They charged Me more for a smaller room and in a poor state, I do not recommend this hostel.

Very clean and friendly staff very friendly location in the middle of everything practically.

Hotel on the central plaza of the Sol offers clean and comfortable rooms. Ideal for walking around the centre of Madrid.

The hostel is ok and the situation is good. But the kindness of a lady who is at the reception, leaves much to be desired. She's unfriendly and seems to be owed and not paid. Very high and with airs of superiority.

Doesn't deserve a star! We arrived at 8.30pm and had booked for 3 nights via Booking. We were told that our room was no longer available that evening but only the next day and the day after. So we canceled to find another hotel. The property took 30% of the amount we would have paid if we had occupied the room. Three days later. It's theft!

Best unbeatable prices for rooms in the area. Very clean and tidy place. Staff friendly. Highly recomand.

Very bad experience. We just booked a trip to Madrid with my family and ended up flying with easy jet. Our flight got cancelled due to aerial controller strike and we try to call 3 times the hotel to reschedule our visit to 2 days later. They didn’t want to push back our reservation and didn’t want to hear anything about our problem… this is so disappointing to see people working in the hospitality industry and not even trying to make a gesture for something that we can’t control. We didn’t ask to get reimbursed but just to push back our reservation and the lady didn’t want to hear anything. We lost 2 nights of hotel…

I was last week at the hostel and was very satisfied with the location, full door of the sun, where you can move around, excellent attention, very clean and comfort to rest. I will use it again and I recommend it because the value for money are very good.

The only problem that the receptionist in the afternoon did not get us taxi to go to the airport with all the Balijas. He sent us to the street to get it for us. But she was the bad vibe.

Very good hostel to spend a few days in Madrid, is in the heart of the capital at 50 meters from the door of the sun, the reception staff is very friendly both the woman and the man who attended us, we were on the 8th, 9th and 10th of January in the room that is just Next to the reception and we had a great.

In general hotel very good value for money. The room was spacious and comfortable. The deal has also been very good and above all the best was the excellent location next to the sun. The only downside I could put is that the bathroom was something small and uncomfortable.

It is very central and the staff were very helpful and clean.

Highly recommended to visit the center. They were all very kind. We even helped to get room despite being overlooked by the season. The location is perfect at one step from the Puerta del Sol. When they left, they helped us guard the baggage. By the location the taxi you should find it walk on the street, but it's no problem because they happen all the time.

İn the middle of the city center.

Its a great place and a super location. Totaly relaxed and no hurries. You can leave your suitcase by the reception. There is 24H somebody at the desk and most important its super clean. We were here last week for the 6th time with the Champions Leagu Final and its not the last time we go there. Madrid is a wonderful city and Hostal El Pilar is a great cheap place to stay. So enjoy.

This conveniently located hotel, good, and the rooms are very comfortable also the price is not nothing wrong.

It is a perfect place to sleep, the rooms are big and comfortable, the price is not expensive, but it is a place of passage since it has many leisure but to surrounding areas if you have several things, dependents treat you great and don't have problems to arrive at any time.

THE best location, you have all the sights just a step, just 50 metres from the puerta del sol.
We have been these days in family with 2 small children and stay there has been better.
It is a cozy and quiet, with all the comforts and above all clean.
We have been 3 days, as many things to see, have been us again. I highly recommend it.

I have been this week of vacation in Madrid with my wife and my children and the truth that has been a great, affordable prices to travel with the whole family, a very clean, something that was very important because ivamos with small children and on the whole we loved the hospitality and friendliness of the owners and staff working in the hostel. We repeat it because it is very comfortable to be able to visit the sites most important of Madrid due to its unbeatable location, it is without doubt a site is highly recommended.

The rooms are so small, and a very sad Brown. To go to the rooms of the upper floor no elevator and narrow stairs, lugging suitcases to wood. It is very close to plaza del Sol, Yes, but the street Calle de Carretas (the way of the hostel) is seedy. In Madrid there is definitely better. If it costs so little, there is a reason. The positive side is the cleanliness.
