➜ The Blue Lagoon Hotel is one of the older hotels on Koh Samui Chaweng beach. This also has its advantage since the large garden could grow beautifully here. The hotel itself looks at its age. The rooms and furnishings are in relatively good condition alone the bathrooms are in need of some renovation. The water from the pipes needs some overcoming as it sometimes smells a little uncomfortable. The pool and the loungers are very good. The old trees have a lot of shade on the beach. Only the water in the sea is sometimes very algae-rich which is still favoured by the upstream reef. The water exchange with the sea is interrupted here. The breakfast buffet is more than adequate and with the direct view of the sea already in the morning a delight. The staff were friendly and helpful. A small tip helps here as everywhere.
Positives — Very friendly staff. Excellent pool and beach access. Very cold air con rooms. DVD in all rooms. Breakfast. Very friendly guests. Massage in garden excellent although have to book as not enough staff. Beautiful garden setting Negatives — Wifi didnt work most of the time. Not greeted on arrival. Too many mosquitoes in the rooms. Gym not great. Jacuzzi did not work. Very run down some pool chairs falling apart. Overall — clean rooms and great big pool very clean. Noise from the street distracting at night but would stay there again if they updated their Wi-Fi system and spend some money fixing the place.
