Being here at the start of the covid-19 lockdown was a daunting situation, but the staff have looked after us amazingly and kept us informed especially Monica who has been very attentive and has gone above and beyond to keep us safe. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful hotel when the all clear has been given as it’s a central base to see the city. Well done all keep up the good work thank you.

We had an fantastic stay, there was a mix up on pricing but was resolved immediately and professionally. All the staff were friendly and informative. Upgraded us to a one bedroom suite that was huge. Also a great bathroom with a rain shower that was amazing. Central location close to most of the tourist sites. Highly recommend!

This is an older hotel but well maintained and clean. It’s perfectly placed in the downtown Cora, near local attractions, shopping, restaurants and areas to explore.

Had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel in a central location.

Great view at the roof top. Fast check in and check out. Attentive, friendly, and very helpful staff. Great shopping close by. Great restaurants on Catalunya Street. Points of interest nearby. 3minutes to metro stations and buses. Everything within walking distance. Highly recommend. ❤❤❤❤❤

Beautiful hotel with a glamorous staircase. One thing I didn’t like was the inability to control the temperature in our room. It was solidly set at 21 degrees. When we asked about how to adjust it — we were told there was no way to make it warmer.

Old Style hotel in the centre of Barcelona, rooms are very old fashioned however bathrooms have been upgraded. Convenient price and location, service could be improved.

Our room on the first floor was very noisy with noise from floor above and room next door. Also be aware the hotel is situated above a large metro and trains can also be heard. One night of our stay we had loud pump and water noises after a thunderstorm. Thought we may be flooded from the shower! But all was ok. Apart from this, hotel is perfectly situated and we had a wonderful time!

My husband and I stayed in this hotel in August 2018. We did have a lovely holiday but one of my lipsticks had gone missing. I checked all of my bags but thought it would turn up, then one of my dresses went missing. I searched the whole room but it had disappeared from the room, it was hung in the wardrobe, how would it go missing? I informed the staff once we returned home and their response is that it hasn’t been found or it isn’t in the laundry? It won’t be in laundry because it was hung up in the wardrobe! So where is my dress and lipstick?. This has really upset me, the lack of response and concern at this happening to paying guests, when obviously someone is stealing from the rooms! The dress was new and the lipstick was a gift from my daughter, I take care of my things and appreciate what my hard earned money can buy so to have these taken and no regard from the hotel is disgusting and the knowledge someone is looking around our things when we are not there! They are now not responding to my e mails and do not care about what goes on after guests have paid and left. I am not letting this matter drop, how many other times has this happened to others here I wonder?.

Really elegant hotel. Stayed in the Beatles suite which was really nice. Its in a nice location. Didnt get to stay long but will stay here again.

Unfortunately on arrival took note of scaffolding all over the building. We couldn't check in as room not ready and I understand that but when we did check in at 2.45 and went to our room that's when I became alarmed. There was jack hammering, constant hammering very close to our room. My husband rang reception to find out what time they start in the morning to be told 10am but they work till 6. We showered and then went out because the noise was ridiculous. If reception staff had told us that we would have experienced this we might have thought twice about staying. When we returned there was a letter from management to say water would be cut off at 11am through to 1pm. That didn't impact us as we were out of room by 10.30. It would have been nice to see pool and rooftop bar but all closed due to renovations. That was one of the reasons I booked here. Rest of stay was quiet. Can't comment about restaurants because we didn't eat here as tried to be out all day. I can only comment on our stay so would not recommend to friends and family due to not being told about noise of renovations.

Management and staff attains to all levels of guest service. Deputy Manager Javier Thomas go beyond to make us happy during our short 2 nights in Barcelona. He takes big proud of his family owned and operated property. Great location for all levels of attractions. 4 star hotel with 5 star service.

I stayed here for 5 days while in barcelona, Spain it was wonderful! It is very centrally located so you can walk everywhere. OR even hop on the public transportation. The interior is beautiful, the beds we're comfortable and the rooms were clean and spacious.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location. The rooms are adequate but nothing special: so-so amenities, no way to see which TV channels are available without scrolling through them one by one, showers leak onto bathroom floor, and hot water takes forever to get hot. Breakfast doesn't compare with the other places we've stayed during two different tours of Spain.

Excellent staff and service! On the Gran Via one block from Las Ramblas. Subway stop directly across the street. Great location for walking around Barcelona!

Comfortable and friendly workers. They are things to thank especially when you come from outside and you are a little lost because you do not know the city. We stayed when we went to a family wedding but when we get back already on holiday we will repeat. Highly recommended.

Everyone here is so friendly and helpful! The breakfast, especially the eggs and Iberico jamon is delicious. Our room was so comfortable, the bed very comfortable, the bath (& shower! ) exceptional! The location, right in the middle of everything, is very convenient.

Big shame management, working with uber-a company that only looks for the interest of its own, which does not respect neither laws nor rules and that it only seeks to plunge this country as it has done with others. To not advisable or uber or this hotel, I recommend other hotels and for the transportation recomindo the taxi, which is a legal service and regulated as others.

Bad exepriencia, bad treatment, call Uber to charge 80 euros to the airport, while there are taxis at the bus stop so cheap, only 30 euros to the airport. Abusooo. I would not recommend it to nadi.

It is pitiful that a hotel that was magnificent not notify their customers that the hotel is in the works and is covered by an advertising poster, but cualdo advertising is a company that teabaja illegally, and this can translate into discomfort for sun customers.

Lousy care and treatment by staff of this alleged 4 star hotel. To begin with were evil our booking and we were assigned a room with a single bed. When you arrive and do the check-in we were waiting for a long time, even taking into account that we had been on the streets all the day by making time, given that the check in it was at 16 hs. The staff had a haughty and disinterested to change the room and finally we hartamos and we had to make a reservation at another hotel at the time. It is the typical traditional hotel with the buttons, which take too long to meet the guests.

The hotel is decent but by no means spectacular. Its proximity to the center is its best feature. The construction work going on during our stay did not help matters. Further, our room was facing the courtyard with minimal air circulation. This was a problem since the hotel shut off the central a/c during our stay. Needless to say, the inability to regulate the ambient room temperature made the stay less enjoyable.

Incredibly lively and centrally-located hotel for anyone who wants to be in the heart of Barcelona. El Avenida Palace, in addition to its rich historical presence in Barcelona, operates with the fundamental principles of providing 5-star service to every hotel guest. A couple other reasons I'll be coming back are: 1. Even the standard room has luxurious shower amenities from Rituals along with a powerful rainfall shower system in the beautifully remodeled bathroom. 2. This is one of the cleanest dog-friendly (up to 5kg) hotels in the entire city that does not charge ridiculous fees. As a frequent traveler with a pet — this is like finding a rare diamond!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and rooms are extremely clean. Varied breakfast, fresh fruit, delicious cheeses, walnuts and raspberries which are delicious delicatessen, juices and American coffee. The very bad thing is that the view to the street is blocked by a blanket by repair and the worst thing is that they charge supplement for renting those rooms. There is noise constantly; Even at night and there is no natural ventilation. And the attention in the counter is very ambivalent, for the moment they serve you very well and suddenly contemptuously. Those who take a great greeting is the young hat, attentive, helpful, gives very good suggestions and the Lady of the breakfast as friendly and always very well arranged both with a big smile. For the rest, I do not advise to visit him at the moment. You don't enjoy it.

The hotel is very classically furnished. Here, if you will, time has stopped. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are large, clean and furnished in a classic style. Bathrooms modern but yet again classic. No one needs to do without Wi-Fi. Breakfast is very good. The concierge meets all your needs.

Excellent Although it was to be expected for the price (4000 thousand $AR in March the room for 3 people), the breakfast is the most complete I saw so far, excellent attention, large and separate rooms with doors, perhaps could improve the TV were LCD are something Girls, the location is unbeatable at the turn of Plaza Catalunya.

Good hotel. Spacious rooms and clean. Lifts are slow and only one working which wasn't great but centrally positioned.

Beautiful and clean rooms. Incredibly helpful staff. They helped us in the middle of the night get our 10month old son to the hospital. They called the hospitals ahead of time to know we were coming as well as having a few options in case our insurance didn't cover one of the locations. Could not thank them enough for their help that stressful night!

Amazing Hotel, the best I've ever been to. Very spacious rooms, first class bathroom, excellent breakfast (if you don't have it booked in advance it is quite expensive, about 15 euros per person). The beds are good, out there not the same level as the rest of the hotel; The only thing not so good. The Wi-Fi signal is fine too.

A classy hotel. It does need some suite little improvement (minor) but suites are great non the less. The appearance its superb and has such a classic look you feel uou are in Versailles or the titanic movie set. Great terrace! I got the pictures to prove it. Awesome views from there. Bar-restaurant is awesome the breakfast outstanding overall one of the best hotels I've been in. The staff was great. What a friendly hotel. I absolutely loved it. Great location one block away from Plaza Catalunya, the center of turism. All the hop on hop offs start there, la rambla, walking distance to the Batllo house and to the Pedrera. Great restaurants all over the area. Near the beach, short taxi ride, the cathedral is walking distance so is the Museo Picazzo. Give this Hotel a try. Did I mention the Beatles stayed here back in the day? Yeap, that kind of Hotel…

The location and the lobby might be 5-star, but everything else about this hotel is 3-star or lower. We had a horrible check-in experience. The best "welcome drink" is beer in a small glass of wine. Standard rooms are dilapidated (though bathrooms are nice). Housekeeping enters your room after just one knock in under a second, not giving you a chance to even say NO! Room service costs €5 no matter what you order, so you have to go to the restaurant if you want ice or water. Oh, and you only get one bottle of complementary water no matter how long you stay.

Very nice and friendly Hotel, great service and courtesy of the staff. The only fault is related to the noise of the rooms: although they are quite quiet they are not well soundproofed and you hear the hallway noises quite clearly. It is certainly not dependent on the hotel, but the proximity of the subway is felt with some vibration even during the night.

Suite 1001 is excellent, very good breakfast, optimal location. Staff very friendly and courteous.

Four-star hotel with a gift. The only star worth the central location for the rest is all to forget. After one day we were forced to change rooms with a surcharge of 30 euro/day. To avoid, the structure is completely affected by the half century of history. A four star without slippers, still the metal key and no grip near the bed. Give me a Canadian!

We had inside room and its one of the quietest hotels that I ever stayed in. And I have travelled to over 40 countries. I selected for the central location and it so incredibly convenient. It was clean, friendly and for the price, the breakfast exceeded my expectations. But the hidden gem was the rooftop. I got some great shots of the Sagrada and other points if interest plus I enjoyed a nice drink up there. I would definitely stay here again.

Great little place in the heart of Barcelona for a very good price. I went here in February and we stayed for around $100 US. Close to the Subway station and a lots of local shopping in the area. The view from the top was decent, and there was a pool as well for the summer months.

Pictures are misleading. The hotel is right on top of the metro so every time a train goes by, your windows tremor. Rooms are old and have a stale smell. The bathroom is actually ok. Major problems for me: 1. No hot water, the water is lukewarm. I've never stayed in a hotel with hot water problem so this really annoys me. 2. Internet is extremely slow to the point that it has trouble loading Google Map. I definitely will NOT stay with this hotel again and will not recommend anyone to stay there. I've been to Barcelona at least 6 times and this is the worst hotel stay experience I've had.

I recently stayed here in December. It was the best stay. Staff very courteous! We returned 3 times during our trip… each time was great. Rooms are cherry wood everywhere. Gorgeous! The staff held our luggage when we journeyed to Madrid. Room and bathroims were clean and beautiful… Beds comfortable and luxurious… You must visit! Perfect location!

The review I just read seems incredibly neurotic. If someone needs to wear something on their feet the entire stay to avoid infection, perhaps they should be staying in a mental ward instead of a hotel. This hotel is nice. Clean rooms, friendly staff, centrally located. All you need for a pleasant stay.

This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in many years. We had two rooms. The first room smelt like bleach and was very dirty. The chairs were broken and very disgusting. The second room seemed promising until a very strong sewage smell came through and did not leave. This hotel was outdated, dirty, and generally disgusting. The beds are from 1920 and are as hard as a granite countertop. The carpet is disgusting and stained all over. I recommend keeping something on your feet the entire time or risk getting infected. The one chair that did have a usable cushion on it had bugs all over and bit up my legs. The air conditioning in the rooms did not work at all and blew out warm smelly air. This hotel reminded me of an old motel 6 mixed with a 1950 horror movie. Stay anywhere else. This is not a place to stay in Barcelona. There are hostels that are MUCH nicer than this hotel for 16-30 euros per night.

We have been in the hotel since 5/3 till 11/3 we had a room delux, the service was excelente, the hotel is very clean, the location is fantastic. we recomend to every one to go to this hotel in the next visit in barcelona.

The terrace on The Top is the sky to pieces. Recently opened following the trend of quality hotels to open their terraces to non-guests, giving birth to new spaces in which to enjoy the city and ties of union residents and newcomers. Built like a nest in the roof of the Hotel Avenida Palace, Gran Via, between Paseo de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya, offers bird's eye views on one of the most privileged areas and visited Barcelona. The terrace is divided into several areas and heights which allows views from different angles, in addition to that provides a little more privacy to those that are found in each of them.

The hotel is unfortunately in every aspect from yesterday. The rooms are small and dark. The window extends into a courtyard and makes bad mood. The rooms seem like an inside cabin on a cruise ship. A no-go for a tall-city like Barcelona. Better is a modern hotel looks with plenty of light and openness. The furniture is dark and heavy.

Someone has noticed that the map does not correspond with the address of the hotel. Often failed.

I'm not sure how this hotel is generating so many positive reviews. We come to spain about 2x/year and have stayed in so many incredible hotels. This is not one of them. The rooms are not classic, they are just old. It is scary to walk around on the carpeting in bare feet. Other than flat screen tv's in the rooms nothing is updated. We were not greeted in a friendly manner. And my ultimate gross-out: I went to have a water from the mini-bar and as I brought the bottle to my lips I realized it had already been opened and drunk from. Same with a can of pringles.

We stayed in this hotel in dec 2007. We found the room to be very comfortable with adequate facilities. The staff were helpful with the majority speaking english. The location could not be better with only 2 minutes walk to placa de catalunya, the hub of Barcelona, and La Ramblas.
