Immediately checked out after bed was infested with BED BUGS! Came in on business trip as 3 adults. Was told we could only have 1 car on property. Lady at front desk was extremely rude and had NO social skills. Place is dirty and the city of Ventura county needs to inspect this property. Not a safe place at all…

If you read through the other reviews, you will see a pattern. I am not the only person who has experienced this. Woman behind the desk accused me of using a fake credit card for an online booking rather than just asking for me to confirm my card number. Clearly I typed a number wrong in my online booking. No big deal right? WRONG. I got my card out to make the payment at the desk, but she continued to insist that I was using a "fake credit card" and asked me "why would you do that" without even taking my card to confirm it. I tried to be friendly and laugh it off, because I wanted the room, but she continued to attack me and insisted that I was trying to somehow defraud her. The craziest thing is I was actually handing her a credit card trying to pay for my room. She just kept getting more and more animated, and finally I turned around and left. I have never been so offended by hotel staff in my life. I should have known from the other reviews to stay away, I didn't expect such a bad experience before even seeing my room. Stay away.

Worst experience. She's already around 9 o'clock at night. I started out and started taking care of us, unwilling and in bad ways. We had booked in Booking, when we arrived two of our credit cards (usual in the us with cards from another country) and we asked for an ATM to get money since it was 73 dollars and we only had 70 in the wallet, we did not let us pay 3 the next day. We just found an atm and it was out of order so we came back and told him he'd try another card, he told us he didn't plan to try any more cards, got angry and told us to go in a very bad way. We were left hanging at 9 pm, to look for another hotel, hopefully bookiBo how you always respond to such a situation.

Gross disgusting filthy dont ever stay there. Tv didnt work sink was clogged. Furniture from trash. Dirty everywhere and it stank so bad.

I do not put a 0 because I can not,,, we have traveled in many countries and we have visited after 4 weeks in the USA Numerous hotels in which we have spent little and have been very well and comfortable. This is definitely the worst I've ever been in. Bad smell, dirty, old,,, dirty and peeled carpet and toilet bowl full of urine because they hadn't cleaned and prepared the room. Worst of all,,, the owner. When we told her, she got aggressive, saying we hired a smoking room and dealing with liars. ( (we don't even smoke) ). Run away and don't stay here!

I was expecting it to be wonderful but the lady up front was not nice at all my kids and me were devastated to not sleep in tonight. She didn't want to give a room because I had kids for one bed it was to much for her to give a room I wouldn't even recommend this hotel. Bad no stars.

The front desk clerk is soooo rude! Shes not courteous at all. I booked my stay there online. I forgot my id, but I have other id's to show. She didnt accept it and yell at me. She wants dmv id only. So I had to cancel my reservation that cost $9 to cancel. Bottom line is DONT COME TO THIS INN. They have rude staff. I could rate this place — 000 stars!

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The carpets are so disgusting, you HAVE to wear sandals/shoes inside just to keep your feet clean. The metal piece of the shower drain was literally broken and no longer attached to the shower's floor; if you weren't careful, the metal piece would become detached and leave a gaping hole where you could accidentally step into and injure yourself quite badly. The shower head was permanently set at a setting which JETS water at you, causing quite an unpleasant showering experience — not to mention, the shower (basically the entire hotel, too) is one of those things that makes you just feel dirtier after you've come in contact with it. Shady people were found in this hotel area. The only good thing about this hotel was that room service remade the beds while we were out. Which reminds me — the beds were the most uncomfortable and LOUD beds I've EVER slept on. I tossed and turned all night because the beds sagged terribly. For $83/night, I guess we shouldn't have expected much, but I didn't know that it would be such an absolutely disgusting place. Could not wait to leave.

Good service from manager and her staff. The room was good for the price we paid. We are very satisfaid with our stay here.

Got booked a smoking room we didn't want lol wasn't too bad with the windows open. Water went back and forth from cold to hot. Cigarette burns in furniture and sheets. But overall the experience wasn't a complete nightmare, we found a cheap place to stay the night that was exactly that. A cheap place.

Horrible rooms, you will be asked if you want to "party" (great if you are into that), do not bring kids to this hotel and don't complain about noisy people at all times of the night/creepers sneaking up on you in the middle of the night and lingering or you won't be getting any kind of refund. Worst hotel experience ever! Travelocity lies about almost everything, you can see the ocean from the second floor and it is within walking distance of the beach.

Do not stay here. The pictures they post are not what the rooms look like. Dirty rooms dirty carpets dirty bathrooms. Torn lamp shades, food on the floor, holes in door covered with toilet paper, wall paper peeling off wall, carpet needed vacuuming. Room stunk, front desk was very nice at first until I pointed out that room was not what was advertised then she was rude and told me I could leave, I asked if she was going to refund my money as I was only there for 10 minutes max she said NO. As I began taking pix of the room she told me she didnt like customers like me and told me to LEAVE NOW. She gave me a voided receipt so we will see if she voided it and charged me for voiding it. We. Ooked 2 rooms, both rooms disgusting and dirty. Were all itching bc of fleas from the rooms. Like I said we were only in the rooms max 10 minutes. Cancel your reservations.

First they tried to put us in a single qween room then argued with us because we paid for a 2 qween room then when we got in there "house keeping" left the window open and so I tried to turn the heat on and it didn't work so I was going to all for another room but was then worried about getting kicked out so we toughed out our first night and the next morning I went to the office to ask to be moved to a room with heat the woman behind the counter became hostile and asked us to leave. So Don't I repeat don't stay here it's not worth it and don't give them you're money they don't deserve it!

Charming vintage furnature and decor, but staff rushes you out before checkout time.

Shady neighborhood, a lot of street walkers, some constant tenants. Some bad rooms but a few ok ones do not get 111 it was not to par. Lock your doors and put your belongings out of site b4 leaving tour car.

Unless you are destitute, do not stay here. The place is filthy. It smells of cigarette smoke and has the burns on the carpet and bed spreads to prove it. Our shower stall tiles were cracked and missing. We lasted 10 minutes and got our money back, so we luckily were able to find a better place for not much more money.

PART I OF II: Salutations to whomever comes across this review, as you as I was not long ago are looking at this establishment for its affordability. However I feel It would be doing a great disservice to the public to not share my experience with this place, so pull up a chair, grab some snacks because this is going to be a long one. Now before I begin a quick disclaimer. For a budget motel at $70 a night, I certainly wasn´t expecting the Hilton, or the Roosevelt or anything like that. I was however expecting a reasonable degree of quality, however this expectation was quickly and swiftly thrown out the door (if we could OPEN the damn thing, but we´ll get to that shortly). Things got off to a rocky start from the get-go. My girlfriend and I booked into stay here, upon arrival; we paid the money, and were given the key to our room. The first slice of this train wreck pie came in the form of the broken, mangled, but still somehow functional air conditioner that looked like a piece of Soviet engineering pulled out of Chernobyl itself. The second problem came in the form of water, hot water that is. Upon attempting to run a cooling, effervescent stream of cool water to cool my burning face on a hot day, I discovered the tap ran only scalding hot water, and no amount of twisting and turning could get the cooling river of southern California´s lacking freshwater going. The fact that the decorative thing on the tap broke off seconds later was merely icing on the cake.

Horrible! Absolutely, with out a doubt, the worst hotel l've ever been to! It was dirty, stained linens, rusty bathroom & the staff (one in paticular) was extremely rude, she asked us to move rooms, during & then after completey disrespected us! I strongly suggest for no one to pay for a room here!

I personally use their rooms for swinger parties and orgies on weekends. The interior of the rooms is a bit old but the beds are decent for fun. Thank you, Travelers Beach Inn for your service.

To noisy, not really quiet at all, the online price said 65 a night. They failed to mention the ten dollar tax fee on top of it. So you'll be paying 75 instead. But I notice he didn't give me a receipt so I wonder did he charge me the extra ten because I was black. The untrustworthy look he was giving tells me yes. And here's the icings on the cake. They take your Driver's license and you don't get it back until you check out. Good luck.

I initially booked tonight with them as my departure day set for my arrival day They were gracious enough to allow the change without any fee The room was very clean, very comfortable, and provided all the amenities one would expect from this sort of establishment I would gladly stay at this facility, again.

A friend rented a room at the traverlers beach in. The management came up and said we had to leave we Said we r helping our friend with his stuff and we r going to leave. The next morning we went to our friends to help him Check out he had the room until noon. So we stayed in his room until check out time. The management came upbefore check out time to talked to our friend. About his lady witch he had to pay $20 for her staying with him add to the price of the room. Management said that she got to go and he said Iam getting her stuff to give to her. Then management said to our friendu u got to go too he said let me get my stuff. He tryed to shut door and management walk right passed our friend walk right into room and said see they also stayed here all right. We said no we just got here we r helping out our friend with his stuff. She said u all get out now. So we did. They shouldn't be able to enter the room until u r fully checked out. If u have noon to be out they should not enter your room sooner. Our friend didn't get to stay until check out time and his room was entered by management before noon with that is what time he had to check out. She was very rude and I also got to see how they clean there rooms when u have checked out. When there is a empty room which u have checked out. They don't strip the sheets or blankets to be washed. They use the same dirty sheets and blankets that the person who rented that room before u. They only wash the towels.

This was one of the nicest motels we stayed at for the while trip (8 days) all the way from Wyoming. We will definitely be returning. The lady in the office was the sweetest and friendliest lady ever. And yes, that is our car in the picture.

This is your bare bones hotel for a quick night rest and get out quick the next day. Things are on the rundown side — the rooms and building. Front desk person is a Middle Eastern man who looks like a butcher. Not to say he's unfriendly, just the look is a bit gross. On the other hand, location is good — near town center and ocean.

You get what you pay for. It is a horrible place to stay. The women in front is extremely rude, she would give you the evil look even if you were polite. The rooms are terrifyingly disgusting. The sheets were dirty and not washed. Smelled like mold. I swear I saw bed bugs which is nasty. The bathroom was by far the worst, the cleansing was terrible. I was afraid to sit on the toilet and the shower floor was stained and dirty. The rooms and staff are very uncomfortable. We did not even stay the night, we left and spent money on a great hygienic hotel. Ladies and gentlemen, spend an extra $50 for a clean respectable hotel. Overall, worst hotel and worst experience ever.

Rudest staff ever. Small, dark, dank rooms. No toiletries. The older woman there is the rudest woman I have ever met. Yells at guests for parking in the lot. Website advertises pool… no pool.

This is a "Dive" hotel. There's shampoo, soap, clean towels and hot water. This place is "no frills" save for the pool. Holes in the carpet, peeling mirrors and what not but I would stay there again as they were very nice, it's on the cheaper side and very close to downtown. Great "walk score".

The lady was extremely rude and did not honor my military ID or my online reservation. When I showed her the email, she said she had vacancies but wanted to charge me even more money. She claimed the price did not include tax which the email clearly stated it did.

A little unfriendly! We had no Wi-Fi in our room and they did not really care… in the end we had to sit outside if we needed internet. Not very clean either, wouldn't recommend that place!

Great location. The room looks a little bit poorly but for that money not bad! The sheets and towels was clean and smells fresh! Having a swimming pool. No breakfasts including!

This motel is nothing that is described online. I grew up in Ventura, was gone for 6 years when I returnex for a visit it was summer all hotels were booked. Went online found this ine and it sounded really nice fir the orice was. Good and the rooms loiked nice from picture and had pool for kids so I decided I would stay there made a reservation. I looked for it up and down Thompson blvd onlynto find that I have passes it 3 times. I was. Shocked. Let down and so disappointed that I could stand it. Gave it a shot tjey give the one room from the picture to u and them put put you in a nastynroom where hype needles were all over the room smelled gross and nast carpet dead rat in pool. Mymkods and I slept with our pants tucked into our socks and shoes on and wore long sleeve. Shirtsmwith hooded sweatshirts to cover our heads bought new sheets from store that day took bed spread off the bed put our sheets w of them new over theres a slept bunddled up and lights on we didnt want bugs cockroaches to crawl. On is while we slept. Soon as 6 am hit we left never to return again. I felt bad for the tourists from europe switzerland and other countries see this place and get here and see this place is a dump, we spoje to them they found the hotel on line like we did. But no other place to stay when they ate traveling the USA on a budget and this dump was already programed. You can stay much nicer place for the price you pay there.

I was completely disrespected by the owner. I couldn't have been more offended if she slapped me in the face. I had booked earlier in the day and paid previously, as I showed her on both my phone and the printed pages. It clearly stated I owed nothing. She then immediately tried to get me to pay AGAIN and was instantly rude. Without provocation she told me to 'just get the keys from (priceline) then'. I am the most non confrontational person ever, but I told her I would just cancel my booking and go elsewhere. She treated another man with the same issue the same way. I can't believe they're still in business. We are in Ventura often and this will never be another stop for us. I asked her to return my license photocopy and she refused, I don't want someone that rude knowing where I live. She really had no need to be so uncivil, but she immediately became snide after I tried to show her my paid statement.

NO DOGS ALLOWED! Never said that on the web site as I booked this room. VERY MAD! I am on a tight budget so I figured I would get what I pay for as far as gambling on the room (and after reading other reviews). But, when I checked in there was a small sign stating no pets (too late to cancel and cant afford to go somewhere else). I told the lady in my defense that her web site DID NOT state that when I booked. She was very, very RUDE. My dog is small and very quiet, she even saw my kennel. The room itself was ok. My daughter did get bug bites on her that I'm not sure what from. You could hear everything outside as if the window was open. There were people smoking and it was coming thru our air conditioner which made me mad again since my daughter has asthma. I will not stay here ever again. I would be better of parking at a Walmart and sleeping in the back of my jeep.

DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BASED ON NOTHING: The woman at the front desk was beyond rude to guests and even turned a confirmed reservation away stating "It is my right, I will not rent to them! It is my right! " simply because she did not like the way the guys in the party looked; claiming it was because one of them had a valid, current US passport which she declared was "Not legal. ". Was thoroughly disgusted that I had spoken with the same woman the day before to confirm the reservation and request a ground floor room and she confirmed and was pleasant enough and said she would add the note. However, upon the party walking through the door she changed her mind completely. Very embarrassing to have happen to my clients! Upon calling Hotwire to get a refund for the reservation (since my clients were not allowed to check into their room), I called her to find out what the reason was, I calmly asked why my client was not denied a room. She interrupted me and just started screaming "IT IS MY RIGHT! IT IS MY RIGHT! ", then hung up and did not answer the phone again. Hotwire was kind enough to cancel the reservation without hassle because they too could not get a hold of her during all of this. Utterly disgusting that in 2015, people like this still exist. I will never go back, recommend, or say nice things about this place. Ever.

This place is horrible. I got bed bug bites all over my arms and hands but the lady insisted that there was no problem with the room. My mom even found two bugs on our beds, and wrapped them in paper towel to show the lady. Guess what? She tried to grab the paper towel away from my mom. I don't blame her on the condition of the room, but her attitude was so rude.

It's OK. Lady was rude. Room was OK kinda dirty. The shower water stunk so bad like sewer :/ one bed was broken and sunk in so much like someone jumped on it. Pool smelled funky too.

Don't stay here! My fiance drove in at 11:15 pm and her reservation was cancelled WHILE SHE WAS WAITING FOR SERVICE! They obviously booked her room hoping she would not show up, and when she did they sent an email cancelling her while she was waiting for service in the lobby. After reading other reviews I am glad she was cancelled and left!

Worst motel I've ever been to. I'm ok with cheap room or possibly disenchanted front desk workers, but the lady was extremely rude, the room was dirty, the bed was broken down and crappy, the Toilet never stopped running, there was something that looked like blood on the curtains, the furniture was stained and scratched as looked like people put their cigarettes out in the drawers. My husband said he'd be more comfortable there if he was actually selling crack from the room.

You can only ask so much for the rate they are offering. That being said, one should expect the owners (who also operate the front desk) to display some level of customer service. These owners have NO CLUE how to treat a customer. They are extremely rude, and treat guests like they are nuisances.

If your being cheap about a hotel you can't complain that the beds suck and it needed paint ten years ago or that the people behind the counter are rude, yet, here I am doing so.

I'm writing this on behalf of my daughter, with whom I just got off the phone. She is currently heading to another motel. Her boyfriend took her to Ventura for a birthday trip, and since they are on a tight budget, chose this nightmare of a motel. The woman that runs the place was rude to her upon check-in, accused her of lying about the BEDBUGS my daughter clearly pointed out to her (which she proceeded to smash with her fingers and say they weren't bugs). This woman also accused her of other vile things and called her an effing b@#$ on her way out the door. There was no refund, obviously. I called this motel, tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and ask what the problem was, she screamed obscenities at me, and hung up on me. It bothers me that my daughter is now driving around a town she's never been to on her birthday. Unfortunately, she is young and naive and assumes the best of everyone.

For $ 60 a night say that I expected was his. Bed not too comfortable, old room.

I totally Agree with Jake. my girlfriend, my buddy, his wife, and i. Stayed at the travelers beach inn. Yes it's not a ramada, best western, motel 6, or budget inn. It is family owned. You do get what you pay for. Of all the reviews I have read bot h here and other places. I do not and did not see or experiance any of the bad issues that everyone else had. The family that runs the travelers beach inn, is the most friendly personable people that run a motel, that I have met in a long time. We are visiting ventura again this year and will deffinatly be staying there. The motel mgmt. Like all other motel hotel chains have simple easy going not to hard to follow rules for their establishment. The rooms werent the most perfect or the best, that we have ever stayed in but they were clean. I have had the opportunity to talk to the owner mgr of the inn. And have nothing but praise for their efforts at running the inn as well and as caring as they do. If you wish to have a ritz carleton plaza hotel room for the price of a motel 6. Hahahahaha good luck finding one. If you pay a very reasonable motel price in ventura county, dont expect gold trims and perfect "Ritz Carleton" rooms and amenities. For the price I paid for the four o f us to stay in our nice sized room, I was surprised that we even had cable tv, on a 27 " flat screen lcd tv, a coffee pot that was in great working order, a dorm sized refrigerator that worked very well.

I think the other reviewers here are failing to review this place for what it is. It's not a Best Western or Holiday Inn, it's a tiny cheap family owned hotel. My girlfriend and I rolled into Ventura and found ourselves needing a room for night, unprepared for surf season tourism, and found maybe the last room in town here. The prior reviews had frightened me. When we arrived, the Indian woman at the desk (owner, I assume) had a thick accent but was very nice, and gave us a small discount for being polite to her. Our room and bathroom were very clean and well stocked, soap, towels, the usual. Hard mattress, but I can deal for a night, and there was a newish LCD TV. In the morning before checkout we enjoyed breakfast at a lovely cafe down the street. This place isn't in a bad neighborhood, there's just a liquor store across the street where people you don't even need to speak to might smoke and talk in the parking lot. Verdict: Great, for the price and time. Maybe because of the bogus reviews we got a clean room (and maybe the last in town) for $60 during surf season. If you need a room for the night, don't be frightened away from here. That being said, if you can't deal with being in view of low rental apartments and a liquor store, and if you automatically think people in clothes bought at Walmart that smoke cigarettes will rob you or break into your car to smoke meth, drive on.

We stayed here and it literally smelled like someone had defecated all over the room and then sealed the doors and windows, it was horrible! There were no towels, the pillows were flat and the duvet cover had a million cigarrette burns! This place was not even worth $20! DON'T STAY HERE! They also have people living there! EWWWW.

This place was sketchy from the time we pulled in. Let me start with the room, it was dirty, there were shoe prints all over the wall and door where it looked like someone was trying to hold the door from someone trying to break in. The sink didn't work, there was a bloody palm print on the back of the door. The room in all was disgusting. I saw a drug transaction take place as well as hookers being picked up at the store across the street and heading back to the hotel. This is a place where local drug dealers and hookers live full time. But what REALLY took the cake was the crash we heard at 6:30 am, we later found out that a lady jumped out the window to avoid harm. There was blood on the curtain, window and wall. Avoid this place if you value your life.
