We have only been here one night but this hotel has already fallen in love with us! The décor, both common spaces and the rooms, is original and pleasant, the location, great, and the staff very friendly and close. Unbeatable! If we can, we'll repeat!

Central location (2 minutes from the metro), very nice staff, great rooms with very comfortable bed, fridge, clean bathroom with large shower (but no bidet) and great air conditioning system. Very pleasant experience overall that I strongly recommend.

Place is cosy. My room overlooked a wall! Breakfast could be managed better. Staff is very polite. Close to the city center and the Palace. Overall ok.

Nice hotel with good location near plaza de Espana, gran via, and the royal place. The hotel was recently renovated so it look great. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The room is really good, clean, nothing to complain about. The location is great. Only downside: the condition of the bathroom which by some places was badly finished or dirty. The staff is really friendly, mostly speaks English and French, great from this point of view. The breakfasts are also good, nothing very original, but the dishes offered are good and seem fresh. Always nice:) I'll be back here if I come back to this town!

Great reception with clean, modern rooms. The breakfast is good but can get boring since it never changes. Overall a nice friendly, cozy stay in a good location.

Very pleasant hotel staff. Changed rooms due to a broken door handle that left me unable to open my room door from the inside. No other issues so far. The hotel is in a great city center location, which means lots of noise allllllll night long. The breakfast optionscould be better; as visitors from the USA, we need more than breads/pastries for breakfast and don’t have time to make our own eggs.

I was actually in the Chipén; The bar in the Hall I loved for its castizo touch, impeccable décor and good service.
An ideal meeting point, because it's quiet. I drank a phenomenally prepared coffee. The menu with good selection and multiple winks from Madrid. Artisan beers, tap vermouth, curious pecking. I did not try but what I saw was good looking at area prices, not very popular but the site and the quality well deserve it.

Had 4th floor room on street facing side of the hotel. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast in the morning had good variety of food. Most attraction were a 20 to 30 minute walk away and subway system was close by.

I've been to the cafeteria quite a few times. Take it easy. Good coffee and good pastries.

Just renoveled, fairly walking distance from historical downtown (between two metro stations though), great value for money.

I had a wonderful time here, good staff, awesome rooms and really good fresh food, not to mention it's good positioned, close to the center.

We were very impressed with the breakfast and the best coffee I have ever taken. Big, with milk and well of cream… freshly made village bread toast, crispy and plump and delicious butter croissant. It is true that it was a tad expensive because it is not a normal breakfast (5, €20) but for a caprichillo from time to time is great. They also gave the option of buffet so… will have to go back.

Noisy room overlooking the street! Woke at 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning because of the noise of the garbage and the management of the hotel sheets!

We did not stay at the hotel but we loved the Vermuteria Chipen Q this in the hotel. A very nice place and some very good tapas.

Very good location. The breakfast is very rich although they don't put it all together as fast as they should and although the front desk staff is not very friendly, the hotel is worth it. The rooms are large and comfortable.

Host. Good service. All impeccable. Just a very high heating.

Amazing the attention, the rooms and the overall service of ten. Very decisive in front of any setback and a luxury situation. Wonderful breakfasts.

As far as 4* hotels go, this hotel is in superb position (100 yards from Plaza de España), 2 minutes walk to nearest Metro station. The Reception staff speaks excellent English and treat you as a valued customer. The rooms are not excessively large, but beds are comfortable, everything works (climate, h. W. Pressure etc. ) the plasma screen is 40"+ and it provides you with relevant business channels (CNBC, Bloomberg etc. ). My room (608), came with substantially sized balcony and a decent view over the quiet side street and Madrid panorama. The breakfast was full English, with eggs, bacon, rösti and selection of tropical fruits and continental pastries. The surrounding streets have number of restaurants, cerveserias and bakeries to choose from. Good choice, great staff.

Very nice. The breakfast included is very rich. Very nice rooms and the service of coffee and drinks that are in the room, : excellent.
Very close to the Gran Via, the Temple of Mustd. There are several restaurants nearby.

Customor service was great. Food was delicious. Beds were comfy and overall experience was marvellous.

Loved my stay here. The hotel is centrally located. It is close to a lot of must see sights & food places. The room I was in was so nice & comfortable. Was happy to have paid what I did for it. The staff were super helpful. If I return to Madrid I will be staying here again.

Very centrally and conveniently located in the heart of Madrid. The rooms are extremely pleasant and stocked with everything you need. The free drinks, gown and tea/coffee making facilties are an appreciated bonus. Staff members were very helpful and courteous. I could not recommend this hotel enough!

The location is perfect and both the decoration of the hotel and the room is very current, they say, of the 2017. The room is very large and the bed and pillows are very comfortable. But the most important function, which is rest, is not fulfilled. The rooms are not soundproofed at all. You hear perfectly every door of the hallway, the shower of the neighbors and the worst, in my case I stayed on the first floor, you hear all the traffic and noise from the street. If they do not resolve this fact, I will hardly stay again.

Very nicely decorated and furnished. Our room was quite dark and there was no view. Would be great if there was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee. Front desk staff very helpful.

BEWEAR — HOTEL HAD SOME "UPGRADES"! We had stayed in this hotel many times before and we liked it a lot. Unfortunatly, renovation had happen. What a disaster!? 1. Air con is barely working and is turning on and off periodically. It was HOT in our room day or night while Madrid was at +35C! 2. Furniture in the room is cheap and not comfortable, useless. Please see the photo of the small table… I wonder for what? … my grandmother's dolls? 3. New showers are complex to turn on and off. 4. Not sure about the breakfast, but many people were standing and waiting to be seated. 5. Expansive bar. 6. Plastic floors. U can hear people below and above you clomping in the high heels. 7. Everything is looking cheap and not practical… and yes … you can plug now your usb in the wall… yeah… SAD Overall — this new design/update is a total failure! Both interior designer and the architect should be punished for the misuse of the resourses and the horrible outcome! We are not coming back to this hotel — it was ruined AS WELL AS OUR WEEKEND IN MADRID!

The place is nearly completely refurbished (June 2017) Rooms and bathrooms are completely new and modern. Usb plugs all around. Nicely done. Needs finishing touch. Big difference with half a year ago. Great location as before. Close to public transport and within walking distance of Royal Palace and shopping streets.

Great hotel in the city center. Close to plaza espana. Right now under renovation but we got a renovated floor. Should be all ready for summer of 2017.

We stayed in this hotel several times and tried a lot of room here. I have to say the room is really worth spending the extra money to upgrade to a better room, otherwise you will get a room in the dark. The hotel was very old, but there appears to be recently renovated, but still retain their old furniture and bathroom facilities. In addition the hot water system is not very good, the noise is also great. This bed is very comfortable, room service was great.

Hotel location is very good! Room was very clean, but the customer service is terrible. When you walk into the Hall staff never greet you unless you go to them. Only hard-boiled eggs for breakfast, staff members appear to be very happy to work there. Don't make local calls in the hotel, they are charged four dollars per minute, I don't want to live here anymore.

The good thing is it is central located in the close to the plaza de España Metro yellow 3 well to reach — well the rest ust average for mercure hotel chain old and renovation requires interests staff go and listless for 3 day trip to Madrid but ok.

I just went for work, is at the side of the Court to which I had to go. The staff is friendly and did not mind to keep the luggage after leaving the room. Still hate q I insist to make loyalty cards. To go for work again.

This hotel's cafeteria is like an oasis not only for the air conditioner to stop if not by the contrast with what there is around. Type wallpaper with Edwardian decoration is cozy. The bad thing is that now have changed the coffee maker for a Nespresso.
Services performed are book and details are cared, not usually have many people. They don't have any specialty to be aseptic international cuisine of hotel.

Unfriendly — in need of renovation and poor breakfast — only the situation in Madrid is good. We are always pleased with Mercure hotels but this hotel is not recommended.

4 star hotel breakfast as long as 2 pieces 95! A cup of milk coffee and three! Large Croissant! Thought service was wrong … … Eat me ~.

The staff is very professional, I was when was dating a girl who suffered from kleptomania and not I realized but a table centrepiece that had liked to got into the bag. The waiter has told you that decoration was not to take her but without blushing anyone.

Prior to the rooms halls carpet can be improved; but in general, a place to recommend.
