The best guest house of my life. A true definition of home away from home, with the welcoming air of Gwangju, the city of light.

Visited 14th — 16th June 2018. Pedro is a wonderfully colourful character who is very friendly. The Voyager Cafe is very thematic and pleasant and the guesthouse itself similarly follows the theme of exploration. Plenty of books to read, good spacious accommodation and very healthy breakfast (I never thought I'd eat a salad with balsamic vinegar with a banana and a yoghurt but it works really well! ). 5 Stars because, despite the air conditioning failed to work, the supplementary fan at the base of the bunk bed sufficed. Will choose again next time I visit Gwangju!

1. The door is too dark, please turn on the light or set up lighting to avoid night risk
2. Recommended winter or early spring can separately warm
3. Soundproofing is slightly less good.

I was recommended this place but it was a big disappointment. I was not there when I arrived and his other staff could not speak two words of English. They didn’t even know which room I had booked. It was really a bad experience, they could not explain/recommend anything. The breakfast should be from 9-10.30 (which is already super late). I was there at 9.10 and it was totally empty. I wanted to make a trip that day so it was important I eat fast and leave. Towards 9.15 a lady comes with three bags and says in really broken English that she can start prepare breakfast. I was trying to tell her I need to eat fast but she didn’t understand a thing. Pedro arrived 5 min afterwards. I payed for my room an european price — 50 E pp. I expect at least the reception to speak one word English and that breakfast starts when it writes it starts. The rooms were quite old and I really didn’t notice anything charming about the hostel. The location is not great, but Gwangju is anyway spread around. I would recommend though taking a place closer to bus/train station.

Super friendly and helpful owner and staff. The room was clean, spacious and nice. The location was quiet but easy to get into the busy places of the city. Overall, one of the better places I've stayed and hope to be back one day.

Pedro's place is a wonderful place for a nice relaxing drink or a great place to stay.

Best coffee in town, you should visit the voyager coffee. Sometimes they have cinema evenings.

Cosy place; somewhat cramp though.

Friendly owner nice rooms and cafe if your thinking of staying here it's fairly convenient as it's a 5 minute taxi ride to downtown and the club district.

Very hospitable place to visit and a lot of stuff to see and eat close-by. Only a few minutes away from the subway and you can also take the bus to the national park a few blocks away.

Very home-like place and the host is nice and helpful. Recommend to stay here when you are in Gwangju.

A place I would like to call as home… a very nice place n excellent helpful host… its good to know such a nice host like pedro. I would like to recommend this place if you're looking for a place to stay in gwangju…
