Very poor service & facilities. Also the food wasn't good. Never recommend this place for anyone.

Me and our office colleagues were there yesterday for a day out. Per person charge was 2800/ — From the beginning the customer service and the welcome they provided was amazing 😂 *We had to ask few times where is the welcome drink they took more than one hour to provide it after our complaints. *We were 40 pack, considering about the lunch and dessert it was nearly enough for 20 people Most of our colleagues had to satisfy with only one or two dishes due to food shortages. We have been provided with two tubs of 2liter ice cream *For 40 pack Fruit salad, It was well prepared by using few bananas and Most probably one papaya *For 40 Pack *Service Guys They are the kings of that hotel. We had to follow self service 😂 *Swimming pool Not cleared and we had to beg them to clear it before we use it. So these all happened not because of our delay or any issue we were well planned and discussed with the management and they have been agreed to satisfy our team by proving all facilities. So please think before you select this place. *****Highly disappointed.

Very poor unofficial customer service. They ruined my sister's wedding day and doesn't have enough staff. If some one wants to have a bad experiences on their special day can recommend this restaurant.

Not recommended at all. This place does not value customer satisfaction and so called manager cannot arrange even buffet properly. Provided a different menu than the ordered one with dirty plates. Skipped serving Ice-coffee even though it has been paid already. Place is not cleaned enough for events and they did not even bother to wash windows. do not choose this place and spoil your event!

Poor service 😖 we went for office get together. They don’t serve bites and welcome drink properly 😣 foods r not tasty and they don’t provide enough tea cups for evening coffee. And we ask but they didn’t care 😖😖 they provide one changing room but it couldn’t be locked. 😣 not recommended this hotel👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 don’t waste your money.

Excellent place, but the service is really poor, we spent more than 800k for our family wedding, when it's come to the wedding day food not that testy food served only for one and half our only, no one takening the responsibility, when you paying the advance or full payment they give you dream world promises, really bad service, don't take this hotel to your any party☹️☹️☹️

Attractive location, but very poor service… Think twice before select this place for your special events.

For those who are looking for celebrating their big day at Thotupola. Please do not go to this miserable place. This is based on my personal experience with the so called management of this hotel. No one is responsible for your event after they take the advance payment for the reservation.
I initially booked this hotel for my wedding. However due to change of plans, I cancelled the particular booking with them
Having understood that whatever the advances paid are non refundable, I asked for suggestions to utilise the said amount from our contact person called Nalin who was an employee (who we believed a formal representative of the hotel). Then, during our discussion, he agreed with me to provide a take away lunch plus to give our the hotel premises for a photoshoot. Having agreed with the offer, I asked for an email confirmation from him. However, his respknse to my continuous requests for a confirmation email was a nightmare. However, when I called him repeatedly, he said that it's all set and not to worry.
2 weeks down the line, I called the hotel again to get my booking reaffirmed for the take away lunch and photoshoot confirmed since I did not get any call from them upto then. Shockingly, I got to know that the entire management has resigned and the very 1st response we got from the person we contacted called Ramya was that they're not in a position to do that due to a staff fallout.

Recently we called them to get some details over the phone. The girl who picked up the phone was not friendly at all and she acted like we were disturbing to her. So we gave up our plans with this place and shifted to another.

Im a regular customer for your place. Actually the staff is really helpful. But the girl who pick the phone is really mad call me or text me if need more information.

We have been to this place just after our wedding. The surrounding was perfect. But the condition of the room was terrible and the food was awful. They gave us microwaved food for sure. Their menue had lot of things mentioned. Yet, when we asked for something, they say no. We had to wait for ages for food to be delivered. Very poor service. We do not recommend this place for anyone for a stay in. If they can improve standards, the environment is perfect calm and quiet.

Nice Location. But there food is not good. Very boring selections. Have been here few times. Even for weddings the food is not great for the money the couple spends. They need new chefs and provide a good range of food. Price is expensive and lacking value for money.

The best memory of my life was created at thotupola lake side piliyandala. Anyway very best experience adventure and BBQ with lunch today this place. The best memory of my life was created at Thotupola lake side. The staff were extremely helpful. Would like to thank and all staff for their very attentive service. They arranged the buffet table in a special location as per our request. I would specially like to thank Chef Nalin who was very kind and generous. He really made our life easy and comfortable for the entire event. The service and food was so great.

Not Recommended for wedding. Staff is neither properly trained nor friendly. The wedding Hall has high Steps which might cause some serious injuries. Food is average.

Actually I don't know what was happened in there for other functions. But it was the greatest day in Thotupola Lakeside for my best friend's wedding held by 26th June 2017. This is the time to thank all the staff for giving their maximum to success their big day and treat more than 450 guests, and specially should thank to Mr. Rathnayake and Mr. Nalin for their friendly service. We also planned the indoor decorations and outdoor Poruwa ceremony as well. This is the ideal location to celebrate your any kind of ceremonies and spend the day with your besties.

This is one of the worst hotels I've seen in my life. They ruined each and everything about our big day. Never choose this place for a wedding. I have no idea about their other adventure programmes and all. But for weddings this is the worst place. Our dream was to have an outdoor function. This environment was ideal for that. That's why we decided to choose this place even without thinking the bad reviews in the page. It was the biggest mistake we had done here.
They had not cleaned the garden until we reach the hotel. Garden was a big mess. No name board We asked guava juice as the welcome drink but sunquick was served Only 3 unexperienced waiters were there to serve the crowd of 200. So the guests had to serve the crowd running here and there. The buffet was a mess. Some dishes were bad smelling and we had to ask them to throw them out. Most of our guests had not eaten desserts as they were not looking good. Can type more mistakes but it's just wasting time. In short they ruined all our efforts. Even if we made a complaint nothing happened. We just lost our day.

Nice location and some parts are still under construction, the staff is not that pleaent and takes long time to respond. Food is good as the severs for functions.

Not bad hotel. But they should improve their service a lot! went to book a hall for a event took nearly 3 hours n manager was bit rude.

Worst ever hotel I have been. My best friend had his wedding on the 4th August 2016.
1. The 2 toilets were out of order. And guests had to go to some other toilet situated somewhere outside in the dark. 2. When guest wanted water and asked for it waiter said water will only be served after the buffet is opened and if u need water u have to go out side the all and get water from their water dispenser. 3. It's like a microwave inside the hall. The A/C is not working properly. 4. Guest had to ask 3 or 4 times for some water even after the buffet was started. 5. Worst ever General Manager in the whole world. No brains. Stupid. No commen sense… lier. 6. Wedding started at 6pm and till 10pm the hall could not provide a solution for a damage on musical equipments caused by the hotel and there for no music till 10p. M. 7. Food tasted shit. There was a pudding tasted like coconut oil. Even a petti kade food tastes better this for all the ppl out there. Don't ever consider taking any of ur events here. Worst ever experience.

We had a function with our friends to celebrate our wedding in 2016. The management would come to you with a smiling face but it takes a couple of meetings to realize how cunning they are. It was too late for us by then. Ended up paying a lot more than initially agreed up on. Had terrible food. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

There is no road direction at any of the important junctions to this place. One has to ask for directions from people on the road frequently. Even then, it takes a long time to reach there.

Location is very attractive but the food and services are still in average levels, more opportunities available for improvement.

Worst place I have ever been. No AC in rooms. U cant order anything in the menu coz they dont have it even after booking the place 1 month in advance. Poor service. If you need glass of water in the evening please order it in the morning coz they take hours. NO non veg dishes except for fish. Served cracked glasses. And when complained to the management they say sorry. And they even like to say sorry in person.
