Review of Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza 5*

I'm a long term visitor to Ibiza and the island is awesome — love it. Having heard about the new opening of Hard Rock hotel myself and friends decided to give it a go over 4 days. The concept imagery looked high quality and luxurious and we were all keen to arrive and start our holiday. Then we had the misfortune of reading the other reviews from other websites before we set off — it had been slated by most. The first problem we encountered was the check in process, it takes ages, no matter what you do — we had a problem with our booking (apparently) and were all made to wait about 1 hour while the very polite women who worked there looked busy but completely confused, it was clear her training was still in progress. Finally we arrived in our rooms which were very nice, we had swim out suits, lots of fancy gadgets like a personal wireless sound system, adjustable neon lights and a hot tub bath right next to the beds (seriously). Unfortunately our air conditioning unit broke down the first night and was repaired 6 hours after I reported it. They play music more a less 24/7 on outside speakers so if you're after a quiet night in don't bother, what's worse is their music selection — nothing "Rock and Roll" about what sounded like lift music on more than one occasion. Free buffet breakfast is very comprehensive and I really enjoyed it, the food from the bar's is awful however; it costs a lot and actually was not edible on more than one occasion. To summarize, it's not quite ready for paying customers, with training and building works still happening however the staff were very polite and friendly and the facilities very nice. Maybe one to visit next season.
