This is perhaps not more adequate space to leave my reflection. I have written elsewhere, but given that rural users consulted more and more frequently the opinions of other users, so here is mine.
My professional life has been linked to the Tourism Administration in the autonomous community of Galicia. I am familiar with legislative segment governing rural tourism and is this brief comment will be read by many people since Perfeuto María is a leader in Galicia. I write these lines from the picturesque library cottage with a high level of employment despite the crisis, certified with the Q for tourist quality, very well positioned commercially, with tens of thousands of followers on social networking and above all with very good projection for the future since the family that runs it is undoubtedly involved in innovative projects that they will mark a new benchmark in rural tourism.
Only 30 years ago the practice of tourism in rural areas was a product for minorities and although these 3 decades has had an exponential growth, philosophy must remain the same:
1 — Responsible traveler seeking an experience of real contact with nature without leaving ecological footprint thus, contributing with their contribution to the sustainability of rural areas.
2 owner committed and practitioner of the same philosophy, knowledgeable of the environment locally, with dedication to service, a high degree of professionalism and able to add value to the landscape and the farming community.
3. In the case of Galicia contrasting architectural value unique buildings that form part of the historical and traditional heritage of the region (Mosteiros, Pazos, Castelos, Casas Grandes, Rectories houses and houses of village) classified in various categories and regulated by a regulation which is committed to a thorough study of architecture and rigid monitoring of restoration to enable the building to the use of rural tourism. Also standard requires a responsible and restricted exploitation of accommodation in order to give them exclusivity and uniqueness as lodgings.
These preambles are not just to express my displeasure with certain multinational companies that exhibited in their shop windows rural houses in a generic way, without taking into account its idiosyncrasies.
I have reviewed many times pages that operate around the world such as Booking or Tripadvisor and it makes me sad to see that they have not dignified on creating a specific section for RURAL tourism.
Product of the toton-revolution in this type of portals can be read very bad note criticism to rural settlements of of contrasted reputation and unblemished career by bad understood or at least contradictory reasons:
-Solitary environment.
-Away from the city.
-Little fast broadband.
-Dinner in the House or walk 2 km to a restaurant.
-Far away from everything.
-A 10 km from the beach and with lots of curves.
-Bad geographic location.
-No options for going out at night.
-There are no shops, bars or restaurants.
-Do not have reception 24 hours.
-Poor mobile coverage.
-You have to take the car or you can do nothing.
-Etc, etc, etc.
It is obvious to note that it is not the minority slow traveler.
