It's a very good hotel. The rooms are clean, beautifully decorated, and have nice amenities and toiletries. Best par is the staff, the are helpful and really competent, not to mention friendly!

The service by the staff was a complete miss for us. Upon arrival in the evening after a train ride from Madrid, we wanted to quickly check-in and proceed out for dinner to subsequently watch the famed Magic Fountain. Unfortunately our air conditioning was spoilt, and instead of being offered a replacement room, had to wait in the stuffy room for an hour while the lone staff ran from reception desk to our room in a bid to fix the air conditioning. An hour later, we suggested he give us a new room, which he did. He told us to repack everything, and proceed back down to the lobby to move to our new room. Turns out, we were given a room right next to ours. The hotel staff could have had us simply transfer our things over to the new room instead of having to bring everything back down and up again. To make matters worse, instead of giving us a room of equal size at least, we were given a significantly smaller room with a smaller bed. By this time, it was approximately 2045 at night, and we had no hopes of making dinner plus catching the Magic Fountain show. We had to request for dinner and ask if it could be complementary since this hold up at the hotel cost us our planned evening. Thankfully, we were given a complementary meal. Not so thankfully however, when we proceeded to check out 4 days later, the new staffer at the front desk attempted to charge us for the meal. A meal which we confirmed twice with her colleague would be complementary.

Very pleasant and confortable hotel, with an excellent room and good breakfast. Good service and professional employees. Nice location with a quiet neighbourhood, near Maria Cristina Metro Station.

Fabulous boutique hotel. Will definitely be going back. Ideally situated for Camp Nou and Diagonal. Metro access is a short stroll away. Perfect. A great way to be in the city, without the throng of the centre.

Very nice hotel. Clean room. Nice calm area. 6 mins walking distance to the subway. Some good shopping places are in this neighborhood. I loved the big room of the hotel and staff are very friendly.

Comfortable room. 30 mins away from airport and 13 mins away from Sants train station.

An absolute gem of a hotel! This is the first time we've stayed in this area of BCN, but would definitely love to come back and stay here again. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, the hotel itself is spotless. Our room was fantastic and exceptionally quiet. The firm bed was sooo comfortable and the aircon was most welcome in the August heat!

Great Hotel at a good location. 5 Minute walk to bus and tram station from where you can explore Barcelona and only 10 minutes from Camp Nou. Rooms are comfortable and clean. I'm giving 4 stars because of the breskfast which is indeed very tasty, but you can choose only out of three different menus. No buffett. That's not 4* like in my eyes.

I will start by saying that if not for 2 little I think they have to polish in the Hotel, I would have put very good (4 stars), without hesitation.
It is a sophisticated hotel, modern, clean, beautiful, new, is in a Barcelona area away from the hustle, in a high class neighborhood, but close (10 minutes) to the Metro (Maria Cristina), the Tram or some buses. Walk a little further (15 minutes) you reach the English court Diagonal, or La Illa (20 minutes).
It has few rooms (40). We were assigned a fairly quiet room, away from the elevators, at the end of the building, away from the bar, on the top floor without neighbors above, etc.
Large room, very nice bed (although they were two beds together), a large and nice bathroom, large integrated shower tray, handy closets, etc. Comfortable pillows. At night it was hot, but we put a little air in it and everything was solved.
They put you a couple of complimentary water bottles, just once, as well as coffee and infusions (and a coffee pot + kettle), also only once.
The room overlooked the common areas of the later urbanization, with its swimming pool, etc. (what envy). The window super well insulated … nothing was heard from the patio, with children, etc. Nothing.

Functional, new, excellent location, staff super attentive, to repeat without hesitation.

Lovely hotel, staff are lovely couldn't fault a thing. All went out their way to help us with our stay and to understand us. The rooms are amazing as is the gym. The restaurant and staff are brilliant, very calm and relaxed atmosphere. The price of the good and quality are both excellent. The whole hotel is clean and modern. I would definitely recommend staying here, with the help of the staff and a map we had no trouble at all getting around the beautiful city of Barcelona. Many thanks to the staff at the Upper Diagonal for making our stay that extra bit special.
