Would stay in this place again. Location is down a soi so you're not on the main road b it it's within walking distance of the road and bar streets etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They cannot do enough for their guests. Rooms have good air con, hot water, are very spacious, come with a free water daily, TV with some usable channels, fridge etc. Like staying in a good standard hotel but having some of the Thai style in the room and lounge. Breakfast was OK. The coffee was really nice from a proper machine but the rest was continental, serve yourself with the option to make your own eggs. There are also different seating areas so you don't have to eat at a communal table and mingle in the morning.

At this price bracket, this is five stars. Clean, good sized rooms and decent sized bathrooms compared to other places in Thailand for the same price. They really need to fix the idle timeout on the Wi-Fi though. You’re automatically logged out after more than a minute of no activity. Almost worth taking a star off just for that.

Self service breakfast is awesome. Great coffee. Front desk is just friendly and nice.

I pay a room, the next day they ask me to leave because the room had already been booked without anyone telling me! Poor bedding and poor internet connection.

Simply the best in Chang Rai. Of course if you are looking for genuine experience of Northern Thailand not for 5 star fancy hotels which look the same wherever you go.

Good room with large equipment. As part of the accommodation, free coffee, toast and eggs. Perfect for a small breakfast. Very nice and helpful service throughout the day on site. Rooms cleaned every day. We are very happy. Couple from Poland.

Love this place. Really nice rooms (spacious, clean, bright, well equipped, quiet) and excellent service (fast Wifi, friendly and helpful staff) for a good price. Just the breakfast could use a bit more diversity. 1st choice for Chiang Rai.

For the price, Baan Malai is unbeatable in terms of price, location and service. The room is quiet, clean, dark (once you close curtain), bright when you open the curtain, big and comes with everything you would need in a good hotel room which are balcony, free drinking water, strong Wi-Fi signal, powerful shower with hot water, quiet A/C, a fridge and a comfortable bed. Although I would have preferred a better pillow (but it may have been just me as my friend slept like a baby). Basic breakfast is even included as complimentary! Hotel is super conveniently located on a quiet side road less than 5 mins stroll to the centre. Be sure to try the thai-Chinese restaurant at the corner (opens til late). Most notably, I have to congratulate the owner! He definitely has great service mind and passion for what he does and this surely pas through to his team.

Stay in GH on Feb with my mum, she liked here so much, good service, easy to find, free breakfast, big and clean room, nice staff, I recommend this^^

Good location within walking distance to food, convenient store and night bazaar.

Relaxing atmosphere… just like home… near the Night Bazaar and a host of eateries… what more can I say…

Very comfortable stay. The owners and staffs are very friendly and honest. You can rent motor bike here and they will send to Baan Malai. Getting here from Bus Station is only 5 minutes walk if you know the short cut otherwise you'll walk 10 to 15 minutes if you use GPS. Walking along road to hotel has several restaurants and massage shops.

Simple, clean and at a non touristic corner of Chiang Rai. The staff was friendly. The prices were ok. I would recommend this place for a stay.

The best place to sleep at chiang rai, few minutes walk from the night market, very nice and clean, and despite that our deal did not include free breakfast, thay offered us breakfast for free, and the staff was amazing.

Just want to say that is a really nice place to spend quality time. The staff are really nice, the rooms are perfect and very clean. I recomand this resort and ensure you will have grate time. To came back to this place is all ready on my wish list.
