AC Hotel Murcia by Marriott

Good location about a mile outside the city centre. Parking at the Hotel. EV Chargers out front. Big Carrefoure next door. Tram stop outside, 3 stops to entrance to the City Centre pedestrian zone. Clean, comfortable good sized room. Friendly and helpful check in. Big hot shower. Didn't eat in the hotel.

I have done business trip almost every month, and I am already the Premium at the other group of hotel.
Firstly, when I checked in last Friday evening in AC hotel Marriott Murcia, I was fully welcomed by Mr. Jorge, he's so professional and explained me how does it work for the hotel, where to visit in the Murcia city and how to get to the city centre by Tram & Bus etc. Although the room is w/o kettle to make tea, I had asked Mr. Jorge, he was so helpful to provide me with the kettle and slipper without any hesitation with a kind smile and which let me feel so warm welcome in this hotel.

Room — top, is very quiet to sleep.
Bathroom is very big and head shower is very new, you can adjust small-medium-big shower, you can enjoy the best shower.
I'd highly recommend this hotel and the best service to Mr. Jorge.

Not a good experience. The room smelled funny and stuffy when we came in. One elevator didn't work when we checked in. Then on the second night we were there, we had an annoying experience with the male receptionist. He was rude and unfriendly accusing us of smoking as he said housekeeping complained about smelling smoke from or in our room. We always kept a "do not disturb" sign on our room door and never asked for housekeeping. So his accusations were very rude even when we kept telling him we don't smoke.
We also were rarely in our room except in the morning and when we get home later at night. This "smoking incident" apparently happened when we weren't in our room and at first we thought there was smoke (fire) coming from our room when we were asked about smoke coming from our room but nope, it was about cigarettes which we do not have. He said he tried calling our room but said "YOU disconnected the line" which is ridiculous because we never touched the phone since being there. He said he couldn't reach us but didn't bother coming up to the floor and to our room to check for himself if he couldn't reach us?
When my partner and I went back to the room, we didn't smell any smoke in there and checked the phone line which was perfectly fine.
This was very annoying and he just told us that we should know the policy not to smoke in our room. 😠

Located almost in front of the tram line, the hotel offers very good access to the town centre while the tram is running (note: the tram stops before midnight, so it's not ideal for night life). There's also a bus line nearby. A supermarket is just one block away, and both KFC and Burger King are close, along with other restaurants. Breakfast is good, and the staff is very helpful. The rooms are good, but the heating and thermostat system can be hard to understand. Overall, it offers a good price-quality ratio.

This is the worst AC Hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It is not a “4” star hotel it’s a 2 star hotel. Room had been smoked in, thermostat didn’t work, turns out they just have central cooling/heat for the whole hotel. Rooms are due for a refresh. Service was good and the employees were well trained, but the condition of the hotel is rough. This hotel is not in an ideal location if you want night life. The area is a business and university district and is very family oriented. It’s safe but pretty boring if you don’t have a purpose to be in the area.

We recently booked multiple rooms at the hotel for our staff attending the Graduation Ceremony in Murcia. Due to various last-minute changes and adjustments, there were some complications with the bookings. However, the hotel staff went above and beyond to assist us. They handled every concern with professionalism and kindness, making the entire process seamless despite the last-minute nature of the changes on our part. A special thanks to Carmen Marín, Ana Carrasco, and Lues for their exceptional support. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Stayed here early October. Greeted at check in by Luis who gave us information about the areas to visit in Murcia. Greatly appreciated the upgrade being a Marriott platinum member. Hotel is about a 35 minute walk to the old town so took the tram which was 1.40 euros and stops outside the hotel. Came by car and big plus is secure underground parking. If we return to Murcia then would certainly come back to this hotel.

We checked into a hot room. The air conditioning didn’t work so we had to change rooms, after unpacking. It was one of those rooms that needed a keycard to start the air conditioning so we didn’t realize it wasn’t working well until 5 minutes later.
We got a new room and was given a free non-alcoholic drink as a make good.
The 12E breakfast was fine and the staff all professional.
The hotel is a bit removed from the centro so get used to taking the tram (easy to do but get your ticket before as they will fine you! )
Our room was also designed oddly with a shower box in the middle of the room.

The hotel is easy to find with free parking right outside, and a tram stop close by.
On check in we were given incorrect information re the tram usage and tickets nearly cost us a fine, from a ticket inspector.
Reception told us we could pay on the tram — its not possible!
The room was a bit dated and dark with poor lighting.
Cramped for anything more than a small bag, and no space to move!
The bathroom had a shower over the bath which ran hot / cold unexpectedly.
The bath plug leaked and didn't hold sufficient water…!
We didn't take breakfast because we thought it over priced and were leaving for the airport anyway.
It was ok for a stopover to visit the centre and the Easter parades, but wouldn't go out of my way for this.

The check was ok, but more on that later.
The room was dark and the lighting inadequate, one bedside light didn't work.
Insufficient sockets to power all devices.
Internet was poor, kept dropping out, and if it had been a business stay would have been hugely inconvenient/ expensive to remedy.
The bed whilst comfortable was quite firm, there wasn't any pillow choice or any robes and slippers.
It all felt a bit basic and dreary, fortunately we had plans and went straight out after dropping our bags.
The bathroom was a bit dated although clean.
Hot water was ok and towels adequate. Toiletries were basic and ok.
The room had been set up it seemed for one guest with just one complimentary bottle of water.
We didn't have breakfast it seemed overpriced when offered at check in.
Back to the check in information which almost caused us a fine on the tram.
We were informed that to use the tram you can pay either with cash or card on the tram and we particularly clarified this with the receptionist.
So with this in mind we went to the already busy tram stop and got on.
No problem although the tram driver didn't take the fare and just waved at us.
On the return trip not the same, a ticket inspector moved down the tram in our direction and so we had our fare ready.
Much to our shock and disbelief we weren't able to buy a ticket its not allowed rather we were about to be fined 50Euros each for not prepurchashing our tickets!

My room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was ok but I think I will opt out next time. It was 11.55€ per day. Parking was quite high too at 16€ a night.

I find it a super hotel, clean, pool, gym, friendliness, the friendliness of the amazing waitress, we are in the junior suite spacious bed, comfortable pillows and the bed rests great everything very clean. I recommend 100x100

Has possibly the worst service in the world. Never again.
