Spent my birthday in Barcelona at this beautifully quaint hotel and I couldn’t have asked for a better anywhere else. I received Cava and warm smiles from the front desk personnel. They were super kind and even made special accommodations to get me in a room as soon as possible as my flight from Madrid in was much earlier than regular check in. The room was lovely. It was on the top floor right near the pool and rooftop with such a gorgeous view of the city. The concierge service was DIVINE! I’m totally in love with the service I received from them. They totally loved on me for my birthday from champagne, treats, a balloon, dessert and even a gift! I was in complete shock! There was absolutely nothing I could say wrong about this hotel and the staff. The food is great, the hotel is beautiful (and was at a great location), all the staff was kind, and every service was on point! ♥️ 5 stars.

They were very concern up to extent of safe keeping our motorbike rental during the protest. The hotel is very nice, very welcoming as soon as you enter the lobby. We had a nice room. I have never seen such a great amazing team of people with great customer service! I mean from answering simple questions, explaining all the details, ensuring that you are safe as you tour Barcelona etc. We arrived very late and exhausted; the staff were super kind and helpful from arrival to discharge. I appreciate the fact that they cared so much not only to us but to our kids. The place is very safe and clean. I will definitely recommend this hotel to any one.

We are travelers who have enjoyed stays at some great hotels in Europe and the United States, but Barcelona's Cotton House Hotel may be our very favorite. The location is perfect, the building and public areas are beautiful, the food is special and the bright rooms are most comfortable. But what makes Cotton House so special is the staff. They are beautifully attired, universally warm and gracious, and always there with a genuine smile and a desire to fulfill a traveler's every need. Kudos to the hotel's management for the hiring and training of the very best hotel staff "family" we have ever experienced.

They welcomed us with drinks (water and cava). The check-in desk was very attentive and kind. When we got up to the room, we found that the room was decorated for our trip! Also they gave us free wine and chocolates. I highly recommend this hotel for their care and service.

Fantastic hotel! The staff is friendly and helpful, and they all speak perfect English. The rooms are plush and quiet. There’s a nice view (Sagrada Familia! ) of the scenic side of the city from the roof. The building has an interesting history and great architecture. The location is very convenient. Highly recommended!

My wife and I have stayed at some wonderful hotels, both in the US and Europe, and our stay stay at the Cotton House was one of our best. The place is immaculately beautiful, with old world charm and highlights. The staff was courteous, very fiendly and prompt with any request — the nighttime front desk staff went out of their way to help us during a late night flight crisis (last minute flight cancellations). The room itself was comfortable, well appointed, with a amazingly comfortable bed. After days spent walking, and nights spent eating, it was a nice quiet place to come back to relax for the next days adventures. The Cotton House is the place we will stay on our trips to Barcelona.

Truly a beautiful property! We have been pleasantly surprised how quite the room is at night. We have a street view room and the windows do a remarkable job at keeping sound out. Have barely used the elevator because the spiral staircase is so beautiful. The pool on the top floor (6) has remakable views of the city. However the pool is rather small and the gym is the smallest I've ever seen (1 elliptical, 1 treadmill, and several small weights). The have a nice breakfast. The setting is open to so many windows and the outside courtyard. Such a pleasant way to wake up and spend the morning. Staff service has been wonderful! Everyone is pleasant and helpful. Also, this location has been phenomenal for walking to all the various attractions.

A beautiful hotel with so much history. The room was very well presented and it had everything you need. Very stylish hallways. The food was exquisite from breakfast, lunch to dinner. Very friendly staff with a huge knowledge of the local area. I enjoyed my stay and I’d highly recommend this hotel to others.

Wow… words cannot begin to describe how amazing this hotel and the staff has been for me and my husband. We are on the first day of the first leg of our honeymoon and I already regret that we will be leaving the Cotton House in 4 days. The managers and staff have shown us the most incredible customer service I’ve ever experienced and I’ve stayed in really nice hotels back home in the US. They did so many personal touches to make us feel so special once they found out we were honeymooning that I am totally blown away. The hotel is picturesque but it’s the people that set it above anything else I’ve ever experienced. Thank you so much and we can’t wait to return in the future!

Hands down — best hotel we have ever stayed at! The entire staff was AMAZING. The hotel is so relaxing, yet still fun and upbeat. Our room was small, but perfect. The breakfast in the restaurant was always phenomenal. We were greeted with champagne every time we were in the lobby area. We had clothes sent out to be cleaned and they smelled SO GOOD, we almost had them wash everything — like we need to know what they use — we still dream about that scent. The staff really made our stay unforgettable — they were wonderful! Reyes was our absolute favorite. He went above and beyond on everything for us — helping us with cabs — literally running down the block to get us one quickly, giving us tips on what to do and see around the city and just always making sure we had everything we needed and more!

I was only in a theatrical performance, in the library room. After very nicely they showed us a suite and we were able to walk around the entire building. Very nice and well restored the marquetry of beautiful ceilings and doors. The decoration of Lazarus is special, to my taste the lamps are too large.

Explendido Place, I love it. It is elegantly quiet, exquisite service, excellent service staff, affectionate friendly sympathetic, and very eager to work and you feel comfortable and pampered all the time. I have gone several times with friends to dine and have a drink and the time is short of how comfortable you are.

The architecture and its beautiful restoration of this palace make this hotel a cosy place to spend a few days in Barcelona. Good kitchen with menu at noon.

Perfect location, central to many of Barcelona's attractions. The rooms are clean, modern, and polished. Service was excellent, very helpful concierge and front desk. Beds are very comfortable, the shower is also superb. The building has history and is wonderfully decorated. Highly recommend this hotel, my experience was extremely positive.

This is a wonderful place very boutique, great history very relaxing environment. The location to the center of Barcelona is outstanding easy 5 minute walk. The food was excellent but pricey, but many good restaurants close by. The rooms were very nicely done with great bathrooms and showers. Be sure to ask for the tour when you sign in or you will miss the history and the library. Great bar.

Second time staying at the Property and it was even better then the first. From the greeting by the Doorman, to the exception check-in staff to the wonderful note left in the room by the manager the hotel is top notch. The restaurant and bar servers could not have been nicer and the hotel is just an exceptional piece of architecture. My only disappointment was that Jonathan the bartender was on holiday and I did not get to see him. The service I received from the intern Bartender from Switzerland on Saturday and the amazing bartender and server on Friday were second to non. I am a life time Platinum Marriott member, it would be hard to find a better experience while traveling. Thank you Cotton House Staff for a wonderful visit.

An old mansion turned into a modern hotel. Pricey but a class apart. They have Spain's tallest suspended staircase which is a marvel. Overall good.

A beautiful hotel with a fascinating history. The staff was very friendly, answered questions, made suggestions… We ate dinner on the lovely terrace, had drinks in the exquisite library, and breakfast in the dining room. The breakfast buffet was very good; we didn't order from the menu. The food AND drink service was uniformly a little slow, but we were on vacation, so it didn't matter very much. I attribute that to a more leisurely pace of life… hard to fault! My room was on the front, overlooking the busy street, yet had very little noise. The linens were fabulous, as was the shower. When you walk into the lobby, there's the most wonderful smell and it continues through the hotel into the room. I would absolutely recommend the Cotton House Hotel!

The building and environment are very, very nice and the location is also good (read one review that thought the Gran Via was isolated) — mid way between everything — and walkable. HOWEVER — the service is VERY inconsistent. We had a poor arrival/check-in, excellent concierge, but the bar and restaurant were all over the place — from fast and personal to slow and impersonal. Our room was poorly serviced one evening. /excellent the next. The A/C cut off after an hour or so and the room got way too warm through the night. IT SEEMS THEY HAVEN't been able to figure out what service level to give and the staff seemed poorly supervised (didn't see a single member of management — or anyone identifiable as management). Finally — €31 for buffet breakfast — ridiculous guys — get a grip! We will have to really think hard about whether to use this hotel next time.

Wonderful old historic home/office converted to a 5 Star hotel. Small but nice rooms (ask for floors 1-3, ceilings are much higher), great roof terrace for dinning and drinks. Oh and the staff, really helpful and nice!

Outside of a delay in my room being ready, they ultimately made it right and dazzled me with service. I would suggest going with the bigger room… which is what they ended up getting me and it was great. Good location, you can walk pretty much anywhere with a few exceptions. P. S. Go have morning coffee outside on their patio, it taste great and its very peaceful.

A fantastic stay! Thank you to all! This beautiful boutique hotel was exactly what we required for a weekend getaway. It was featured on the Barcelona Coolmapp app and we thought we would visit last minute. Everything was perfect. We will return again!

Excellent hotel within walking distance of the historic center. There are plenty of restaurants and metro stop nearby. The hotel is located in a historic building, which is also very interesting, with many common spaces. The rooms are large with extremely comfortable beds. From the upper floors there is a very nice view of the city. We had breakfast included, which although continental was excellent with a great selection of dishes.

Very nice property in a renovated historic building. Boutique Marriott brand with 83 rooms. Rooms are well appointed and the whole hotel has a very nice cotton theme decoration throughout. We needed a few things during our stay, the staff was friendly and committed to helping us with whatever we needed. One night we requested a courtesy item from the front desk, and since they didn't have any they decided to send someone to get it for us at no cost. If we visit Barcelona again, we'd love to stay here again.

Lovely boutique hotel with a storied past. The restaurant and bar has decent cocktails. Pool on the roof is not heated, so it may be cold certain times of the year.

The decor is very nice and cozy, but it is amazing to ask for some olives and they say they don't have it. For the appetizer only offer a potato chips, yes, with aroma of truffle …
I suggest you improve the menu for the appetizer with a good selection of olives, anchovies, dried fruits of quality and other products that invite you to enjoy that wonderful terrace.

This was honestly one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The staff was amazing, the drinks at the bar were great, the rooms were clean and spacious, and I felt welcomed and amazed throughout the hotel. The staff were the highlight of the stay; they helped me do everything I need to from carrying luggage to hailing a cab and they did it with a smile on their face. A fantastic stay.

Besides the hotel — that is amazing and very well decored — it's a good place for a brunch, coffee or dinner. The restaurant has very good staff, and a pleasant terrace, whereyou can be quiet under the sun drinking your coffee. Go see the library too, very cosy place.

We ate in the hotel restaurant, Batuar. Ask for the daily menu and the dishes were exquisite, the seconds not we liked it so much. The most spectacular is the place itself. The hotel is lovely, have an amazing terrace. We were served a few cocktails very diverse and curious, nice.

Surprise that being in the center of the city within the atmosphere is very relaxed and exquisite. The terrace of the restaurant is fantastic, and the staff is wonderful. Without a doubt, a great hotel to recommend and enjoy.

The service was excellent, and the hotel felt very modern and comfortable but with unique touches and it's own style. The beds were so comfy we didn't want to leave. Love it here! Great atmosphere in the hotel, the first floor with the bar and library is especially a unique experience. It is a great feeling to have a drink in that professionally designed interior or stand on the balcony and watch the buzzing and at the same time quiet street. The ONLY but BIG enough let down is that courtyard view in the booking means facing a firewall that is literally one meter away from the window. In this pricerange you don't expect such cheap lies from the management. I could only feel sorry for the staff when they had to apologise several times to me and could not give a free upgrade (not even when there were rooms available) but lousy free drinks voucher at the bar.

It has been opened for just a couple of week. Ok, the place is beautiful. The integration of original features and modern elements is a great achievement as it is the restoration work but I'm getting a bit bored with Lazaro's (interior designer) style. I use to love it but not anymore. How many places in Barcelona have his signature? The list is getting very long. A couple of problems with the service but the sort of thing that one can expect from a new place. They dealt with the situation fairly well. Looking forward to enjoying the massive and lovely terrace in the summer. The cocktails are amazing.
