Center across from the Catherdral of Bacelona. It is very beautidul. Great rooftop veiws and fantastic services. Would and will return to stay. Very easy to get to anywhere in Barcelona. Trains, buses and cabs. 5 stars out of 5.

We arrived from the states around 11 am. The wonderful staff moved our rooms around so we could check in early. Plus gave us a view of the gothic cathedral! The room is comfortable, updated just beautiful! We are so glad we chose this amazing hotel for our Barcelona vacation. 10 stars. Highly recommend!

Friendly sraff, amazing location. Only recommendatuon is replenish the coffee and tea daily and not make it a surge charge.

Workers were very friendly, hitel extremely clean. The ambiance is authentic and in the center of the action.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location for a relaxing visit. I'm here at a time of national closure due to Covid 19 and the staff have been excellent. I would recommend this hotel 100% and we look forward to our next visit.

Beautiful hotel. Extremely friendly staff. Housekeeping staff was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant staff was always warm and inviting, Great food too. Front desk always had a smile. Terrific location. We had a wonderful time here.

Good rooftop bar. They will soon open a nearby smaller hotel — the Hotel Semi Colon.

Wonderful Staff! Can’t say enough good things about the staff-kind, helpful, very friendly and approachable. The room was very clean, nicely appointed. The bathroom was well stocked with amenities, great shower pressure. And a wonderful view of the Cathedral from the rooftop terrace, couldn’t have asked for anything to be any better.

Location location location. Great hotel in a splendid area. This evening children are playing with bubbles in front of the cathedral while a young man is singing in the square. No shortage of restaurants and shopping. Wonderful hotel.

Very good location right in the heart of historic Barcelona. Minutes walk to bars restaurants shops and places of interest. The hotel its self was very comfortable clean and friendly helpful staff.

The staff was amazingly warm & helpful. They held my bags because I arrived before check-in then they took everything up for me as I returned much later in the evening. After about 30 minutes they checked in to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I ordered room service one night & that was another good experience. The roof top terrace is lovely & the staff again were fantastic! The room & bathroom was large, very nice & updated. I can't wait to return!

Fantastic location, very professional and helpful staff. The superior triple room is very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is good. Other services — Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, television, coffee machine, minibar — are all great too. Highly recommended.

When we first arrived we felt like we were looked down on a little, as we possibly weren't the hotels usual clientele however once we confirmed our reservation the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was fabulous and the shower was the most spacious we have had to date with lovely luxury toiletries! The location was great and the views from our room were amazing. Would highly recommend a stay here when visiting Barcelona as this has to be up there as one of the best we have ever stayed in!

Very polite staff helped in everything. Well cleaned the room every day. The location is great. All the sights, subways and tour buses are within walking distance. We were in January. Ideal for the cold season when the sea is not a priority, as the beach would be a long way off. Although if your main task is to visit museums, then this Hotel will be good in the summer.

The hotel is located across from the Barcelona Cathedral, a wonderful older area of the city chock full of restaurants and shops. The 7th floor terrace overlooks the square; the bar serves tapas and sandwiches. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they made us feel like valued guests. I recommend this hotel highly.

A wonderful hotel right in the heart of the Gothic area in Barcelona. This was our first time in Europe and this hotel was located perfectly to shopping, eating and site seeing. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. A King size bed for my husband and I and a roll-a-way bed for our son. Loved having the large balcony window open to listen to the various entertainers in the square in front of the Barcelona Cathedral. We only ate dinner one night at the Hotel restaurant and it was very nice. Hard to compare when there are so many unbelievable restaurants to dine at in the area. Will DEFINITELY come back and stay at the Hotel Colon!

Very nice room, the view is perfect, and the location exceptional.
On the other hand, a little disappointed with the spa and the parking (I did not expect it to be paid and especially a little expensive…)

The first thing you notice about Hotel Colon, and possibly the reason you are there, is the beautiful location directly across from Barcelona Cathedral. In the streets I heard local music artists who were quite talented. I especially enjoyed the Spanish guitar musicians. There are many shops right by the hotel and it is easy to get around by taxi. The hotel itself has a quiet Old World charm of its own while at the same time being thoroughly modern and comfortable. The views from the windows are incredible and peaceful. I found my room here to be beautiful, comfortable, clean, and all at a fair price. It was refreshing to come back to the hotel and find sweet luxuries such as a towel warmer, warm heavy terry cloth spa robes, and slippers. The bathtub is large enough that you will want to relax in a bubble bath. The beds are comfortable. There are good restaurants in and around the hotel. The staff at the hotel are welcoming and happy to help you with every detail whether it is menu choices, getting luggage to your room quickly, or making sure your airport transfers are on time. Make sure you take time to go out by the Barcelona Cathedral and soak up the culture there along with the afternoon sun.

Went in December for Christmas market which was right outside the hotel. Colon hotel was comfortable and peaceful would go back to this hotel again if I went back to barcelona.

Right in front of the Catedral de Barcelona. Nice location with decent restaurants around the area. 30 min. Walk from Sagrada Familia. Very friendly staff and nice rooms.

I have never stayed here, but I usually go to their bar cafeteria. Alone or with friends. I mean the inside, not the outdoor terrace. It is very cozy and I love its classic and elegant decor. I feel very comfortable, calm and at the same time accompanied. Good music at a volume that doesn't bother at all.

Reception staff unfriendly, I don't know if I went on bad day or is usual, little empathy, otherwise OK. People with disabilities a little limited. Good location for the city centre.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Colon for our Honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The breakfast was a wonderful way to start every day (we still rave about it to this day). The hotel is conveniently located in the Gothic area. We walked almost everywhere in Barcelona and it seemed like Hotel Colon was central to it all. We stayed in October and there was also a street food festival happening right outside of our hotel. It was a great way to enjoy some local Spanish food. …And Our room was gorgeous! That view of the cathedral. Wow! We spent the last evening of our honeymoon having dinner on the panoramic terrace and enjoying the live street music from down below. It was truly magical! The staff was attentive, helpful, and very sweet. We know we will be back in Barcelona some day and will be looking forward to staying at the Hotel Colon again.

Very good for it's price. Clean and spacious rooms. It's just a walk away from the main landmarks of Barcelona (expect Sagrada Famiglia which is around 30 mins walk).

This hotel has the best location right next to the Cathedral of Barcelona. The Wellnescenter on the 7th floor has a breathtaking view.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Barri Gotic, Barcelona.
The staff is very helpful and friendly, the rooms are pretty, equipped with modern furniture and very clean.
For breakfast, the hotel offers a wide variety of dishes so that everybody will find something he likes.
The spa with the jacuzzi on the rooftop terrace is another highlight.
There is only one little drawback: the rooms are extremely clairaudient. You can hear the chambermaid cleaning the neighbours bathroom.
But except that, you can absolutely choose this hotel for your stay in Barcelona!

The highlight is the spa with Jacuzzi on the rooftop terrace! Really gorgeous.
Only small minus point: the rooms are extremely noisy. If the room lady cleans the bathroom next door in the morning, you can hear her scrubbing.
Apart from that, this hotel is absolutely recommended for a trip to Barcelona!

Stayed here for three nights during September 2017 with my husband and adult daughter. Our rooms were perfect on the first floor with small balconies overlooking the cathedral. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was perfect with hot and cold food, fresh crusty bread, variety of fruits, cold meats; cheeses and cereals. We ate in the hotel restaurant on our first evening, the menu for the set meal was adequate with several choices. The hotel is central for visiting many places of interest Barcelona has to offer. The staff were all amazing and so friendly, all the reception perseonnel, restaurant and domestic staff. I would recommend this hotel very highly.

Exquisite treatment in an atmosphere typical of a Hotel adapted to an old building and totally renovated.

We haven't left the hotel yet. However, I have to say that it was probably my favorite Hotel on our honeymoon. The hallways were updated and the bedrooms were really cute. They were a little bit larger than the average hotel room in Europe, but smaller than some others. The only complaint that I really have is how there was a festival going on and all the roads were closed to the hotel parking. We were never informed of this and ended up having to pay a 35 Euro parking off sit and having to drag our bags on the sidewalks full of people.

Hotel was very clean. Seemed to be newly renovated. Only issue was there was an event going on and we couldn't get to the parking garage for the hotel. The staff had no idea… Only reason for a 4 star. Great hotel otherwise!

Hotel is clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly, greeting you at every trip through reception. The rooftop spa and bar have fantastic views of the cathedral and the rest of the city. Rooms are a good size and recently refurbished (Aug 2017). We had a slight issue with a recently cleaned carpet smelling a bit like wet dog, the reception staff were incredibly apologetic and upgraded us to a room with a terrace as an apology. Highly recommend.

Great location and amazing views from the roof. Hotel overall is a bit out dated. It is slowly being done up but we stayed in rooms that were in need of new decor and a general update. Comfortable beds. The best thing about this hotel is its location, as we had plans most days we didn't spend alot of time in the hotel. Staff are nice and helpful.

It is a very nice hotel, our room was newly refurbished. Everything very clean and the staff very friendly.

The rooms are very spacious, but they feel like they are old. Beds are not the best, but would say they are fine. Overall I would say the quality of the actual hotel would be a high 2 star or low 3 star. The redeeming factor is the wonderful location and very nice staff. Right in the middle of town close to everything by taxi and a metro station not that far away. Staff proved to be really nice and helpful.

We were so pleasantly surprised when we (finally) arrived at the Hotel Colon — it's a an elegant old 1st class hotel! Perfectly situated in the old section of Barcelona, our gorgeous 5th floor room has a little balcony over looking the courtyard and the cathedral yet it's almost silent when we close the doors. The bed is large and luxurious and the jet tub felt grand after walking around the city all day. We opted for the buffet breakfast which is vast and sumptuous; if you go later in the morning, there's no need for lunch. The first night we arrived we ate supper at the hotel: after traveling Europe for two weeks I just wanted a burger — and it was delicious! The rooftop bar and spa is a perfect way to end your day. Buy wine at the market around the corner and bring it up!

You should update your decor. One thing is another ancient and classic.

Good value for money hotel, but don't expect anything special. Hotel is a bit outdated and beds are simple and short. Wifi (free) signal is very weak in some areas. Location is great: city center, close to museums, harbour and shopping areas. Therefore this hotel is good if you won't spend a lot of time in the room.

The location of this hotel is amazing! Literally steps away from the cathedral and all the life that happens around it. The staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet is delicious. The only downside was that our TV wasn't working completely but we didn't come to watch TV so it wasn't a big problem.

Great location in the Centre of Barcelona close to the night life but in a quiet area. Recommended.

On my experience, it was the coffee to the middle of the afternoon in his room, after a day of walking all over Barcelona chairs were comfortable as well as the atmosphere and the light of the living room to be able to recharge and relax for a while, the service of the waiters excelenta to the height of a hotel of its category, to be repeated.

Yesterday (09.09.2013) between this hotel and asked to use the services, but the receptionist a guy of my age more or less, I was denied for not being a customer of the hotel. My name is Rafa and I am also a receptionist. Work on the hotel Stella and Spa. I have NEVER denied anyone in to use the services of our hotel. 've been FATAL, "colleague".

In short: Apart from the location and the entrance there is nothing special or personal about the hotel to seperate it from a 3-star hotel. The staff dresses well but doesn't comply to the service required at this level. Staff was deficient and was at times even rude. I stayed at the Hotel Colon August 3rd-5th 2013. The Hotel Colon's interior was ok but outdated, especially in the rooms (mid-80! s style). All in all it was a bit used and luxury was absolutely limited. For instance, I ordered a room with view to the cathedral but had one facing a yard and the window was permanently blind-folded. Single rooms were apparently not located towards the cathedral but the room I got was typical 50-euro room. Some of the staff was polite, except for a male receptionist calling my room for being 10 minutes late at check-out. I had to carry down all my bags myself. And I'm especially dissapointed with the treatment I had from a young lady with dark hair in the reception when checking out: First when I had the bill I was looking for my credit card in one of my bags and she enterrupted me saying "Excuse me" as if I wasn't going to pay or something. Afterwards I retracted my credit card from their machine too quickly, but instead of telling me to keep the card in the machine for longer she said out loud in the reception that there was a problem with my credit card. Again suggesting I was not able to pay the bill.

The window outside dense well off. Unfortunately, comes the noise from inside of the hotel. The walls are very thin. I often felt that the neighbors would be with us in the room. Defective, that the hotel has a computer with Internet access available. The breakfast room is uncomfortable. Every time if a staff to the door — and goes out, makes the door Päng! It does not makes sense, why no regional yoghurts are raised but 0815-Danone yoghurts. The eggs are already cold from the kitchen. The staff is fairly nice, but people of the frustration in the face is written to work at the front desk. So for the high price, I think only the colon.
