They are unable to keep the record of booking. I made a reservation in advance for high tea very recently and when I check before leaving from home to high tea they said no reservation made by me. What a funny management team they have. I never recommend anyone to choose this particular hotel for any buffet. I am very sorry.

Referring my recent experience for dinner buffet. Not upto the standard. Don't think its worth for the cost. Hope Movenpick management will look into upgrading and maintaining its standard if they say so. Food spread was smaller and having unnecessary wine corner taken too much space in the buffet area. Only the pork corner was OK. BTW washroom hygiene is very bad yuk. Think twice before you go. Unsatisfied experience ever.

Was there last night for the buffet. Huge varieties of sea food were there and all of them were delicious. Not to forget their soups as well. But the desert could have been bit more interesting. Overall experience was decent. ❤️

Tried the international dinner buffet on Sunday for 5500/ — per head and it was an utter disappointment. There was a very limited selection with very few meat dishes. Both soups were vegetarian, and very limited seafood (only 1 fried fish dish — no prawns, cuttlefish etc). The amount paid for the meal was an utter waste. The dessert selection had better options and we ended up finishing the salads, soups and mains in no time, still hungry. Please up your game, specially if you're going to charge so high.

I was there last weekend. That buffet has no value. Service was poor. This is the worst buffet I have ever had.

This is my first visit and I am happy with their friendly service and delicious foods.

I participated wedding today at monte blank banquet hall. I want to mention that hotel provides great friendly service, specially from Sangeeth.

Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff are supper friendly specially DAYANGA and food is delicious. I love that you get lot of food as well for the price. It is not like other expensive restaurants and Movenpick only get a small amount of food.

Terrible hotel. Do not spend your money here. Rude management, bad serivce. Hotel and guests do not follow basic Covid policy or security. This was my first time to ever try Movenpick but NEVER AGAIN!

Really disappointed Service from Movenpick Colombo. We have ordered 80 No's lunch from hotel. But they were failed to deliver the lunch at the time. All were waited more than 1.5 Hrs really bad customer Services.

Had Christmas lunch here this year, it was by the far the best most delicious buffet I’ve experienced in my 50 odd years. The staff were attentive and polite and the food selection incredible, all for approximately $50 Australian, couldn’t fault it!

I ordered a red velvet cake and it was just divine 😍 the gourmet team was very friendly and supportive throughout ❤️ thank you for your service. I highly reccomend this place.

My parents had ordered 2 portions of yellow rice (fish) costing Rs. 550/ — each and when they opened the packs to eat, there were no curries and just plain yellow rice! And when it was complained to them, they simply said that’s how the order was placed! 🤬 should go out of business for conning customers like that!

Bad service. Starters took ages to arrive, mains took even longer. Taste wasn't great at all either. We ordered 3 kinds of sushi, hbc & phad thai. Sushi was average. Barely any music, loud waiters, no better than a roadside boutique, screaming orders at each other. Unfriendly staff. So disappointed we picked this place for our anniversary dinner, it was effectively ruined.

It is such a nice place for a get away with your loved ones! Helpful and friendly staff I would say.

Cockroaches and horrible customer service!
Being an international chain Hotel it is the worst customer service and procedures you can ever have. February 2020 1st issue — while having an over prised mediocre meal we had cockroaches in the dinning area and running on the tepanayaki table while we were eating. I caught a cockroach into the drinking water glass for proof (photos and videos available). When I asked for the resturant manager he was not present neither was the hotel manager. Then the assistant manager showed up and had no idea what to say. He offered us a 10% discount on our bill. We were insulted by that then offered us a 20% discount. As leaving the restaurant there was a promotion for a 20% discount anyway.
We didn't call consumer authority or the PHI as it was an inconvenience to wait for them.
2nd issue was my client and friend (Hong-Kong citizen) was staying there for 10 days. He requested an official movenpick car for an airport pickup instead he was received by a cheap damaged cab company car. When he asked why they didn't send an official car, the response was "We didn't think you could afford Rs. 6000 for the official Audi car" what an insult for someone staying there". This was also confirmed by the GM later on for giving a cheaper option.

Had a very warm welcoming staff from the door to the entry of the Robata Grill restaurent we dined in. Special mention on the staff at Robata Grill. They did an excellent job attending to our needs. Had a very good experience with food and beverages too.

Atmosphere is superb but the mojito I had was the worst mojito I've ever had in my life.

The GM, HR and management teams for all the venues are very accommodating. Thankyou so much for making me feel welcomed, even tho I do not work for your team, I feel like that I am a part of it.

One of the worst experience had at Ayu restaurant!

Staff are very accomodating. Requested food out of their menu and they cooked it specially for me. Rooms are trendy, very comfortable and quiet. Location is a plus as it's just beside the Liberty Plaza mall, a few steps away. ✌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Exclusive Personal Accountability showed on each worker when I stepped into the Hotel premises Brilliant security protocols made my family dinner perfect. We went for AYU for the International Buffet and expected bit more variety on the cuisines for a 5 star hotel. Especially on the salads and starters. Loved the meats and they grilled a perfect medium Steak which made my eve perfecto! Overall service was brilliant.

Room was really good. Very comfertable hotel. Good foods and friendly staff.

Had an amazing dinner with my wife and kids on our wedding Anniversary on 20th July 2019. Excellent food, very friendly staff and a Danusha Manager Restaurant was a star who handled his guests very professionally. Well done Keep it up.

I stayed at your hotel in Room 807 from 4-6 Sept. Here is my feedback — Large size of room and washroom, comfortable bed etc — Good variety of food at breakfast, though I was disappointed there were no pancakes or waffles. — Breakfast restaurant, the food is too spread out. The breads are in one corner, fruit and cereal in the middle and the hot food in another corner. Everytime you need to get food, you have to move from one end of the restaurant to the other. Ideally, everything should be laid out in one section, changing the layout will surely help. — The AC temperature control was not working very well in the room — The shower section is supposed to have a sliding door to close when you are bathing. This door was missing and the water was going outside. I mentioned this to the reception but I was told that there was some problem and all the doors had been removed. Strange! — Staff were well trained, and courteous, all good here.

Place was fabulous. The hotel staff was warm and friendly, the gym and spa facilities were fantastic. The room service was a bit lesser than expected but we only ordered two dishes so it could have been the luck of the draw. We would definitely return.

Overall the experience was nice. But, I think, the hotel authority could rethink about the dollar exchange policy. Because, when I was in need of exchanging dollar, the reception people humbly rejected me as the hotel has the policy of not receiving any dollar that has stapler mark on it. I had to roam around the city to get a money exchange center on the Sunday evening. But I failed to get one as everything was closed at that time, and then a total stranger at a shop came to my aid. Other then this, everything was nice and the waiter in the restaurant named Steve was extraordinarily kind. Thanks.

The room is spacious and clean. The ocean view is wonderful. The breakfast provides ample options and the in-room dining is affordable. The infinity pool is not heated which makes it difficult to enjoy. The concierge desk helped us plan for tours but lost our airport taxi reservation. Overall, the hotel is good but not a great value for money.

Nice, Clean and spacious room. The view from the room towards the sea was simply awesome. Excellent breakfast with different options. They are prompt in service and all the staffs are very much responsive. Had a great experience at Movenpick. A perfect place for a business traveler like me.

I found everyone extremely genuine, thoughtful and helpful. For example, one morning, at breakfast, I was not feeling well and was in need of coconut water. It was finished. George, a staff member immediately fetched me a glass and checked with me the next morning how was I! Amazing service! The daily selection of local cuisine was extraordinary. Thanks for an amazing introduction to Sri Lanka. I’ll be back.

Checked in today 21st of July at 11 am and it’s 4 pm now and the Air Con has not been working. It’s July in Colombo Sri Lanka and it’s hot and humid. Called engineering who came replaced the filter and said it would cool down. 1 hour later reception tells it was a AC cooler in the building that had to be reset and in 5 mins the air would work. 1 more extra hour later when I called engineering tells me that the air con will kick in 20 mins. 40 mins later still no Air. Called the reception again from reception that it will take another 30 mins. Checking in again for two more days at this hotel next week as per my booking and I am hoping for a better experience with basic comforts atleast like a working air con. They need a Air con system that’s built for residencies. I can only imagine the nightmare it would be if a family with a toddler was caught up in this. It’s 28 degrees in the room and it’s absolute torture. How can a 5 star hotel have their air con go down without having a backup. Either the staff doesn’t know how to fix it or… either way a horrible stay. The engineering team at this hotel needs to do way better.

One of the best hotels. Great food and service by the banquet and restaurant teams. We had a customer program recently. The teams helped in every way to get our expected arrangements to be completed. The audio and video arrangements in hall were great. The food taste was excellent. The spread was great. Must try for a business lunch with your customers.

What a sensational stay. I was upgraded to a suite and I can honestly say it's was one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in (I've stayed in a lot of rooms! ). Breakfast was superb. Executive Club level could have a little more choice but was still nonetheless great. Staff were incredible — helpful and friendly.

We stayed for our last night of our honeymoon and booked the executive suite. The room was extremely spacious and well appointed with great facilities and a good view of the city. We were delighted to receive a complimentary tray of fruit, wine and chocolates not long after arriving. The executive lounge which served complimentary drinks was also serving the most exquisite tasting canapes in a lovely relaxing environment. We were also given a late check out at no extra cost which definitely added to the 5 star experience. The only thing that we were disappointed with is that we weren't staying for longer!

Hotel location is good, breakfast first-class, belong to the Asians can love to eat the kind, very rich! But the hotel's other restaurants are more expensive, but the quality of the dishes is good.

This is based on the Ayu restaurant. I visited with my family for the lunch buffet like 2 months ago and we were very satisfied with the service and the food. Back then the food was definitely delicious. So I came back again with my better-half last week for the dinner buffet and everything has changed. There wasn't much of a variety and the food quality has dropped. The waiters are not even keen on refilling the dishes. I hope you would look in to this matter in-order to sustain a five star hotel standard.

Overall great view ove the city and especially after sunset. The music is matched with the vibe. Prices are in an affordable range regarding the expected class of the hotel.
Still not a 5 star experience as the staff was friendly but almost annoying with permanent questions. The drinks were good. Further I had a huge pit of water on the table because of the cold drinks. If small hotels and restaurants manage to prevent this from happening, I would expect „Mövenpick“ to be capable of that aswell. The menu was simple paper whic was laminated although half of the plastic was peeling of and the paper was smelling very unpleasant. When asking for the bill I was told the price by the staff, after ten minutes of waiting for a bill I was called over by a staffmember to a small door that looked like a store room where I had to pay a bill which was shown to me on a computer screen.
Again I was expecting atleast a bill being brought to the table as usual.
All in all still a good experience!

This review is based on a two night stay use of the AYU restaurant (breakfast and dinner buffet) and the spa. 2 adults 2 children (1 infant) Modern hotel, light and airy great atmosphere and ambience. The staff were friendly, polite and obliging (responded to requests quickly) both in the restaurant and the reception. Spa was excellent left us feeling rejuvenated. We didn't use the gym or swimming pool, however they appeared high quality and we'll equipped. Food quality and variety at the buffet was excellent. While we only used the buffet at the AYU the Mansion looked high quality. Overall felt like excellent value for money. Slight issues — spa and swimming pool could offer longer hours — but not enough to bring down the rating.

An absolute dream. This is the best place to stay in Colombo. The staff are genuine and friendly. The hotel is spotless. The rooms are beyond comfortable. The rooftop pool and restaurant are beautiful and they have great food and drink at all their restaurants. Stunning views of the city and sea. The spa was top notch. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know coming to Colombo.
