We had our company anniversary celebration at Breez Bar two weeks ago. Very nice place to have some really good food, it's value for money and the food tastes so good. Very nice Echo Italian restaurant good food but sadly bad service slow and no attention to detail. Serving courses with no cutlery etc. Very disappointing not so cheap food!

I am from the Texas and been in Sri Lanka less than a month. I have been to the cafe here thrice now. Their cappuccinos and lattes have been consistently the best. I used to love to go to Coffee Stop before I moved 10 years ago. This year on our annual summer visit, I took my kids for chocolates and ice cream to Coffee Stop after lunch at Cheers pub. Stood patiently in line to be served, only for the manager behind the cash register to attend to someone else just as it was my turn. This would have surprised me but it was more like Deja vu. Exactly a year ago I was there standing in line for a coffee when the same manager did the exact same thing! Is it just me or is there no such thing as a ‘line’ at the Cinnamon Grand? For a hotel of this caliber I am truly disappointed. As I did last year, I turned around and walked off without placing my order. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice … wouldn’t recommend the service at this hotel to anyone.

I will review only the Restaurants of the hotel as I haven’t experienced a stay at this place. One of the best place to hangout, take your loved ones, friends or business colleagues for a meal. Best food for reasonable prices in a 5 star hotel. Have a variety of restaurants to select. My personal favorites are Noodles restaurants and the Coffee stop.

We went for a dinner at Nugagama at Cinnamon Grand last week. We altogether were 13 people. It was actually a buffet in the open air under some Banyan trees. It was a great experience. All the food were Sinhala traditional foods. Hot hot Egg Hoppers was my favorite. Mutton and Pork were tasty. Fish head was delicious. Desert was good. Actually I missed out the Kiri Pani. Kalu Dodhal and Caramel Pudding were great. Fruit salad was also good with variety of fruits. It would have been great if sufficient dishes were kept. Little quantity was kept there for each dish. Foodies would love to have more. Some waiters were too friendly and overly servicing more than what we expected. In a Buffet system it was actually infringed our freedom. Overall it was worth for the money and want to come back again.

This is a place I go to regularly. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Service is good. They have around 8 different restaurants, serving a variety of cuisines. I find them to be very consistent in service (except on a couple of rare occasions) and food quality. Located in the centre of Colombo, it is quite a happening place. Would definitely recommend it.

Visited Breeze Bar at Cinnamon grand and the ambiance is amazing. When we enter we didn’t know that they have a happy hour and the waiter inform us that the happy hour is going on so suggest us to order from happy hour menu. Cocktail and food is amazing. Fresh and smells really good. Since the restaurant is in the pool area the breeze is amazing during the night. Restaurant is with limited seating so if you are a person who is looking for place with less crowd this is the ideal. Pricing is fair than I thought. Final conclusion: staff is friendly including the manager. The way they greet us makes us to visit again. Price is good. They served quickly and fresh. They have happy hours on weekends and offers of weekdays.

The hotel is next to the famous mall crescat. The hall that could be used for occasions is considerably large. The good even if requested for fully vegetarian course. The dessert were little less during fully vegetarian course. The atrium is an amazing place to hold some of the occasions. It is very vast volume and the design surrounding it would give a nice feel to the occasion.

Went to Tao last Saturday 16th June it was really good. It was a surprise to us because we thought it was fusion food but it did not matter. Waiters were really kind and attentive. All in all great service.

Calm and cosy atmosphere to spend your time with nice live music. They have got really tasty varieties of cakes. You should have try Mars cheese cake there.

The most reputed name in hotel business, Cinnamon Grand is the place that checks all boxes: great good, great venue, great service. Another highlight is Coffee Stop. The one 'stop' for the softest of cakes and the best hot chocolate. The lounge musicians fill the lobby with some of the best tunes to uplift the mood. Hope the standard keeps up for years to come.

Went to the noodles restaurant. Food was extremely cheap given it's a five star hotel. The portion sizes were pretty decent. The staff were helpful when deciding what to order and were very hospitable. The hotel lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Loved it.

This hotel has managed to maintain and even enhance its standard over a very long period of time. The coffee shop is one of the best in Colombo. The restaurants are fantastic with the lagoon and taprobane being standouts. If you are in the mood for a drink, do try the Cheers Sports pub or the Breeze bar. The rooms are luxurious and cozy.

Good size rooms with bathroom and since I was on the ground floor, I had a good view of the garden too. Bed is comfortable and bathroom is clean. There is quite a number of restaurants to choose from and you won't be bored with the variety. I'd recommend eating at Tao (good portion and good quality) but not at the Lagoon (they overcooked the fish). They The toiletries of of sub-par quality though and not what I'd expect from a five start hotel. Check-in and check-out are relatively quick. The good news is all Ubers drivers know it and it's easy to get Uber rides quickly.

Nice place, loads of good restaurants and nice pool side chill area. But the music by the poolside is very old and dreary. Needs to be updated at least a bit so there’s a mix of genres and styles.

Honestly not what I would have expected from a 5-star establishment. 3-star standards at best when it comes to in room amenities. Whatever you do don’t book the Deluxe room, the walls are paper thing and unless you need to have a split door for kids it’s just terrible. Also has a shower in bath arrangement. The Premium rooms cost the same when staying more than three nights and offer a proper shower and much better noise insulation. Overall there is just a lack of detail expected from a 5-Star hotel. Shower door doesn’t close properly. Toilets smell. The main hotel areas are nice and the restaurants are amazing. But rather stay elsewhere and come visit.

I have no words to describe! its just too perfect! I had a great time! such a perfect place for a great dinner outing with my family! its really grand! loved every moment I spent here.

Typically of a large hotel, the rooms are somewhat uninspired, but nevertheless smart and well appointed. Yes, some of their dress policies are a little archaic, but it's not much of a stretch for dudes to wear a shirt and a jacket to dinner (which I hear is a common complaint). Definitely spend a little more and book something on the executive floor — the afternoon tea alone is worth it.

Outstanding stay. Beautiful facility with top notch staff. Special thanks to front desk specialist Indika who has the amazing ability to resolve both issues and requests in such an efficiant and gracious manner. This is an ongoing relationship with this hotel starting in 1982 when it was an Oberoi property. It has only gotten better with age.

The Hotel is very nice in appearance. However, this is on the beach in a hot tropical environment, an environment where when one is vacationing they wish to relax. This hotel is attempting to play off a 5-Star Grand Hotel. Extremely snobbish and they treat you like an unwashed rube if you are not wearing a Rolex and designer clothing. We attempted to have lunch at one of the restaurants, that certainly was not Five star and they would not let us — their customers — enter the restaurants without suit and tie. Thus causing us to seek our meals outside and loosing the convenience we were expecting. We complained to the manager, who rather than attempting to accommodate us with any compromise, and treated us like scum, called security! Suddenly, their security agents were searching us out. We left and returned late to avoid them in the evening and left the next morning. After traveling south and staying at a guest house, my partner and I noticed numerous red bites on our feet and ankles before retiring that day. BED BUGS! This place has bed bugs. They misrepresent themselves online and I would advise anyone to avoid this hotel and Colombo, for that matter, and immediately head south where you will find Sri Lanka to be a wonderful place. If I had stayed in Colombo I would have returned hating that country.

The worst experience in a hotel in our entire life, I thought it would be nice to splurge a bit and stay in a Luxury Hotel, little did we know what we were getting into. An absolute snob festival. Being on vacation we didn't bring formal clothes, you are expected to be dressed in a suit and tie and formal wear at dinner, many of the restaurants will refuse you service. No other decent restaurants in the area, we were eaten alive by Bed Bugs in the beds. When we complained they threatened to call security on us. They seem to embrace policies from the 1920's, if you want a nice Vacation definitely do not stay at this cold, nasty hotel, the layout is a convoluted maze and nightmare to navigate on top of it, you need a map to figure this place out. Far better renting a guest house for the money. Food was terrible, staff should be thrown in jail.

Terrible, terrible service. Last visited in 2012 and standards seem to have taken a serious nosedive. Bar service was very poor, and cocktails were definitely lacklustre. Food quality is still very good in their seafood restaurant, but is ruined by atrocious service, which is unfriendly and utterly unhelpful, despite there being large numbers of staff around. A limited grasp of customer service and a certain degree of staff standing around/socialising with each other/avoiding eye contact with customers is something I've grown to expect in Sri Lanka, but this took the absolute biscuit. With their service outclassed even by many of Colombo's cheap, no-frills, basic eateries, it's disappointing to see Cinnamon doing so well.

Nice hotel, great. Near many restaurants (300 — 350) meters. Then at the hotel a shopping centre with fast food and supermarket, by the standards of Sri Lankan big.
