What an incredible experience … we went to a 90th birthday party. And my band played!? The food was to dieeeee for. Everyone at the hotel was sooo accommodating! We loved Stephanie. Priceless scenery! Clean Quiet and comfortable! Bar/restaurant has great drinks and dishes. The staff here is amazing… especially Management! Talk about putting on their company t-shirts on. These guys make sure you are well taken care of! Great stay!

My friends 5 year old daughter needed to use the restroom, they were told no and shown the door. They were regular customers but they wouldn't be back and neither will I.

I love going and sitting on the patio and looking out at the ocean. They good is also delicious. Every time I go I have to order the calamari. It’s so delicious with the pineapple. The only thing I don’t love is the drinks are inconsistent. Sometimes they are amazing and tasty but the last time I had two different cocktails and they were very watery with no flavor.

Spent the weekend there after being evacuated from a fire back home. What a perfect escape! The hotel is beautiful and it’s location on the beach is amazing. The room was spacious and lovely. Service was excellent. They even gave us an evacuee discount. We can’t wait to return for a staycation soon! Highly recc this hotel.

Love the fire pit and the sound of the waves. Really big bar area. Rooms are decorated nicely, good space, interesting bathrooms. A little noisy with freeway traffic but I will get used to it. Room service good choices!

We stayed in the king suite with an ocean-view balcony. The room was magnificent. There were two refrigerators and a microwave, a living room with a pull out couch, a bedroom with a king-size bed, two sinks in the bathroom and a beautiful view of the beach. The hotel was very clean and the hotel gave us free drinks because it was our wedding night. I will definitely be staying there again. The hotel had a pool and a gym but we did not go to those. They have valet parking with security and cameras in the parking lot. Staff were very nice & they let us get a late check-out. I paid for a hotel room for our photographer and I was happy that she could check in without us there. The Mexican restaurant that is attached to the hotel was very good as well. It is right on the beach, we went swimming at 2 a. M. In the ocean. My only suggestion is when you're paying $400-$500 a night to have a continental breakfast. If they did have a continental breakfast they did not tell us & I did not see anything about it. The breakfast card that they left in our room to hang on our door was breakfast that you had to pay for & it which was very expensive.

My fiancé and I decided to go to Ventura for the weekend and relax. We were told check-in is at 4pm. We arrived at 4:45pm, checked-in, and were told there was a huge wedding on the top floor, went up to the room. The room hadn’t even been cleaned. We called to let them know the room was dirty from the previous guests and told us to come down to the Lobby. We were given a room on the 8th floor right next to the bridesmaids and groomsmen. We called and told them that we would l…ike to stay in our initial room once it got cleaned. The gentleman at the front desk was kind and helpful. He stored our luggage in the storage room while we went out and took a stroll on the beach. After 45 minutes or so, we went back and our room was finally ready. The lady at the front desk gave us our room key with 2 free drinks and free breakfast vouchers. That evening we decided to go to the hotel’s Restaurant “La Cosecha” because it was convenient and after the whole ordeal at checking in after an hour drive, we did not want to walk or drive out to a restaurant. The restaurant itself was not busy but waited 4 minutes for someone to notice us and sit us down, he did apologize for the wait. Like I said, the Restaurant was not busy, they were serving 3 other tables. The waitress was nice, took our order. Food was thumbs down. Drinks were meh.

Loved my stay at the Crowne! Rooms were clean, staff very helpful, spent several hours in their sitting/ bar area. Waitresses and staff were great! Our waitress Nikolia, was very attentive the whole time!

Paid a lot to stay here, inside was nice but couldn’t sit on the balcony because nasty.

Nice hotel with plenty of amenities to best of which is its proximity to the beach and wharf. There are no free parking options. $8 per day for self-park and $16 per day valet. We did the valet since we were splitting between four people and entry to the hotel was easier. The rooms were nice, clean and well care for but a bit cramped. The bathroom felt more like a closet due to the sliding door but it was fine. The staff is very helpful. The bar staff was a bit overworked and we had to ask numerous times to place drink orders. There seemed to be a preference towards those ordering food along with drinks but that may not have been the case. The pool was the perfect temperature and has a nice shower. Towels ran out quickly but they were restocked when asked. I will return again.

Wonderful hotel. Nice and helpful staff. Clean rooms with a fridge and microwave. Our room had a great view of the pier and ocean. Only downside is it's right next to the train tracks. And the train is loud. Other than that the hotel is great. Close by food, beach, downtown and the Ventura county Fair grounds. I've been there twice. I find waking up to a train invigorating.

Usually the stay at the hotel have been great. This last time was lacking in the housekeeping department. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday our room was cleaned until about four in the afternoon. That was only after I went to ask the front desk about the room being cleaned. The guy at the front desk just looked at me and asked if I still wanted the room clean. Our room wasn’t cleaned because the housekeeper was too busy on her cellphone. It does not take two hours to clean a room. The renovation was great. The rest of the staff was super accommodating. Some needs to address the housekeeping issue.

I'm staying here for a conference. The location is great — next to the beach and downtown Ventura. The meeting rooms are beautiful. All the rooms have a nice view. The conference I attend is here every other year and I always look forward to staying here.

The staff was friendly and helpful. It's right on the beach. They have a cute little restaurant inside with a bar. The rooms were really nice. I just wish I didn't have to pay for the parking.

We attended the Ventura College Foundation scholarship event at The Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach in the Bay View ballroom on Saturday, May 12th. The views from the ballroom were AMAZING, to say the least. The hotel is well kept and seemed to have been renovated in the last few years. The only gripe we have was their elevator situation that day with one less working elevator and made getting up & down from the Bay View ballroom quite tedious, not to mention tested one's patience. There is public parking immediately next door and they validate if your eat at the Mexican restaurant downstairs or at the Beach Bar, I presume. Didn't stay at the hotel but they do allow pets to stay with a fee, which is great!

They refused to let me drive my car into the parking lot. They insisted I had to let the valet drive my completely restored 1968 Cutlass when the night before I was allowed to drive it in on my own. I talked to 4 different people, the valet kid, the front desk lady, the front desk manager and then after I told the desk manager their hotel sucked and I was leaving, the general manger showed up as I was texting my wife. He offered no solution and then sarcastically told me I didn't travel much when I told him it was absurd to charge me $8 to park my car in their parking lot that I was spending almost $200 a night for their room and couldn't drive my own car into their parking lot. I told him where he could go and he tried to provoke a physical fight with me while grabbing my car door and not allowing me to leave. I slammed the car door locked it as he tried to open my car door as I drove off. We found a way nicer place not far right on the beach, cheaper and very friendly staff. We will NEVER stay at a Crowne Plaza Hotel EVER again. I gave them one star for a rating only because there was no negative stars. Do yourself a favor and find a cheaper hotel with real people. These people need some serious training on how to deal with customers.

All the rooms have patios with a great view. Service is very friendly! Beach/poolside bar has great food and drinks and surprisingly reasonable prices. Walkable to Main street. Overall, a great place to stay.

Wonderful hotel. I've been there many times for work and have had a great experience every single time. Clean sheets, updated rooms, many rooms with gorgeous views, and wonderful staff. Reasonably sound proof walls. Prompt service/help if needed, and a good vibe all around. It's honestly my favorite hotel. I can't say much as to cost, but am very thankful they offer the government rate or I would have had to stay in less desirable locations. Thank you crowne plaza for being such a good hotel!

Crowne Plaza is a beautiful hotel with ocean views just off the freeway. It has ample parking and friendly, helpful people who work for it. I've met my daughter when work sends her to that area. This is an older hotel that has been renovated, so the rooms are clean, nice and modern. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a lounge in the lobby that is very open and looks out over the beach. There is a large fire pit outside the lounge that also overlooks the beach. The hotel restaurant appears to be new, and there is room service here. The rooms they call Executive Suites are large, but not suites in the sense of having a separate living and sleeping area. They do have a couch (pull out), microwave, refrigerator, and large flat screen TV. The executive suite had two balconies. Almost all the room have at least some view of the ocean. The higher up the better the view, but it gets loud! The hotel sits between the beach on one side and the 101 freeway and the train tracks on the other side. The orientation of the hotel to the bay means rooms on both side of the hotel have ocean views but the noise from the freeway is non stop. With doors closed, the sound was not very noticeable and didn't bother me at all, but it is too loud to keep the balcony doors open at night. It's within an easy walk of downtown and plenty of restaurants. It's a nice place to stay on business.

It worked for us. We took the kids, and our bikes because the bike paths along the beach are just outside the Hotel. The higher up you go re the rooms, the better the ocean view, which is quite nice. The rooms, depending on the season, are around $300.00. There are restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel along the towns main street. The beach area just outside the hotel is a little rocky, but a nice beach area is within 2 miles of the hotel. Free parking available. The rooms aren't great size wise, but recently renovated and reasonable. We spent most of out time outside the room biking and exploring the tidepools just outside the hotel, so it worked for us.

I loved my stay here. The gym on site is kind of limited, but I was still able to get my workout in. The morning complimentary breakfast was nice. They didn't have options that weren't pork out on the buffet bar but we're very understanding and made me some chicken sausage instead. Overall, great experience. Nice rooms and awesome views of the beach. Will definitely be coming back here in future stays.

Renovated, fair prices, very clean and pleasant service. Walking distance to Main Street and right at the water makes it a beautiful and fun place to stay. We like west facing rooms to see the sunset from our balcony.

My husband took my here for my birthday. The rooms have been redone very well. The front desk guys were very nice. The freeway noise isn't great but kind of turns into white noise if you let it. You can walk to great restaurants from there which is nice if you drink which we did and didn't have to worry about driving.

Really great experience. Very kind, accommodating staff. Only downside was no hottub. I'm sure it makes their lives easier not to have one, for many reasons, but it really would've been nice, especially since there are no tubs in the room. The on-site restaurant with chef Luis is amazing! Best salmon dish ever!

Right on the beach. With amazing views! Has a bar and restaurant connected, but if you want to venture out. It is within walking distance of downtown which is very quaint, and has lots of yummy places to eat. There is a outdoor firepit to relax by in the evenings while you take in the ocean view. Lots of activities to do. Ride a bike on the boardwalk, see the longest pier in Cali or jump on the train to go and see numerous things, which is experience in itself. On the Amtrak you get to see wonderful scenery and you can sit back and relax and leave the driving to someone else.

Good hotel, right on the beach and easy walk to downtown. Friendly staff and really good bar/ restaurant. They also have bikes you can rent. Some rooms were being renovated when I was there last which they need. The hallways and rooms were a little dated. Has a small gym, arcade and outside fire place. Not bad for the price!

Rooms were renovated in Oct. 2016. The rooms are very comfy with nice step-in shower, balcony. In room coffee maker, microwave, small refrigerator. Right on the beach. Nice bar, outside seating. Train and freeway are nearby, so early plugs are a good idea if you're a light sleeper. Photos show outdoor patio seating area protected from the wind, the beach, and the land side. Lovely sunsets. Don't forget your sunglasses!

Very nice hotel and excellent staff! Our room wasn't ready and so they upgraded us at no extra cost. The view was beautiful! Don't let the outside of the hotel (which looks older) fool you! The rooms are comfortable and obviously renovated beautifully! Will definitely be staying here again.

The equipment looks new and makes a good impression. The bathroom is not really complete by the rest of the rooms, which is not pleasant with toilets. It was by far the loudest room on our 2 week trip. The traffic of the highway is already extreme and that of the goods or rail traffic can also be heard very strongly (even with closed windows) but there is also a nice outdoor pool and a gym. The nearby beach is not necessarily sizable and should be put in order.

The rooms are little bit dated but hey, the ocean is at your doorstep. Every room has an ocean view. It has the Aloha Steakhouse right next door. It is beachfront and has the boardwalk right out in front of the hotel. The pier is within walking distance. Even though the rooms are dated, it was clean and presentable. I would stay here again without thinking twice.

This is where my high school reunion is every 5 years. The improvement over 5 years ago is amazing. Good bed, good Wi-Fi, restaurant is much better. Only problem is the location. Between the hwy 101 across the street and the trains that pass regularly, it's incredibly noisy.

Check In is at 4:00 which is a big I feel is wrong. I went to checkin at 3:50 and was reminded that checkin was not until 4:00 and that room was not ready. I came back to the desk at 4:00 (stood in line again) and this time he called a supervisor and was told room was not ready. We got our room at 4:30. Our patio was totally unusable. The air conditioner in the room above us was leaking onto our patio. Just spoke with the manager and she informed me they discounted our room last night after my husband notified him of the leak. Manager explained they are starting to renovate the outside next month. I will probably give them another try. The location is great.

Would have been 4 stars if there was any kind of customer service at this hotel. Front staff really need training. Be aware this is a dog friendly hotel and there was a dog show going on in the hotel when we stayed. No complaints re the room and location.

I have stayed at this hotel off and on for years, always loved it. Felt like it was home away from home. Needing a vacation away from it all I chose to book 5 weeks ahead and come to Crowne Plaza on the beach. Flying in from Denver specifically to stay at this hotel. I booked in advance so I was able to stay on the west side of the hotel. I had a few problems in the beginning getting the room I wanted but it was all worked out by the Manager Mr. Douglas Woods. During my stay Mr. Woods did show me how beautiful the east side of the hotel is too however. Just a different view of the beach. The trick is being on a higher floor on the east side I suppose. This trip was wonderful. The hotel looks beautiful after the remodel! I stayed 6 nights. This hotel is great if you love the beach and being close to the beach and a small quaint town with plenty to do when you don't want to be at the beach. Great restaurants and shopping just blocks away. You can walk to the end of the Ventura pier and gaze back at the nice little hilly town. The hotel has a great pool area with poolside service. Awesome bartender Robert who can make a great drink and is very personable! The restaurant at the hotel is also worth eating at or getting room service. I had the ribs and they were delicious. Most all the staff at the hotel were great. Parking… If you will be coming and going late at night you will want to valet park. If not using your car or only during the day just park in the structure next door.

I really enjoyed my stay here. How is on the 8th floor in room 801 at the very front of the hotel and had an excellent view of the beach. The staff was very friendly and accommodating I'll be happy to stay here again.

Just popped in real quick after a morning walk at the beach to get some coffee and a bagel at the restraunt there. Sat out on the patio enjoyed my quick breakfast and off I went again. Always a lovely place and the staff is always nice.
I've stayed there before and attended functions there and haven't had a bad experience. Its a nice little ger away.

Great location. Bike rentals are available from the hotel. The pool area is very small. Service at the bar is slow. The fitness center was recently renovated and is quite nice. We enjoyed our stay here.

Bathroom door is frosted glass. No privacy, nothing but small bar of soap (no shampoo, lotion etc) in bathroom. Skimpy on towels. If someone is trying to sleep while another is in bathroom, the Light in bathroom is so bright! For the prices charged, I could have found better accommodations.

The hotel staff including the managers are rude. I have never been treated so poorly at a hotel. We stayed 4 nights and I would never recommend it to anyone. The rooms are nice but very, very small. 2 drawers to put your stuff in. They have 3 elevators and only 1 works. You wait for an elevator for way too long. Our rooms were not cleaned by 4 pm each day.

This place was the absolute best choice! Not a disappointing part about our visit. Stones throw from the beautiful ocean. Super family/pet friendly. Not enough stars for this place. I would have added a gold star to my review if I could.

Nice hotel. Great views. Good service. Only knock was the elevators were slow & 2/3 elevators worked. So come prime check out time getting on was almost impossible. Thankfully was only on the 3rd floor. But would stay again for longer.

The hotel seems to have recently upgraded, the rooms are beautiful. The bathrooms are very well lit and the color schemes for the entire space are soft and calming. The food in the bar area is good, if a bit too fusion/foodie-centric for me (I don't need aioli sauce on everything). The restaurant is also under construction at this time. The prices seem a bit much, $6 for cereal. But you can't beat the location of the hotel to the beach, it's right there. But so is the train.

Such a beautiful hotel… it's now my favorite in CA. Heading there this weekend for my 4th stay in less than 3 months. The decor is so bright and modern, the bed is nice and comfy, and it's conveniently located next to the CA Shopping Center. Way nicer than any other hotel I've been to in CA.

I want to love this place. Went to the downstairs bar area for food and drinks. 1. The Self Seating is usually bad. It was. No one helps. The staff looks at you while you wander around looking for an empty table. 2. The seating is literally bad. I spent 7 minutes and destroyed 2 newspapers trying to get the tables from wobbling. Also the chairs feel like they're 1/2 a foot short. I could rest my chin easy than my elbows. 3.15 minutes after sitting down we finally are attended too. The two things that I had asked for on the side, were not even brought out.

Great hotel! I was only there to attend meetings, but desk staff is very curteous. The view is amazing, hotel is right on the beach. It would be a great place for an extended stay.

They have arcade games (Galaga, Pac Man, Space Invaders, etc) in their vending room. Stayed here for my birthday and was best experience. Beach front bar open until 11p. M and you can sit outside with a fire pit. Even after bar closes you can still sit out there. When I came back inside a little after midnight the vending room was closed but an employee opened up for me without me even asking. You get free breakfast at their restaurant, which was very delicious. Got a bicycle? No problem they'll put securely in storage for you. You're right there on boardwalk. There's also a little market in front of their restaurant in Sundays. Free parking and walking distance to Amtrak station, pretty much everything you could want to see or do us closeby. Excellent and kind service all around. I can't say enough good things about this hotel.

The staff were so friendly. Opened the arcade after hours for my girlfriend to get her galaga fix.

Our Ocean Veiw room was clean, spacious, well-decorated and had a great view of the pier & ocean. Even the balcony had nice furnishings. The only negative to me was that the surrounding area away from the pier & beach, towards the freeway seemed not so safe. But we had no incidents. The staff was professional and ready to serve. The bed was firm & the pillows soft — great for me! The mini frig was an added bonus. We hope to return!

Got a screamin' deal on the room via Hotwire, was $79. Room was worth that for sure. Ocean View. Free parking. Room needed a renovation, but all in all, was quite nice. We arrived late and there were lots of homeless folks mulling about the parking lot. But, hey — can't beat ocean view for $79!

Great views nice rooms and amenities. Close walk to Ventura. Walls are pretty thin expect to hear neighbors if loud.

Good food and great service. The hotel looks outdated and old. It has a great location on the beach, but the hotel itself is not aesthetically pleasing.

Stayed here for two nights. Room is decent & clean. You can see the ocean partially (seems like all of the room have partial view of the ocean due to the way the building design). Do not expect a high end/luxury room as it is not. It is good considering the price/location. Beach/Pier is walking distance. It has small play area for the kids. Great for pictures during sunset. Great for just relaxing, walking next to the ocean. Surprisingly this town has few good restaurants that are walking distance from the hotel. Overall good value.

After 15 hours of travel, we decided last minute to drive from LAX to Ventura. The very kind gentleman at the desk could see how exhausted we were and quickly checked us into our room with ease. The room was very nice with a southern view of the ocean and city. The bed was HUGE and the patio was great! Only complaint was that even though we were on the 11th floor, the Amtrak train was very loud at 7:00am. Obviously not the hotels fault. I must point out that Breakfast at NOM was amazing and the server named Marty really made our experience in Ventura a great one. We will be back!

Train with a freight just below the balcony. There are very many freight trains arrived, the few were to perceive very clearly. Also, the Highway 101 runs past just a few metres from the balcony. Continuous sleep is not possible. Room door was very thin, so that each Person can be heard on the corridor and the Elevator. The bathroom fixtures are very dirty with green slime. There's only one bed is present, but is quite large and sufficient for us in terms of size. But it is hopeless. Wifi works only occasionally and the room, as well as not. In part, it does not work even in the Lobby. The staff is known, the only remedy was to create none

Wonderful! The Hotel and its staff were perfect! We arrived very late after a 9 hour trip exhausted which the matridee could clearly see. He upgraded our room at no charge after we explained the reason for our trip and why we were doing a two day turnaround on Labor Day Weekend. The beds were very comfortableand the room clean. In fact the Hotel grounds and facilities were all maintained and were very comfortable. Room service was fast and very good. The entire staff were friendly and professional. My only concern was the parking spaces… Very little of it. And the comfort of walking around at night on the property did not feel safe.
