I had a fantastic time staying at Resotel Baan Sanook. I wanted to visit Sakon Nakhon to experience indigo dyeing and Robert made this possible. We went to a farm surrounded by lush, green rice fields where some ladies showed us the whole indigo dyeing process and we were able to try each stage ourselves and tie dye a T-shirt and scarf. Then we went to a village and saw people making the indigo products in their homes. I loved this experience, it was very special to see the traditional textile art and the local people were so friendly and welcoming.
On my second day we rode on scooters through farm land and rural villages to a reservoir where we had a very relaxing herbal bath and massage. They were selling textiles made by the natural dye from buffalo dung. This was very interesting to see.
On the third day we explored some undiscovered waterfalls and had fun sliding down them. We drove along farm tracks through rubber plantations and saw lots of the beautiful countryside.
The resort has a very luxurious feel to it and I was made to feel very at home. I enjoyed swimming in the pool each morning before breakfast.
There is so much to see in the area and I hope to visit again to see more!

It feels like a warm bath arriving at this beautiful place in the Isaan. So close to the local people and the great service of Linnee and Robert. Great rooms and I especially love the breakfast and the service that goes with it. 5 Stars for me for this place, thank you both for taking good care of us. And yes, I loved the motorbiking too. You really know where to go Robert!

Beautiful place in the Isaan. Family hotel run by Robert and his Thai family. Robert has an extended knowledge of many secret gems in the region. Great host!
Lovely breakfast with oven baked German bread rolls, Dutch Cheese, fruit, yoghurt etc. Very good coffee. Two nice pools in beautiful garden. Was great we could watch the final 2019 F1 race live. Thank you for organizing our exclusive unforgettable boat trip on Red Lotus Lake and your many tips on worthwhile places to stop in Isaan.
