We camped one night, enjoyed it so much, so we when back for another, two days, bird lovers paradise. Host is great people.

Camping right the Gourits River with wonderful views. Despite being completely booked out, our hosts went out of their way to accommodate us & make us feel welcome. Campsite is clean, tidy, and does not have excessive amounts of people. Allowing for a proper peaceful nature experience. River is fantastic to fish & swim in. Surrounding game farms are fun activities (we had a wonderful siting of lions directly on the neighbouring fence). Recommended.

Ryna and Kosie are farmers and also a very good hosts. Ask Ryna to cook a real Afrikaner food! Go around farm with Kosie! Glamping is modern and relaxing — you can see the sky fool of stars from veranda in the evening. Enjoy in peace for a few days!

We received excellent service. Camping grounds were in immaculate condition. They made us feel like family. Enjoyed the stay very much. Did not want to leave. Would recommend them to everybody.

What a pleasant surprise! Very different to what we expected from looking on the website — very rustic and raw. However we toured around south Africa for 3 months and camping at Gouritz River Lodge was one of my absolute favourite! Ablutions are clean, sites are neat and the hosts are fantastic! Unfortunately with the drought the river is dry otherwise we would've stayed longer. But we will definitely be back! Nicci.

If you want to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time on a working eco farm, this is the place. At night you can hear the owls and other nightlife with an awesome star studded sky. Cannot wait for my next visit.

Absolutely beautiful. Wonderful owners. Peaceful. Beautiful views. Fantastic accommodation. Be warned, the road is rough but so totally worth it! Brings lots of wood for the fire. Expec5 to stay and don't want to go to town daily. Excellent for getting away but not too far away. I want to stay forever …

We had such a great stay. Especially the hosts were remarkable. They welcomed us warmly and taking the best care of us!

What a great time we had at Gourits Eco Camping. Camping site is well set out and clean, amenities are also well set out and clean. Camp site is not overcrowded at all, so a welcome break from civilisation. Amazing view of the mountain with great bird watching opportunities. Being a dog friendly establishment is an absolute bonus for us as we always take our dogs on holiday with us. Koosie is a great host who is friendly and takes time to come around for a chat and share a drink. We will definitely go back and visit again.

Very nice and beautiful. The silence and clear skies at night made it absolutely amazing. Long walks next to the river are great and very interesting places to see. The ablution facilities are great and make you feel like you are one with nature. Wood and ice can be bought on the farm and it is great value for money. I will visit again when I have a different vehicle than an Audi A4 because of the road. It was able to handle the road but it is not made for it.

Very nice place campsite, clean, green grass, shade and river to swim in. The most amazing part of staying there was that at night there are very few lights on (only when someone goes to shower/toilet and from other campsites), but after a while there were no lights on at all, which means that watching the stars is absolutely AMAZING! It's not often you find yourself in an area with no light and a sky so amazing! Head torches were fine in the evening, not need for big gas lamps etc. Rather enjoy light from the fire and the quiet, calm evenings. Hosts were excellent. Got ice from them which helped keep meat cold.
