What an absolute gem! Amber Sands was absolutely perfect, even when it rained it was beautiful and relaxing. We stayed in a beach bungalow which was immaculately clean, well presented and very cosy. I wish I could take the bed home, it was extremely comfortable. The rooms are serviced daily and we were surprised by different towel sculptures. The food was extremely tasty and very reasonably priced, nothing was too much trouble to change, if we didn't want the exact menu option, and from what I could see everything was prepared and cooked freshly. The restaurant is open 8-8.30 and has a wonderful selection of Thai and western options. Simon and Ming are fantastic hosts and their staff are very attentive, leaving no details to chance. The facilities are great too, so even thought Koh Chang is a beautiful island to explore and visit, Amber Sands is a great base, situated on the traditional side of the Island to start your exploration or just stay put and absorb the ambience of a beautiful site. We had free use of the pool (with an abundance of fresh towels) table tennis, gym, kayaks, paddle boards (life jackets provided) loungers and beach beds. Simon's local knowledge is priceless, giving us great ideas and the resources to arrange many trips, car hire and tips of where to go. Nothing is beyond the Amber Sands staff and I would come back in a heart beat! Thank you Simon, Ming and staff for a truly memorable stay.

I really enjoy staying here with my friends. The resort is clean and very peaceful. The ocean is calm compare to other beaches on the island even in July. Food taste good and my Pina Colada is awesome! Staffs are so kind and willing to help you with anything. Resort locates not so far from Center point Pier. If you would like to really relax on the beach, Amber Sand is where you should visit. See you again Amber Sand!

What a place for relaxation! This is a perfect getaway from the busy lifestyle. They made the right decision to leave out the TV sets. The only motor sound we heard over the days we stayed was a small fishing boat from a distant. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation on the island, this is it! Complete paradise! Lovely owners and staff, great views, and beautiful surroundings. They took care of all of my family's needs with a smile and were so helpful in planning trips and activities. On top of it all, the food in the restaurant is fantastic. Get away from it all (especially the crowds) at Amber Sands. Can't recommend it more highly!

The moment you turn into Amber Sands the ambiance is amazing! Paradise does not begin to explain. The welcome, friendliness, and view! WOW, it is breath taking. We stayed in the beach house and the room had everything we needed and was beautiful and clean. From our massive comfy bed in the morning we could watch the sun rise with the added bonus of a balcony. The food is to die for, totally authentic Thai (also, western options if prefer) all freshly prepared! A special thank you for Ning her Thai curry and fresh prawns are a must!
Simon and his staff are fantastic, nothing was any trouble! Simon organised us a massage on the beach, scooters to see the island and even fresh fish/sea food for our romantic evening meals over looking the sea. Prices are very reasonable if not cheap!
We even used their Kayak and paddle board (kayak and paddle board foc) it was great fun!
I highly recommend Amber Sands it truly is a must! It has everything you need for a truly authentic, unspoilt Thailand get away we will be returning soon!

The beach is less pleasant than the hotel.

Went to Koh chang for the first time and spent holidays at a very beautiful, relaxing and luxurious resort. Nice room, great views, good restaurant, kid friendly, beautiful pool with a very helpful from Cheryl, Julian and their staff. Would recommend to anyone, walkable from anywhere to spend your holidays here.

At the restaurant you eat very well and the staff is very friendly and understands very well everything! Green spaces very well kept.

Very nice resort to relax.

Very nice small and quiet Hotel. Romantic and only 8 Bungalows. Who wants to Action can be easy to are very inexpensive by Taxi to the other side of the island, for example, to the White Sand Beach, with many tourists, Restaurants, Bars, etc. The owner is super friendly and always helpful. Also the staff is always very nice and the food is very good. The Restaurant is directly on the beach with a few tables in the Thai style. Absolutely recommended.

The best place to stay. For me Amber Sands is the best place I've never been. And Sheryl and Julien make you feels like at home. Lovely holidays.

East side Koh Chang is radically different than west side. West side is high service and experience and lots of people. East side is almost no people so it's calm and secluded and you get the feeling that you're the only ones there. At Amber Sands we were told to grab a drink from the fridge and sign for it if we want something, while in the west side hotels the staff would come to our beach chairs and ask to take an order and then deliver it. So if you want to feel like you went to your own country house then go east side, but if you want service go west side. Our room at Amber Sands did not have a functioning fridge. The AC worked but was too weak to make the room cold so we were stuck at 29-30 degrees. I have rarely been sweating so much in my life, and previous guests must have felt the same because the room and especially the bed smelled of old stale sweat. Compared to a west side hotel in the same price range the bed was really bad quality. So overall I'd give the hotel one star because it was not a great experience and the same price on the other side of the island gives you a lot better experience. On the other hand, the feeling of seclusion and low stress environment is a five star experience if that is your thing, so I will give it three stars average.
