Good hotel, functional, modern, clean … good service; Although with some (few) little details to Polish
I will start by saying that if not for 2 little I think they have to polish in the Hotel, I would have put very good (4 stars), without hesitation.
It is a sophisticated hotel, modern, clean, beautiful, new, is in a Barcelona area away from the hustle, in a high class neighborhood, but close (10 minutes) to the Metro (Maria Cristina), the Tram or some buses. Walk a little further (15 minutes) you reach the English court Diagonal, or La Illa (20 minutes).
It has few rooms (40). We were assigned a fairly quiet room, away from the elevators, at the end of the building, away from the bar, on the top floor without neighbors above, etc.
Large room, very nice bed (although they were two beds together), a large and nice bathroom, large integrated shower tray, handy closets, etc. Comfortable pillows. At night it was hot, but we put a little air in it and everything was solved.
They put you a couple of complimentary water bottles, just once, as well as coffee and infusions (and a coffee pot + kettle), also only once.
The room overlooked the common areas of the later urbanization, with its swimming pool, etc. (what envy). The window super well insulated … nothing was heard from the patio, with children, etc. Nothing.
But it is true that the corridor was heard almost everything (go out and enter the neighbors, with some shouting) and the staff who started cleaning the other rooms soon. And it was also heard sometime at dawn to empty the cistern from the room next door, as well as the footsteps of some neighbors (barefoot, without the cushioning of any footwear, and it sounds like Attila passing through his room). I have a light sleep and it is true that at some point I woke up for those noises, although it did not become a serious problem indeed. In the end it depends more on the other customers who are ' respectful ' with others and watch not make much noise …
And then the price. I think it's a little high for what it offers.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very well. The bar people also, very nice, young, but helpful and professional (some slowness perhaps). We did not have breakfast included but we were able to order without problem standard breakfast apart. Even some coffee they gave us when they came my visiting parents … thank you! The first night we have a drink, at normal prices (8-9 €)
If you solved that two points on some noises and the high price, it would be a very option to take into account in my trips to BCN … but at the moment maybe these drawbacks will throw me back. Still, being of such a new opening, they have much more travel to improve … encouragement!
