessible Room. It was perfect. The room looks exactly as the photograph seen on the website: very clean, beautifully decorated with a nautical theme, extremely spacious, and it has a roll-in shower bathroom that is quite spacious. The hotel itself is excellent. The people were very kind, polite, attentive to our needs, and more than willing to help us with anything. The location is perfect as the shoreline, shops, restaurants, and transit are all a few steps away. The neighborhood resembles that of a timeless port town. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel as we didn't encounter any wheelchair challenges.

An amazing hotel. Very well placed on the Fishermans Wharf area, close to Pier 39. Lively area without being noisy. The hotel by itself is superb, the rooms are beautiful. I recommend even if the budget remains important.

Very quaint and lovely little hotel. The rooms have a nautical theme, hence the name. The lobby and reception staff were lovely, our room was not ready but we were able to store our luggage. The check in process was smooth and easy. Loved the service and staff, very friendly and extremely conveniently located hotel right on the waterfront, walkable to everywhere!

Well-equipped but noisy rooms both outdoors (music under the Windows) and indoors (fridge) staff quick to pick up your tip but slow to solve your problems.

The bed want comfortable and the bathroom had NO VENTING system. Yes, no bathroom fan! So just use your imagination what's it like in there in the morning after a full night of drinking! The TV is super quiet and old. Wouldn't stay again. Lots of other places for that price with much better amenities.

Very comfortable and stylish hotel in a great location. Our room was fairly spacious for two people with a comfortable bed. The concierge was very helpful, recommending an excellent winery tour and providing good advice on how to travel around on public transit. I wouldn't recommend driving to the hotel — the traffic is very busy on the Embarcadero and the parking fees at the hotel are high ~$58 per night. Otherwise highly recommended.

Fabulous hotel. I don't usually stay in this part of town but it was so much fun. Great to grab the trolly to the ferry terminal and other parts of the city. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable and ready with a helping hand and expert tips. Wish my stay had been longer but we only had a couple nights.

We went through the Argonaut from July 10th to 13th for the start of our Road trip. This hotel is very well placed. From this place we were able to go on Sausalito by bike via the Golden Gate, spend a good evening on the Fisherman's Wharf or thanks to the Cable Car nearby to visit San Francisco.
The rooms are nice and well equipped and despite the entertainment in the daytime the area proves very quiet in the night. Our room had seen on the street with no noise problem on the three nights spent in the hotel.
If we dine by San Francisco, our choice will be again on the Argonaut
Only one problem no parking on site but some nearby public parking and honereux can be used.

Full mini bar and snack bar available in room if you like getting charged what you would expect in a downtown SF hotel room. All amenities worked fine and air conditioner ran just fine all night. This hotel is right in the end of Fisherman's wharf and very near Ghiradelli square. This is a touristy spot which may or may not be your goal. Plenty of food nearby and bars a plenty if you want to enjoy. All in all a decent place that I would visit again if I'm in the area.

The room is very nice and the rooms are very clean. Clean bathrooms, excellent service level, each room includes the adapter available for European power supplies. It is well specified what is paid and what not, eg bathrobe and umbrella are freely usable and, if you want to carry away, can be purchased. Free Wi-Fi very fast, it is available the option to pay that increases the speed but already that base is more than enough for everyday use.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, my room also has a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Available the laundry at prices in line with the sector (although the external ones are certainly cheaper).
A deposit of €100 per night is requested and will be returned at the end of the stay (reduced by any purchases). Minibar very provided in both food and drinks, the fridge can also be used for personal food and drink, very comfortable bed with hard mattress.
The location on the Bay of S Francisco makes it close to many restaurants and souvenir shops, within 10 minutes of walking you reach the Pier 39 or Lombard Street.
Defects? Breakfast, is not available a kitchen and you use that of a bar/restaurant communicating with the structure. The buffet is missing and you pay the card (or use a voucher with a dish and a drink).

Very well placed hotel. It's perfect. As for the rooms it is seen on a patio without interest or on the neighbor's window.
Service without more.

Traveling with children can be difficult but let me tell you our experience was amazing. From my first interaction with the hotel I felt at home. I called and talked to Kaylee in the reservations department. We talked for over 45min she answered all my questions honestly and was very straight forward. Some hotels try so hard to sell you they will bend the truth about what the hotel is actually like. Not here. She was incredible. I had so many ideas of how I wanted to spend our time in the city and she let me know what was realistic with children and what activities I should skip and she nailed it. I was convinced that we would all be able to bike the bridge boy was I wrong. Kaylee let me know that it was not a easy bike ride for children. So my husband and I decided to take the trip alone, and it was definitely not easy I couldn't imagine my young kids completing the trip. The level of survive that we received was so amazing. When deciding on a room type we went with a suite looking over the water and it was everything we could have asked for. The location was perfect and after spending 45min on the phone reserving our room I did not even need a map when we got in. We will always come back here!

It's OK. But for the money it's not great! The room sizes and layout are identical to the best Western I stayed in the night before arriving here. NOTHING IS COMPLEMENTARY NOT EVEN A BOTTLE OF WATER! The décor is lovely but this along with the warf location is what you are paying for. If that's your bag then all well and good. But for much less you could stay somewhere equally as nice with much more value for money and an inclusive breakfast. Windows cannot be opened, only aircon which is noisy.

Very dog-friendly! Staff is accommodating. Nearby park and close to the pier and Ghirardelli square. Absolutely beautiful heritage building. Really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Argonaut for a couple of nights while in town. Rooms were clean and spacious and service was excellent. We booked through a 3rd party website and didn't realize the hotel was pretty much themed all over. We didn't really enjoy the nautical theme ourselves, but I suppose it does suit the environment. Parking was expensive at $50 per night on top of the regular room rate. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available and fast enough for looking up information online. The location of the hotel is great.

Very nice spot on the wharf, tons to see and do nearby, very friendly and accommodating staff and good breakfast food downstairs.

Gorgeously decorated and in a super convenient location. Fun fact from the national park ranger who does free waterfront tours every sat/sun morning — the whole building is actually part of the national park. Quite expensive though, especially given the complete lack of a view.

Fantastic stay at the Argonaut, a hotel with character in exterior and interior architecture, friendly, spacious and comfortable rooms, situation hyper-strategique for visiting San Francisco or back to Sausalito, and icing on the cake a nice wine hour every evening to discover California vintages. I go back whenever you want.

This is one of the nicest hotels on Fisherman's Wharf. The location is great with lots of places to eat nearby and you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz from the Wharf. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and the rooms are large with very comfortable beds. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and the food was lovely. The evening wine reception in the lobby was a nice touch too. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I just returned from our trip to SF. We actually left a day early because the hotel really felt like a prison despite the fact that we knew we wouldn't be refunded for that night since we booked through a 3rd party vendor. The lobby/hallways are dark and unless you pay top $$$ for a room with a view, and I mean top $$$, the other rooms are like prisons. We did book through a 3rd party and still paid over $300/night and our rooms felt like a jail cell. The hotel should be ashamed to charge anything over $150 for the rooms with no view. Our windows were right across the window of other rooms, we couldn't even open our shutters because we can see into our neighbors room. The service was even more disappointing. When we checked in the comforter cover had 3 stains on it, so when we headed out to dinner we asked the front desk to send someone to change the sheets. We got back to find a crumpled up comforter on the bed. We called for a manager to come see how our request was honored, she quickly apologized and offered a $40 credit and said she will send someone right away to make the bed. She doesn't understand why they left it all crumpled up like that, not even folded let alone made the bed. A few minutes later a young man showed up, apologized for perhaps misunderstanding the request. He then asked us if he should make the bed. I responded with yes please and changed the sheet that's dirty. He left to get the sheet and returned.

The hotel is clean and comfortable with a fun nautical theme. The lobby is full of lively individuals and activities. The dining options are above average and the hotel staff is friendly. The biggest downside is the waterfront location, where you are constantly bombarded with tourists. On weekends, the parties and people can be heard into your room. For a local SF experience, this may not be the best option.

I come back from San Francisco, I slept at the Argonaut hotel, excellent hotel, very clean; Very good service, nicely decorated, to recommend!
