Stunning hotel in the best location in San Sebastián. Impeccable service. We had an impromptu overnight stay in San Sebastián and they provided exquisite toiletries and even dog bowls and a comfy bed for our poodle Kopi who was traveling with us!

This hotel is simply awesome! The hotel’s interior is stunning and reflects the charm of the old time luxury with a modern twist. The location is just a few minutes away from the old quarters and the restaurants. The rooms are very high standard and valet parking is a big plus.

From beginning to end, absolutely superb service, location, staff, thoroughly enjoyed it, there is no other place for me to stay in San Sebastián.

I just went for coffee. No comment. Excellent and classic hotel with exquisite attention. As soon as I have time I stay for a weekend and count more.

This hotel shines in its elegance. The hotel is very well appointed with artwork galore. From the lobby to the rooms everything is done well. The rooms are large with high ceilings and some rooms have small balconies. The bathrooms are equally as large with a separate tub and shower. I found the service to be exquisite. If given the option between points and breakfast go for the opulent breakfast featuring customized omelets and muliple other stations.

This is one of the best hotels, great service, friendly staff, wonderful cosmetics in the rooms, delicious breakfasts.

We loved the hotel, from the impressive public spaces to the elegantly decorated and spacious rooms. The staff were attentive and willing to please. The view from our room was the cherry on the cake. I have no doubt I will want to stay here again, should I come back to San Sebastián!

Arrived and there was a problem with my room, so as a good will gesture I was offered the Betty Davies suite, all to myself. The hotel itself is very grand, and the staff that run the hotel are absolutely excellent, warm and friendly, and I advise anyone who stays to make a friend of the staff, as a little local knowledge can go along way, and new friends are always welcome.

The hotel is spectacular. The fair organization. I think if you have an event that congregates more than 100 people, there should be a signposting at the entrance indicating the location of the event.

Top hotel with high feel-good factor, absolutely 5 stars we stayed for one night at the beautiful hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastián, or as the Basques say Donostia housed. The hotel is truly a 5-star hotel. But nothing works. One feels humanly professionally and friendly loosely treated. That's very pleasant. In other 5-star hotels You often feel you should behave like a museum. Not here. The facilities of the hotel and the rooms can be described as luxurious. Normal rooms almost resemble a suit. Everything was thought of. The hotel is also beautifully situated between the river "Urumea" and the Altstatt. It is also close to the sea. Diagonally opposite, on the other side of the river, lies the famous Kursaal, where the annual film festival takes place. The hotel is really recommended.

Exceptional execution of executive elegance. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Beds were large and comfortable. The towel racks were heated, need I saw more?

Luxury with capital letters. The flagship of glamour in Donostia. Despite having more than a century of life, the hotel was refurbished a couple of years ago, and now its appearance is unbeatable. Your breakfast is the best in the city and during the film festival is the place to see all the artists. A place to live the history and rest.

This hotel might have been the most amazing hotel we have ever stayed at. I cant even begin to describe all of the amazing things that were part of this experience. One word of caution if they help you make reservations some restaurants in the area (Michelin Stars) may charge you if you have to cancel the reservation.

If 6 stars were possible, I would give them! What a beautiful hotel and what an amazing service from start to finish! From the moment we arrived in our car, tired from a long trip, everything run so smoothly. Personnel was so friendly and all went the extra mile. The hotelroom was bigger than my first apartment and so clean and all kinds of extra amenities. Dinner in the Asian restaurant was delicious and breakfast more than you could wish for! This hotel knows what 'service' is. An absolute 6-star hotel!

I have only been to the cafeteria, great, beautiful, very comfortable seats, the service of the bartenders genial look like customers, of immaculate and modern costume, the Extensisima letter of teas, cafes, waters. 15 Euros a cubata and 5 a coffee. It's worth knowing.

Stunning historic property with every modern convenience. I can't say enough about the wonderful service. Make sure you stop and see Alex at the bar (let him take the wheel. ) Get the pintxos list from the Concierge and ask Stefania if you need dinner recs. If you have to pick one Michelin to eat at while there, I rec Asador Extebarri. If I have to choose one pintxo bar, I can't: go to San Telmo and SiriMiri for food and Atari for drinks.

Amazing wedding venue. All of the hotel staff was incredibiliy accommodating. The views from outside the balcony during sundown were breathtaking and added another layer of elegance to the wedding.

Great located in the city center of San Sebastián. We were in a wedding and the food was delicious, even if the waitting times between dishes was a bit slow… but the quality of the food worth it :) All staff was helpfull all the time and I felt as they enjoyed working in this amaizing place!

Hotel Maria Cristina is an amazing place to hqve some drinks. The attention the waiters give you is as great as it corresponds to the 5 star hotel the bar is in. The price, of course is quite high, but it's worth it for the delicious drinks and the quality of service given.

The only 5-star hotel in San Sebastian, it was originally the home of Queen Maria Cristina (1882-1902). It retains bullet damage from the 1932 civil war, and has one wing that became private residences when the owners had to raise money during a financial crisis. It has the Michelin Star restaurant Helene Darroze where food and wine will cost €150 and up per person.

Simply the best! Best room, best breakfast, best staff, best view and location, best bed and pillows, best city! We loved every minute of our stay in San Sebastian at the Maria Cristina.

A fine mix between Faulty towers and what I would guess is luxury by Donald Trumph. Only been in the bar, twice. They do their best to appear upper class, but seem a bit to clumsy to play out the act. Don't misunderstand. It is an extremely kind, warm and accessible posh bar for normal folks. I highly recommend it, but it also puts a smile on your face because of the above. Ordered a GT based on Monkey 47. The waiter poured 20% of the bootle in my glass, so even with the price off €17 it was good value.

From time to time, my wife and I decide that we deserve the best weekend possible. In order to reach our goal, we thought of the perfect combination of city and lodging.
Now, once concluded our stay in Maria Cristina, we can say we have enjoyed every second in there, from the first step at the entrance stair, up to the warm farewell of the receptionist.
Perfection exists, and you only have to travel to San Sebastian to get closer to it …

We only visited for coffee and drinks, so my impressions are limited, but I can say it's one of the most impressive hotels we've visited, with excellent decor, good drinks and great service. The building, too, is historic and beautiful.

Excellent. I don't give many "5"s, this deserved it. Beautiful building, great location, excellent staff/service, awesome room (caveat: was upgraded to suite), excellent breakfast. Highly recommended. Stayed two nights in April 2016, and I travel a lot.

We went for a drink and we were told that the bar was full. Chance, it coincided with the time that FC Barcelona was to leave the hotel and wanted to prevent intruders. Later we returned and there was no problem to enter. We went to the cocktail bar to try one of the creations of Javier de las Muelas and ended up with a cocktail of the most mediocre, prepared by hands nothing professional, and priced top (15 euros). They have to do is look without a doubt, and caution Javier de las Muelas, not go to see damaged its image by leaving his business in the hands of any.

Turns out that today Saturday 9th of 2016 comes to mind spending has visit the hotel bar for cocktail us after eating. What is our surprise, the buttons tell us that the bar is full lol. Barca was hosted in the hotel and about to go out into the field. Good way to repel customers, I love this policy. That will not return this course, or to the bar, and much less has to stay.

5 Stars for the only 5 star hotel of the city. Regardless of the price, the hotel is gorgeous inside and is brilliantly maintained.

Its interiors have a design marked by the traditional fusionandolo with the functionality and the current design. Your employees stand out for their elegance and sympathy. It is not surprising that it is the hotel of choice for celebrities during the film festival of San Sebastian.

The rooms are amazing, the food is great and there is a culinary school where you can get hands-on experience with Spanish cuisine!

Perfect all-the only flaw is that in a place as beautiful as San Sebastian talk so much shit of dead language like basque.

This place is so lovely. The lobby is gorgeous. The room was very spacious. Loved the bathroom, which had a shower and bath, as well as multiple finishing touches which made you feel like you were getting 5 star treatment. The bed was very comfortable. We had a great view of the courtyard and city. It was rainy when we were in San Sebastian, so we spent a great amount of time in the room but with absolutely no complaints! read less.
