➜ The Hotel Alpen View offers a reasonable price-performance ratio for Swiss standards. The packages include the entrance to the thermal baths not 30 meters away from the hotel and the Gemmibahnfahrten. The rooms are still in the original retro style of the 70 years and so far clean and OK. The breakfast buffet is very good. The kitchen can also be described as a little frumpy under the heading "Swiss retro cuisine" with classics such as Riz Casimir, beef ragout, boiling meat or raclette. So if you like it more old-fashioned, you will get the money. The only thing that has bothered us is the smell in the hallways from the 0 to 2 of the hotel. On the upper floors This is not the case. It is probably used room fresheners, which then together with the rather old-fashioned carpets make an unpleasant touch. When the annexes are refurbished, we recommend slab floors instead of carpeted floors. And above all: bright colors! The hotel is well recommended if you are not too demanding in total.
Great location very close to the Leukerbad Therme, parking on site, friendly cleaning staff, comfortable rooms, and once-daily access to the Therme included are the positives. There are negatives… The passageways were all dark, and guests need to press switches to turn the lights on as they walk through. It was uncomfortable to have the elevator open to a completely dark hallway, or to fumble in the dark to find the switch. The hotel should invest in motion detectors. Finally, we had a miscommunication over the number of my children, and I was made to feel like a thief by the manager and lectured extensively about the importance of disclosing guests. This situation was handled poorly, and caused unneeded stress in my vacation.
