Nice Hotel with Character; Great Staff, Great Location; Awful Beds Location: Right in the heart of San Sebastian on the beach front, about half way between the 2 mountains to each side of the bay. Easy walking to the old town, shopping streets and right on the beach. On the Beach: Superb sandy beach with cleanliness second to none. Popular but not too busy during the day. High tide makes some it a little smaller but plenty of space with well defined swimming areas and diving platforms. Hotel Amenities: Loan bikes available to book. Restaurant and bar (both serving meals). Both are very popular so book if you want a table. We found the casual tables by the bar were available if you get there early enough. Loan umbrellas for the odd rainy day. Lobby area contains large TV and seating for relaxing in. Doubles up as a sort of lounge for the hotel. Rooms Air con in some rooms — check if important. The room to the rear we had was conditioned and it was needed. Decent size but European standards with very generous toiletries and towels in bathroom. TV had a small selection of cable channels but not many in English. Possible to cast to the TV from your tablet/laptop if you take a dongle. Clean and well presented, with a small balcony (not usable). Front rooms have views over the beach and sea. No working safe in the room — had to use the reception safety deposit boxes. No coffee or tea making facilities in our room.

Las habitaciones individuales están enfrente del ascensor, que al ser Viejo hacia mucho ruido en toda la noche, además la habitación tamaño ratonera que al abrir la ventana daba un hueco cerrado de columna, pensaba que entraba en una habitación bunker.
No se como serán las otras habitaciones pero no recomiendo para nada las Singles.
El Hotel ante todo debe ser un lugar para descansar pero por el ruido del ascensor toda la noche, no he podido Descansar ㅠ ㅠ single room was awakened by the old elevator in front of the night, the room was too small, the window was also open to the chimney, so I felt like sleeping in a bunker, other rooms do not know, this hotel is a single room, absolutely no publish sleep is recommended.

The best location in San Sebastian.

A lovely preserved hotel overlooking the spectacular La Concha. It is one of only a couple of hotels which are actually overlooking the beach We had a great few days here. We had two rooms. Room 52 which had windows overlooking the beach, room 62 which had a narrow balcony.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nice old hotel perfectly located. When booking ask for a room with sea view because the street side could be noisy.

Good atmosphere, in front of the Playa de la Concha and with good views. I miss the elevator… but everything else, fine.

The old-fashioned charm of an old but comfortable hotel with a date deco, but in excellent condition. The elevator is an experience!
Good breakfast in the hotel bar which enjoys a privileged view of the beach of La Conche. Magnificent!

Hotela Niza, San Sebastian, was all that other reviewers said, but for us the stay was intolerable because of the stench of strong cheap perfumes of the cleaning products. I coughed continually, night and day, despite keeping room windows open, refusing room service, and using a wet mask as we hurried through the public areas. Reception took no notice when we told them about the problem. This fault could be easily remedied.

Perfect location on La Concha. Clean and accommodating with nice bedding. The restaurant was fantastic for all meals. And the room rate was very fair.

Great location, very helpful staff, very nice people, great restaurant, room are nice and comfy, I guess in Europe boutique hotel like this rooms are small, I'm happy with comfy bed, but spacious wise is bit tiny, the old elevator is nice but in the morning when everyone getting out it was bit noisy. But only few days stay that was ok. I definitely will return, is just the best location, right in front of the beach. Nothing more need to say.

Great accommodation. Room had a balcony and plenty of space. The hotel is right by the beach. Although the elevator and stairs in the hotel were dated, the hotel was nice.

Quaint little hotel. No mini bars or ice. Open frame elevator through the stairwell. Carpet is a bit worn.

The hotel is perfectly located on the beautiful La Concha beach, near the centre of San Sebastian. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and quaint. See facing rooms have spectacular views.

The cleaning of the room is terrible we found dirt in them baths and lint by all the room.
Morning we said at the reception that it was dirty and they told us that we would solve it and when we arrived the evening the receptionist asked if they had cleaned and fixed the problem in the room was a poorly educated. And besides all this went up to the room and remained without be clean.

The best hotel in San Sebastian. Small and family but located in the middle of the paseo de la Concha. Breakfast in it is a luxury overlooking la Concha.

When I booked the Niza hotel, judging by the photos and appearance of the website, as well as the cost, I was expecting 5 star luxury, only to arrive and find a three star, dingy place. The place is old and dated and definitely needs a complete refurbishment. I wouldn't be surprised if the carpets haven't been changed since the 60s! Not only this, but the staff were miserable and unaccomodating. To top it all off the room smelt of smoke and the bed and bath were too small to fit a child! And that is no exaggeration — the bath was less than a meter in length and being 6' 3'', my feet were hanging off the end of the bed. We stayed for the first night because it was too late to find anywhere else, but switched to a nice modern hotel not too far away the next day, it's called the Astoria and although it is not on the beach, it's far superiour to the Niza.

Delightful little hotel, room facing the beautiful bay was clean and plenty spacious enough. Beds comfortable, room warm and we needed when the snow arrived! Strange to see a white beach. Ideal with the underground parking. Staff charming, helpful and spoke English. Fantastic restaurant along the road 'La Perla' — don't be fooled by the bar area, it's really classy in the main restaurant but doesn't open until 9pm — well worth the wait. Would visit again, both hotel and eatery.
