Friendly staff. Helpful front office. Reasonable varieties of food. Nothing much expect due to the Covid hit for the business. Overall a good hotel.

Had planned to stay in the Coral Sands 16.03.2020 for 26.03.2020, but something went wrong. We arrived at the hotel at about 19:00 on March 16, we were taken to a room on the ground floor with views of the sea, I want to say about this hotel, all rooms overlooking the sea, this is a huge plus! Also all rooms have balconies or chairs and a table or deck, which is also a huge plus. We liked the room, but as he was on the ground floor, the exit was right to the sunbeds and the pool, but we don't like when it is very crowded and asked for a room on the second floor, after 10-15 minutes we were offered another room and he came to us 100%, the devil all the add! We are left to relax in netteboulou situation in the world, but was hoping of course it won't affect us. But 19.03.2020 in Sri Lanka imposed a curfew, all shops and cafes were closed until 23.02.2020, we were terrified. Tour in this hotel we had for Breakfast, and for lunch and dinner you had to pay extra 10 $ per person. We were in shock! But the Motel Manager in connection with this situation provided us lunch and dinner for free and 50% discount on drinks! You can't imagine how much it surprised us! From March 19 to 23 at the hotel was only about 15-20 of the occupied rooms, but the brand he didn't lose, the buffet was varied and very tasty, then we thought 23.03.2020 things will get better but there is no quarantine was extended to 26.03.2020, fed us all well for free! 23.03.

Variations of food in the dining room. Sun beds are a problem, despite notices saying don’t reserve sun beds people do but no one from the hotel manages their rules.

Nice place in Hikkaduwa with beautiful beach view. The buffet wasn't impressive and mediocre. You have to go to the reception area to use the Wi-Fi. There's a nice big balcony facing the beach to chill. Rooms are clean and nice but very less amenities compared to other hotels of same range. The pool is good too. Has the potential to be a good hotel if they could improve the buffet and the room maintenance.

Stayed for 2 weeks and had a most relaxing, wonderfully holiday. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds and an excellent shower in the room. Restaurant was clean and the food was a very good standard. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning next year.

Nice hotel, got upgraded, really nice shack next door, many nice restaurants around the hotel. Lovely view from the room and overall very comfortable. Just in front of the hotel towards the beach is the scuba diving facility. Really a relaxed feel. Breakfast could’ve been better.

We were in this hotel in April! The room was very clean. Our son was thrilled. From the room getting-immediately swim, go further-immediately beach. But it is better to go to the left-there sail huge turtles-they can be touched and fed! The food is delicious, the creeps, the fruit, some of their Delhi Kari-I liked it! The ocean is warm! On a tuk Tuke went and on the market on fruit and in Café "Moon light"! Nothing But be sure to take a good expensive sunscreen, as well as spray-pantenol, so as not to burn!

Good Luxury resort having private beach at Hikkaduwa. They had free high speed Wi-Fi but only at reception and public spaces not in room which in current time must to watch streaming Episodes and sports matches.

Rooms and furnitures are bit old. But overall nice place to visit. Gives astonishing view of sea from deluxe rooms. All deluxe rooms equipped with a private terrace which is very nice to have who loves to relax watching sea and sunbathing. Buffet is average with less varieties.

The stay was gorgeous! The service and food is a solid 4 * because of the small area they probably can't get 4 *. Rooms with stunning views of the ocean, boats, unforgettable sunsets in the Evening. Very helpful at settling Lakshi (like So) He is a big boy, we were with a small child and we were extended a room with no surcharge, put in the best room. He speaks good Russian.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean.
Room on the ground floor with letters XL. Very large (bed cabanas and separate for the child, and with a lot of free space), there is a hair dryer, fridge, flat screen TV.
View of the ocean (more precisely on the sun loungers in front of the ocean). On the terrace of the armchair, coffee table and drying for clothes.

This place was in its awesomeness. Loved the stay here. We gave up our place booked at Bentota to come stay here. Our room was overlooking the beach. The beach beds was close to the room. We could go anytime to lie down there and watch the sky, the waves, the water, the sports and just lie there in the sun. Friendly staff. Good food.

Pros: Very good location, nice view and swimming pool. Nice staff. Cons: It looks like it used to be a beautiful hotel but now looks old and not well preserved. Our room had moldy walls and pieces coming off at the corner. The bathroom didn't look very well cleaned. Although there was a large Breakfast buffet, it was disappointing and the staff was really pushy about paying for it on the spot, we heard other guests complaining about it and asking why couldn't it be at checkout. The room had almost no commodities. Overall feeling: Didn't feel like a good price/quality choice.

Its a good place to the money value. They dont have a big garden. But clean and safe beach area. Very friendly staff. Delicious meals. Two pools. Medium size rooms with big sea faced balconies with chairs and big umbrellas. I really enjoyed the spend.

Nice place to enjoy the beach, the reception staff are not very inviting. The place is awesome, a good view and a kind of private beach. There are lot of options for boating and diving which are available when you get in to the beach. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

A wonderful place. The staff is friendly and helpful. Any question is solved within half an hour (the air conditioner in the room was broken, everything was fixed within 30 minutes). I would recommend this.

Very nice staff. Good food. Clean rooms. Beautiful pools. Sometimes strong gasoline smell from the boats on site. Beach not usable because of boats. But 2 minutes of beautiful beach.

We stayed here for 6 days. I could list all the issues we encountered but I don't have a spare 3 hours to do so. The biggest and most relevant issue for other people to be aware of is this — We were upgraded to a 'free super deluxe room, ' due to issues with checking in (it took 3 hours for them to check us in, problems with housekeeping, finding our key etc) The word free was used multiple times to both myself and my husband. At check out, we had a bill for this room upgrade for US$25 per day. Obviously I disputed this charge and the manager who offered this free room then changed his story to say it was a discount, as the room upgrade was originally $40 per day and he gave it to us at $25 as a special discount. This is a blatant lie and misleading. All the staff were horrendously rude to us during this encounter also. They do not seem to care for customer service and no resolution was offered to us, it was simply 'pay up. ' I'd be very cautious booking this hotel for you and your family. To end on a positive (for which there were few) the location was good and the pool was nice.

The food there is great and so is the pool plus the rooms. The service was great and also was the ocean view. A memorable and enjoyable place for all family and friends to spend a day or two.

Stayed back in 2013, great atmosphere and service. Food was really good, and beach access meant long walks were much easier to take. Highly recommend to stay there.

A very good hotel which is right on the beachside, serves excellent breakfast and dinner. The property is pretty well maintained with two swimming pools and good rooms with Sea view. Hotel staffs are very well mannered.

The beach at the hotel is not at all, very narrow strip of sand fits directly to the hotel, during the tide it is generally under water. There is a lot of motor boats in front of the hotel, they are worth 24 hours. Corals on the right and left are killed Gray, water is muddy, the fish is very small.
During the stay celebrated birthday, neither the administration or staff did not congratulate even in words. When I told them about it, two came with one cake and stood over the soul until we gave them tea.
Every day in the room put a half-liter bottle of water per person. We were a few days on a tour of the center of the island and I asked for these days water to put in the fridge. No one did that, though they promised. Demanded the laid water, began to pretend that do not understand, brought the fourth time when the fight.
The room was very clean and spacious. The lamps were not all included, the air conditioning blew directly onto the bed, the balcony which was to be exclusively ours turned out to be a walkway.
Moved to Super Deluxe. Located on the third floor, downstairs view of the balcony of those who live on the second floor (men in panties, etc. ), behind the balcony you can see the roof of the bar, and already behind it the parking of boats. Officially relocation was free, but unofficially the staff extorted money, like in gratitude. The air conditioning was traditionally hung exactly opposite the bed and blew right on it.

Decent Cesar. The work of the Russian-speaking friend at the reception is simply amazing! Walk lizards on the territory (rarely, quietly and do not touch you, opposite the restaurant), next to free you can see turtles.

The family arrived 2 adults 2 children. December 29, 2016g. The room was very clean. Although it was all paid for. There is no beach. The hotel has a lot of boats parked. From which when from the sea the wind stinks Saljarkoj. The owner of the hotel donated the beach for the work of the parking lot for boats. The hotel is old. A dirty condo is unclear when it was last cleaned. Walls are visible completely not repaint, and tint a dull brush. The pool floor slippery baby fell scratched. I almost fell a couple of times myself. No hot water in the evening. Towels constantly put a place 4 only 3 and after reminders bring additional. In the morning the breakfast is not enough cups, glasses have to kick the staff to bring. The fruit is small and they end. Because it is a new year and in Russia rest did not get to get from the operator Anex tour of what would have moved us to the room we paid. The hotel staff says there are no rooms, but the better rooms are available. I. E. The staff is lying. I can't say anything about dinner and lunch. And I didn't want to pay them anything else. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff is very nice. The location is between the beach and the main road, so if you are a light sleeper in the 'old' wing — you might be disturbed by vehicle noise. Has 2 outdoor pools. We stayed for 100$ for a triple room with breakfast, then upgraded to 110$ for half-board. The room was very large and had a small fridge. There is a small private terrace and many common ones. The Wi-Fi 'exists' only in the lobby and the restaurant, but in reality almost never works. The 'local' city center is a short walk north. Most of the touristy things are to the south.

Beautiful place. The pools are great. Easy access to the beach. The food options are limited and expensive. The hotel has a spa. Very relaxing and laid back atmosphere.

The beach is not at all! have to go for 500 to 700 meters! me too! the food is not for the Slavs! there is no comparison nor sindia, Thailand, Vietnam!, take the money do nothing! no service! want to relax go elsewhere.

Clean rooms, but no TV or toiletries were availabe. Friendly staff. Food was good, bit more variety would have been nice. Pool showers were not working and the pool attendants had no idea what's wrong. Access to clean beautiful beach. Overall good place to spend time with friends or family.

Good hotel located between the road and the beach.

Stayed here for 2 days. Great view and friendly staff. Expecting a 4star hotel though as advertised on Agoda we realized that Coral Sands heavily differentiates between the room types. We had a standard room and even the hallway of the standard rooms was below that of the superior rooms. Our standard room was a good 3 star room, but not 4 star. Surprisingly there was not even a safe in the room and they make you pay for using the safe downstairs. All that aside, if Coral Sands should fix one thing it should be the Internet: No internet in the rooms and poor connection even in the lobby. Upgrading that would make every future guest enjoy their stay even more.

Stayed two days on a full board basis. Courteous staff and food was good but more variety would have been good. Overall we enjoyed the stay however on the day of departure we were asked to vacate the room at 12.00 even though are stay was inclusive of lunch which was from 12.30 to 2.30pm. The management accommodated us only after we complained.

A relatively westernised hotel with nice views over the sea, the swimming pool is really nice with lovely views! The food is ok, but very expensive compared to other places in the area.

The hotel physically beautiful!, but better to eat in restaurants cheaper and tastier.
