Review of Aquasis De Luxe Resort & SPA 5*

Takes a long time to get here from Bodrum (about 1.5hours via holiday shuttle coach). Hotel overall is great but service is a bit lacking; good enough, but not 5 star levels. English comprehension by staff is patchy but just about manageable with some effort. Big and spacious, you never feel overrun with crowds of people. Plenty of pools spread over large area, with beach front further down so lots of space for the guests. Great for water activities and daily water-park tube rides/slides on site. With a little-kids fun-pool area as well. Something for all families. There is a lack of common manners by the guests' children; generally being from non-English countries. The idea of a queue and waiting in line for service does not compute for them, as they barge to the front to get drinks, food, or talk to staff or get on the pool slides, etc. We were given a "free upgrade" when we arrived, from a normal hotel room in the main building to a Sun Terrace room that was a several minutes walk away. Despite there being 4 of us, the room was made up for 3 people only — 3 sets of towels, duvets, etc. Rated as a 5 star hotel and one of us had to sleep on an extended slim sofa-chair. Our room telephone (s) didn't work so we had to walk to reception to let them know about it and tell them we needed more bedding and towels, etc. The telephones were fixed by the end of the second day — after going to reception to report it five times. The Wi-Fi speed in the room fluctuates from about 60Mbps in the early morning to less than 1Mbps by late afternoon (and for the rest of the evening). Barely able to watch a Netflix show (about 40 seconds pre-buffering time), but certainly not in HD quality. Wi-Fi is flakier, the further from the main building you go, even around the pool areas. The weather in August is lovely; regularly in the mid 30's (deg-cel) and quite windy which keeps the heat manageable but blows the drinks-paper-cups/towels around a bit. Cloudless skies on a daily basis. Highly recommended if you can put up with the issues mentioned above.
