Had a fantastic week in one of the villas at Jamahkiri well equipped and appointed the views at sunrise and sunset are amazing good snorkelling just off shore. Super breakfasts at the restaurant can highly recommend the Asian breakfast and the banana pancakes are super wash them down with a mango juice and some coffee to set you up for the day. I can highly recommend if you are in Kho Tao this is a place to stay.

Beware of this SCAM! We stayed at Jamahkiri for 7 nights, from November 7th — 14th. We booked this resort for the dining experience, the spa and the diving, combined with a pool villa. When we arrived at the property everything was closed: — No Restaurant, so no breakfast, lunch or dinner, everything had to be ordered in and paid in cash, from restaurants that take 20mins drive to the hotel, all delivered cold and in plastic take out containers — No Bar — No common space — No Pool bar — No Spa — No Dive Center You could only stay at your villa, but not use their oh so advertised facilities. No where on their website or during the booking process is it stated that you cannot use any of the resorts facilities, It is a scam, plain and simple. We would’ve never booked Jamahkiri, if we were aware of that. For the lack of an alternative we had to stay. The manager did not offer us any reimbursement, only recognized that we are correct and they didn’t state anywhere that the facilities are all closed. In the end and to top it off we got offered 10% off the mini bar bill. Absolutely ridiculous for being defrauded into booking this.
In addition everyday there were overcharges on the mini bar bill.
Cleaning was very rudimentary and unsatisfactory in the villa. Whatever you do, absolutely don’t book with these greedy, unscrupulous people!

Beautiful, we saw turtles and had a great snorkel experience.

My Thailand vacation was great and exciting until I came across this resort. I mean the scenery and place looks good but their service needs a lot of improvement. Not recommended until they improve.

WOW! What an amazing hotel. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon last week and we absolutely loved it. Each and every single member of staff was amazing and so welcoming. The views were to die for. Absolutely incredible, we wish we stayed there longer than 5 nights.

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights on a 2 and a half week trip. We loved it. Staff were great, room and facilities were fantastic! Probably had the best views on the entire island. We chose Koh Tao and Jamahkiri in particular because I am a diver and wanted a more relaxed and professional experience; safe to say we made the right decision, the Junk (our dive boat) was well equipped and comfortable and at times I had my own personal dive guide. The main guides/instructors were Jess and Andy and they are the main reason I am giving this resort and it's dive aspect a 5 star, they were easy going, professional, safety concius, great divers and knowledgeable on their profession and dive sites. Could not highly recommend them enough and will come back to dive with them for sure. The stairs are something you may here complaints about, and there are alot of them. But you don't get the view without them. Worth it!

Amazing location and fantastic service. My wife and I came for our honeymoon and loved every minute of it. The included breakfast buffet and phenomenal room service food made the idea of leaving the resort unnecessary. Easy access to snorkeling, amazing pool, and every room with a view of the ocean… can’t go wrong. ❤️

Have not stayed there yet, but many people we know, have stayed there and highly recommend Jamahkiri. The photo's we've seen are amazing! Defginately on my bucketlist!

After booking with this hotel, we had some unfortunate events happen and needed to change plans. The management team was by far the worst management team I have ever dealt with. They wouldn’t respond to emails, they couldn’t answer our questions via telephone, and with months until our trip… they would not abide by their cancellation policy. At the end of the day I understand they have a business to run and it’s not about the money/changing plans/cancellations/refunds… it’s the way they handled our issue with such poor concern and complete lack of communication. We are a 12 hr difference and at one point they even told us we will have to stay up until 2AM our time to talk to the manager because that’s when he comes in since he didn’t reply to our multiple emails days prior.

Good experience to be there for 2 nights, starting with welcome drink and warm briefs for all hotel service and facility. Breakfast is perfect, variety and good taste but dinner just is a simple. Swimming pool and all staffs are very nice and friendly but there are too many steps outside and inside the hotel, I could see 2 times of accident falling down from the high steps.

It was perfect. Delicious food and really nice staff. Two swimming pools and the rooms clean and comfortable.

Just incredible. The best resort ever. It's located at the south tip of Koh Tao. They pick you up from the pier as soon as you arrive. The drive from the pier to the resort is around 10 minutes and it's very pleasant. I'm glad it's not at a very touristy area, the resort is well-kept and super super nice. Breakfast is phenomenal. Ocean beach access. They have boats that take you for snorkeling and scuba diving for a very reasonable price. You can even get your hours counted in their pool because it's deep enough. Massages are a great price. It's just simply fantastic. The only thing I wasn't expecting was the amount of stairs there are. But it's great because it tones up your ass while you're on vacation and eating lots. They thought of everything. There are shuttles that take you to town everyday at set times. Taxi rides are 400 baht. I would stay here again.

Special place. It's not New, but it's clean and well organized. We lived ib one of the big bungalows with fantastic view. The food was Fantastic and the staff was really pleasant. Jamahkiri is like an island on the island of koh tao. We will be back. However the island Koh Tao is a special place, but it is destroyed by tourism and because of missing local government to regulate how businesses run their place regarding waste. The town is strait out dirty and the authentic feeling is not there anymore.

For our trip to Thailand we chose this small island in the middle of nowhere.
Great choice I would say, even more the choice of the resort Jamahkiri!
The most beautiful on the island, characteristic for its location, its rooms and the beautiful location on the lovely Shark Bay!
Highly recommended to those who want to stay away from the casino of Sairee and Mae Haad.

So beautiful place with amazing facilities. Kind and helpful stuff. Breakfast was great. Unfortunately we stayed there just one night so we couldn't make the most of it.

What a gem of a hotel/resort! My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing! Thorough communication, incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, amazing food, and very clean rooms. I can't say enough good things about this place! Eye contact and warm friendly smiles at every turn. Yes… there are a ton of stairs so if that's a difficulty for you, you may need to look elsewhere, but I would 100% reccomend this resort to anyone staying in Ko Tao! They even took the time to surprise us with a nice bottle of champagne on our last day and gave us beautiful flowers at our last dinner. Their staff even stayed with us at the port, literally waited and physically took my many luggage bags to the boat for me instead of just dropping us off and leaving. (He must have waited an hour with us). Above and beyond kindness and service! Thank you!

The complex is absolutely beautiful — yes there are many stairs, but you get used to it. It's a perfect place to relax. The pool is great, the pavilion was great without being smear. The view is breathtaking throughout. The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
BUT — what really didn't go at all is the restaurant. The prices are excessively coated by Thai standards — luxury hotel back or forth. The Thai food we ate was unfortunately not good. So we really can't recommend the restaurant. Not only are these prices completely excessive — everything is packed again 17% (Service & Taxes). Whether cocktail or even ice cream by the pool, massage in the mediocre spa (the massages were no different than in every 300 baht massage salon in Bangkok) or food — always nice 17% on the already overpriced prices on it. That took on absolutely ridiculous proportions.
Even so — the hotel is really gorgeous.

Paradise! Both the hotel and the benefits as well as the happiness… the island of Kho Tao is very picturesque and the miraculous dives.

The pool is very nice and the restaurant by the pool is good. The prices are higher but the quality is at the rendezvous.

Excellent place, pity that there are many stairs, but everything else 10 points. You VAB to search to the port, carry the suitcases, there are several free services, the place a paradise, I recommend to 100 percent.

Good resort, with direct access to the sea. Friendly and helpful staff. Took care of our vegetarian food requirements. Loved it. Hope to go back soon.

Excellent Hotel I highly recommend.

Superb… very very good staff. Everything is at the top… except the stairs. And yes, hotel on a hill and flank suites so it's climbing at a time. But really! Otherwise a green setting at the edge of the water.

Nice views but several negative points. No Beach. There is one but you arrive with boat and you must pay entry. The other point is the stairs. Really tiring to move to the pool, to the breakfast room, to the reception. It's not a minor detail really. There is no elevator and it is pushed.
The warmth of the. Staff is remarkable.

Great place to stay. Near Shark Bay. Amazing snorkelling 1 minute to beach.

Great resort! We had little guests in our pavilion that really made it for us with their little chirps. We relaxed in the spa, and swam in the pool. The pool is great, with a nice water feature. The restaurant breakfast in the morning is good, with lots of options, some that change. The restaurant dinner menu is exceptional and the staff are friendly and attentive. They're also wonderful to talk to. Our only problem with the resort was that our Wi-Fi was too far from the room to work while inside. We quickly realized that sitting on the balcony would be our only way of using it. This won't be the case for all rooms I'm sure. There's quick access to the sea below with a small private beach. An important thing to note: if you like stairs, this resort is for you.

Beautiful facility, friendly and service-oriented staff, good food and great diving school. You can see directly that the resort is run by a Frenchman (and not by any of the unfortunately — see the reviews of other resorts — rather two-faced locals). In short: The Place to be for every trip to Koh Tao!

This resort was nothing short of spectacular. Yes, the resort is built into the side of a cliff and there are numerous stairs but that adds to the beauty of the property. I wish I could have stayed longer than two nights!

Beautiful place, the Unoca beats Q has too many steps and at breakfast they charge the coffee, ugly Detaye for a 5 ⭐

Very beautiful and high class. A great service. Good for couples in an honeymoon or people who want a quite place. They have very good water sport attraction and the personnel is also great. Too many stairs (hundreds for each walk), not one lift, not even between the stories. Far from the center and the good places of the island. There is a shuttle service a few times a day but strangely it goes only to the pier and they strongly ressist to go also to the city center which is to minutes drive from the pier. The hotel have a beautiful view, but ironically it doesn't have a real beach. Only small artificial one. There is a beautiful beach near it but you will ask to pay for the hotel next to it for each visit.

Thank you Jamahkiri. I had an absolutely wonderful 8 night stay. My room was beautiful with the most amazing view to start my day. Breakfast was delicious, the pool was refreshing with the plenty of loungers for all guests. Lots of stairs to climb as per previous reviews so something for guests with mobility issues to consider — however I think that it’s everywhere in Koh Tao, not just here. 4 x per day shuttle into town and the complimentary boat to the next beach was really handy. All staff were exceptionally friendly, professional and hospitable. As you can tell, I can’t speak highly enough of my experience at your resort. I really hope I get the opportunity to come back in the future. Thanks again.

We loved this place. Everything is beautiful. The restaurant is OK. The free diving or bottle is international level. It's one of the few places where we could go back.

Was the last hotel of our trip. Amazing place, breathtaking views. Even had some white tip sharks in the bay. You need to be fit and mobile, 134 steps to and from our room. Saved going to the gym! Food was amazing but prices were high. Great diving school, top kit and reasonable rates. Have to get a very quick shuttle to the beach next door but can easily swim there as it's shallow. Rooms were excellent, we were at the bottom right over the ocean. Happy hour at the bar at 5pm was great. Would go again!

It was my wives birthday whilst we were here and the staff could not have made it any better for her. Love it here so much, we will return very soon.

Lived in pavilion, it's really great experience. So quite place. Amazing views! not too many activities: diving, snorkling, kayaking, swimming, eating, sleeping, … :)

Simply top class. Beautiful location, great rooms and attentive service. Snorkeling just below your own balcony and 5-10 mins into town with free shuttle.

Upscale and unique experience. Each room is set up a little different and away from each other (built into the hill) overlooking the water. The hotel is 5 star in my opinion. The rooms are extremely good and the beach near by is not accessible by foot, but the hotel has a boat dedicated to take you to and from the beach (one minute boat ride). The beach is fairly private and takes you away from the big touristy crowds of Ko Tao. Hotel access from the Ko Tao pier: requires a cab ride which can get costly if you take several trips to and from there each day. The hotel does not rent Mopeds (unlike some other hotels in Thailand). Breakfast is quite good. I never got to use the pool at this hotel (didnt feel the need given the beaches). Con: If you are unable to climb a lot of stairs, this may not be the place for you. Our room could only be accessed after climbing approximately 200 steps (downhill on the way to the room and uphill on the way to the restaurant / lobby). It's fine as you get a lil bit of exercise. Pros: The rooms are incredible (they're more like little luxury huts with beautiful views, as opposed to hotel rooms).

FABULOUS island resort at a very nice price.

The best hotel I ever stayed in. Wonderful view (see picture of bedroom taken from balcony with reflection of view outside). Also the resto is delicious and we saw two small sharks when snorkelling in the bay.

I stayed here for 4 nights on my honeymoon and it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in, the views were sensational, the staff were friendly, service was great and the day spa was lovely. I really couldn't fault this resort — amazing.

The best spa I have ever been to — such an experience for what you pay. We stayed for a dinner after our treatment (try the noodle coated fried prawns). And everything including the food, the view, the service. Was just breathtaking! Loved it.
