Pretty decent place especially for business which is why I stayed there. Comfortable and mostly clean although the furniture has seen better days. The food is decent and the dinning room is functional if not extravagant. A limited but decent selection of beer and wine. Computers if you need them, very good Wi-Fi and good functional desk for those who have to work. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have an exercise room with 4 machines, free weights and weight machines. Good place for us worker bees.

I loved it here! There was a lot of business people staying here… so I felt under dress half the time I walked around, (I was on vacation) but that was no problem. They have a heated pool, spa, gym& free breakfast every morning from 6:30am-9am. The area that this hotel is in, is one of the safest in Carlsbad. I looked it up. Did I mention everything was a 15 min drive from this hotel. LEGOLAND, Carlsbad village, and other activities to do with your family! Also the rooms were great sizes, beds : pillows were extremely comfortable. I had a wonderful experience overall.

The bed was so comfy! I am definitely a 'Princess and the Pea' type sleeper and I approved the bedding arrangement. The complimentary breakfasts were amazing. Well organized, balanced healthy options, even kid friendly. The bathroom was immaculately clean as well. Typically I am too tall for the shower head and thankfully this time that was not the case. Did I mention the staff yet? They were awesome. All of them were very professional and courteous. Overall, I am very impressed.

A little worn on the edges, but comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable, and rooms large. I enjoyed the breakfast. The cleaning staff was very thorough, and politely made a towel bed for my toothbrush.

This Hyatt Place was a great hotel to stay in; the staff are so friendly, quick to help, and good at handling multiple guest requests at one time. The food you can order is delicious, and the bar, even though limited, has fantastic margaritas! The breakfast was amazing too! Room was comfortable and I was impressed by how dark it was able to get, even mid-morning.

The room was very spacious. The room came with a separate living area and a desk. There is also a small area equipped with a microwave, coffee pot and a fridge. The sheets and pillow cases were very clean. Complimentary breakfast was also included. The staff at this Hyatt is very friendly. Customer service was really great!

No reason to be way out here unless it's business, or family so they live and die on that market, as the property is no where near the beach. They do provide the level of service and the only downside is, not near good public transport. It's easy to get an Uber though and pretty inexpensive since it's near restaurants and shops. The staff is professional and well trained, crisp, efficient service that you expect outside of the beach areas. I had a nice conversation with the GM a few years ago, and it's a good bet if you need to be there, you won't have any regrets.

We stayed 6 nights and loved our stay, we had forgotten our preschooler floater and the front desk attendant Alex was so helpful and lend us some pool items. Breakfast was good, lines where long at times. This place is family friendly, Wi-Fi worked great and the jacuzzi was great after those long days out walking. They do have a hotel shuttle but I’d recommend you book days in advance bcs once you are there the spots are limited. All staff was friendly and very helpful, overall great stay and would visit the hotel and Carlsbad again!

Service was friendly and welcoming. The staff was able and willing to please the guests with room type and locayion within property. I really liked "can do" attitude of the front desk and housekeeper. No frowning, just genuine happy smile. Vibe was really good among the staff members. Arrangement of local van ride was important enough that they reached out to numerous occasions. The follow up was abive and beyond. Very helpful and accommodating. Rooms were clean and everything wad working. Light bulb change request was accomplished with in minutes. Breakfast was average and can expansion. Otherwise keep doing what you're doing. Thanks guys.

This is a great location that is close by to everything that you need. This is the first time that we have stayed here and after going would not be our first choice. The staff was friendly the rooms were a good size and quiet. The pool area was great. The downfall was that the room did not feel clean. Everything was surface cleaning in the room, we did not get the room vacuumed once during our six day stay and when we got there if feels as if we also walked into someone else dirty space. The walls had a sticky soda like mess and the window curtains were also covered in something. If just need a fine place to stay that is what you will get. It’s just fine.

Really nice place, the food is great! Breakfast is hot and fresh, bed is comfortable but the pillows are a bit too firm for my comfort level. Accommodations were nice, but they're missing some things that I've found at other hotels that make it feel more like home, like shower caps or shower gel, but overall a nice stay for the price.

Perfect for what we needed in lodging. The breakfast was surprisingly good. Has a small bar and attentive, friendly staff. After spending the day walking the San Diego Zoo Safari Park the hot tub and pool were perfect for our tired legs. Rooms are well appointed and large. There is a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the rooms as well as a desk with plenty of outlets including usb ports.

Our room was very clean, warm and inviting. The staff (Quincy) was kind, patient and very resourceful. Breakfast was perfect! Bed comfortable, no complaints. I would highly recommend this Hyatt.

This was one of the most frustrating stays I have ever had. It began as soon as I checked it. I went up to my room to find a mini construction site. The light above the mirror was all taken apart and I had the long fluorescent light bulbs sitting in the middle of my room as well as the light cover, a box with wires, some tools, and a ripped pillow case. I understand that things happen but really? Does no one check to make sure a room is check in ready before putting a guest in there? Well, then I went back and forth with the front desk and was told someone will be up to fix it right away. I waited for over an hour, then finally went to the desk to see what was going on as well as pick up my dinner and was told “yeah I guess maintenance already left for the day. Someone will fix it tomorrow, but don’t worry, we’re going to comp your dinner for tonight”. Because comping my $13 dinner is going to make up for the inconvenience and the fact that there’s still a mess in my room. Next day I leave to head out to my meeting at 8am. I come back around 5pm and guess what. Not only is the light situation not fixed, but housekeeping left my room door OPEN! I call the front desk to notify them of that and get a status update, my door being left open was completely disregarded and was met with a “we’re sending someone up now”. Well the man that came to fix it was awesome but told me no one mentioned the issue to him until just before he came up to my room. What the hell.

I thought I was in a bed and breakfast! Staff was attentive, very helpful and the seeing is pretty intimate. It was my first time Carlsbad. Physical plant had a few room issues: I had a few ants and the sink didn't drain well, another patron had a nonflushing toilet (and were IMMEDIATELY put in a new room when they reported the problem — I never reported mine because it was minor and I was hardly in the room). I would definitely visit again and found myself quite pleased.

I stayed there for three nights when traveling for work. My previous experiences with the Hyatt Place concept were very positive, so I was surprised that this location did not meet those expectations. The hotel room was very large and the space was used well. The in room TV may have been 60 inches. The room even gave the ability to open the window an inch or so. This was very nice because the weather in San Diego was awesome. I gave the place three stars because the furniture was worn and had few stains. The room needed painting and the mattress felt well used. On the positive side, the front desk staff was exceptionally warm and friendly. My company gets a good rate here and the hotel is very close to the corporate offices. So I will probably stay there again, but the hotel definitely needs a refresh.

This Hyatt is a 10 minute drive from Legoland which makes it a great choice for those going there. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and I enjoyed my stay.

Very good reception, good value for money, full breakfast, small flat the children beds (sofa bed), we have to prepare them ourselves and they not the equivalent in regards sheets and blankets… Other than that, clean room and all the staff is really at our little care!

Stayed in the hotel from over this past weekend for a family event and the stay was definitely enjoyable! From the spacious and cozy rooms to the great customer service me and my family experienced right as we walked through the front door! Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet place to stay for a night or even a weekend!

This hotel was ok for a quick visit to my hometown for the holidays. The room was spacious and clean with good water pressure in the shower and a comfortable bed. Parking was easy and free as was the Wi-Fi. The hotel was overrun with small children, with parents who let them run free in the gym (taking over machines and playing without supervision) and at the pool. The free breakfast was absolute chaos although the actual food was better than most free hotel breakfast. This place is affordable and comfortable, but if you don't have kids or don't like vacationing with a ton of children screaming down the halls I wouldn't recommend it.

Location was nice for the place I was working at. Rooms are comfortable and service was excellent. Would use again on next work trip.

Today I was really bummed to find out that the mold and air test came back as failed meaning I can't return home for days/weeks. All of a sudden I hear a knock on my door and there was a lady handing me cookies, hot chocolate and a card, she thanked me for staying with them and I was almost in tears, this couldn't have come at a better time. I absolutely love this hotel, the housekeepers take care of my room even with my crazy cat running around. Free breakfast in the morning, you can't ask for anything better. Thank you Hyatt Place for making my stay so special!

I was surprised how nicer this hotel is! Nice rooms are very new looking with comfortable beds. The food selections seem like an afterthought, but their pepperoni pizza was actually really good. Likewise the spinach salad. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Mostly family oriented. (Close to legoland). Place is clean and has up to date amenities. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is a plus, and of course gets crowded before everyone rushes to Legoland. Gave it 4 Stars just cause it’s a drive away from SD.

Great hotel! all the workers have been extremely friendly and helpful with every request we've had. Breakfast has been pretty good each of the 4 days we stayed. It's far enough away from town that the price is right, but close enough to the beaches that it's not a problem to commute. Very happy with our stay!

Nice place to stay. This is a very busy hotel and it seems that they expect a little too much from their staff. Don't get me wrong, they were great. But you could see them struggling to deliver above and beyond. The front desk makes coffee to order and manages the room service orders. I'd go back.

Nice room. The 4 of us were comfortable. Decent included breakfast. The TVs are cool — there is a panel on the side of the table with ports for all sorts of cables so you can plug in what you want to watch.

Great value, by far the best place we stayed at on our California vacation. Very spacious room with desk, sofa bed, mini fridge, cable television. Free hot breakfast, hot tub, pool, etc.

Stayed in room 327. Room was decent, I didn't hate it. Musty smell and stains on carpet and couch. Breakfast was decent but of course very busy at most times. It was free, so can't complain. The pool was warm, but closed at 4 pm one day of our stay for a private event. Customer service was pretty great. I probably wouldn't stay again because the room front sightly run down.

Just checked in… But so far, been great! Friendly, helpful gal at registration desk. Bar is adjacent to desk. Serve 'til midnight. There's a in-house cafe, open 24hrs. Heard pizza is good, but costs around $11 for a personal. Rooms are nice, spacious, and eco friendly. Have to use room key for any power to work in room. Interesting… If you bring a device that can connect to TV, such as a game station, DVD player, etc, it can hook up to TV! There's every common port for monitor on a panel next to TV.

1. Big red stain in the carpet. 2. Rock hard bed. 3. They call it "energy saving" they're just cheap. Powdered eggs that look like yellow feta cheese for breakfast. All things in the "buffet" were poor quality. Watery oatmeal. 4. Room smells like sweaty kids. The best thing about this place was the front desk guy. Very accommodating and professional.

We celebrate the mom's day in Hyatt place. They really do lots of effort for us. It is the best experience ever with Hyatt. Good breakfast and warm water of pool. But the crib I asked don't know how to use. So baby slept with us. Other than that, everything is good. I would recommend people to stay here if visit north county of San Diego.

The location was nice. The rooms were nice. There were no rooms available before normal check in and after check in time the rooms that they blocked off for my family were still not ready due to plumbing. So they tried to then separate us later upon checking in. The staff had changed and the new staff did not know of the issue and stated that she could not accommodate us to be on the same floor due to availability and after providing the card of previous staff member she all of a sudden could place us in a room on the same floor. This was only two rooms not many. I felt that the hotel should do what needs to be done to hold up to their "promise. "

Great breakfast buffet. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Kids had a blast at the pool, and it's a quick drive to Legoland.

It was a very nice hotel, definitely worth the price paid. I stayed there for a week with my SO. The breakfast was awesome. Only 4 stars because, at least in my room, the sink and mirror were outside of the bathroom which was a bit strange to me, and on the last day there was a LOT of noise from the room above ours.

We arrived early to spend the day at sea world. They stored our bags, all 15 of them, so they would not sit in the car. Then at breakfast they did not have our son's favorite thing on the menu. Wendy, one of the kitchen staff, over heard us tell our 5 year old that they did not have it today. He asked my wife to ask if they could make some. We told him no he would be fine. She went in the back without us knowing and then brought out a plate of sausage for him. It was very sweet of her.

Rooms are very clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious, and the employees aim to please with every request. Love this place and will come back.

I usually stay at the cheapest room possible. This place is great compared to any place I've stayed.

My room smelled like dog pee after 2 days. I didn't realize this hotel allowed animals. How do they keep corners of furnitures and sofa clean and urine-free? I requested the room to be cleaned on day 4 and day 5. The friendly staff offered to change the room when it still smelled. Avoid room 329 if posssible. My new room has certain smell of animal so I'm regretting paying $120 per night here. I was willing to pay extra for comfort but it doesn't feel clean. Hot breakfast is good.

Where do I start? I checked in at 2PM. I had requested a "Disable Accessible Room" (It's even on my printed copy) I was told, "Just because you requested it, it doesn't mean we can provide you with that room" STRIKE 1 Next, I went to my room and turned on the light switch at the door. No lights? As I entered the room, I found that you must insert your room card into a slot next to the wall switch to gain power. Now, when I say power, I mean power! NO LIGHTS, A/C or even a bathroom light! Strike 2 Getting ready for bed… If I remove the room card from the holder (the only way to turn off the lights) It also turns the A/C off? WTF? How do you sleep with no A/C or Heat? Or, if you get up to pee at night, there's no lights! STRIKE 3 I wouldn't stay here again for FREE!

Nice and clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. We didn't use the gym, but what we saw looked good. Solid hot breakfast included. Would recommend.

The hotel is Ubicadoncerca to Legoland. The breakfast included is quite complete. The rooms are spacious and the check in process is very fast. Has parking included.

Place seemed nice. Went there for a wedding after party. Unfortunately we were too loud and the party ended early.

Rooms were clean and as expected for this chain. Breakfast was good and hot. Check in process was a bit slow.

We had stayed at the place before and it was OK although the staffs were not as tentative as we hoped they were. It was OK ecause we understood the big gap between service quality between the States and offshore. This time, we got an $30 food & beverage offer card in the mail and though it would be a great complementary. So we decided plan a trip to take advantage of this nice little gesture. We arrived at 7:00 and my wife checked with the receptionist about the offer and she was told they would be gladly accept the $30 voucher. We settled in and placed an order for some snack. Thirty minutes later, I went to pick it up and the cashier told me that they can't accept the offer. I reasoned that my wife was told by the receptionist that the hotel is still honoring it. They cashier told me (coldly) that she was indeed that receptionist. She further told me that she talked to her manager and her manager had told her that the main Hyatt canceled the offer and no way Hyatt Place could redeem that voucher withe the main Hyatt. Most importantly, it was effective today. I was very disappointed not due to the $30 but due to the feeling being cheated. I usually would just pay the (fair) due and move on with the understanding that they receptionist herself has very little control over things like this. However, I decided to cancel my order this time simply because I wasn't offered any apology nor simpathy. Neither any attempt was made for a resolution. A 5% discount worth $1.

The location is convenient. The rooms are pretty clean. The service is good and the breakfast is delicious.

The room is great, but this 24/7 food menu they're doing is garbage. My first thought was that it could be a great, convenient option. My second thought was, since I'm staying in the hotel, would it kill them to put the food on a plate? To top it off the food seriously sucks. Bummer dude.

I think the Hyatt Place was okay. I think the rooms could use a better kitchen and bathroom. The parking lot could have more spaces as well. There was one TV in the middle of the room, but I think there should be two.

Great location. Great Hyatt Place amenities. They seem to go out of their way to be cheap at this hotel though. The energy conscious rooms seem like an overly dramatic attempt top have the lowest power bill on the block. And they need to update the bathrooms.

Location for me is stellar! It's only a couple of blocks from the office and in a super clean area of town. Rooms are nice! Everything is kept really clean. Service is exceptional!

I rated the hotel a 4 star but in reality I have to give it a 3.5 which was not an option. First the hotel staff were wonderful, always a good morning, how are you and a good night. The rooms were clean, with a decent sitting area, walk in shower which is such a plus. The cleaning staff were always polite. The lobby area was a little small but the dining area with seating outside was cozy, I liked that they had food available 24/7 but it was only available at the front desk and was limited. I know a lot of the comments mentioned how nice the breakfast was but sorry to say I would have to give it 2 stars, lacked in just about everything. The last two hotels I stayed at had a full breakfast bar including eggs to order, bacon, sausage, biscuits, lots of fruit and much much more, we ended up going out. I was told that the pool was heated but my granddaughter's lips turned purple, I only lasted 10 minutes before rushing to the hot tub to get warm. If you do not care about the amenities then I would absolutely recommend because of the staff and rooms but if the amenities are important you may wish to look at other places to stay.
