Worst most disgusting place ever! stained sheets, no customer service! the owner and management are horrible! my husband and I planned on staying over thanksgiving weekend. We stayed 8 hrs and payed for 4 nights. The room was dirty with blood stained sheets. The women at the front treated me as if it was my fault NOT willing to help. I have been trying to get even a PARTIAL refund and THE RED ROOF COMPANY IS REFUSING ME. I was told I would get a refund and when it didn't show I tried for a MONTH to get in contact with someone. When I finally did they said "The owner is refusing to refund ANYTHING". I even tired to dispute with HOTELS. COM (the room was not as described) and they didn't offer me any help either. Do not stay at any red roof inns.

We paid for 3 nights for a suite with 2 Queens and a kitchen.
The oven doesn’t work, the stove exhaust doesn’t work, no spatulas, no plates, no glassware, and the fan in the bathroom doesn’t work. No offer to move rooms or have maintenance fix any of the issues. Despite multiple requests to speak with the Manager she is still not available.
Biggest rip off in the Peninsula. Wish I could have cancelled but they charge you before you even check in!

Very, spacious, clean and quiet room.

The room was spacious, beautiful, and had great amenities. Painting and decor beautiful too. Included a kitchen area (with coffee machine, table, chairs, sink, oven, stove, pots/pans) living room (flat screen TV, queen size bed, coffee table, couch) bathroom (no tub), and closet.

Every staff member on duty during our stay went above & beyond. They let us use the laundry facility for later than usual so we could get a load done, then gave us change for the washer, and even lent us a corkscrew so we could open our wine! They were very kind and friendly, our room was very spacious and clean — the bathroom seems new and is gorgeous. The TV and all the plugs work great. The only negative was the quality of the Wi-Fi — it hardly worked in our room. Great breakfast options too.

Hot showers and newly renovated furniture. The area is friendly and comfortable. The breakfast was minimal but overall good. I especially liked the cleanliness of the room!

The room was wonderful. Honestly, it was perfect for what we needed, and exactly what I expected. Everything worked fine, and the room was clean. They are pet friendly with no additional cost. I would have left a 5 star review, but there were a few ants. They didn't bother us, so no worries.

I stayed here for my honeymoon and had a queen bed room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The employees were extremely helpful and quick to solve any questions, they even printed us out a map when we asked where there was good hiking. They provided a continental breakfast with a few cereals and breads. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

I was initially skeptical about this place but ultimately went for it. Not bad for a inn. Looks like they have renovated the place. Bathroom has granite sinks and wall tiles are granite as well. AC is wall unit and looks brand new as well. Paid 2X the price for Memorial Day weekend : (but even with that this was the cheapest hotel/motel in entire Monterey area. Sorry for the messy look in the pictures. Getting ready to go for a 17 mile drive ☺️☺️

Cozy hotel within walking distance from the beach! Complex was in the process of being remodeled, but it didn't hinder our stay, or take away from the appeal of the place. Clean room and friendly staff.

I usually stay at lower priced hotels and this has got to be the nicest one by far. I can tell they just rennovated. Small room but so comfy. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

THIS PLACE NEEDS TO HIRE A MANAGER THAT KNOWS WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS! Out of all the hotels I've stayed in, this manager is by far thee worst! She has NO concept of what customer service is. Very rude and condescending. If this place wants to succeed beyond what it is now, they need to get rid of that woman ASAP! All the remodeling in the world would NEVER make up for this woman's customer service. By reading the reviews, I can see I'm not the only one who's dealt with this woman's lack of customer service. She also refuses to give the name of the owner when asked. When you bring this woman anything that doesn't work, instead of saying sorry, I'm sorry let me replace that for you… she says EVERY TIME " I just bought that! How could it not work" As loud as can be, insinuating we broke it. Maybe if she didn't buy the materials from the dollar store across the street, maybe they wouldn't brake so damn easily! VERY CHEAP flooring that scratches so easily and then try to charge you for it. This place would be at least 3.0 stars if that woman wasn't managing that place. So many better places to stay around here with way better customer service.

Worst experience ever! Room smelled like dog piss and their only resolution was for us to spend AN ADDITIONAL $60 for an upgrade! No lateral move, no refund! 2018 stay away.

We had a very bad experience at this hotel. We rented a room for around $100 per night and booked for 2 nights. We arrived within 2 hours. There was a loud party going on in the parking lot. One end of the building was closed due to construction. We went aound and found the building a mess. There was loud fighting as we walked down the hall to our room. When we got to our room, we were almost knocked down by a very strong pet odor. We could not stay there due to this strong smell. We called the office and explained that this room was not acceptable. They said they would only move us to another room if we paid an additional $60 per night. We were not willing to pay extra because the room and the hotel overall was in such poor condition. We could have rented at a much nicer place for this amount. It was dirty, worn out and stinky! We returned our key immediately and asked for the manager. She charged us the full $238 even though we told them immediately that we were unable to stay there. The manager refused to give us the owner's name or contact info. We felt that we were totally taken advantage of and deceived. We went to another hotel for a similar price and it was clean and smelled good and was in great condition. We may have wasted $238, but hopefully this will help others who are considering staying there from making the same mistake. It is really frustrating that a business can treat their customers like this and have no remorse.

This is a quiet Motel! Offer weekly rates and are very friendly and personable! Thinking about staying for another week in order to visit the beach longer! Beautiful beach weather for February!

Stayed here for whale-fest 2018! Convenient location. The ground floor in our unit were being remodeled, ours, upstairs, had already been done. Big spacious room, clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds, and pet friendly. Definitely would stay here again. I would have given 5 stars except the hot tub was being redone too. No, I'll give it 5 stars anyway the staff and amenities makes up for the hot tub.

The rooms are nice and the service is great but they don't serve breakfast anymore.

I’d definitely give 10 stars if I could! The entire staff was wonderful. Mary in the front office is AMAZING not only exudes professionalism, but making you feel like family seems second nature to her. All our needs were met if not exceeded. Our room was spotless & quite comfortable. The hotel is literally minutes from everything worth doing or seeing here on the Peninsula, many within walking distance. We constantly have family & friends coming to visit from all over the states, & as far as Japan. With the newly renovated rooms I wouldn’t have them stay anywhere else.

Smells like an elder home. Not very lively. Not very many outlets either. Two different feeling beds too. So if you don't like a ruff bed. Not the place.

The friendly staff is about the only thing this place has going for it. If it wasn't for the nice staff checking us in this would be a one star review. The room we were in had a cracked window and either very thing walls or exceptionally loud people above and below us. The location is fine but don't plan on walking to anything in town.

The location is great, there is a Danny's within walking distance. Also there is a Safeway, Walgreens, Chili's, and a park close by. I stayed in a suite, I would compare to a small one bedroom apartment. It had a kitchen with dining area a living room and bedroom. A walk in shower, no bathtub. I would definitly stay here again.

Friendly, helpful front desk staff. Room was clean and ready. Wi-fi where I was was pretty reliable. Bathroom was clean and adequately supplied. They had supplied a power strip next to the desk, which compensated for limited accessible wall outlets. This was a good value, and it was fully booked.

The hotel was perfect for the amout we spent. The room was clean & well stocked. The staff were very nice and helpful. Over all we had a good experience and would stay again.

Staff friendly, relatively quiet place, breakfast "continental" simple, but… the old and dark rooms, whose carpet is worn and filthy, are so cramped that it is problematic to put a simple suitcase. So small that it is impossible to fully open the toilet door. So tiny that they are not equipped with a bathroom but a shower enclosure built into a wall! All for a high price, the real thing… of mouth.

The beds were very comfortable and soft. Rooms were on the smaller end but still well kept and does what a hotel room needs to do! Breakfast was simple fit and very good, and nice staff!

Decent for the price. Room was clean (besides the paint peeling and dirty handprints on the door) and staff were friendly. Breakfast was limited to cereals and donuts, but there is a very nice expresso and latte machine. My one complaint is that the walls and roof a pretty thin. You can especially hear everything the upstairs people do loudly… and I mean EVERYTHING. Bring some earplugs or something so the honeymooners don't keep you up at 1am like what happened to me. If you have kids, teach them the birds and the bees before you go or you'll have some explaining to do.

Room was fine for price. Bathroom floors could use more attention and a non-slip surface in the tub would be nice.

Horrible. Just don't. Tried to overcharge me and put multiple holds on my credit union account. If we didn't catch it and verbally tell the front desk to fix it, we may have been stuck paying over $300 more than necessary. Even after we checked out, they tried to put another $50 worth of holds on our account. Put us in the red with our bank and put a dark cloud over our 3 day vacation in Monterey. But wait… there's more! When we first arrived they tried to put us on the 2nd floor even though we requested a 2 queen bed handicap accessible room when we booked through a 3rd party website and there were none left. We ended staying in Rm 108 a regular 1 king bed with a roll away (they waived the $25 fee) on the first floor that was dark, dingy and depressing. We were then able to switch to a 2 queen bed room (still not handicap accessible though) that was recently remodeled, spacious, and clean. The stay would have been nice if we had this room to start and didn't feel like we had to monitor our bank account and have them on speed dial for all the attempted overcharging. If you must come here pay in cash. There's a fine line between their system's "issues" and credit card fraud.

As I arrived at the inn it was very welcoming and comfortable. Easy to find parking and guest services. The hotel desk was very nice and was a simple process to check in. Room was clean and inviting. Only issue is bath tub had no plug, office chair is a little old and worn. And no room service.

Second time here and the front desk actually did a great job this time around. Gave us the room we booked online. 2 Queen beds, downstairs and it was very roomy. Plenty of parking. Over all we had a great 4day stay with Red roof. Will definitely stay here again.

Perfectly fine, good value, breakfast not up to much but ok for the price. They are in the process re modelling so give them a chance.

Pet owners beware advertise a very nice room but not a box in a room stuff all the way in the back I feel like I'm going to be murdered here not worth it or $200 this is a complete rip off.

I am very surprised about all the negative reviews. We didn't expect much, and were amazed how good it actually was: clean, nice furniture, new appliances, fresh carpet= clean air (this one is especially important to us). I am wondering about who wrote all the bad reviews? Maybe the owners of many hotels nearby? I don't know, but I will recommend this place to anyone.

Room given not as pictured. Much smaller, no carpet. Bathroom sink stopped up when run the water, toilet wobbly even using. Internet/Wi-Fi weak to non-existent. Stated serves breakfast between 7:30-10:30am when went to the dining area found door locked, no one there and nothing put out (looked in through glass door). No coffee made, no milk, juice, breakfast eats or dishes/utensils.

Ridiculously bad customer service. Cheap tv's. Bed felt like it would break and was very uncomfortable. Fake wood floors. Dirty balcony. Cheap, rough towels. Dim lighting in room. Had to take the shades off to light the room appropriately. Also, the key didn't work 80% of the time. Need I say more? Except, skip this place on your search for a decent nights stay.

The maids are not to be trusted. I forgot my bath robe in the room, I called the hotel to inquire about it, the desk clerk said that he would check with housekeeping. He called me back the next day and said that it was not turned in and suggested that I may had left it somewhere else. I went no where else except home. One of the house keepers kept it. That is a fact! I will never return and I do not recommend this hotel. On top of the robe being stolen, the breakfast sucked!

The place is dirty they don't make the right cleaning. Things like soup or shampoo they give you one for three people and looks like cheap amenities. The price is really high at least on Monterey Car Week. I choose this because when I went to the Red Roof Inn Laredo it was like a 4 star hotel. Really disappointed of the firm.
