It doesn't take you to get five promises. Clean, breakfast is good and there is a choice. Five-star location. View from the room window to the apartment building. It's not bad for tourists.

This hotel supposed to be 4 star it needs a bit of work done to it to bring up to 4 star. It's in a handy spot rooms are clean bathrooms need a bit of work was grand for one night.

Reception is beautiful. But everything else isnt 4 star worthy. The room was cold becaise of the airco and we couldnt heat it up also called to check.

Great location, but the hotel is not modern. Very slow elevator for 7 floors, very low soundproofing, and bathroom too humid.

It's a hoax to say it's a 4-star hotel. The bad state of maintenance of the building, the permanent smell of sewers in the rooms. No desire to continue writing, only some of the good attention deserves the star.

Nice clean and staff very helpful. However noise from room next noise heard throughout night. Good location. Never use the restaurant.

We recently stayed here on a short break. Hotel is set in the perfect locality for walking to places and also the ooen top bus tour pick up point. Beds were very comfortable and clean room everyday. Breakfast was very nice and fresh. Staff welcoming. A pleasure to stay here!

Location is great, walking distance from so many good things. Great cafes on your doorstep as well. The room we had was tiny and a little rough around the edges but served it's purpose. Bizarly the shower was actually a good size. Staff were always friendly. Size of room is the main reason we have to stick at 3 stars.

Hotel with excellent location in the heart of Barcelona. Modernist air building in accordance with the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Comfortable and constantly refurbished rooms.
Good detail to be able to take your coffee in hand and go out to stroll the city.

Very noisy. You could hear everything. The location is very central. The facilities are no big deal. It should be more economical.

The perfect hotel. An amazing view over Barcelona from the decked balcony on the 7th floor. The service is perfect, clean rooms, bath, shower. A buffet breakfast that will keep you going all day. The room heating works perfectly (it was only 11℃ when we visited Barcelona). The best hotel Wi-Fi we've had! Honestly we couldn't fault this hotel. The central city location is brilliant and it is so peaceful which surprised us given its surroundings. We will stay here again in the future.

Great location with pretty good views from my room balcony. The gym was horribly small & not well equipped.

The suture is dated but in a great location had a room with a view of Barcelona it would take a greater cleanliness.

The location is great! U couldn't have asked for a better location. It is right in the heart of downtown and is surrounded by shops and dining. The staff is friendly and attentive. Wifi is free and strong fast signal. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this property.

Right in the centre of the city. 5 minute walk to La Ramblas. Great value for money. Room was a little small but served it's purpose.

Super central location, nice rooms, and good service.

Let me start out with the bad. There is no iron. If you like to iron your clothe, there is none here. Other than that the place is perfect for me. It's in a prime location near everything. If not, the metro is near by which you can take to other places. The customer service here is excellent, the room is nice. The only downside for me is that it there is no iron. Other than that, I personally love the place. I would definitely come back and stay here. Highly recommend this place. Also, I forgot to mention affordable as well.

Brilliant location right in the heart of Barcalona's gothic quarter Plenty to do, see and lots of bars and restaurants in close proximity. A good place to crash if you are sightseeing (or partying the night away). Staff are really friendly and speak a few different languages. Room was a bit cramped but is the first Spanish hotel I have stayed at were tea and coffee making facilities are in the room. We found it quite load at night.

Worst hotel experience ever, to avoid like the plague. Dishonest and horrible service — same day cancellation! This hotel is absolutely horrible and must be avoided. They scam clients and cancel rooms THE DAY OF check in. After reserving 4 rooms (we arrived one day after another), the rooms reserved on the second day were CANCELLED the same day we were supposed to check in. I received an email at 12pm on check in day indicating that our credit card was not working – even though the 1st room passed just fine on the same exact credit card. 3 minutes later, I get an email from them saying our rooms are cancelled! And we were already in Barcelona! When we spoke to them and the booking site, we quickly realized they had actually overbooked their rooms and made an excuse to deny us our reservation. They then tried to say because we didn’t arrive before 6pm, they had the right to cancel the booking – even though that is illegal. The hotel was totally unapologetic and didn’t even help us find another stay — it was a horrible experience. SO I was pressured to come in at 5pm to check in with my physical credit card. In the end, I am completely appalled at this type of treatment and outright dishonesty. Especially for a four star hotel where the nightly rates are 200+ €. They completely ruined our trip to Spain and unfortunately we have a bitter taste in our mouths from this incident. DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL to avoid all charges and cancellations.

Goes into too much noise from the street if you have an outside room window not isolated anything.

Location is good about a couple minutes walk to the gothic quarter, waited about 15 minutes because nobody was at the desk to check us in, finally got to the room and it was boiling hot, the air con didn't work so had to open the french doors which was facing the street, so I had two options either sleep in a sauna or sleep with hearing traffic and drunk people all night, French doors open it was! The Wi-Fi is shockingly slow and at times didn't connect, the rooms were fairly clean and the service is 'okay' it definitely isn't a 4 star as they advertise, maybe a 2.95 as giving it a 3 star may be pushing it… But would I stay here again… HELL NO!

I stayed at the Ilunion Almirante for two nights (1-3 March 2016) and to be honest, IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, WHEN IT COMES TO HOTEL STAYING! On March 2 when I come back to my room after a working day, I realize that my sunglasses were stolen. I immediately contacted the reception and explained the situation to Victor Sainz (the recepcionist at the time) who told me that the hotel director wasn´t in the premises. Nor the director or any other staff was available to solve the problem. I was told by the receptionist to send an email to the director. Obviously I didn´t accept his strange suggestion and asked for an official complaint form, which I immediately completed. Since there was no willingness from the Hotel to have this situation resolved, I decided to go Barcelona Police Station and presented a formal complaint. Soon after the formal complaint, two police officials went to the hotel and confirmed that my room wasn´t damage, and that there no signs of forced entry! Meaning that, whoever took the glasses had to be from the Hotel, who had access to the rooms! The day after this occurrence, I went to the reception to do the check-out, and again, ask if I could speak to the hotel director. For my surprise (please note that I was the customer), I was treated really badly by the receptionist. She told me that I should have come downstairs earlier to talk with the director, and that I had to pay the tourist taxes before been “allowed” to speak to him!

Basic and clean rooms at a reasonable price in a fantastic location for attractions and transport.

Ok place, but definitely not a 4 star hotel. Pictures are definitely misleading. Not a bad hotel and the location is great, just expect a 2-3 star hotel.

Need. A lot of maintenance.

I travel a lot and stayed in many hotels, this is not a 4 star hotel, has many details to improve, the decoration of the reception as the hall is correct, but decreases when you climb up the elevator, I was on the 2nd floor, just out of the elevator you see a door to the office on the left hand side, with the frame damaged, and the paint is in a poor state, once inside the room, I was in the 205, I do not taste, decoration is very sober and simple, wooden doors of very poor quality, badly varnished, wooden frames of bathroom door in poor condition, beds very simple, not attributable to a 4 star hotel, bed headboard very simple also, the small TV without high performance. At night, you hear every noise from the hallway, as well as the closing of the doors of the rooms continguas. Points, room size and equipment of the bathroom as well as accessories higuiene staff. Free water in the mini bar, care nice. By comparison, I spent these months in other 4 star hotels, and this has been the worst. I hope that the direcección of hotel to take action, and take care of the details to provide the service of a 4 star hotel, I emphasize aspects to improve, such as decoration of rooms, equipment, beds, and themes of soundproofing.

I do not know the yardstick of the stars, but I'm sure that deserves more than 3 stars. Qualified personnel but it is not enough for the 4 star rating.

The Hotel is very comfortable and modern in the heart of the Gothic quarter of Barcelona. The location was excellent, I loved it because it had all close, many places for a drink nearby. The standard room is very spacious and decoration gives an atmosphere of tranquility very optimal for rest.

I would not even give this hotel a star! We had a room facing the quiet. That was a big mistake! It has stunk after gulli, the prospect was removed 30 cm from our bedroom window. A concrete wall of another building about 20 meters high. Day light in the room is unfortunately absent! All loose or broken inventory. To the room to enter, you must close the door because you otherwise have to go over the bed. The mattress was the horror! It noted the springs if one has located on it. For these reasons we have searched a new hotel for a night, and are checked directly at this here. This hotel is closed! Or removed all of its stars.

Nice hotel in the Centre. Without great luxury, but with everything you need. Simple and modern decoration. Friendly staff and willing at all times to solve questions and problems.

The Hotel standard is definitely NOT as described on the web page. It is rated as a 4 star hotel? Hard to believe as the standard of rooms are between 1 and 2 i. E. Broken hair dryer and bending door on the toilet also the hot water is unreliable. The room was VERY small with no window. The cleaning service was bad as they didn´t change the bed sheets every day. Just put the old ones which were dirty back on. The air condition was down for 18 hours and no attendance was called for repair and we suffered with 24 degrees during the night. Internet connection is also poor. They gym aircondition is in-operative/broken as well as the treadmill and they were not doing anything about it! All in all a very bad hotel which does not live up to the standard of a 4 star hotel and can NOT be recommended for anybody.

Definitely not a four star hotel, more like a two star. The location is excellent, but the amenities are not very good. The bed is fairly uncomfortable, and some parts of the room seemed to be lacking good maintenance (the towel bar coming off of the vanity for example). The room AC was basically non-functional (although the lobby was cold) and the Wi-Fi was slow. The staff was friendly, but I would definitely not stay here again.

Very small rooms, which look run down and dirty. View to the street is good, but loud. The other rooms with no street view don't have any daylight and only view on the air conditioning machines. Tv program runs poorly, illumination in the bathroom is horrible. Beds are uncomfortable with thin plaids. The whole hotel is very clairaudient, you can hear every footstep. Definitely not recommendable, except for the central location.

I agree with what others have already written. It's not a 4 star, probably a 3. The staff is helpful and friendly. The facility would need a renovation. We were given a room on the main street and despite the heavy traffic we did not have any noise issues. The room and bathroom though were clean. It is to be said that the hotel offers cheap rates when compared to other facilities in the same area. It is in a great location, a stone's throw from everything Barcelona offers. I personally recommend it. Before I left I was going to cancel the room after reading the reviews, but then I let it go, and I have to say I did well. If you don't have any special needs, I recommend it. P. S. For breakfast, close to the hotel there are a myriad of bars at moderate prices…

I got screwed, I thought was getting a good deal on last minute com. Turns out I overpaid by 100 euro. Never again.

Internet free, very well located, staff very friendly and rooms very breaded.

If you are american and expecting a 4 or 5 star hotel, you will be very disappointed. The location is what you are paying for. The room was noisy and the beds very uncomfortable. The hallways have NO carpet and you hear every suitcase and footstep and conversation that comes about throughout the night. If you are lucky enough to get one of the few non smoking rooms in the back it is helpful.
