Reviews of Hyatt Regency San Francisco 4*
Reasonable price Good service.
Had a great experience. I will definitely come back.
Friendly, nice and clean, well organized, pretty good view of the city.
Very nice luxurious, atmosphere and exceptional service.
The staff is amazing, the rooms are really nice, the beds are extremely comfortable it's in a really nice area away from the homeless people. Unless you're outside at night you might find a few people howling at the moon or walking on their head other than that you got the Pier right across the street with little vendors nearby. The breakfast here is phenomenal and the drinks are pretty good. And for less than $300 a night, and you're in the finance district and you're on the pier it's pretty good.
One beautiful hotel & in the heart of everything.
Service staff below par for a Hyatt Regency.
Clean room with great view, friendly staff, and convenient location. Next time will bring the kids here.
Hyatt Regency San Francisco is such an iconic structure and amazing team. The rooms are impeccable and staff very attentive. Well done!
Absolutely beautiful, modern, spacious, jewel of the city.
Very friendly staff, the rooms are very nice and I recommend paying the little extra for a view. Close to so many attractions and you get so much for a great price!
For a hotel which charges this much I expected better rooms and customer service. This is a iconic hotel which is losing its charm over the years.
Great location, food & friendly staff!
All of the staff are friendly and go above and beyond to help you. The room is clean and has a view of the bay. Walking distance to wharf.
Great bar and restaurants outside of the hotel.
Beautiful classic hotel. Convenient to everything.
Clean and safe.
All Covid precautions being observed.
All Staff are friendly and has excellent Customer Service! 😊
It’s a lovely room very spacious comfortable bed and nice view.
Love the hotel, we were on the 16th floor with a balcony and a sea view, it was worth every penny! But the parking really sucks! It’s best to get a Lyft everywhere you go, it’ll be cheaper because the parking you can’t go in and out, better have an account with Uber eats or Doordash because if you go out of parking you have to keep paying for it! It’s nothing to go downstairs to get your food THATS FREE!
Gorgeous and elegant lobby view.
Looks like someone fell asleep at the job. They say 24-hour concierge. Such poor service and lack of professionalism.
Nice view. Best lobby interior.
Such a peaceful hotel with a wonderful balcony bay view. The rooms are spacious and super clean. Check in is very easy. There is no valet parking so you have to park in the public parking in the building next door. The room had a mini fridge a f coffee maker but no microwave. Breakfast was provided during our stay. Would recommend this hotel as it is a quick 2 minutes walk from Pier 1 as well.
Perfect location. Easy access to all the sites next to ferry Building. My room has a beautiful view of the bay.
Great location too! The architecture is amazing! Great customer service.
Love this hotel, staff, rooms, food❤️
I love my spacious room and View of the city and Bay Bridge!
The staff are very helpful and friendly.
I also love the location!
Came to Hyatt for my birthday celebration. Adam Tobiasz helped to arrange welcome gift which was very sweet. We got an upgraded room on the newly renovated 16 floor. Front desk and concierge were very generous to give my family skate tickets and my wife and kids had a blast. The view of the Regency club is spectacular and I wish the the hours are longer and the staff won’t start to turn off the lights right at 9pm when dessert service just ends. Overall, it’s a great 24 hours stay and love to be back again soon.
I wasn't really expecting much because the rooms at the regency at SFO airport is quite old and most of the furniture was not in good condition. But that changed when we stayed at the balcony suite here at the Embarcadero! modern furniture and AN AMAZING VIEW of the bay! Staff was really nice as expected of us Hyatt Colleagues Go Hyatt! really made us feel welcome even were just 16mi away from home. Will definitely bring my family here next time! :) )
Beautiful views from balcony rooms overlooking the bay. Great location and facility with friendly caring staff and management. Highly recommend!
Excellent service, beautiful architecture.
Very nice hotel with great location.
A great place to stay while in San Francisco. The hotel is beautiful, the staff were professional and friendly. I also enjoyed the one meal I had at the hotel.
Nice hotel and location and service.
Best location! Walking, street cars, cable cars or buses. Fabulous restaurants. Great concierge assistance and recommendations! Very helpful.
Had a terrible night with a very noisy family, kids were running, screaming, throwing things at the wall from 3:00 AM till 8:00 AM. The hotel said “oh sorry but we are a family friendly hotel” and took $50 off, boooo Hyatt we were there to sleep and that was terribly disrupted! I don’t mind family friendly but I think the kids were unattended, how can parents sleep through that? I called front desk twice first time at 3:00 AM they did nothing. Bad management.
Very disappointed… arrived to a dirty room. Food in the refrigerator, popcorn on the floor, mold on shower wall and shower curtain. We were given a $100 credit, but would of preferred to have the clean room verses the $.
Went in for drinks & desserts after SFSU graduation. Both drinks & desserts were fantastic! Loved the quiet setting, soft music & lovely atmosphere. I’m a 76 year old grandma who was with her 2 handsome grandsons & their beautiful girlfriends. The lounge is for all ages.
Fantastic service upon arrival through our departure. Friendly folks!
We hope to return!
Thank you!
The hotel had a great vibe and was very lively. The restaurant staff were on point even though I could tell that they were under staffed. It was very impressive. Most of all the food was great, but really pricey overall for the portion size. Other than that ask the bartenders to make you a Karl the Fog drink and you won't be disappointed. I'm coming back again for sure.
Largest Atrium in the world: Beautiful with lots of places to sit in solitude or with friends. Nice rooms. I'd recommend requesting a higher room as they are quieter. During the holiday season, the city side is best to avoid the loud music from the ice rink. I come here pretty often.
Beautiful hotel inside. Atrium is definitely something that stands out. Never seen anything like that. Our stay was very good. The rooms are big enough and updated with the walk-in shower. There was an issue right after the check-in that was created solely by the agent at the desk, but it was quickly resolved by the property manager the same night. Overall, very happy with the stay and customer service.
Great hotel, apparently Guinness world record for largest lobby in the world. The rooms are comfortable and the amenities are quite nice. Gym near the lobby is well stocked, the hotel bar and restaurant is good. And the location is great. The only thing, you can hear noise from the lobby in your room, it's not the end of the world but just a bit annoying if you don't sleep with background noise.
Very large, with a not very cozy reception (giant building, after entering the second floor and you're at the front desk, it's a giant hall). More feeling like you're in a business center. Breakfast is about the same (above you on the perimeter of 14 floors of rooms, in the center to the roof free space).
Amazing hotel! We love this place and the elevators are beautiful! The staff is very nice and super helpful. They even let us check out late and held our luggage until we were ready for the train trip home. I recommend the Hyatt Regency every single time! It is a touch pricey so we save it for special occasions.
Living just across the bay, we still frequent this hotel on our many trips to the City. Sadly we waited too long and they were sold out for us this past Saturday. So we stayed elsewhere, but stopped in for a last drink before we got on Bart. You have the most personable bartenders, that even if we do not get a room, we stop here to complete our weekend getaway! A great place to stay! I just need to make reservations sooner!
I will say is a pretty standard Hyatt. Nice rooms, nice hotel. Clean, modern, and comfortable. Didn't have an option to have them not change towels to be more green, but maybe they are and they just didn't need to tout it. They did not have water in the room, saying the San Francisco tap water is pristine — and I have to say, they were 100% right. It was crystal and deliciously pure to the taste. Can't give them a 5 because they aren't pet friendly, but it was a really nice and super Central hotel. Favorite part? The bathroom lighting. Seriously the best bathroom lighting of any hotel I've ever stayed at. Normally you look awful (maybe it's just me) in hotel bathroom mirrors, but in this one, I felt like a super model that could take on the world. Trust me, that starts your day off right!
Clean and updated room as usual, great views and staff always super friendly.
Great location; great service. The Hyatt Regency is located near a lot of points of interests.
Massive hotel. Beautiful atrium. This is definitely a business traveler hotel. Great location walking distance to pier 39 (25min), Alcatraz is 15min walk. Lots of restaurants and the transit is right at your door step. Great if you are taking the BART from the airport. Spacious room with balcony. The breakfast brunch is expensive but very good. Had also amazing service.
I've never actually stayed in the rooms here. But I've been here a lot to dine and drink. There's a very cozy lounge and bar to do just that. This place has been around for as long as I can remember, but the common areas still look spectacular. From the lobby, you can look up at the open air with lights coming down and watch the escalators run up and down.
Personally, I wouldn't pay the extra for the Regency Club. The view up there was amazing but the food was not on par with what you would expect IMO. For the area, for the price… a solid 4. The room is a little dated but not horrid by any means. Super friendly and helpful staff. Balcony room has a nice patio area for 2. Very pleased with the stay. Would most certainly come back.
Staff polite.
Great property with big, airy rooms and situated very conveniently in the middle of the SF biz district. In addition, touristy spots like Pier 39, the historic cable cars and shopping superstores are also within 5-15 min walking distance from the hotel. The hotel has a very nice atrium with an in-house restaurant, which is generally packed. The only fault I'd find with the hotel is the in-room dining, where they give packed food in very small portions. However, with so many restaurants situated around the hotel, that handicap can be easily overcome.
Spectacular! Highly recommended.
A nice modern upscale hotel. Hay is pretty good at maintaining a uniform standard across its hotels and this is a fine example of that. The rooms are nicely modern with updated entertainment that let's you chromecast to the TV. There's a huge lobby with a bar and restaurant (that I didn't visit). The fitness room is pretty big and nicely supplied. It does have a couple floors of convention space, which is good if you're a convention, not as good if you're just visiting and a large convention is there with you. However, the convention space is well separated, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. The location puts it very near the wharves and some tourist areas, though it's not really much of a tourist destination. Transportation is nearby, though.
One of the most conveniently located hotels in SF if you're in the city for business or sightseeing. The rooms are large and well-ventilated, and while the hotel itself has an in-house cafe, I'd recommend going out to one of the many nearby places for food. They also have a car rental desk in-house which is a big convenience.
Went there for a conference, didn't stay in the rooms. Conference center was very nice. Food service was very good. Bar was very good, friendly service. Valet service (I checked my electric scooter with them LOL) was very friendly and helpful. Location is good, close to city center but not in the nasty Tenderloin area with the homeless crazies and needles on the sidewalk.
The room is great and clean. Staff are friendly and the food is good. However, parking is 80 bucks a day for valet. There is no other hotel parking. The only option is to park in one of the other garages overnight. The restaurant in the atrium has great food, very surprised. The waitress, Carolina, absolute gem. Very welcoming and great attitude. We had a great time.
I've stayed here lots of times. The lobby is good fun, gym is solid. Restaurant can be slow, elevators as well. Still, compared to others nearby it's a good hotel for the price. But shop around! If there's a conference prices get jacked up.
The inside of the hotel is striking and attractive. The rooms have great internal and external views. Staff are polite and helpful. Free Wi-Fi. Crib and baby travel supplies provided free of charge. Bar, lounge and restaurant are well decorated and have great ambiance. Rooms are clean, if a little small. Small bathrooms.
Location across from Ferry Building and Farmer's Market. Lobby atrium is phenomenal. Rooftop club (converted revolving restaurant) is worthy with great views of Bay Bridge and good selection of food. Beds very comfortable. Minus one star for dated room tub-shower combo.
It is a hotel very well located. In the financial district of San Francisco. A hall spectacular. The rooms are Super comfortable. Highly recommended.
Hotel was cool, hotel experience not so much. Trying to find the entrance on a rainy evening was difficult, it's not easily marked and I circled around the area a few times before finally figuring it out. Then told I had to drive down the street to park for $34 or pay $64 for valet! Walked back from the car park in the rain wasn't pleasant. Get up to reception where the attendant was very kind and offered me free breakfast for my troubles. Got up to my room, realized I had forgotten my toothbrush and toothpaste so called down to reception. Took them over 2 minutes to answer the phone. Then 30 min and 2 phone calls later to check in on the status of said tooth products, and still nothing. It was midnight by this time so I asked them to leave the items at the door and I'd pick them up in the morning. That morning I go to have my free breakfast and have to argue with a different guy at the front desk because he didn't believe me that his colleague had offered it to me the night before. I then asked the manager of the restaurant and she was gracious and honored the agreement made the night before. Still would have preferred not to have had to go through that ordeal. I dont think I'll stay here again.
The atrium in the middle of the hotel is epic. Double doors opening up to the balcony is so enjoyable in this unseasonably warm weather. There's a cool bar I'm sitting at. The rooms are slightly dated but very well kept up. The location is ideal if you're looking for financial district-like environment.
Excellent hotel. Well located. Very nice architecture, comfortable and clean rooms. Very good attention at the reception. Wonderful breakfast very well attended (we attended the 5-day Victoria, a peruvian of excellent treatment). Highly recommended.
Clean, friendly staff everywhere, good breakfast (the salmon just lace! ). The location is awesome, also related to getting to the airport because BART station is right outside the door. And not far away, the oldest grill restaurant SF ´ S. However, it is true that the single glazing makes every noise from the outside into the room. Therefore "only" 4 *! Another advantage: A Avis agency is at the hotel.
Beautiful, clean, modern, GREAT
location, all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We were there for a company event, (had a beautiful view of the bay) and will probably select this hotel in the future for our own trips! We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet, which had a great variety to choose from. We LOVE San Francisco and will definitely recommend the Hyatt Recency to anyone looking for recommendations! Thank you to the Team for an enjoyable stay!
I adore San Francisco and this hotel. It's part of the fun and located by Pier 39. In the summer we like to walk to Hard Rock Cafe and the other fabulous fun businesses the town has to offer. There are numerous shops right next to the Hyatt. Many amazing things to do. The hotel is posh and comfortable and the staff is wonderful. Food and drink on the entry floor.
Beautiful! And the beds were comfortable. The staff was very accommodating, they even upgraded our room to bay view.
Gorgeous interior, downstairs at the bar and sitting area is very new and stylish. The elevators remind me of Charlie and the chocolate factory. Gorgeous view of the bay and blue hotel/work building across the street. Huge hotel with great sights from every window. In the winter there is a ice skating rink next door. Valet is 60, food is pricey also, but this is SF! CLEAN, COMFY, and definitely one of the nicer hotels I've been to in the state of California. No fridge or mic, but the rooms smell fresh and not weird food smells. Very hot water++
Old, but in a very good place.
Stayed 3 nights over new years eve in a partial bay view room with club level access. The room was nice and spacious enough for two people. The bathroom is incredible small, smallest bathroom we have ever seen in a high starred hotel. You have to step out of the bathroom onto the carpet to dry yourself after a shower. Everyone was very helpful from the bellman, check in through to the house keeping staff. However we did leave a do not disturb sign on our door on New Year's Day and got a phone call (which woke us up) asking if we wanted out room made up. I thought do not disturb ment exactly that?! Employee of the year goes to Conception who is an attendant in the Regency Club lounge. He goes above and beyond by providing amazing customer service. He is a true gentleman and a very valuable member of the Hyatt Regency team. Note, the bed was hard to get used to and the pillows looked like they were on 'honey I shrunk the kids' (small). However you can request foam pillows from housekeeping. They can be slow at getting things to you at times so be patient it's a massive hotel. Regency Club lounge access is amazing if you can get it. They provide small breakfast, afternoon drinks and nibbles, small dinner and dessert daily. The view tops it off, 360° view of San Fransisco. Can only be accessed by a club lounge elevator.
Great location, good breakfast, friendly staff.
We stay at 4+ hotels frequently and this visit was one of the best experience we had. We arrived 2 hours early and our rooms were ready. Valet, bellmen, reception desk staff were extremely attentive and friendly. We will definitely be coming back. This was my 2nd time coming back — my first visit was 21 years ago for my first Mother’s Day. Absolutely love it.
1st of 3 nights here. So far we have an over-abundance of cigarette smoke coming into our room through the cracks in the door. I called the front desk and they sent security to check it out. I met the officer in the hallway and he wanted to check my room (? ) Weird… I said 'no' because my husband was in bed. One hour later and the smoke is still strong. I just wish I wasn't do allergic to it. We called for room service at 9:45 — I was put on hold for 20 minutes and gave up. So far, I am totally disgusted. We have a 'Bay View room. You can actually see the bay if you stand in the corner and peek out of the side of the window. Disappointing and not totally honest. Partial view is more accurate. 2 stars is generous.
Very good place to stay. The only thing so it does not get 5 stars is because the breakfast and dinner service are very limited in terms of hours. You are missing a jacuzzi and swimming pool.

Very friendly staff. Clean room and facility. Breakfast is great. Beautiful building and lobby. Location is great for public transportation. Highly recommended.

Grand Hyatt SF or Hyatt Regency SF? I've stayed in both, and I tend to prefer the Regency. The rooms in the Regency are nice as well (maybe a little bit less good, especially the bathrooms: I had no proper walk-in shower but just a bath-tub with a shower) and the Regency Club is just fine. But the best about the Regency Club here is: You can get outside onto a big balcony and have an awesome view over the bay, Treasure Island and the Oakland Bay Bridge. Just this only is already worth a stay for sure! The architecture of the hotel is great. That big lobby with the inside balconies and the glass elevators: Cool. The rooms: Nice, spacey, clean, contemporary design. All employees I had contact with: Professional, welcoming, friendly. The Club Lounge: Not cozy enough, but an excellent view, good food and a balcony outside (with a smoking area … Psst! ). I had a problem with my room, and my room card did not work any longer. Tech glitches! Can happen. The question is, how you deal with it. The level of service and dedication that the front desk team was delivering to solve the problem was just perfect and is an outstanding example of superior customer service!
Excellent customer service. I had a spectacular view. The room was large and clean. Serca of many parts tourist.
I attended a 3 day technology conference at this hotel. The venue was great with friendly staff and good amenities. The interior was beautiful and the view from the windows was excellent. I think it was mentioned that the food was provided by the hotel and not a catering service, in which case I can say they had tasty and healthy options.
A very well located hotel right in the centre.
Clean Hotel, very nice decor, the rooms with balcony have a beautiful view on the higher floors, mine was towards the bay.
With an Amazing interior design adapts to all the needs and allows for the fluidity of both the guests and the events. It has all the amenities and is close to many of the tourist attractions of the city.
Aperitif for one evening, cozy and elegant.
I just had my Bachelorette even held at Hyatt this past weekend. Me and Three of my good friends choose to spend the weekend at the Hyatt. We were told that the top floor would be available to us for snacks and finger food. When we got there we went to the top floor where we found the most DELICIOUS cookies, and the best coffee with all sodas and water (unlimited) available to us. At 5 we went back upstairs and they were serving the most delicious food. Service was excellent. Olivia whom is the front desk manager helped me at checkout and she was so kind and welcoming. We can not wait to go back.
We had an upcoming Birthday party event and a family member had booked a block of rooms ahead of time. We were extremely happy with the quality of the room and the excellent service. Everyone was helpful and courteous and everything we needed was supplied including a wonderful view in our double room. What a great surprise to find a water view and at an affordable price price during Fleet Week. The location is waking distance to many venues including shopping and sporting events. The Hyatt helped to make our family event a great memory. I will be back if I possibly can.
One of the classic hotels in San Francisco. Located close to the bay bridge you'll see excellent views. Service here is your typical hotel service. Not bad and not the best. Coming here for the holidays is always a treat because the decorations are amazing. My wife and I always enjoy coming here.
Incredible hotel with gorgeous views and incredibly friendly and courteous staff. We arrived way earlier than check in because of unique travel plans. We just wanted to drop our luggage off, but they were able to give us a room without any issue. The Regency Club was really nice and the panoramic view of the bay was jaw dropping. Highly recommended for a special night in San Francisco.
Easy valet parking and check in, room amenities are great especially the bedding. Rooms are also quiet! I didn't hear a thing! Common areas are beautiful and lots of places to plug in and work or meet up with people. One of my favorite hotels in the city!
A huge hotel! I highlight three things, the first the actual service and friendly both in reception and at concierge. Second, your exquisite breakfast, with many payment options depending on your need. And third, the little almost no taste to decorate the room, in particular in the mine had walls with no decoration and a box to put behind the TV.
Spend weekend in this hotel with family. Since I am globalist member, got upgrade for suite with super great view. Room is super clean and big. Woke up with sunrise from bay bridge. Directly visible from the window. The Regency club is just great with wines for free to globalist member. The location of the hotel is perfect. Cross-street to pier 1. We took the boat tour to north bay. And took the historic streetcar to the fisherman's dwarf. The cable car is just downstairs. Yes, the hotel is a bit expensive, but really worth it.
Hyatt regency is a top class hotel with excellent service and a beautiful location. Rooms are clean and spacious and the regency club has a great view. Only complaint is the ice machine is at one end of the floor, so if you're staying at the other end, it is quite far relatively. They do have a filtered water station that is very handy! You can't go wrong at this hotel.
Beautiful place to stay, staff was very helpful. The small cafe inside had everything we needed and the restaurant served delicious food. The play area for children is a genius thought and allows parents to relax in comfort while keeping an eye on your child. Our room was modern with a comfy bed, great views of the city and all the comforts you would expect. My wife and I loved our stay and will definitely return in the future.
The staff here is amazing! Need a drink or just excellent cheer? Stop by the lobby bar and ask for the nicest guy on the planet, Martín (pronounced Mar-Teen), super nice and gives plenty of ideas on how to enjoy SF! The Hyatt is blessed to have staff as such! Cheers!

Beautiful building with a lot of history. I always see other guests snapping photos in and of the atrium space. A decent number of dining options are nearby, though most adjacent options are "pick up and go. " for an outstanding beer+meal with a little extra noise, try Schroeder's. Service is as you would expect for the cost. Nothing to fault.
My wife and I recently spent our anniversary in San Francisco. I decided to stay at the Hyatt Regency due to it's location, and it looked like a real nice hotel. I do want to say first of all, that the staff was awesome. Attentive, personable, and helpful. Martin in the bar, and the servers were fabulous. Food and drinks, were terrific. I found an IPA that I finally like. "Lagunitas. ". Loved it. When my wife and I arrived at the hotel, it was far earlier than check it time. However, the clerk found a room that she said was ready, and for an additional $30.00 dollars a night, could put us in it, and it had a partial bay view. We opted to take the room, as it was only 8:00 a. M. And our check in was at 4:00 p. M. When we arrived at our room, I was really disappointed with how plain the room was. We paid $360.00 dollars a night, and there were just not really eye catching amenities. The bathroom was very small, and the bathtub and shower, was nothing more than what you find in a cheap apartment. On top of that, there was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door, which we both found extremely distasteful. We are not snobby people, but we just felt, at that rate, we should not find these things. The bed was extremely hard. I woke up with a very stiff back. I understand, this may be just a preference issue, but I really do think it was overly hard. When you rent a hotel room, you want value for your money. And we just did not think, that we got that value.
I was in Hyatt for 3 nights because I was attending a summit at Silicon Valley. The hotel is exquisite and the best in the world. Its an imposing edifice that stands out in Embarcadero. I also enjoyed the view of the financial district from my room. The breakfast is free and the concierge was very helpful. You'll have to experience it first hand to be convinced. Hyatt Regency is world class in every way.
The rooms were excellent in a good state the service is very friendly and the location for this great.
Excellent location to the main attractions of the City. Friendly staff.
Just spend a night there to attend an event. It was very elegant.
Very cozy and nice. Highly recommended.
The location is great, the hotel is very nice and shoronim. But the five stars are in advance, because the furniture in the room Vidavshaja species and it would be nice to make cosmetic repairs, the TC in the bathtub yellowed sealant and a little Otkleivajushhiesja wallpaper, which is also not very clean in the bathtub-on the web wall and smudges yellow on the toilet (not difficult The towels were not clean, either. But I'm going to take the five of them in advance. The location is very good. We couldn't figure out how to use the elevator at first: it turned out to be just inserting a card and it automatically counts on which floor you need.
Great choice for those who came to the conference. I'd choose another hotel for personal rest.
The structure is beautiful, luxurious and modern. It offers ample interior space in common areas and conference areas. In the whole building there is Wi-Fi, with a good signal. Being located in the middle of the financial district and just a short walk from the Metro, it is perfect to quickly reach the most important places in San Francisco.
The staff was very helpful Carpet always present that I hate, bathroom with bathtub and tent absolutely not in line with prices like that. View and location more than decent. The structure however has a style that could be considered modern 20 years ago, to date certainly not. Park your car in front of the hotel, in parking 3 without using an unnecessary valet service who tried to tell me that parking was 2 blocks while in fact you reach it in 20 seconds walk.
What a fantastic stay! Great staff, clean rooms and one of the coolest hotels I've seen in a long time. The location can't be beat. It's close to everything a visitor could want. And the train station is literally on the front door for anything out of walking distance. The rooms aren't huge, but the balcony view makes up for anything lacking. I can't wait to stay with the Hyatt Regency San Francisco again! Huge recommendation for anyone thinking about it!
The hotel is in such an excellent spot. It's right across from the water, and steps away for trolley car access. The wharf and per 39 are minutes away by that same trolley car. Our room had an amazing view from the 15th floor of the ocean and the Bay Bridge. Our room had a king bed that was very comfortable. The room was pretty standard, but set up very nice. We loved the hotel and plan on staying there again.
Rooms are big and nicely appointed. The views from the room are fantastic. The beers at the reception were crazy expensive… Good location. We walked to a few good restaurants. Also very easy to get here using BART.
They were very accommodating after my first room for not have air-conditioning. (I got a fan as they were fully booked. ) I was able to move rooms there next day. However, the fridge was full of old food, the glasses were filthy, and there was garbage stuck in one of the outlets. Then I was charged for the previous guest's visit to the bar. I know it doesn't seem like much, but so many little things add up to a very mediocre experience.
Rooms are utilitarian, but clean and modern. There was a hum coming from the wall that wouldn't go away; but they provided a white noise machine that helped drown it out. Loud trucks can still be heard even on the seventh floor. Location was great and made it a good value.
Love the view from the Regent Club! 360 degree views from the 17th floor. Balcony Suites include a large balcony, two bathrooms (one with a shower and tub), and tons of space. Walking distance to many tourist locations.
Amazing hotel with a great upscale feel and amazing interior. The hotel feels like a small city with a very open air feeling, restaurants throughout, and high rise rooms. The staff is pleasant and accommodating and the rooms have a very modern feel.
Stopped by to see the hotel while visiting SF. From our brief visit we were impressed with the location and layout. All of the staff we interacted with were pleasent and helpful. Definetly would stay here on our next overnight to the city.
The canteen is very big and nice, good service and very comfortable seats.
I had a amazing time! The hotel employees are very friendly and profession I called because I needed extra blankets and the concierge answer with my last name, I felt like I was a important guest. It's also in a great location. Overall great hotel.
Beautiful and very neat hotel. I can really recommend it as it is for romantic trip or business.
Beautiful views. Great location. The nicest staff. White noise machines?! It's just all intentionally thoughtful and lovely. Do yourself a favor and get a balcony so you can soak up every bit of the California weather.
I've stayed here twice; it's my favorite hotel so far. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The two I've stayed in have included a coffee maker (something numerous Hiltons I've stayed in have decided to omit) and a mini fridge. The hotel itself is beautiful, and there is a cafe on site that offers a good selection.
My fiancee and I stopped in to see the hyatt while visting the Super bowl City in SF. We were amazed how it looked and how well the customer service treated us even though werent guest yet. We definetly will be planning on staying there soon.
Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms. I wish Wi-Fi wasn't considered a premium item if you want it decently fast, but they do have a 5mbps free option. The location is great, as well, right next to the pier.
Stayed here with a group of friends the weekend of January 23rd. Unfortunately there were a lot of road closures in the neighborhood due to the upcoming superbowl. When asked about the advertised road closures, the staff was unaware of closure dates and specifics. Due to this they gave us bad information which caused a significant amount of inconvenience to my party. Other than that the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, and of a decent size. The beds were comfortable, and the blackout curtains were amazing! I'm not a fan of the cheap, small shower heads they use, and the iPod alarm clock dock was so old it wouldn't be compatible with anything made in the last 3 or 4 years. The hotel is currently remodeling the lobby bar, so there is a lot of construction noise. Not sure when it will be completed.
The location is quite unbeatable. I stay here every year and I've yet to get a room with a terrible view. Great staff.
I went to the 2015 new years party held at hyatt. The event center was pretty nice with lots of room. There was a lot of hotel staff on hand to help run the event smoothly.
This is a great hotel to come to when you're here for the weekend, not as busy on the weekends and I think it's a bit cheaper too. It's close enough to union square and the ferry building, and a bart & muni station are right there to take you anywhere else in the city!
As of Nov 29th 2015 they still had extensive renovations/ construction going on below the lobby. You can't see it so much as hear it. Other than that the hotel is really beautiful and worth checking out even if you aren't staying there!
Nice room, comfortable — except for the jackhammers that have been going since 7:30 am. I can't hear myself think. If you wonder why the price is so reasonable…
One of the best hotels in SF in my experience. Rates are reasonable and rooms are huge with super comfy beds. I was also given free two breakfast vouchers per room. The only downside was costly parking fees, but that applies to pretty much every where you decide to stay in downtown SF.
The regency is well situated. It is a large beautiful building and the rooms are nice. My view out my window was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a nice place for a technical conference.
I think he's the manager of the front desk. His staff were very helpful when I asked to get my phone charged as they advertised that they have the service to their hotel guests. However, he ordered not to provide the service to my co-worker. Not at all a service minded person and is only afraid too many of the non-staying hotel guests might be asking for the same service. The front desk of the hotel is not on the street level. Bad layout. Difficult to find your way around. Slow elevators. Low wall in the main conference hall, can't see the lower part of the screen. Don't go!
Really horrible customer service especially with reservations. Even when I reserve a day before arrival the room I requested is never honored. Front desk and manager are very rude in accommodating my needs. I am a loyal member since 2012 with over 15 visits to this hotel and I am constantly being lied to and placed in a room I would never book. I am beyond frustrated with this hotel and I will never stay here nor believe anything this hotel says.
We are platinum member and it was our 4th stay in this year. We asked for a late checkout which we should always be granted based on our status, and asked for 30 min extension as my son was not feeling well. Front desk person shown no remorse and told us to get out room on time. We needed up sitting down at the lobby until our son feels better. I reflect that I have become Hyatt member. I will try to avoid this location from and give other location chance. Just do disappointed!
Stayed here recently while in San Francisco to watch a Giants game. For the price, the service in the restaurant/bar was horrible … Except for Sergio, the only waiter that was courteous. The quality of the breakfast was on par with what you might get late at night at Denny's. Better to save @ $60-70 dollars and grab a breakfast sandwich from McDonalds. Location to AT&T park was convenient, but again for the amount of money you're going to spend … Stay at the Omni and take a cab to the game :)
Currently staying here and had some issues that I have never faced in any branded hotel — this place feels more like a motel. I am platinum on Starwood and Accor and they seem to inherently have better service. First time staying at a Hyatt. Check-in: Smooth and quick but reluctant on upgrades or even a view room Stay: Complimentary items take forever to arrive (shaving and dental kit) Dirty sink, sheets not changed daily Cleaning is not detail oriented. Coffee was not re-filled one day. BIG ISSUE I had: I requested two dishes and eating utensils and the in-room dining people told me it would be a dollar a piece? Something I never heard before. After asking them to proceed they said it'd take a half hour. Needless to say the utensils and dishes were never delivered. Pros: Hotel staff is okay. Dining and in-room dining staff needs to be replaced-not service oriented at all. Conclusion: Would not stay again.
We stayed for one night in June 2015. The two rooms that we had on the high level floors were outstanding. Even though we couldn't see either bridge from our balcony, the view was still great. The interior of the hotel is high end, and the service is outstanding (as should be expected from a Hyatt). The best thing about this hotel is its location; mass transit (to include cable car) right outside the front door. The waterfront with restaurants and stores is just a few minutes walk away.
Nothing wrong here. A great hotel with friendly staff in a can't-be-beat location. Even our non-premium room had a great view.
The staff was very courteous and helpful despite having to deal with a fire alarm which forced an evacuation of all 17 floors of the building. The room was comfortable and offered a great view of Pier 1/2. We loved the bed! My only real complaint would be the price for the room (we've stayed in rooms at other hotels that were as nice or even nicer for much less).
Staying 1 week for a conference. The hotel was disappointing. It was not particularly accommodating, and the set up in the lobby was not amenable to meeting up with other conference members. There was a false fire alarm in the middle of the night and the Sheets were not changed every time. I will not recommend this hotel for future conference meetings.
$10 for Wi-Fi in 2015 when I get it for free on my phone with my hotspot — it's just an inconvenience and insulting. Even McDonald's offers Wi-Fi.
For the price not bad, nice gym and pool area. The location is not that good, and if your tired after a trip and don't want to walk anywhere then the only place to get food is the sports bar on the atrim level. Room service closes during the hours of 2 thru 5, and the only other restaurant also closes at 2. It can also be quite noisy at times with lots of conferences. But saying all that, it was suited to me needs and have stayed many times before.
Other than the view. This hotel was way too expensive and the room had a terrible bed. I dont know where this is normal but valet parking is over 60 dollars a day here! I would rather go to a motel that provides free Wi-Fi and parking near here. no free Wi-Fi no free parking no free water. Goto san jose if u have a car! better hotels down there.
We stayed here December 2014 for four days. Had five rooms for the family christmas vacation. The good: Christmas decorations were awesome. The Santa there loved to drink pepsi instead of coke. The elevators were fast There was a white noise thing in the room to block out the traffic and city noise outside. Great location next to a bart station and the Ferry Building. It was very clean. The bad: -1 star for no provided Wi-Fi. (You can buy it for 15$ a day. Don't know why some hotels don't provide this for their customers. For the amount of time we all spend on digital devices, it is like saying that electricity and water are not provided and paying extra for them. ) -1 star for not having parking for guests (65$ a day if you want to park there. Might as well get a room for your car. If you're traveling to a city and need to park, you should be able to park at the hotel you're spending 250$ a night in. Having a building without adequate parking for the tenants shows incredibly poor design) -2 stars for the manager not contacting us like they said they would regarding an issue with booking. (We understand the clerk behind the counter couldn't help us, but telling us that the manager will get in touch with us and not following through?
Without going initially into all of the minutia about service, amenities, etc, overall my experience at the Hyatt Regency was bad because of a slippery shower — bathtub. I was standing in the tub/shower in room 931, and adjusting the bathtub spout water temperature to transfer the water to the shower. When I pulled up the valve to transfer the flow to the shower, the instant the water from the shower hit my feet, my legs went violently flying out from under me. I flew up and spun, hitting the edge of the tub with my hip as I flew out of the tub, landing with my upper body on the floor. I took an assessment of my condition, and I fractured my second toe, bashed up my left shoulder and right hip, and wrenched my back. Fortunately, I was not seriously injured enough to need hospitalization, but that was my good fortune; I could of as easily busted my head open on the floor, had a major fracture, or even be killed. Two days later, I am really suffering from the fall and my wife just noticed I have a 5-inch bruise on my left hip likely from the impact against the edge of the bathtub. The shower curtain was partially torn down and several of the wrings destroyed as they were torn off as the shower curtain (thankfully) partially broke my fall. There is a somewhat gross rubber mat provided which could have prevented this accident, but the mat was rolled up so I didn't really see it, and it was so gross I doubt I would have used it anyway.
This hotel was a disappointment. You would think a four star hotel with the prices as high as they are would be amazing. Unfortunately this was not my experience. We paid extra for a room with a city skyline but they gave our room away, and we were given a room with a tiny window that faced a wall. It looked nothing like the room they advertised on their website. When we spoke to the front desk about this, they pretty much told us tough luck since we booked through Priceline. They told us that we needed to call Priceline about our problem. Apparently booking through Priceline makes you a second class citizen at this hotel. In addition to this major issue, there are problems inherent to every room in the hotel. The sheets were poor quality and not cleaned well. There was a spot of dried food on our outer sheet. Also the shower had mildew in the tile. There was also an ice skating rink below us that blared music until midnight. Great location but poorly run.

RespondRooms are easy glazing only, therefore very noisy. Service is good.

RespondIn that year, there were guided tours for tourists in which included a visit to the hall of the hotel.
In it, stay for four days, was excellent. DRAMs in the hall, in view of the fountain and listening to the piano, unforgettable.
