Hotel staff were excellent when we first arrived. The room is well equipped and comfortable. However the room was on the smaller side. Breakfast was included as part of our package and it was pleasant enough providing a wide variety of foods. I highly recommend Centara Karon on the basis of value for money and staffing.

It's a great hotel. A little old-fashioned repair in the enclosures. Big area, pretty clean. On the way to the restaurant on wooden parts if the floor is wet you can slip hard! Sometimes running around rats seen in the parking lot. There are entertainment events, bonuses in the form of a complement to the DR. Barbecue party, pool party. There is no elevator in the old buildings. Three pools. The sea is not far away. There's everything nearby! From food of course to washing ironing, the market on the temple is also close. The beach is big, the prices are the norm. The beds, the umbrellas are 100bats for the whole day. Taxi excursions are right in the hotel. Don't give toothbrushes and paste! Take it or buy it. Cleaning every day, changing the linen towels. Friendly staff, including Russian. The buffet is good. I'll definitely go there!

The rooms are getting dated. Towel rack broke off, shower head sprayed water in random directions, hot water wasn’t consistent, toilet seat was broken, balcony door was rotting, there was no table on our balcony, lumpy old pillows, lost electricity twice for about an hour and they don’t have a powerful enough generator, aircon wasn’t a consistent temperature, TV small and old. A friend got upgraded to the same room as us. Happy for them but we paid more for the same room and got no upgrades. Breakfast buffet was less than impressive with smaller variety than comparable resorts. One morning was full so they sent us to another area to eat with even less variety. Having said all that it’s still a good hotel for families. The kids pool was fun for all, the on-site playground was nice, and the hotel staff are very well trained (other than the omelette chefs). We felt like the rooms and breakfast were not up to the standard of the price we paid when comparing to other resorts in this price range. Will probably try somewhere else next time.

Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room we had (pool cabana room) was fantastic — a spa pool big enough to seat 4-6 if needed (room only sleeps 2) in a private garden courtyard out the front of the room, and a high-walled rear courtyard with a second outdoor shower. Our room was serviced twice every day. The room was maybe a little dated, but we would definitely stay again. The gardens throughout the resort are beautiful, the pools (3) are great. Fantastic buffet breakfast. We didn't eat other meals in the resort, because there are so many eating options right outside the door. The location is excellent — walk to the beach in about 3 min, walk to the temple market, shops/restaraunts/massages/everything right outside the resort. We loved it.

Slightly older Facility but very nice and well maintained. The Pools are all three very beautiful there is also a Children's Pool with Slide. The Size of the System can also be to The detriment. If you live in the last Block of Flats, the Way to the Exit is very far about 10-15 Minutes. Unfortunately, Drinks and changing Services in the Hotel are very expensive and the Staff is unfortunately very inattentive, especially during Breakfast.

Our second visit here and it was better than the first. Staff are all friendly. Rooms by the Lagoon are awesome. Pay the extra for a ground floor room. Easy accept to all 3 pools. Plenty of cheap restaurants just outside the main gate. Perfect for families with kids.

The hotel is only a short walk from the beach but close to a number of bars restaurants and even a couple of convenience stores. There's always something going on round and about. The hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. There are three pools, one of them adults only if you want a bit more relaxation.

Large cozy landscaped area, all surrounded by greenery, beautiful eyes happy. Friendly staff, speak good English and willing to actively help, if necessary. Three swimming pools, one of which is free from children. Great buffet Breakfast, lots of dishes European and Asian dishes, huge amounts of fruit, very decent coffee. Small amenity in the room type bath set (shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, body lotion), two bottles of water per day, tea, coffee replenished as expenditures. A trifle, but nice. Cons have not found, only a pleasant feeling.

The location is great. The room was very large. The room is large and clean (there is a walk-in closet, balcony, bathroom and shower) on reception and… You can order a meal in your room… Great burgers and pizza, tasty on the contrary to the hotel is a mini market, there you can buy everything you need (water, beer, juices, sandwiches, etc. )

Centara hotel All staff couldn’t do enough for you, so polite & helpful. Especially are housekeepers (we were in room 3226 from 23rd March-7th April) I’m afraid I can’t remember the ladies names but they were always so polite & left our room spotless Also the Restaurant Azure & all the staff lead by K was so friendly & helpful Al the cooks, maintenance/gardening staff did a brilliant job of constantly tidying and working on the hotels grounds to ensure it was spotless All the security guards on the hotels front gate, always said hello to us which made us feel so very welcome. We had a problem with our room when we first arrived but Kamule on reception helped us to sort this & gave us a different one, he went that extra mile by remembering our names & what room we were in every time we met him, which made such a difference. The only negative I would say is that when we emailed our tour operators & the hotel a week or so before flying to check re the suitability of the room for our family we had booked we didn’t get a reply from the hotel which was a bit frustrating. Apart from this, we had a fabulous fabulous holiday & would definitely recommend the hotel to others. Thank you all!

Rest families with children 4 and 2.9 years, all like, good breakfasts with porridges and yogurts for children, and many others. Nice large area with swimming pool for children and adults, as well as playground, tennis court and gym Hall. About the cons, it's a 10 minute walk to the beach, but also get used to it, just with the kids and a lot of beach equipment was a little uncomfortable. And the lack of elevator in the building is also a little oblamalo, the upper Floor (3rd) given in the Heat with children, umbrella, towels and toys hard. Overall the hotel experience is just wonderful, I advise everyone and with children and couples and companies, although companies clearly need to Patong.

Very decent Hotel 4 *. There is a main building with a view of the sea and the park, and still low buildings around Bassenov. A little "tired furniture", but all decent, good bed. All-inclusive meals-2 meals per card without drinks at lunch and dinner. The sea and the great Karon Beach are a 5 minute walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location. Good location, close to the sea at the same time away from the roads. The breakfast is a bit repetitive. Meat is not only sausages and bacon. Cleaning daily but sometimes Staley pillowcases with impurities. Overall it leaves a good impression.

Good territory. Disgusting numbers. Dirty old. On the first floors in the rooms are constantly mosquitoes and even midge.

Great location, probably best hotel in area near Karon beach. Food was so-so, average I guess, but plenty of choices nearby. Only complaint is pool closes at 7:00 pm. Way to early for the very hot nights.

I just recently work here as a musician. I could boast the excellent hospitality in any area of this hotel from the house keeping to the Big Boss. I feel at home here and I call th my family. I would suggest it to everyone. A great place with awesome people.

We were a family with two children. I liked it. Only the floors in the room of natural stone are not very comfortable, but not creaky. There are a lot of shops and cafes nearby. Nearby, a market arrives several times a week at the temple's territory.

It's been a few years since we stated at the Centara Karon Resort. I didn't realize then how good it was until we recently stayed in Bangkok. The Centara has the Best service as a Resort I've ever stayed at. Although the furnishing were a bit dated. But where the resort lacked in updated furnishings, it made up for it in services. The resort provided FREE airport shuttle service to and from the resort, they upgraded my room (we stayed 10 nights), we were given FREE 30 minute massage, One or two nights a week, they offered a FREE Thai performance during dinner. Breakfast buffet was included in our package. I also enjoyed the bar in the swimming pool. I felt the resort appreciated my long stay at the resort. We miss the Thailand style banana pancakes in the morning for breakfast. The Irish Pus outside the property is owned by 3 Irish men and it offers English newspapers and Irish and British Beer & Cider. Keep in mind while reading my review, it looks like the resort has been remodeled since we last stayed at the Centara Resort.

Very nice facility. Modern and clean. Huge breakfast offer, but the price is adequate. Very freunliche staff. Great deals. Wellness and children's entertainment. The rooms in the pool are too noisy.

Pros, near the sea, three pools, in the evening if no one drives to swim, a lot of people close their eyes, you can sip beer.
The food is tasty and varied, taken only with breakfasts, (since we went to the new year, this is the peak of the season. ) The rest of the time restaurants, on the second line.
Minus came as a family of two children, had children to sleep on the same bed.

The hotel is close to the central street. The beach is 5-7 minutes away by foot. There are a lot of bars and restaurants around, where you can eat tasty and inexpensive, as well as mini Family Market and Seven Eleven. The grounds are large, there are two pools, one of which with children's slides. There are two Lotus and Azure restaurants. Lotus is bigger and the range is wider. Azur is smaller, quiet and calm. There is a large building multi-storey, and three storey buildings and bungalows with its small limited territory. We stayed in the Lagoon building on the second floor overlooking the pool. The soundproofing is not very good, but by 12 pm the noise is usually subsided. Breakfast is varied, always a lot of fruit-papaya, pineapples, bananas, watermelons, passion fruit. Sometimes there are chopped dragon fruit. Oatmeal, slicing cheeses, sausage, slicing vegetables-tomatoes, cucumbers, greens. There is also a corner with Thai food. There are about eight different dishes, you can try the main local specialties. These are mainly different types of noodles – glass, rice, udon with soy sauce, egg and wheat sprouts. There are also all the ingredients for English breakfast-scrambled eggs eggs, boiled egg or egg kashka, chicken sausages or pork and beans. We had a large family room Delux with two twin beds. Every day they bring water bottles for each person, as well as daily cleaning. There are 2 towels per person, one big and one small.

Amazing place to stay. Staff were beautiful. Rooms were nice and clean and comfy. Service always great. Food was beautiful at the places we ate at resort. Will be going back and highly recommend to anyone.

Upon arrival. Noone helped us with our luggage. Staff member that checked us in was rude and made snide remarks about our appearance. When entering the room, it was a small but spacious room with a free safe in the wardobe. Unfortunately our shower didn't fit in its holder and when using it, it twisted and sprayed everywhere. Please be warned that the shower turns from freezing cold to scolding hot in seconds so watch children closely. This hotel is a family centered hotel so do not go there if you want peace and quiet. Hotel staff do not give any information about the surrounding area so please check the TV information channel that gives basic details or ask anyone off the complex. If you are going down near the end of the breakfast time (10:30) for whatever reason (only just got to the hotel or just had a late night), be prepared for the staff to pester you to hurry up and make you feel uncomfortable for eating. Would not recommend this hotel as the staff didn't seem up to the task of helping to run the place or have any manners.

The resort is really nice and beautiful. It has a lot of things you can do there, it has 3 swimming pools, an open buffet for breakfast, a restaurant, a Taylor, you can get a massage and Manny more. The rooms are very nice, their nice and spacious and have everything you need. The service was also fantastic, the staff were very nice. For example, our TV wasn't working, so we told the reception and they sent someone up immediately to come and fix it once we asked. A great thing about the hotel is the location, you can just walk out of the hotel into the streets which are full of markets and food stands. Overall, this resort is just amazing.

Grounds look nice, our room is clean but very noisy with really bad views (front and rear). Was expecting something a bit more. The beach is very disappointing, couldn’t believe how dirty the upper part is and you have to cross two bad roads to get there. Initial impressions not too great, but we have still got 8 more days, things could change. First floor at the Terrace, avoid it like the plague!

The toilet is working properly. Drinking water is Free. Shapuni, coffee, tea, etc. Every day replenish (except toothbrushes pochemuto) Wi-Fi fast free! Breakfast.

Great hotel, especially for family holidays with Children. Everything is available: varied food, two swimming pools, including a children's playground with a slide, a children's area, a huge green Area. To the Sea 7 min on Foot. All Around There. The rooms are not new but everything is quite on the level.

Multi levels of room type all well cleaned from our experience. All the staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a great base for Karon beach. One note the bar drinks are country price dependant as in If your from Australia you will find them much the same as home but if your from Europe they will come across as expensive. Not so much a reflection on the hotel more the current exchange rate.

Lovely resort lots to do. Not far from the beach good for family's a lot of good restaurant. The hotal was nice and clean food was nice. What else can I say.

On arrival we were treated in a excellent manner by the man who opened our taxi doors and retrieved our luggage which were given to another member of the staff. We headed to the reception area and greetings were exchanged. The ladies there were fantastic! Treated as if we were special guests, escorted to our room.

Great vacation spot for families. Kids will love it. Away from the younger crowd that prefer the night life.

A great family resort. Beautiful exotic garden with fantastic swimming pool. Lots of dining options right outside the hotel.

An absolutely stunning resort. The staff are welcoming and very helpful; really professional. The resort has really great happy hour specials and a very good resident band.

Room is great with panoramic view. All the staff are so friendly. Foods great and reasonably priced for a large hotel. Plenty of room by the pools which are kept spotless along with the gardens. Perfect chilled holiday in the sun.

Accommodation is not bad. Pools are pretty good. Food and services in the resort are expensive compared to what you can find just outside the gate. Most staff struggle with basic English. The entertainment crew are European and great. Talk to them if you have dramas. They go out if their way to help and are great with the kids. They were the Best thing about the resort. We had breakfast included but found the food to be average at best at both restaurants. The larger restaurant was busy for breakfasts because it had more variety but was always a struggle to get to the food because of the small serving area and lots of people. Keep an eye on the eggs. Most often they were very raw. My son got food poisoning from the room service as well.

We spent 7 days at the Centara resort in Karon. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and inviting and the food in both restaurants was fantastic. The breakfast selection was vast and varied. The resort is family friendly with kid activities but also has an adult pool for those wanting peace and privacy. The personal attention given by the staff was demonstrated to me when on my birthday and card decorative elephant and free coctail voucher was left on my bed. I highly recommend this resort to families and individuals alike. I will be staying with the Centara group again.

The rooms are nice except the shower which is not at all convenient. Five minutes walk to the beach.

Treat yourself to the green areas. The rooms and the structure are not up to the level stated in relation to the Thai competition. It would take a general refreshment and a greater attention to detail. Overall decent.

Location not overpriced, not overly expensive, great SPA.

Had a fantastic time here. We had a cabana room with pool which helped us enjoy in the evening when the weather was clammy & we needed to cool down. We come here for our honeymoon, we loved it that much we come back last year in april too which happened to be thai new year were they have water fights in the street … alot of fun for the big kids lol. Food fantastic and plenty of other restaurants in walking distance just outside the hotel itself. Beach is literally 5 minutes away. The people are Amazing & although there is more for us to see in the world this place just keep pulling at our heart strings to come back! Thailand is not all about ladyboys like people would like you to believe. This is a little place of paradise & I can only suggest you try it to see exactly what we mean!

Not bad overall. Big resort. Decent sized rooms. Close to town and only 5 minutes walk to beach. To get free Wi-Fi in room, have to join their loyalty card (for free). Speed is great for Wi-Fi though. Guests seem to be made up of tour groups.

Territory well-kept, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, location.

So far this place is very fun… I was on the lazy river, did a 5K on the beach, ate at "the cove" 2x in 2 days (once for breakfast and once for dinner). Overall a good execution.

Dear Karon management I want to thank you for a brilliant experience at your hotel. I can make mention of Karoon and Game at reception who were most helpful in helping me with any problems and giving sound advice about local events and tours. My second trip to Thailand and my second stay at Centara Karon Resort in the past 6 months. First time was good, and staff very helpful and caring. Second trip and stay at the hotel were even better, mostly same staff, all remembered us, and made us feel very welcome. The new addition of Nikky, Drago, Miki, and Nella all from Croatia is a wonderful idea. These four speak perfect English, they are caring, and full of life. This time round Centara had so much more to offer because of these wonderful young people. They had a water arobics class happening each morning. A cooking class, a night at the restaraunt that for a reasonably set price offered all types of asian foods, They organized pool parties, Dressed up and sang happy birthday to visitors, had disco nights for the children, even superman came to visit the children. I cannot speak highly enough of these four young people. Breakfasts were great with much variety. Rooms to be honest are not exclusive, but are very very clean and comforable with everything one would need. Resort is spotless, you can take beautiful walks around the grounds and a wonderful spa, Great Gym, try it out. And please Centara keep the Croatian staff on premises.

Quiet n cosy place to hid away for a family weekend trip.

Just returned from this hotel after a 2 week stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, everywhere was very clean and the breakfast was faultless. I would recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again, only a two minute walk to the beach well worth a visit.

Great staff great atmosphere.

Pool area often covered with leaves and unbrushed. Towels grubby or missing. Breakfast unpredictable. Maintaince taking place but overall tired and in need of facelift.

Stayed 14 nights at the hotel, great for family as we have a 7 year old and a 3 year old, friendly staff. Food was great and show were wonderful. Hotel does need a bit of maintenance, due to climate condition. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel to any families. It is air conditioned, kids club, gym, swimming pools, spa, 2 main restaurants, accessible to traffic (pick up and drop off). Well secured an plenty more.

Just returned from a 10 day stay at the Centara Karon, we found everything was great including location, food, service, facilities, staff, cooking class etcetera. Definitely recommend it.

The 8 night stay at the resort was very nice. They have good facilities and from a *rating perspective, is a 3* and not 4* (relative to South Africa accommodation standards). The resort could also pay more attention to cleaning toilets and showers inside the rooms daily. The swimming pools are excellent and the restaurant provides good quality and variety food. We stayed in the terrace rooms (sea view) and we would upgrade to a more superior room (tropicale) on a return visit. The happy hour daily by the pool is a must (buy 1 get 1 free), between 5 and 7 pm daily. Overall, we would recommend the resort to future travellers.
