Mad Cow Hostel Silom Wacky Fun Party Hostel Hostel

Not exactly a party hostel but great location for such a price. Would definitely stay at this place again.

My husband & I stayed at the Mad Cow Hostel (listed as Funky Cow in our guidebook) in Silom district for 2 nights. We chose this hostel as it was the most budget friendly place in the Silom area, where we had a couple business meetings scheduled. It was fairly easy to find, located just off the main road, making it a little quieter than other places directly on Silom Rd. A small front patio was a nice place to sit and people watch. We arrived at 13:50 and check in isn't until 14:00. We waited the 10 minutes, where we were promptly checked in by the friendly front desk lady, though she needed a bit more information than other hostels (like our departure card & booking number — which may be due to booking through an outside website, no problem). Be sure to arrive during check in times as the staff isn't always right on hand. We were shown to our private, aircon room on the second floor. The bed is on the floor with little space around it, but it worked just fine for two nights. The air conditioning was nice and cold. The room was clean, so no problem being on the floor. The shared bathrooms were just outside the room, and though there were only 2 on our floor, we rarely had to wait for one. There were many other bathrooms on the other floors above if there was a short wait on our floor. The bathrooms were clean, though constantly wet since the showers are in the same space as the toilet & sink. The atmosphere is very budget backpacker.

ファンのドミトリーに宿泊したのですが、ベッドがとにかく揺れやすくて眠りづらかったです。こんなの初めてかも…。夜通り揺れていたので、人が登るときとかではなく寝返りとかそういうレベルで揺れていたんじゃないかな… 全体的に施設は古い感じですが、他は値段相応です。この値段でタオルをつけてくれるのは嬉しい。

It's not luxurious at all but I think it's good for the price. Near by a night market. Very friendly owner.

Excellent value for money. They provide a locker room and a towel for free.

Good place stay for backpackers. Cheap and clean. Online bookings are available.

Cheap price and good location in Silom. Friendly staff. No aircon (only fans) in the common area and some matress are uncomfortable. Clean enough but in general all is a bit old and dark. Hot water, towel not included.

Good hostel atmosphere, great location are the good thing on the downside the rooms are cramped with just a bed no place to keep luggage, AC doesn't work and similiar hostels in Bangkok offers Kitchenette for Tea/coffee which was not there. Decent place for solo travellers looking to stay central but not if you are looking more than a shoe string.

The People and the staff there were lovley! but the aircon was broken and you couldn't sleep at night because it was too hot and there were only two fans in the dorm. I would stay again because the environment in the hostel was really good.

Good hostel, good location, lockers and warm showers. Beds very noisy though.

The things happening there are beyond the staffs control. People sleep in the lobby, get wasted and behave aggressive. Only go there if that's what you like to do, too.

Good location, clean and quiet, large beds but no internet at the time. Not much social for those who like it.

What we like: the price, placed in the city, freedom, enough clean & space What we don't like: AC don't work properly, its far old, we wait long for check in. If we would advise? hard to say… we had spend almost the same money for a better places in bangkok.
