Terrible service and awful staff.

The most amazing experience! staff were super friendly and helpful. Room 19 was amazing and we had such good nights rest. Breakfast was to die for and filled us up for the day. All in all the 2 nights were spectacular and we will certainly be back. If I could give 10 out of 5 I would. We wouldn't have changed a thing.

Absolutely stunning location and lovely people.

Lovely location, outstanding food, dog friendly… potential to be a wonderful stay. Room was absolutely appalling, next to a blocked sewer line, no windows or extractors in bathroom so room stays damp. But worst was the condition of decor — walls had paint peeling and bubbling from damp, place stank from damp, ceilings were black with mildew. Door couldn’t open and close due to damp. Appalling!

The rooms were quaint and comfy and the staff super friendly. The restaurant was amazing and the owner just lovely. We enjoyed everything we ate.

Thank you to the friendly staff, especially Ronen. For the warm welcome. Breakfast was just so nice. The place is very nice. Will definitely come again with my family.

Staff are friendly, the vibe is relaxing and the views are amazing. Dogs are allowed. All in all an amazing experience.

The Hostess Shana was absolutely everywhere and assisted us with every need. She certainly can run this hotel on her own.

It’s only day 1, but the staff is warm and friendly, room is clean and comfy, lots to see around in the hotel just greaty.

My wife & I stayed in upper cottage overlooking the lagoon, we love the old fashioned-castiron fire place, we use it every night. The location is great, the service is breakfast shockingly poor. The lady manager is a monster in disguise…

Went for Fathers Day lunch and experienced very bad service. Was told they were under staffed. The food was tasty but waited far to long for our lunch.

Overrated, overpriced. Maintenance and cleanliness sorely lacking. Training of staff desperately needed from cleaners up. Have many complaints/suggestions but will convey these directly to hotel. Left with a feeling of bitter disappointment. Interesting that it has a 4* rating — do these ratings get checked regularly? Stayed in room No. 5 for nights 22/23/24 March 2019.

Hotel one must be very careful what rooms you are booking. Their penthouse rooms (room no 23 and 24) are absolutely disappointing the bedroom has small windows facing a tall wall… You may land up feeling claustrophobic there. More disappointment is from the people attending you at the reception as they are not friendly and was not much concerned with our problems! Beautiful place with no hospitality at all.

Lovely cosy setting, antique collection is interesting and sets the atmosphere and experience. Views across the lagoon are spectacular any time of day. The hotel is a great base for holidays and excursions like the flower season. The food here can be fantastic 1 week and mediocre the next and the reason for the 3 star rating. Service is usually good particularly from the 2 supervisors Daleen and Andy not always from management. I have never stayed in the hotel but friends were very happy, I eat at the hotel regularly as it is next door to me.

The views are unbelievable! Their collection of antiques are something special. Family friendly restaurant and pets are welcome too. Food is a bit pricey if you pay in Rands, but the quality of the food is above average. You will LOVE the view and therefore it is an excellent dining experience and well worth a visit when you are in the West Coast.

I used to rate the farm house 5 star but at our last visit. The service and food were not great. They had a lot of maintenance work going on. We were woken up by painters bashing a wall in front of our room. I have been visiting the farm house every year for the last 10 years and we did not enjoy our stay this year. I am not sure if we will go back.

My family's first stay this past weekend and it won't be our last. The staff is what makes the stay even more special. Always smiling and willing to help with anything. Food is great and the rooms and views are amazing too. I would highly recommend giving this charming little gem a try!

The best place to enjoy a fabulous view over the lagoon. Had such a delicious lunch there today of fresh fish and their signature chicken pie. Excellent service and friendly Langebaan hospitality — A must visit when you’re in Langebaan.

I have tried numerous times to book at the Farmhouse for breakfast or lunch but were disappointed every time. They do not take external bookings if the rooms are full… now as far as I am aware they have about 15 rooms but have a restaurant that can seat about 100 people at least? Surely if they employ more waiting and kitchen staff they can only benefit by filling the restaurant with external guests?

The rooms are beautiful and it has a great view of the sea. Breakfast was good but the restaurant at night rather not recommended, but there are some very good alternatives in walking distance.

The view is breathtaking absolutely love the place. Unfortunately the food was a disappointment, the fish was a disaster and the chicken was very dry. We will not take our overseas friends and family for lunch ever again. Change the chef before it is too late shame on such a nice hotel

Lovely place to stay. Comfortable, spacious rooms, amazingly fast Wifi (uncapped! ) and a nice swimming pool. The food at the restaurant was good. Breakfast was also nice, just the service for early risers wasn't the best. Will definitely stay there again, next time we come to the West Coast.

I’m always finding myself on the stoep soaking in the view of the lagoon. Been there 3 days ago, used the morning coffee fix as an excuse to visit. Home, feels even more so during winter months when the fireplaces are lit and cracking away.

Probably the most ridiculous service I have ever experienced at a restaurant! Drove about an hour and a half specifically to visit this place, didn’t even last 20 minutes.
Decided to sit in the lounge area about 20 steps away from the dining area. We were told that we couldn’t get served because we are not in the right area, it would get cold and it was too quiet there so we would be forgotten by the waitress (whaaaaat? ).
Family that I was with previously sat in the same area and it wasn’t a problem.
So you guys lost out on 4 people eating with drinks cause yourl were too lazy to walk an extra 20 steps in the other direction. Stupidest experience ever, couldn’t believe it. Maybe cause we were the only ones of color?

Probably the worst meal we've eaten in a very long time. The location is amazing, the only waiter (Andrew) was great and very attentive but the food that was served to us was no better than eating at a roadside cafe. We originally ordered the seafood platter to start, it came without the advertised prawns and when we asked where they were we were told they'd run out and we'd been given more fish, the rest of the platter was almost inedible, luke warm mussels, overcooked calamari and a huge amount of rice and sweetcorn (for a starter? ). We asked them to take it back and were given a plate of luke warm mussels and slightly less overcooked calamari. The main course consisted of a tasteless lamb shank, and a very watery fillet steak which felt like it had just been defrosted. When we asked why the food was so bland we were told they had big staff issues, only one chef on (not the main one) and the Financial controller of the hotel was acting as the "restaurant manager" but as they were so short staffed was in the kitchen the whole time helping the chef plate the food. The place seems to have serious staffing issues and are hoping their customers don't notice. They did offer some discount to us on the bill, but when you're looking forward to a great night out with good food and wine it was a massive disappointment. I would highly recommend not going here to eat, grab a drink here and enjoy the sunset before you head somewhere else to eat.

Intersting decor, great ambience. Amazing views. High tea NOT consistent. Scones are really great but not all the time.

The second time (Mothers day) not so much with long delays waiting for food which was not cooked so well. We did however, get a small bottle of sparkling wine on the house as compensation and an apology from the manager on duty for the delay.

Breakfast was included. It was a variety breakfast. Which is nice. The beds are awesome. The water pressure is good. TV is a bit on the tiny side… Okay, a lot on the tiny side. Good views. Good food. Good people. Good vibes.

It was a lovely stay. Cosy fireplace, comfortable king size bed with clean, crisp white linen and a view over Langebaan Lagoon to die for! We will be back, for sure!

Good experience in 2012! // We didn't have too good an experience in the restaurant at the start of 2011: ended up begging for service. Also, the veggies weren't what we expected. Not sure if the Langebaan power failure affected what veggies they could prepare, but then they should've mentioned it. Salad was a better choice of side dish.
