Close to Mational museum and nice restaurants with views of ocean. Friendly, helpful staff. Concierge helped us get a sim card and airtime. Rooms can be on the small side unless you ask for something larger. Great pool area with tables surrounding for relaxation. Excellent breakfast buffet! Also within walking distance of two great coffee shops.

This is the third time I am coming to this hotel and the standard is still the same. The food is delicious and the breakfast buffet wonderful. The staff is very nice, smiling and does everything to make your stay a special one. This hotel has a character and a soul. Thanks to Dinish and all his team.

This is a good hotel with lots of different restaurants. I love their cafe with desserts. Unfortunately they need to build more parking space. You sometimes have to go and park your car in areas with terrible space where it is not safe. For such a big hotel they need to step that up. I also like the security at the gate. It is makes you feel good in this day and age. One thing I suggest is a place for children to play and enjoy as well as baby sitting servicesso adults can get grown up time. The old style of the building is so beautiful. The staff are very friendly. Would love to visit again.

Very classic hotel that gives a feeling of being in an old colonial building with all the comfort of a modern hotel. The staff are well trained and friendly, and the night manager does all he can to assist his guests. The breakfast spread is adequate with friendly breakfast staff. Parking is however limited and the rooms could be a little more comfortable but it is a good hotel.

The bed was comfy, the room and toilet was super clean. Great buffet breakfast. They are so helpful, my flight was cancelled, so I had some things to freeze, they helped me to freeze.

Nice and cozy old styled hotel in Dar Es Salaam, close to the city center. Small rooms, but comfortable. Open air swimming pool is a good option to relax after hot day.

We had a fantastic experience at the Protea Dar after our rental fell through. The historical building offers a lovely ambience for sitting by the pool or dining. They have an excellent indian food menu at the restaurant coupled with an extensive wine selection.

They save delicious food with varieties of choices. It a quite place we're u can enjoy your privacy. It is very close to the city centre.

Its ok but could improve the outside the fence environment by planting a nice lawn, colourful flowers and maintaining the greenary and cleanliness all the way to the tarmac road.

Quiet place to have a rest at, popular to foreign tourists, they have sharp staffs, and plenty of deserts options. They have small open space, swimming pool and bedrooms. Otherwise, its a great place.

This was a classy place to be. Not far from the State house in Tanzania, near palm beach, there is a unique serenity added to the good service from the disciplined and respectful staff.

Charming, quaint, historical. It's in a great part of town — as close as you'll get to the city center, without any chaos. The Seaview area is quiet, safe, and easily accessible. The restaurant is among the best in the city thanks to a 5star head chef. I've been living in Dar for many years, Protea is probably the best kept secret for hotels. Even if you don't stay here, check it out.

Its a nice cozy/snug place. Good hospitality, excellent food, fantastic rooms. Clean pool. There only problem its the parking space.

Parking an issue. Came in for a corporate dinner so didn't get to see the rooms. Food in the restaurant was great. Bar seemed inviting too. Staff is very professional and friendly. Nice lobby area too.

Great hotel, just note they don't cater for disable people. They don't have ramps for people on wheel chairs. All in all they are a great hotel great service.

Classy surroundings, fittingly satisfied by excellent indian and italian food. Service tends to fluctuate, but the arrival of the food will fulfill your taste buds, and more. Quite reasonably priced, and some may be surprised to hear the cost of this restaurant in a hotel offers better food than several restaurant in the city centre with lesser luxuries and higher costs. A restaurant that deserves more attendance.
