Absolument ou! C'est un endroit charmant, situé dans La Casbah, l'un des lieux les plus fascinants de Tunis. L'architecture arabe typique et l'attention portée aux moindres détails rendent ce lieu magique. Propre, cool, calm … Rajeunissant en revenant après avoir été autour du souk ou d'autres endroits de la ville merveilleuse Mais ce qui le rend unique, c'est la gentille et l'éducation authentiques de tout le personnel travaillant dans ce lieu magnifique. Vraiment bien fait. Nous avons h'te d'y retourner.

Authenticity, friendliness, proactive approach to all your needs — in the heart of medina. You are in a big family house rather than a hotel. I think that sounds of peacocks are included in the price :)

My experience at Dar Ben-Gacem was even better than I could have imagined. From the historical building to the convenient location to the thoughtful design and decoration, the entire experience is carefully crafted to truly reflect the captivating history of the local community, city, and country. The rooftop has great views of the entire city and a cool spot to see the sunset. The receptionists were very accommodating and provided their honest recommendations and advice on a…ctivities. I also want to give a special thank you to the kind lady that made us a delicious, personalized, and wholesome breakfast every morning (her banana smoothies are great btw! ) I’ve traveled dozens of countries looking for this kind of unique, local experience when visiting a country and I can assure you that it’s very difficult to find a gem like this. I look forward to returning next time and will recommend this spot to all of my friends visiting Tunis in the future!

Wonderful guest house in the Medina. The 300+ year old building was completely restored and very nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Stay here to get a good authentic Tunisia experience. Highly recommended.

For the 5th Ten Star, Things like Sockets & Co would have to work better, but even that, makes up the Charm of this Hotel.

Dar Ben-Gacem is reason enough to come to Tunis. My favorite place in the medina. Not just to stay, but to enjoy a coffee, read a book, and feel like a real Tunisian. The owner, Leila, is also a rockstar of the area. She's known for working to revitalize the Medina, and it's evident from the beaitiful rennovation on the hotel. Besides it being drop dead gorgeous, the stones and columns that make up the place are 2, 000 years old from ruins of Carthage.

For me and my family its easy it's either a stay at Dar Ben Gacem or nothing. We love everything about this place but particularly the special energy that comes when people do what they do with love.

A new experience in the hostelling field in tunisia, an occasion to live and eat like a tunisian bourgois in the 19th century.

Bad location, although it is near the old Souq but the way to reach Dar Ben Gasem was horrible, I got the feeling of going into a drug dealers place which is not really safe for foreigners at night! the area surrounding the Dar was NOT clean it was full of cats and garbage in the street. we booked the Najma sweet, the furniture was unique and authentic but the carpet was super dirty and I start having itchiness from the moment I walked into the room. I have found a cockroach walking out of our sweet bathroom! Bad breakfast one of the receptionist was really weird and his looks was super scary! And he was not friendly at all! (his name was Shoaib)

What an amazing experience! I visited this place today for the first time and I am glad I did. I just love Tunisian traditional houses, and this one is a must-see/visit. I met and spoke with the owner, who is a very friendly and welcoming person, about the history behind this amazingly beautiful place. The staff was friendly and very thoughtful :) The place and the surroundings are very safe and secure. Very recommended if you want to stay in the heart of the Medina and get to know Tunisian tradition and hospitality.
