Terrible hotel they are very rachist to arab people at the receptionist they gave arab people a very bad room en very dirty on the site evertrhing looks beatiful but of you are there its terrible never been to a worst hotel like that the people of the receptionist they are not nice very very rachist people breakfast ist not nice terriblee!

The Byzantium has an excellent location in Sultanahmet, walking distance from the most popular Istanbul attractions. The hotel provides airport transfer which is much more economic than a taxi. The staff are also very helpful and kind. Turkish breakfast is served daily, buffet style, with a variety of breads, cheeses, and home style jams. Salads and hot dishes vary a bit each day, including items such as kisir, borek, and even macaroni and cheese or French toast. The staff checkin with the guests during breakfast and the restaurant manager Erhan was particularly nice. I had a bit of trouble with the internet upon arrival, but the staff were very helpful and called a technician to solve the problem on the same day. I stayed in winter and the rooms were small but clean. The staff also keep the hotel very clean. There is a spa, which I didn’t visit, on the lower level of the hotel. I did visit the gym, which has a few machines and some hand weights. It is enough to get by if you need to get in a workout. The lounge upstairs on the 4th floor is very nice. It has a relaxed feel and is clean with a view of the Bosphorus. All in all, it was a very nice stay!

I recommend this hotel because of the wonderful staff. Oktay, Isrem, Mehmet and Bruno all worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. They were like family to us and we will always remember them.

Disgusting hotel! Terrible attitude to the Russians, they are living almost in the basement! The food is disgusting!

DONT RESERVE IN THIS HOTEL, pictures are VERY misleading, I have just checked out from the worse place that you can stay in, we came for 12 days trip of which only 4 days from hell were in Byzantium hotel, if you can call it a hotel, on check in the receptionist was on a phone call which lasted at least 10 mins while we were standing in front of him, without even looking at our faces, however when he finished he did not even smile or apologise, they took us to another building which is dusty and narrow, to a very small with bad smell, we did not accept to enter it, the response this is your reservation dont speak to us, speak to your travel agent (rudely), so I did, travel agent advised yo speak to hotel manager to rectify, I tried to meet him, they started to show me some rooms in the main building they were very small and bad looking with small bath room and no space even for our luggage, Denis who was the only nice person in the hotel promised me to give me better room next day and she did, but when we came at night the recieptionist was unaware of anything and he gave us a hard time getting into the room as he was saying that its occupied (was reserved for me) without asking me about my name, the new room was bigger but with the same bad looking furniture, and it had a sea view (the only good thing), we were surprised that the bed sheets, blanket, pillow covers were very dirty, we called room service they told us we are closed now, when we insisted they told us we will

The new building that house the executive and family suites are very nice, recently refurbished with lots of space, very large shower and balcony facing the sea. The older block near the street are definitely a 3 star quality with very old, dated and tired looking furniture and decor. Aside from that the location is ideal for the tourist sites of Istanbul. We found the food from the in-house restaurant and the room service were just as good as any other of the restaurants that ply the road although found a few restaurants with outside seating that have a very pleasant atmosphere in the cool summer evening. Go early in the morning to beat the queues and the heat. Use the the trams from sultan Ahmet station. Very cheap considering a single trip was 2.6 tyl. Ask help from the many young boys and girls wearing the "Ask Me" t shirts. We found them all to be well spoken in English and French and very helpful to provide any relevant information. Note that in August 2018 when we went the Blue Mosque was undergoing major renovations. Therefore if you want to see the architecture inside a mosque of that era you're better off going to the Suleiman mosque. Most of all plan before hand all the places you would like to go and be Peepy to be flexible with times. Enjoy your trip!

Was so looking forward to enjoying the spa facilities. Jacuzzi wasn't working while we were there and for most of the week the attendant for the spa was off sick so we weren't allowed to use any of the facilities.

Very convenient location. Cosy room. Lovely rooftop restaurant with a view of the sea and the Blue Mosque. However, Average to below average food inclusive of breakfast.

Comfortable and a good breakfast. Staff can be excessively helpful and don't take no for an answer. Be aware that their Wi-Fi uses public addresses instead of private ones (e. G. 10.0.0.0/8) for their private network (NAT) so if the site you're trying to go to is using those addresses it won't work. This can be worked around using a VPN and manually setting routes, if you're sufficiently technically minded.

Good friendly hotel in the heart of the ancient city. Lots of restaurants around but make sure you barter for a free starter and Turkish tea afterwards. Rooms at the hotel are different. If it's not full ask for a different room. From 2303 to 107 ended up with an unused terrace and enjoyed private sundowners before restaurant dinner. Always check your bills in the restaurant and hotels. As housekeeping are unable to count sometimes. Otherwise a definite destination to return to. Hotel not far from coast and grand bazaar. Great long weekend trip.

Great reception, very clean hotel, close to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia, 5 minutes walk! Staff very friendly, helpful, attentive. Spacious room. Top. To recommend.

It was my first holiday in Istanbul I think we made Wright decisions by choosing Byzantium hotel very friendly staff and very good service best location where you can find all historical places to visit I would highly recommend this place Zekeriya pelit.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel was in a very nice central place. All the touristic attractions were at a walking distance. In the mornings, there was an open buffet breakfast with lots of options to choose from. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

In Istanbul were the first time, hotels the sea, but because it only stayed overnight, it is quite decent. It is very well. Hot and stuffy in the room was. Breakfast was good. The table is fine. Great café on the roof with a chic view and discount for guests 15%

Small rooms and many building connections ،the breakfast is limited and no minor things are changed, corn flux spoons are dirty and broken.

Don't book the budget room because they put you in a basement room. They reserve the right to put you in the room they want, no matter if it is in a basement almost without window. We were put in that room, and after a lot of fighting, after 2 days we were upgraded to a standard room in which it was impossible to have the window open from so much noise from the air conditioning pipes and from a bread oven. One of the receptionist (Yusuf) Super arrogant, and nothing sympathetic to our displeasure to get into the basement room. Another day we arrived at the 16pm and they had not even cleaned the room. Breakfast varied but repetitive. Nice Spa. The location is not bad, but it is not the best, 8 m walking to take the subway. Very unhappy with the treatment they have given us. Wi-Fi of very poor quality. Safe in the Habiraciones.

Nice hotel in walking distance from the historical centre. If You don't want to hear the sound of kitchen utensils and other sounds from the kitchen, share in 3 bed room 3101… unfortunately, there are some problems with glasses at Breakfast.

Dont go for it rooms they show me on net and actualy when I go their its disaster and + rude staff. Room thy show me in a building backside of hotel and I just cancel my booking and change the hotel thy said thy are 5 star and actualy thy are nothing.

Nice hotel, clean with friendly staff. Resteraunt on the top floor serves fantastic food with 15% discount for hotel residents. All rooms have air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms. Breakfast was really great, plenty of choice with some great Turkish options. View of the Bosphorous very nice but only from the fourth floor. Location is very convinient with Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque within five minute walking distance. It would have got full five stars if there was more TV options for non Turkish speaking visitors. But overall, very good hotel. Would certainly recommend.

The hotel and location was great but I found it very difficult to sleep while in Istanbul and the only reason I only not rating this hotel a 5 star. I enjoyed the scenery the location and the friendliness of the staff.

Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable bed in a clean well serviced room. Breakfast was interesting (lots of salad) and the coffee ok despite being from a self service Nescafe machine. Would happily stay there again.

The byzantium hotel easy location for all major site. We stay 4 nights, spa and rooms are very comfortable service 24 hr, breakfast very suprised when I was seen.

Beds are comfortable. My room was spacious and had an ocean view. The walls are a bit thin and I could here my neighbors in the bathroom quite clearly. The hotel staff was extremely friendly with the exception of one member who was unprofessional and reluctant to help, maybe she was having a bad day. The restaurant on the roof top terrace was mediocre but the view was nice. The location was ideal to visit the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia.

Hotel 4 stars! Good location, very central. The friendly managers, service at the highest level. The rooms have everything you need: slippers, towels, hair dryer, shampoo, gels, even disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste. Private, above standard, there are bathrobes. Very nice view on the outdoor veranda restaurant. I advise you to be sure all visit this restaurant. There gorgeous views of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. Cool, fun waiters and chef who prepares very tasty. I advise you to try their dish dish made and just do not remember how it is called, but preparing meat with vegetables in a clay Countess, which glowed, when we poured juice, then the waiter repeated throat and emptied, which ferries and 6th fragrance of meat on a platter. So, everyone enjoyed it. I want to get there yet … We were in early November 2014, even the weather has pleased us, + 20-22 degrees.

I stayed 3 night in Byzantium Hotel. It was amazing 3 night for me. Hotel has a incredible terrace with sea view. The other advantage is perfect location. Byzantium has perfect location, it's between the hagiasophia and bluemosque and it takes just 5 min. From the hotel.

Very nice hotel, in a very historic lovely place in istanbul sultanahmet, Great location. The staff of the hotel are very communicable and lovely. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Roof terrace is wonderful view, overlook sea view, hagia sophia, blue mosque. We felt every time a little bit like being at home. All in all, I cannot fault this hotel. It does what you need. Clean accomodation, helpful staff & fantastic location.
