My opinion is about Brunch. Good atmosphere, enlivened by the performance of a pianist. Friendly and helpful staff. Varied products, and excellent presentation but, I think the quality in some, is not related to the price. In any case, I recommend it.

The service was amazing. The rooms were more than what we expected. From the spacious bathroom to the sleeping quarters. The location was on point walking distance to many Spaniard eateries and sites! The staff was ever so friendly, ready to assist us when needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The price for food, drinks and nightly rate was not worth it. So expensive for a very outdated room. It was clean except for the cups. I put them on the floor so the maid would change them and they just put it back. I had an internal room facing nothing. Ask for a room facing the city. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again if I had to, but price was not worth it for the "luxury" Breakfast spread was nice. Very wide selection.

Just love this hotel. I’ve stayed in many round the world but the old-era, Art Deco, chandelier-drenched, pink marble pillars and charming staff make this one of my absolute favourites. Very comfortable, spotless, great service, good location. Stay here — you won’t regret it.

This is without doubt the very best hotel my family and I have ever stayed in. We have just returned to England after 5 days in Madrid and we cannot fault the Intercontinental hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, spotlessly clean and with every facility you could wish for but the very best part of staying there is the fantastic staff. The night manager was extremely welcoming when we arrived late in the evening, Victor on the concierge desk is very knowledgeable about the city and had lots of excellent ideas as to what we could see in Madrid, Irena who seated us for breakfast each day was very welcoming and remembered each morning what we had planned to do on the previous day. All of the staff were lovely and so was the food. We intend to return to Madrid in the near future and will definitely be staying at the Intercontinental again next time.

I'll start off my review saying it's based on my opinion after attending a meeting at the hotel, but not staying. The atmosphere is pretty 1800's: gold and red details, barroque chairs and sofas, high ceilings and detailed lamps… It's a fancy place to sum up. The staff are really helpful and kind and will always try to live up to the expectations. The food is great and the spaces are wide and full of light. It basically gives what it takes when you pay, so be prepared to spend some money but you will get quality in return and a glimpse into the past.

Bit old-fashioned style in the rooms. Clean but towels get always exchanged, even if you put them back on the holder. The restaurant is good, but you will find more attracting restaurants for a nice venue bit south of the Intercontinental. It's close to the business centre of Madrid and therefore I recommend it mainly for business travellers. Service was perfect.

Our overall stay here for 3 days is excellent. We had welcome churros and chocolate dip. Lovely room and hefty buffet breakfast. Omg they serve salmon!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very good and the bathroom was very comfortable and the water was very nice and the breakfast was great. Breakfast is a bit disappointing to be 5 * hotel.

Well located Hotel, to renew tapicerias, breakfast very complete in quantity and quality in the main salon. Club lounge, where afternoon tea and the cocktail precena, painful, lousy service and little variety, it seems to be that it is the decision of the hotel group, to take into account the people who intend to stay in Club rooms.

The main advantage of the hotel is its location — just 20 minutes by taxi from the airport. The hotel requires refurbishment. If you are a fan of modern designs, this is not a good choice. The food is decent but for a 5 star hotel it should have been much better.

I went with some friends to Brunch that they do on Sundays in the InterContinental garden and we went out delighted. At all times a quiet atmosphere and decorated with live piano.
The treatment of waiters and cooks was unbeatable, always attentive and polite, made us feel at home.
With a great variety of dishes, salty and sweet of an exquisite quality.
For something is the best Brunch in the city, recommended 100% I invite you all to give you a tribute is this delightful place and let you take the flavors and ambience of the restaurant.
My compliments to all that you make possible that everything goes out of 10.

I would give 3 1/2 stars but that’s not an option so rounding up to 4 because the service is fantastic. The hotel itself is a bit outdated and feels like time has left it behind. As stated in some previous reviews the walls are very thin and you can definitely hear your neighbours (crying baby included). We had a balcony which was nice but the view was a bit underwhelming. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Nice hotel and great staff just a bit outdated.

I had stayed for five days and everything was amazing. You may need to get a cab to the downtown but it took me only about 10 mins. Plus the club lounge was great. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel, has everything you need/want the breakfast is lovely! (No Spanish omolets) I would come again, it's at 4 stars not 5 because it's a little dated, the TV is a little sluggish and there is nothing really extra for Gold members. I did get a room with a balcony that was a good side and gets lots of sun.

Very decent Brunch, luxurious hotel but classic cut, normal rooms but with an exquisite service. Important not to accept your transfer to the airport, it is overly expensive, and there is a taxi stand at the door.

Magnificent! This is how beautiful they left the room for our 5th Luxonomy Congress in June 2017. Unbeatable attention!

A delicious brunch, very nice and with lots of variety. There is a lack of cheese and the desserts had a very similar base.

Fantastic location… The back side of the block has plenty of local restaurants. Clean, quiet hotel with access to the city without being in the middle of all the tourists.

A 5 * hotel with good cocktails and a nice garden-terrace. They have a select brunch on weekends. Good and friendly service. It's expensive but you're happy.

Great stay, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful at all times. The location is good, shopping and dining options abound. This was truly a positive experience. So, why not five stars? Well, the walls seem a bit thin, it being very easy to hear your neighbors, at all times. In addition, the room was a bit on the small side, not a problem for a business traveler, but for a vacationing couple or family it might feel a bit cramped. None of this was at a level detrimental to a pleasant stay, but it was notable. Kudos for the very comfortable bed. So many hotel beds remind me of sleeping on the ground, both hard and lumpy, not here. A perfectly balanced mattress with plenty of pillow options. Makes you think that someone cares. Also, not just a comforter, but a sheet as well. Prevents overheating or freezing, your options too many times these days. A special thanks to Susana G. For the warm welcome at check in. Nice personal touch, although I am not a fan of hard candy. Still, beats a jab in the eye with a sharp stick any day. Looking forward to my next visit.

Rooms are small by Intercontinental standards. All staff friendly and helpful. Good location with easy access to city centre.

The staff were very nice and helpful. Beautiful lobby area to meeting with people and enjoy some music in the evening. Located on a huge boulevard near many high end restaurants. Close to bus stop and metro stop for public transportation option though a good 20 minutes from "downtown" tourist sights.

The price is very high for the standard.

Here is how I rate hotel, three stars when it meet expectations, four stars if it deliver stellar service, and five stars mean the hotel and staff deliver an extraordinary service. Intercontinental hotel is a two stars and definitely not anywhere close to five stars. I hold platinum/ambassador status with ihg/intercontinental brand so I do tend to stay at their brand and travel 90 days plus a year so I know hotels. Checking in was normal but I was asked if I would like a plate of fruits or savory for being an ambassador and I told them savory. It was never delivered. Wifi is free at this hotel but it doesn't work properly. It work great for ten minutes then stop. It was difficult trying to book our train tickets. By the time it went through our train tickets went up by 100 euros! If I was on a business trip I would have been very mad because there is no way you could get any work done here. When checking online at this hotel there was suppose to be a direct metro service to the city center unfortunately there wasn't one so you'll have to take a cab each time if you want to go down there. This was not mentioned at all on the site. The hotel itself is a bit dated, comfortable but definitely not luxurious. If we were staying longer then two days we would have moved to another hotel. Base on the above, the hotel did not meet expectations so the two stars. There are many wonderful choices in Madrid. Do yourself a favor and book another place.

Great location. The Metro is just 2 minutes walk. I'm staying with my grandaughter and we have both enjoyed our meals in the restaurant where you get some surprising extras that are most welcome. I also like the fact if you have drink in the bar it comes with nuts, crisps and olives. Superb service.

Love this hotel where "everyone knows your name. " Great breakfast before you head out for your day of sightseeing, just
to end your day having wine and snacks in the lobby bar. If we ever are fortunate enough to return to Madrid, we won't stay anywhere else.

Very high standard Hotel, even in the prices, the breakfast costs like a dinner. Nothing to say about anything, everything is perfect, from reception to attention to detail, from concierge service to Ultra King Size bed. Everything you would expect from a Grand Hotel Li to find.

It is a cozy place and wonderful, sumptuous and beautiful, the care is wonderful, very central to everything.

Lovely hotel, world class breakfast, room was a touch small but was well kitted out, with a lovely ensuite too. A bit out of the centre of Madrid but it's only a couple of stops on the metro to the centre. Gym is a little bit small considering the size of the hotel, but there is aircon and decent equipment. Overall very happy.

The garden of the InterContinental is the restaurant of the Hotel Intercontinental in Madrid, located in the Paseo de la Castellana. If you want to highlight something of this restaurant is the service, friendly and extremely attentive.
I like to visit the garden of the InterContinental Sunday morning for brunch. Few buffets can compare with this, its scale, quality and variety are astronomical. The buffet has traditional dishes of Spanish cuisine, very creative salads, roast suckling pig, lobster, a great section of desserts and much more.
It is a place ideal for family, all are something that they like, not can make mistakes. They also have a service of reenactors for children, making it perfect for parents in need of a bit of peace and quiet.

Central location, two stops on the metro fro the Bernabeu, the Intercontinental Madrid was a pleasant stay for a weekend to watch Real Madrid play. As an Intercontinental Ambassador, we were upgraded to a room with Executive Lounge access. The room itself was average size, but a large bathroom by European standards. It had a balcony but the weather and view weren't conducive to spending any time on it. We will probably stay here again as the stay were brilliant — both friendly yet professional.

The brunch seemed to me that it did not meet expectations. There was a great variety, and drinks are paid aside, something that we didn't know when we ask various juices Orange and just paying almost 30 Euro only in juices. Quality ok food and environment was a bit old, type Titanic.

Great Sunday brunch. Very high quality of raw material, including good cheeses, ham, and seafood. Eye that orange juice is not included and they charge him individually.

Since you purchased the chain Barcelo has nothing to do. They have been charged. A penalty.

It is a great hotel. The events that we have held in it, both work and private, have been highly successful. They facilitate you to how much needs require. The staff is very professional, respectful and discreet… and if we talked about brunch on Sundays, in a nice environment, with a wide variety of quality products and a presentation that attracts the attention quickly… I believe that at the present time is the best brunch that exist in Madrid.

Seasonal cuisine with quality products. The restaurant is located in a sort of lounge with access to the hotel garden, charming both in winter and in summer. Perhaps the price is rather high, but as I say their products are quality. I recommend the Carpaccio, the foie gras and lamb stuffed with truffled mushrooms. I think that their Sunday brunch is also highly recommended, but I have not tested it.
