Great hotel to spend the full day at Jambiani Beach. Big rooms with balcony, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Delicious breakfast with low tide view. Staff very friendly. Definitely would like to come back. Loved it!

This cosy, familiar hotel situated at Jambiani Beach is the perfect place to stay at Zanzibar. It feels like being in paradise. The whole team makes your stay an unforgettable time. The food is delicious and the rooms are nice and have wonderful seaview. We will come back for sure.

My friend and I stayed for just one night at Blue Oyster back in August. We were working in Jambiani and fancied a night at a hotel as a weekend treat. We arrived at about 8pm and were greeted by the really friendly reception staff who offered us a glass of fresh fruit juice. Our room was AMAZING; so spacious and clean. The view overlooked the ocean. The next morning we had breakfast at the restaurant which was delicious. They made this creamy chickpea curry type dish which was my absolute favourite (I have never had anything like it! ) After breakfast and check out we were encouraged to stay and relax for a few hours before we had to leave. I will definitely be returning to Blue Oyster on my next trip — thank you very much!

Very friendly staff. Hotel located perfectly on the beach, nice ambiance, lovely sunrise, beautiful rooms with balcony overlooking garden and ocean. Area is fenced in and feels very safe.

Only visited restaurant but had nice meals with a good sea view.

Wonderfull hospitable lodge with delicious breakfast: f. I. Delicious fresh Kilimanjaro filter coffee and brown tasty bread. No instant coffee here. And you can escape the sweet white Tanzanian bread. This is probably one of the best designed places to enjoy the marvelous changing collours and tides of the Indian ocean in Jambiani. The room terras with sea view and warm light of the sunrise in the morning are a perfect way to start your day. The marvelous garden with trees and green gras adds colours and provides a nice contrast with the white sand, the well positioned compounds and the sea. I like the architectural decisions that were made. And the care for sustainability and the local community are heart warming. I have one suggestion for the lodge: think about a nice plan (roof terras) towards the village, for the perfect sun-downer… ;-)

It's a lovely place especially for weekends with family. You will enjoy, not much crowded also.

Sustainable and socially run hotel with no frills and with good views for what makes holidaymakers happy: great view of the Indian Ocean, super service, encounter between people at eye level, good food from local producers, interesting Excursions. Very suitable for holidaymakers who would like to meet the country and its people. Nothing for luxury holidaymakers who want to be shielded by the pool.

The best restaurant in Jambiani. Wonderful ocean view, very friendly and well trained staff and excellent food. The waiting time was short and we actually got what we ordered (unlike most other places here). Credit cards accepted.

Really chilled out place with such a good vibe. Its nice and cozy, and if you dont need a room nd are jus there for lunch, they let you crash for the whole day on their chairs with restroom services for free.

We have been in the Blue Oyster Hotel in June 2017, had for sure one of the most pleasant stays on a beach hotel so far. And today, 6 months later, we received a beautiful card for Xmas, signed by all the staff, … That brought our memories right back to that awesome place. Blue Oyster met and exceeded all my expectations of a romantic getaway. Spacious rooms with beautiful balconies and great view of sunrise, sunset and the moon. Local juice, seafood platter and a host of places to see. Had fun snorkeling with the support of staff who are always handy as tour guides and advisors.

I was there 3 times now… and I can not wait to get there again.
Rooms are clean and lovely, staff is nice and friendly.
But most important: The athmosphere and view is amazing.
The perfect place to chill and relax in a nature bounded environment.

We didnt stay at the hotel, but spent the day on tge beach chairs and had a great launch. Most friendly staff and a beautiful place! especially godbless the bartender who was extremely kind to us.

Compared to kiwenga, pongwe and nungwi We felt most comfortable in blue oyster in jambiani, very friendly staff, they didnt try too hard, food was great, ambience natural and beach not overcrowded with money grabbers and scammers. Definitely the most enjoyable part of our stay in zanzibar. The kitchen was on a really high level.

We visited the restaurant two times for lunch. It was excellent and the staff was very nice. Also the view to the sea was gorgeous.

The food took nearly 2 hours to arrive and when we got the club sandwiches they where greasy and had little filling did have a good view though.

Had a wonderful time there and will come back to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the stunning beach. The staff supported me to find a flight back home, which helped me a lot. The view from the terrace is just great, the changing colours of the sea, the different tides. It is a perfect place to fill your soul with lots of good memories.

Relaxed atmosphere and western food.

The blue Oyster hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever visited. It is situated on the pristine beach of Jambiani, a small fishing village. Here you can have everything relaxed hours under palm trees on visits to cultural sites to water sports activities whatsoever (in the neighbouring village). The staff has organized everything and recommended great tours. The hotel itself is clean, very well maintained and the food delicious! I will not forget so quickly the sight of the terrace of the restaurant. Simply times a really successful and beautiful holiday, easy and relaxed.
