Smallish modern rooms, great staff, varied breakfast. When I couldn't figure out the phone for my wake-up call, they knocked on my door to be sure I was awake. They care. Will change big bills from the ATM into smaller ones.

Cool boutique hotel in a great location. We were able to walk to all the sights. The staff was especially helpful and spoke English well.

Yes, it was an ideal location with walking distance to Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real and Puerta del Sol. Metro stations Opera and Sol were steps away. Now here come the Cons: Aside from the chic, modern, elegant appearance, Francisco I needs major customer service improvement. -Rooms have no iron; you're charged a fee per item for pressing. -Our room had no Air condition. We were not told of anything until we called front desk. They said since it wasn't summer season (June), the thermostat would not work on A/C mode. It was intentionally programmed that way. Average temp in room was 78 degrees Fahrenheit. -Because of no A/C, there was No ventilation. Cleaning ladies would leave window open which allowed for a few mosquitoes to enter. Nothing we couldn't handle but they need to make some hospitality adjustments.

I give this hotel 10/10. Amazing location, very friendly staff and the breakfast was fantastic. We will definitely stay here again in the future if we visit Madrid again. 100% recommend.

This hotel was such a Suprise. Large room. Love the corner room with three balconies. Staff VERY friendly and helpful. Perfect location.

Nice Hotel in the very center of Madrid to 1 min of the door of the sun and to 5 of the main square, walking.
It is located on a busy pedestrian street, the rooms have an acceptable soundproofing level, so the street fuss does not bother too much.
Breakfasts are buffet style, the assortment is fine, various kinds of bread, fruit, pasta, tortilla, bacon, sausages, cereals, yogurt, etc.
Comfortable king-size bed and bathroom with amenities.
Excellent cleanliness and staff very friendly and attentive.

A great hotel! Misleads that it is * * because it could be easily of higher category! Spacious and modern room, with a perfect terrace in summer, overlooking the Arenal Street. Bathroom with modern facilities, although if I have to put a stick they are the glass bathroom doors, which do not give much intimacy.
Very clean, friendly staff, good decor and a very good and full breakfast. It was a pleasant surprise!

I think I understand some hotels because I've been traveling for 40 years, being in several different hotels every year. I usually stay in 4 star hotels, but by close proximity to the company I was taking this two star because there were no rooms in any other.

Just a "but" for which I do not give 5 stars… The beds do not do well. I wasn't even stretching the bottom sheets. Slight lack that deserves no greater consideration.

The place very nice and clean well located except that they are in remodeling and start working at 9am with machines and hammers do not warn you that they are in remodeling you do not offer even a coffee in apologies. Too bad.

Very good hotel, very clean. Spacious room. Ideally located right in the centre of Madrid in a busy pedestrian shopping street. We were on the 5th floor (out of 6) so no noise problem. I think it's worth more than 2 stars.

Amazing it only has two stars. It should be four. Super-stylish, excellent professional check in experience and unbelievable value. Highly recommended. Close to both Sol and Opera Metro stops. I'll definitely be staying here next time I am in the great city of Madrid.

The location is excellent. A few meters from the Sun station, and very close to royal palace, the cathedral, and many places of interest. The hotel is very nice, completely renovated inside, with excellent taste and comfort. Friendly staff at all times.

Pleasant & welcoming registration staff. The room was newly renovated with a contemporary décor. The heating and cooling ventilation is individually controlled in the room and efficient. A generous buffet breakfast is offered. The hotel is located on a pedestrian street within easy walking distance to most sites, restaurants and retail. I found no need to use mass transit; a subway station is about two blocks away. Because of luggage, I hired a taxi from the Atocha train station to the hotel for less than 5 Euros. I will stay here again on future visits.

I booked my family here and used my credit card as payment. First of all, my family loved the location and the rooms. However, a few days before their visit, I received a notification from my bank that I was charged EUR98.10 from this hotel. I e-mailed the hotel. They didn't respond. Had to follow up before they did. Then they said they couldn't do anything without seeing the bank receipt. So I waited for my account statement (for actual posting) and saw that it was indeed them who charged me and reversed it the next day. However, because of currency differences, I incurred a loss of ~USD15. Minimal but this is the ONLY hotel where I've experienced mishandling of my account. I sent them an email with a screenshot of my bank statement showing the transactions. They didn't bother to get back to me, provide an explanation or at the very least apologize. Since they couldn't validate (or admit) early on about the charging, I had to block my card for fear of compromise.

Staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. It's in a safe part of Madrid, and I felt comfortable coming at going at night. The beds were very comfortable and the view from the rooms over the calle is beautiful. Highly recommend!

I have been there for 5 nights in July 2017 with my family, I booked two rooms, one family room which can occupy 4 people which has no view and low energy in term of color and room arrangement, the other room was room with twin beds with view to the Arenal street with high energy and modern decor. Hotel location is near plaza de sol (5 minutes’ walk) and 15 minutes’ walk to gran via street. Hotel location enable you to visit attractions by walk or by using metro. Yes the hotel deserve to be clean two star with good location. Important note, I came from Malaga to Madrid by train and the destination was Atocha train station in Madrid and I spent more than 20 minutes under the sun with my family with small kids to get a taxi but I failed. I talked with more than 5 taxi drivers and when thy know my hotel name they refuse on the grounds that the hotel's location does not allow cars to enter which is not correct, the real reason is because they need a ride with a lot of money instead to take me to the hotel near to the train station, so my advice not wasting your time with non-ethical attitude of taxi drivers is to take a metro.

This is a hidden gem! Best possible location to enjoy Madrid. Newly renovated. Rivals most 5 star hotels in facilities and decor at super affordable price. Staff is extra friendly and always willing to help. Will go back in a heartbeat.

Great location. Near all the major attractions and close to two metro/subway stations. Great breakfast. Great room. Educated and helpful staff. Just to highlight one of the moments… The Opera actors/players they get around the hotel block to sing trying to promote the Opera and eventually bringing more people in. Well… I can say it was a unique experience of taking a bath hearing actual Opera players singing below my room in the street. Nothing can beat that!

The hotel itself is cute and a nice little boutique hotel. The only problem is that if you're looking to go to sleep anytime before 5am, good luck. Construction all day with scaffolding around the hotel, and partying all night outside the hotel. There is a club very close, couldn't hear the music just everyone outside. Also for some reason there are, what sounded like, garbage trucks and banging all night. The rooms really don't have any noise insulation. If you're looking to party and don't mind the noise, go for it. But if you're recovering from jet lag and want to get some rest look elsewhere off of this busy pedestrian only street.

Horrific experience, construction ongoing in this hotel which we weren't told about before hand, if we had of known we wouldn't have booked it (we stayed 25-27th February 2016) so our floor, the third floor, there was constant noise and builders outside our bathroom window meaning we couldn't open it and had to leave the shutters down. Paid for superior room and was put in standard room, which we did not realise until the third night when we checked the pictures on their website. When I said this to them, they had zero sympathy and said and I quote "well you still had a double bed, another guest was in your room" when I asked them to refund me the difference between the superior room and standard room (€200), they refused… complaint ongoing. They knew they had put us in a standard room but taken payment for a superior room. They deliberately said out to lie, deceive and behave fraudulently. The situation ruined our engagement anniversary obviously. I would be interested to see how many other people they have done this to.

Hotel is in a perfect location. No matter where you can walk to. Our room (room 208) is not only beautiful but also comfortable and neat, but we heard from a lot of piping vibration of sound coming from the bathroom. For breakfast there are many types to choose from, have hot and cold food. Hotel staff not only polite and helpful, we stayed in this hotel is very pleasant, definitely will come again.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, and breakfast well done if you decide to pay one morning for it (€9.90 pp). We had the fourth floor, overlooking the main street Calle del Arrenal, which although a little noisy, it's to be expected and not an issue. Would recommend a room above level 1 as they are doing some building construction there. Overall very good.

Great location in city center, clean and modern 2 star hotel.

We stayed during the months of June and July, three times, we encantolas rooms, the breakfast, the cleanliness, the wonderful care your staff, deserves a star more, highly recommended.

We stayed from Monday 16 to Friday 19 of this month of June and I have to say that the hotel is amazing, deserves at least a star more, well not lack anything. The attention of the staff is excellent, and the unbeatable location, two steps from the Puerta del Sol, Palacio Real, Plaza mayor … A hotel recommended in all senses. I will return without a doubt.

Staff is friendly and the rooms are nice. However, they're doing construction on the first floor so moved to a higher room (Feb 2015). Very central location and close to Opera metro stop. Bit noisy at night.

The location of the hotel is really very good. As a result this can become a disadvantage at night because there is a lot of noise in the street.
The room is nice and clean.
Continental breakfast (croissants, milk, coffee, jam, salami, butter and bread).
At least one of the front desk understands and speaks good Italian.
Cons: lacks the minibar, the safe is there but is not fitted to the wall, no air conditioning but at least there is a fan.

Impressive. Unbeatable value! I was about 15 days ago, at the end of January, and I was amazed. Room was superchula and totally renewed. In addition they caught you luggage at the door and led them to the room and we paid price for 2 star hotel. Super good location right in the Centre. Staff very attentive and friendly. Only by removing a small bug, there was no fruit at breakfast, but good is something that is easily arranged. The truth is that congratulations to the hotel, the Manager and the establishment in general. I recommend it and I will.

Already I was once in this hotel I'm back again and found completely renovated all new
price per night for two people and varied breakfast included is as if it were in a four star hotel, with a large bathroom bedroom and salt with armchairs and tables included, ultramodern and maybe a step away from the historic centre of Madrid.

Too much noise here. OK, this hotel is not very comfortable (I think)
