Terrible service from the front desk officer and the manager, they are very rude to customers. The buffet is a joke! But yet they call themselves a 5 star hotel. Other staff were friendly and the rooms were good.

I stopped in this resort for some lunch the other day and really loved the atmosphere. The food was super tasty, and quite fresh, and was a nice chill place to spend the afternoon. I can't quite remember the girl's name who helped me at reception I think it was Luchannie but she was really sweet, helpful, and a genuinely friendly and bubbly person. I'll be sure to stop in again for dinner or a spa day before going home.

Thank you for the wonderful job you did with our family birthday party. The staff was superb!. Every person worked smoothly, efficiently and most importantly with a smile. Every detail was covered; from the table decorations and serving to the clean-up. What a professional team you have. You made the event one of the most memorable birthday celebrations. I visited this place to chilling with my friends couple of days ago and it was nice and I got a tremendous experience with friends at this place. Nice environment and friendly staff made us feeling comfortable. Specially I need to say “ thanks” to the girl who name is Lochana nethmini. It occurs to me that, she works there as a training receptionist. She helped us to show the hotel area and she gave a nice explanation about this hotel. She has well trained and friendly. Recommend this place 💯

Just want to say a big thank you to Marriott-Weligama team for making our wedding perfect. It has been almost 4 months since our wedding, but we still get so much great feedback from our guests about how great the food was. Thanks to Mr. Sameera — Our Banquet supervisor. And Thanks to Ms. Nimesha (Sales executive) and Ms. Malmi (Event Coordinator). Both of them were very professional, nice and helped us throughout the planning process, and they were always available for texts, phone calls, and emails whenever we had questions. Special thanks goes to Mr. Dilshan Mudalige. We are so grateful for everything you have done for us from the beginning. Overall, the Marriott staff is great to work with, food was fantastic and the services exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 4 days here and we must say that it is the best vacation we've ever had! From the moment we entered, the staff were really kind and welcoming. Everything was perfect. The hotel was very clean and had the best facilities. Once again we visited Weligama today and didn't forget to visit TIDES @ Marriot, where we always made special memories thanks to their yummy cocktails, fantastic food and hospitality. I was so suprised and glad to see how the staff at TIDES welcomed us today (they actually identified us). And treated us with warm smiles, and yummy cocktails. And I even get to try and make the newest cocktails by my self, created by the bar tender Janaka, and special thanks goes to Janaka for catering us up to our requirements and needs with full of care. We had a superb evening again and felt like it is my second home and make me want to visit Marriot again and again. My regards goes to other staff members at TIDES as well for recognising us and identifying and treating us (their valuable Local customers) with utmost care. Keep up the good work guys. Hoping to see you guys in the near future. Cheers.

From the time we checked in the service, staff were of very high standards. Maintaining what this island is known for the beautiful smiles. Most staff are extremely helpful and courteous! The food at Weligama Kitchen was just excellent and we enjoyed our meals. The rooms were comfortable and so well planned including the amenities available to all guests. This place is amazing. This is our 2and visit with family… highly recommend for all… food was so tasty specially the biriyani and the Asian noodle soup was superb… and very polite and friendly staff with excellent service… keep up the good work as always Bay Marriott Resort & Spa…

It was a great time we had. Friendly staff. Restaurant staff were very kind and attentive. We were 3 adults with 5 kids. We felt very safe. Staff always with their face masks. It's a covid safe place!
I celebrated my husband's 50th birthday and the staff arranged us a surprised birthday table, which made us an unforgetable memory.
The room is with beautiful modern interior/bath accessories. The ocean view from the room is breathtaking! We enjoyed Aqua Zumba splash/ and had a learning session of surfing too.
Special thanks to Fayaz (the restaurant manager) and his team for arranging a surprize birthday table and for lovely singing group. Also special thanks to Reshan (Asst. Director of food and beverage) for his hospitality and generosity.

One of the best Hotels! The food, atmosphere, the rooms and the service was excellent. Especially the waligima Kitchen staff was friendly and so helpful! Can’t forget the kids club. Lovely people! Would recommend without any doubt!

Came here on the 26th and it was the best experience ever! From the moment I stepped in, everyone at the hotel were very helpful. The service was very good! The rooms were just magnificent and relaxing and the view from the room was just something else! The food was also great. Mr. Sujeewa at the weligama kitchen was really helpful and gave a really good service. In conclusion, everything was just perfect and I would recommend everyone to come and visit this hotel.

Lovely hotel. Top floor has some wonderful views. You can just enjoy beautiful Sunset and can feel the waves of the ocean… food is good and worth paying for. Beach is on your doorstep but can get busy. Staff are very friendly. In love with Weligama, Sri Lanka…

We had a brilliant time here at Marriott Weligama. Loved the amazing view of the beach from the room balcony. It was one of the best beaches I have been to in Srilanka.
Buffet was excellent and had a good variety of International and Srilankan Cuisine. The staff were very friendly at all times.
Kids had a an amazing time at the hotel and loved the Kids club. Kids club staff were very kind and caring.
Overall, we were very pleased with the stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

My husband took me there for a stay. Actually we were there to celebrate our 3 months wedding anniversary. Everything there was perfect. Great hospitality, great food, the beach was great, the view from the room across the bay was breathtaking. Thanks to Ms Bishari we got to get the maximum of our stay. We’ve been visiting many famous hotels since the wedding but this is the one we love the most. The room was very clean and was in good quality. The staff was very friendly with locals and they were not giving priority to foreigners which was the major reason why we loved the place so much. Highly recommend this place to relax and enjoy.

I stayed at Marriott Resort and Spa for two days. It’s an excellent choice for a vacation. The pool and landscaping are beautiful.

Great location but room are getting a bit dated. Beach bar and restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices.

One of the best resorts in Weligama. Returned here for the second time and for the second time stayed in a garden villa. Among pros which could be underlined: outstanding helpful staff, which could resolve any problem; proximity to the beach — 5 meters from the hotel’s pool and total absence of noise, which was very important for me as I wanted to have total relaxation after hassle of big cities. Of course, I’ll definitely return here for the third time in near future.

Well from the time we made the booking until we checked out after 3 days it was wow wow! All the way!
Very friendly, knowledgeable and service oriented Team from the Front office / Restaurant/Bar staff /house keeping and all other staff made our stay one of the best ever vacation!
The Kitchen concept at the Dining Restaurant was fantastic and food from multiple continents was so delicious & fresh and when the Sous Chef surprise with a dish specially prepared for you at Lunch or Dinner time the wow factor goes further high!
A Restaurant staff offer you to run through the Buffet Areas everytime you come in which I have never experienced any where else in the other Hotels!
Spa service was excellent and Marriott style I guess!

Lot of tourists too visit this place. Very beautiful place. All types of food is available and this hotel is situated on weligama. This town is famous among local and forgein visitors too. Best place to relax in weligama.

We stayed in this hotel with my family just for two days. It's a good place to relax. Hotel and the services are very good. Specially the management staff is very friendly and it made us feel very welcome.

EXCELLENT, beautiful staff, great location, shame about the development next door. Your place was so in keeping with its surrounds not to big, keep up the good work. Maybe just remember the environment and work on reducing rubbish. What about doing away with the water bottles and putting a water dispencer in, as those bottles can be reused and refilled. Make a difference make a change our children depend on it. Our last day was all systems go as good Aussie's do we dug in and helped on the clean up after a distructing wave surge. Hope you haven't experienced anymore and all is good for everyone there in paradise.

Stunning view of the beach from our 1st floor room. Very modern and clean room with all mod cons. Short walk to the beach and a pool bar with happy hours. Good choice of food and plenty of seating.

We keep that from the good of this stay spent at your hotel. I liked the staff and the room was very nice. Location. Staff discretion. Quality of the restoration and massages at the SPA. We find all the qualities that we come to look for.

Superb place and helpful staff. Back to 7 years this was the only hotel in this area (weligama bay). And they have been continue there quality same as past.

Probably one of the best hotels in Weligama, it is my third time in this village and second in this hotel. Rooms are nice and large, Beach area is comfortable and separated from public beach with greens. Staff is helpful and friendly. Main surfing spot is right in front of the hotel. The only major downside is that Marriott is built next to it (they are standing side to side) and it's air vents are too loud. We had to change rooms from main building to bungalow in order to be farther from it and still I had to sleep in ear plugs. Apart from that I would definitely recommend this place — I had the most enjoyable vacations here.

I had a marvelous stay in Weligama at Weligama Bay Resort, Wonderful interiors, very good service and some excellent dining too, must recommend the hotel's Pool Restaurant for the Magarita and bites and some special dishes. Very reasonably priced too for a luxury hotel. My only problem was that the restaurant pool washroom is quiet small and not secured for women.

This place is located by the sea side and has a great sea beach view. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food and drink are good too. Great place for evening dining with pals. :) )

The rooms were spacious, neat & comfortable with a balcony facing the beach. The breakfast provided had a widespread. The beach is shallow so we relaxed and enjoyed viewing the surfers. Staff was friendly.

3.5 stars. Well appointed hotel, but starting to show age. (Wifi in restaurant & lobby only, gaps in window frame allowing mosquitos through). Unspoilt undeveloped beach full of wildlife — hermit crabs and turtles, but the first sky scraper hotel is under construction. Come here soon if you want to see it as nature intended.

Nice view and food but the A/C in the room we stayed totally ruined our stay.
