Amazing sea view and mountain view from the bedroom and balcony, people are super kind, we bought the bottle of wine from 7-11, and enjoyed it at the balcony, felt like at the romantic fancy restaurant, also The smart big TV with Netflix and the comfort bed made my nice sleeping, The owner George is very kind and thoughtful, anyway, highly recommend.

Amazing service, great food, a rich breakfast, an amazing spa, very clean spacious rooms with BREATHTAKING views… one of the best, if not THE BEST hotel on Koh Samui. Spending our honeymoon here, it’s honestly the most stunning setting. Extremely peaceful and all of the staff are helpful and will sort out anything you need. We are in the Jumpee villa and it’s beyond anything I could have ever wished for.

Had a lovely stay at Sandalwood villas. The Rose villa is just amazing with breathtaking view of the Bay. Wonderful service and warm staff. Enjoyed our stay. Will surely come back. Highly recommended.

No words about the room. We were at Malee Villa and it was at the edge of the property. The morning view of the sunrise was amazing. Though I felt that the pool was a little small. Also, they provide good service in terms of pick and drop to the nearest convinient locations. All of the best beaches like Chaweng, Lamai are close. The beaches near the hotel i. E. Coral Cove beach and The Cliff beach are also good for swim and snorkeling. Overall it was a really good experience.

We were absolutely blown away by this place. It was absolutely fantastic from the moment we were collected from the airport until we were dropped back. Our Mallee Villa with private infinity pool overlooking the most amazing views, Jacuzzi on the terrace. Beautiful interiors with luxury products. The hotel staff were amazing. The food was fantastic, the cocktails to die for. Do not bother staying with the big guns, these guys know exactly what they are doing and execute it all perfectly. The fleet of cars to take us wherever we wanted to go was brilliant too. A they even gave us a mobile phone to call them when we were out and about if we wanted picking up. Just brilliant.

The Sandalwood Luxury Villa is truly 5 stars (if not more). I highly recommend this resort for your stay on Ko Samui. Everything was as described, no suprises at all. We booked the 1 bedroom pool villa which was absolutely amazing. The room was very spacious, with A/C and they provided a separate oscillating fan which kept us plenty cool in May. The bed was very comfortable as well, linens were always clean and fresh and the room was clean and free of any annoyances and d…amage. There was also a kitchenette with decent sized fridge, hot water boiler, and microwave for snacks and meals. The bathroom was also very spacious with plenty of room for my wife to get ready, complete with a private jacuzzi (which we used for our milk bath that came with the Sweet and Lovers Spa treatment; very romantic). This leads me to our favorite part of the villa, our own private sun deck and plunge pool with breathtaking views of the bay! Needless to say we spent a ton of time in the pool and on the the deck. It was so relaxing and fun. We took full advantage of the spa while here as well. We booked several treatments which were all fantastic. The staff is very professional and the spa rooms are very comfortable. I would highly recommend the hot stone massage and if you want to indulge yourself (or do something very special for your loved one) book the Sweet and Lovers Package. My wife couldn’t stop smiling all day! The on property restaurant, Blue Ginger served great food.

I felt like I was in heaven at Sandalwood. The view of the sea, the sunrise. The peaceful tranquility of the natural surroundings was breathtaking. The staff was awesome courteous and very helpful. They get 10 stars ⭐️ in my book.

This place is lit! No way I’d come to Koh Samui and not stay here. One of the best villas experiences I’ve had while traveling and staying a numerous hotels in East Asia!

Splendid hotel!
The private meal is just beautiful with discreet and attentive waiters, the terrace just for us between forest and sea. The surprise was perfect, the meal delicious. Don't hesitate! The hotel and room are gorgeous with prices on taxis. Foot massage offered on arrival.

This hotel has large Thai-style rooms and stunning sea views unfortunately but does not enjoy its own beach in fact we are forced to go on that Adjacent Dell hotel (400m walk). It is located on a fast-flowing road so a bit dangerous for pedestrians also seen their way to drive. Breakfast and paper and products in the norm. Staff available and always smiling and also the pool and clean and from there you can see the sea.

Not recommended — please read this before booking. We booked the Deluxe room with king size bed. The rooms are quite spacious but the interior of the rooms look like they’ve been designed by the summer intern to save some money for the interior designers. It’s a bed (very hard mattress if you like it it’s nice), a quite small closet for hanging your clothes and a weird wooden make-up table which looks like it’s just purchased from the leftovers of the shooting of a low-budget ghost movie. The nicest thing about this place is definitely the view from both the lobby as well as the hotel room. But this doesn’t equalize the negative vibe this hotel spreads out. The staff of the hotel is overall not really friendly. The service at the breakfast was looking like they didn’t have sleep for a week and that somebody forces them to work there. No smile on the face and when taking the order just dazing out looking somewhere else. We luckily stayed only one night but they were even able to ruin the last minutes of our stay. We went to breakfast and left our luggage at the lobby before we took the taxi. After breakfast we went up again to pick the taxi. When reaching the entrance of the hotel (directly located at a busy road) there was no taxi waiting, only my luggage. I don’t want to know how long the staff left my luggage standing there without anyone taking care of it but it would’ve been easy to just grab it and leave. The service of this place is just super below average.

This is my second time to the kala resort, the first time is at the end of March last year, for the hotel service attitude feel very good so this time will come again the second time, check-in the first day we asked with the counter to go to chaweng shopping street, chaweng street, Counter staff told one-way trip is 300 baht, if to go back and forth is 500 baht, because we just check in so inform the hotel staff to wait for us to first enter the room to place luggage to confirm the time to go will be telephoned with them to book a car. Later we booked with the counter at 7:30 pm taxi to chaweng shopping street, they like repeatedly told each other 300 baht one way, back and forth is 500 baht, we made it clear, and then chose to sit back and forth 500 baht choice. That night with the driver is also happy, when the driver sent us safely to the hotel, he told us that we need to settle the charges that night, because the hotel also did not tell us that we need to pay the fare to the hotel, as in the past we travel in Thailand the impression that the hotel to help me call the car we also pay for the driver, So we didn't suspect that he gave him 500 baht.

Beautiful hotel on the heights of Koh Samui, very clean, with pool and jaccusi, very nice view, very attentive staff and very friendly, excellent care, breakfast is very plentiful. Great family holiday. We highly recommend this hotel.

It’s the place where I could enjoy peaceful and beautiful view! The place was gorgeous, both the room style and swimming pool with jaguzzi but still a couple of things needed. It would be better to provide the doormat at the front of the room, working table and sofa in the room. The front desk gave us unexpected answers when we asked for the a little late check-out.

One of the best hotel stays we have been thorough. The ambiance and charisma of the hotel was unbelievably good. Best part about the place was staff's hospitality & friendliness. Beautiful people with golden heart. Indeed world class hospitality and customer service.

Nice hotel. Kind staff. Very nice view.

Great view, the villas were bigger, but the appartments were fresher. Downside with the appartments was that at night someone repeatedly tried to get in to the rooms. We informed the personel and they placed a guard at the entrance, but it kept happening. The staff was always very friendly and helped with anything when asked. Breakfast was good, but you had to ask for everything to get it even tho it said included on the menu. Over all a good place to relax, but a bit remote also flies and mosqitoes are common. A plus is that the AC still works even without leaving a key or something in the room! Great view!

I loved this place. We stayed at a villa with private pool looking at the ocean, which was amazing. The staff was more polite at this place than those who work at other hotels, and you can get free rides and pick ups to and from the city and beach. The restaurant at this resort offers delicious food for reasonable price.

The hotel motto is implemented authentically "where times stood still" — unfortunately the hotel has had its best years long. It would need to be more maintained and modernised at all corners. For the offered, it is simply far too expensive. The service was also not exhilarating. Breakfast was to choose from several building blocks (no buffet).

This is my third time at Sandalwood. At first I thought maybe I should try something different. But then I said to myself why? What more could you want. And once again I made the absolute right choice. This is our first time in Sandalwood’s new villas. They are spectacular with out a doubt. We enjoyed our own pool looking out over the ocean. It was very romantic. After our long journey we where greeted with a welcome drink and given the keys to the palace. The following day we went to the spa for a couples massage those lady’s worked miracles. Then we followed it up with a wonderful dinner in the Blue Ginger Restaurant. I would highly recommend this to anyone…

Once into the Kala was attracted by its architecture, very Thai style. Although the hotel was on the sea, I was glad to book a room alone in the pool, but view was completely blocked by the "messy bushes". Completely can not see the sea; In the evening into the room, found that the air conditioning remote control is broken can not adjust the wind speed, please the hotel people to deal with, to two times to repair, but its minimum wind speed is still very large, and sound and loud, completely unable to feel their own vacation! Bathing place is also, drainage hole blocked, out of the water cry big and small can only say here to take pictures good-looking, but the actual completely can not live down! If you want to come back to Su Mei, I don't recommend this ~

The hotel has seen better days, it is worn down. A lot of light bulbs need to be changed paint is chipped, fournitures are getting old… But the view is breathtaking, the hotel is surrounded by plants and flowers, it sits on top of a cliff. Internet connection is very fast as well, and you can have breakfast until 6PM. I'm not sûre I will come back, but it was not a desastrous experience.

Food is better outside the hotel, tasty, but nothing special, expensive. The hotel is very quiet, the entrance from the stones, the fish there, but for the fishes not here). For a quiet family holiday. With children and elderly people dangerous, many steep stairs. PS: Breakfast… No, the first time is in Taye…

A breathtaking view, a welcoming staff. The Duplex villa with infinity pool is really the best option.

Our flights arrived at 8pm at night and we had organised with the hotel for pick up and someone was waiting with our names on display which was pleasant after a long flight. We were greeted with friendly staff upon checkin which was quick and easy and we were in our room in no time. The room was clean and smelled great. As we were tired from the flight we decided to go straight to sleep. The bed was extremely firm which lead to a poor nights sleep for the duration of the stay, however my husband didn't mind the firmness. In the morning, we took a step on our balcony and the view was amazing. We had an ocean view and you could even see Chaweng across the waters. We went to breakfast (which was included in our stay) and it was order off the menu instead of a buffet (which I'm used to at other hotels) but it was great as the food we ordered every morning was yummy and good serving sizes. I found the staff to be friendly but they weren't always attentive and found sometimes you were waiting a while to attempt to get staffs attention which even included trying to get a drink at an empty bar. There was no beach at the hotel, as it was more cliffside but they did have a jetty and offered free snorkel gear and kayaking for guests. We only did snorkelling but the gear was old and filled up with water which was disappointing. The hotel was beautiful but also a little run down. It has so much potential to be an amazing hotel if money was put into maintenance and training for staff.

Gotta hand it to them, this place is luxury for sure. Everything's amazing. The one and only bad thing is that it's half way up a steep steep mountain road but the place will shuttle you to get supply's and help you go out for dinner. If I ever get married I would seriously consider this place for a honeymoon. They have left the original rocks and have built round them which gives it a unique and amazingly creative look to each room. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, and the staff are super kind and nice to talk to. They will help with day trips and also have a nice spa in site. Great breakfast each morning and the view of the sea from the private pool is amazing. For a slice of heaven on Earth treat yourself to a few nights here if you're in Koh Samui.

Amazing place, especially for families. It has everything you need such as a private swimming pool and kitchen which are essential with small kids. The restaurant, Blue Ginger, serves tasty and authentic Thai food and the best green curry we've found so far.

Hands down the best hotel I have stayed at in thailand and I've stayed at a few 4.5 — 5 star hotels. You really get treated like a king and queens. Absoloute friendly staff stunning expensive looking rooms with the views to top it off. Much appreciated. Thank you!

We loved staying at the kala. Has a small boutique feel, staff super friendly, and beautiful views. We stayed in a private villas with it's own pool. Huge space. Would definitely recommend.

A great location with stunning views. We stayed in a Hotel nearby and wanted to see If Sandalwoods would be something for our next trip to Ko Samui. One evening we decided to have a closer look. We asked at the reception if we could sit on the terrace, enjoy the view and order some drinks and have dinner. The waitress brought the menu and took our orders. The menu was from the Restaurant Blue Ginger located at the entrance of the resort. A few minutes later we got our Drinks and we thought this is a perfect place for just. We talked about staying here in the future. Just a few minutes later the Manager of the resort showed up and told us that we have to leave the resort because the have a guest only policy. So we had to leave immidiately and had dinner in the nearby Restaurant. We had no problem to accept that we have been told we could have Dinner when we asked and that this was wrong. But the way this was handled was just extremely unprofessionell in our opinion.

After 5 days we changed the hotel, we should have done the same! Mold in the bathroom, toilet seat yellowed and torn. In the pool, tiles were missing. Overdue Repairs everywhere! A service force at breakfast was considered the bad mood from afar. With 4 stars This hotel unfortunately has nothing to do. Are then to the new star Beach Resort, also 4 stars, but all top. The way it should be.

Negative: 1000e stairs, breakfast to choose from, unkempt building, room and pool. Too expensive the whole thing.

No good shops, must be assessed, 45 days in advance to pay the entire paragraph January 1, 2018 to 4th three nights hotel, go not to do not refund the kind of, the first day to say oversold, certainly no room, said to another hotel to live one night, tomorrow will move back, the next day to call said I booked the sea-view room or no room, or continue to live this hotel, If you want to stay at the garden-view family room, the third day of the holiday is over. The guest has left me to move back, but I will check out at 10 next morning. I'm a good one. The New year holiday is so ruined by this force store, we should be careful when booking, because you may be shops sent to another live dissatisfied guests, but the price is not low score high hotel. I am responsible for this comment, the dialogue I have recorded. My three nights hotel is only one day, or the kind of time, the hotel expressed regret but will not be compensated. I would not recommend anyone to live in a hotel with no contract spirit or reputation.

Our stay was amazing! Our 2 bedroom villa had an infinity pool that overlooked the coast which made for great photo ops. I would definitely recommend!

Fantastic hotel. Great service the length of our stay. Staff couldn't be more helpful, the hotel is intimate and private. Amazing views and great food. Little details such as giving you a local phone to use, ideal for calling up the hotel driver to pick you up after sight seeing or your evening meal (and it's cheaper than local taxis and charged to your room). There are also shuttle buses that run a few times a day to main areas. Very well thought out with lots of attention to detail. Thank you!

Elegant and really nice boutique hotel between Lamai beach (about 15 mins by scooter and Chaweng (approx. 20 min). The Infinitypool is wonderful, the A la carte breakfast is fine and all the staff are insanely nice (early season in November 2017). We're Thrilled. Free pick-up service from the Airport. Great.
It was our honeymoon — had sweet rose decorations in the room (with towel swan) and fruit basket. Very accommodating. Fresh water in the room every day.
To the sandy beach (coral) you can get a free kayak in 4 min (on foot probably 7 min). Scooters we ordered about the Hotel. We were called and he was delivered to us right outside the Door. This makes one Self-sufficient. On foot There are about 4 — 6 restaurants in the immediate Vicinity. But not these huge selection.
Hotel Complex is 9 years Old. But everything looks much newer. Sweet in the rooms is that you can see from the bathtub directly to the SEA. We have been very wwohlgefühlt.

Hotel was beautiful, nice staff, stunning views. Would definitely stay here again. The hotel offers a reduced cost shuttle service to pretty much anywhere and it's put on your main bill at the hotel — which is a life saver because transportation is expensive in Koh Samui. The hotel view was simply amazing, felt very relaxing. Only few critiques that I have: lots of stairs and we're relatively fit people, so that's something to keep in mind; and despite the hotel being full, it seemed dead at all times, nothing was really happening. We kind of felt alone. Maybe would suggest running activities or music or something.

Amazing, wonderful, Best Holiday Ever!

The nicest place I staid on the island. The view is breath taking. You get to see the entire lamai and chawaeng beach. Food tasted really good too. I got upgraded to a three bedroom villa and it was so neat. The villa was insanely large and very modern.

The place is a little bit scruffy that's why I don't give 5 stars, but the facility is really nice, the rooms are wonderful, clean and with a stunning ocean's view. Personnel is gentle and kind and try to help you as their best. I will come back for sure.

BE WARNED ABOUT THE KALA SAMUI Review of Kala Samui My family booked the Presidential Suite at the Kala Samui on the 28/05/17 for ten days as we were attending a family wedding at this hotel. The reviews looked very good and we were looking forward to staying there. However on arrival the hotel did not live up to our expectations in any way. Firstly the amount of steps and steepness of them to go to any part of the hotel would be more suited to a mountaineering training camp. The whole hotel is tired and no more than a three star at best. We were shown to our room and again tired and very disappointing, it needed completely redecorating inside and out. The sun beds provided on our terrace were filthy and the mattresses were disgusting. The room had little or no wardrobe space and the whole area felt depressing. The hotels facilities were as bad the bar had no shade or comfortable chairs and restaurant area was extremely basic. The pool area was tightly packed and had the same issue with dirty sun beds and mattresses. Other guests that had the misfortune of staying at this hotel had numerous problems with getting there rooms serviced, no hot water, always having to ask for toilet rolls and numerous power cuts. The swimming pool water was very cloudy indicating that it was in urgent need of a clean. The decking area nearest to the sea is very dangerous as the handrails are either missing or in a terrible state.

Was here on April 2017. Nice place to stay if you're not planing to get around the island much. There's one motorcycle rental place up the hill. Limited parking space for cars. The room was nice and quiet. Free kayak and snorkeling gears. Free breakfast was nice but lunch and dinner is overpriced. I did got upgraded to the 2 bed rooms.

With the stone and wooden interior, this hotel has a peaceful spa athmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing view from our room and I think the rooms are built to give everyone a good view. Very good food in the restaurant, at a slightly higher price than the restaurants downtown, but of high quality. Very happy with our stay, from the moment we arrived. So relieved we booked our entire stay in Koh Samui here at The Kala Samui. A ride downtown is easily booked from the road outside the hotel, a Songthaew (100 baht pick-up tuktuk) or taxi (2-300 baht) passes every 2nd minute and takes you anywhere on the Island. Not a hotel for the partypeople, but the best hotel for couples to retreat and relax.

Excellent bird's eyes view of Chaweng Beach. Arguably the best… of the villa is nothing like those 5 stars yet if u r looking for a location to view almost a quarter of samui here you are.

Hotel has the breathtaking view that is referenced here apparently as a 5etoiles but that is very far in fact! Spacious but ageing room one is in typical Thai for those looking for modernity and services +++ spend your turn.

Not pointing fingers but… Following checkout from this hotel it wasn't until the next day we discovered that our money had been strategically stolen! (Likely during our massage when belongings were not on our person) Was not noticeable at first because our money was budgeted and only every other bill was missing. (mostly the large ones) So it went unnoticed until we checked out and were already out of the hotel. Keep your money on you even during massage, we suspect the third person who entered the room during the massage went through our belongings.

It’s a place to relax, just stay put and enjoy our holiday. We stayed for two nights in the Jasmine pavilion, a beautiful spacious room with a stunning panoramic ocean view! The room had all we needed: a comfy bed, a TV with a great selection of movie channels, a DVD player, kitchen-set, fridge, microwave, coffee-set and not to mention all the amenities you can’t think of. I loved the infinity edge swimming pool, great breakfast and the flexibility of the transport system that allowed us to go where and whenever we wanted around the island. On top of that was the outstanding service from all the staff. No wonder Sandalwoods has the high honor of receiving the Tripadvisor Traveler’s Choice Award six years in a row since 2010. Truly, first class Thai hospitality!

Recommending the vilas. A bit more pricier but would be money well spent. Great view from room and love the private pool. Breakfast is free all day, but they only allow customer to eat it once a day. Taxi service is price reasonably and can be used as benchmark to bargain with street taxi.

It's a bit far from the towns, requiring taxi journeys which are additional costs to factor in.

Best resort in Samui! Sandalwood offers great 180 degrees views of the ocean and Chaweng. It is close to all of Samui's highlights, but not busy like Chaweng or Lamai. Perfect! We will definitely return to Samui one day, and will definitely stay at Sandalwood again :-).

A truly fantastic, laid back place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable, immaculate place to stay while on Samui. The prices are quite cheap and the food at the Blue Gibger quite lovely. You can even have a meal on your balcony overlooking the water.

One of the best experiences you can have in Koh Samui.
Facilities and service at Sandalwood Luxury Villas in Koh Samui left me speechless. 5-star service with a staff taking care to detail that everything was perfect. We were offered a travel service 24 h, a local mobile phone, excursions, SPA… It's like having your own luxury home with staff including. I really don't have words.

Last month my boyfriend and I stayed at this wonderful resort for a short romantic break and it was an incredible experience. The location of the resort is on the side of a hill with breath-taking views out across the gulf of Thailand. The resort has a number of beautiful, authentically Thai villas set amongst lush tropical gardens, many of the villas have a private pool and all have a jacuzzi making it the perfect place to get some privacy. Essential if you are on a romantic break or travelling with family. We loved all of the amenities at the resort, beautiful pool, large and luxurious villa, with all the mod cons, huge two-person shower, indoor jacuzzi, small finishing touches like candles and oil burners dotted around and a cute private garden. As if all of that wasn't enough, the price and the service of the staff are quite unbelievable. I can't recommend this place enough! If you want a luxury break without breaking the bank then this is the place!

Resort is located very nicely but for this level of hotel beach should be the must. Kala gives access to very small beach in resort located nearby — but swimming there is dangerous. I have seen few people hurt (and bleeding) by sharp rocks. Room is nicely furnished but walls definetely require renovation. Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is a complete disaster! I recomend local Maitai Restaurant located ~ 2km (left) from the hotel.
