We Booked Iftaar to celebrate my Dad 70th Birthday and the staff was friendly, assistance was great especially since my Dad wheelchair bound, Food was Delicious, Excellent services 💯🇿🇦

A lovely stay and the most friendly, attentive and helpful staff we have encountered during our recent trip to Cape Town! The highlight was that the chefs bent over backwards to accommodate my vegan lifestyle and served better vegan food than many vegan restaurants I have eaten at. A big thumbs up!

We booked dinner, the food was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful, we will definitely go back.

Covid 19 is not exactly time to recommend or evaluate any place. During the short stay (24 hours) all I can say is that hospitality was excellent, food is served in room because of C-19, no buzz, but good location and many things on walking distance. No comments on prices as it was arranged by the company.

The hotel is nice and friendly staff, and I'm all about supporting local tourism and hotels in this pandemic but to my horrific discovery I found a baby cochroach walking on the bed. Not a nice thing to see especially when you just wake up. I took pics if you want to see it.

I made reservations for buffet supper on my birthday to arrive at the Hotel to find out the serving a set menu and no1 made the effort to let me know. Not nice especially when you invited some people.

My review is only on the food as I did not stay at the Hotel. The food was very bland to put it in a nice way and variety of the buffet was limited. I wasted every single thing that I tried and left hungry. My family and I were expecting much much more from a 4 star Hotel that charges R190 per person. Unfortunately we will not return to the Capetonian for a meal.

Thank you for an awesome dining experience at the Capetonion! We will definitely be back again for an overnight stay! The newly renovated rooms are an authentic work of art with "Bo Kaap" mural above the bed celebrating a magical part of Cape Town history! Very refreshing.

Very old hotel, no upgrades have been done. Everything is just old. The name Capetonian hotel does not suit this so called hotel. This is a motel. Only good thing about it is that it is situated in foreshore very beautiful place with views of table montain and Victoria and Alfred Mall. (waterfront).

was there for lunch yesterday … will never put my foot in there again and will never recommend the buffet to anyone.

Had my wedding there almost four years ago. Always go back for lunches with my Mrs. We received and still receive excellent service. No complaints from us.

Food was nice but not really warm. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

I took my wife for an evening there to have Iftaar. The soup was so salty it spoiled the rest of the evening. Tea and coffee us extra and not part of the meal. Overpriced. 2star but charges 4star prices.

Birthday dinner for R250 a head. As a vegetarian, all I could eat were mixed vegetables, roasted potatoes and mac 'n cheese. Plain old coffee and tea to end off the meal. One jug of juice and one Appetiser bottle per table of six, no refills. Water from a dispenser, not even bottled. The staff were very cheerful and friendly, five stars for them. However, it's obvious the boss wants to keep all the profits firmly in hand, scuse the pun.

Nice hotel I stay there many times, food was also good, all food are halal so there is no problem for muslim, it may not be the best but this hotel rooms provide quite good view of table mountain, its also near to water front.

Nice variety at breakfast and very fresh. Very enjoyable visit.

Good halaal buffet. While the food looks simple it is really tasty. The meat was juicy and tender, the roast potatoes crispy. I'm not usually a buffet fan however the food was good. The cakes for dessert were soft and tasty. Difficult to find on Google maps.

Well located and staff are helpfull. The hotel just needs a bit of maintenance TLC to get it back up to standard.

The rooms were a bit old, the carpets had burns on and paint was flaking off in places. The amount of water the toilets waste is incredible. But it is well situated, and the staff are great.

Don t get fooled by theoutdated outside. Rooms are huge with great bed and superb towels comfortable work living room area and amazing view if table mountain across the road from convention center and regular shuttles to the V&A waterfront. Excellent breakfast a d efficient and friendly staff.

Very good location, shopping centre and enough of items and food and other ancillaries. Am sure one of the places needs to be seen with the ocean in front it is a good point to visit. Also on way several other landmark building worth seeing so do visit and have some souveniers of S Africa.

The rooms are bad, dirty corridors, in the corridors saw cockroaches, the staff are normal friendly, food for the European will go.

There should be something less than O stars if I have to give any stars to this place. My colleague and I were booked in this place (I cant even call it a hotel), on our arrival at our floor we were confronted by an extremely filthy carpet on the passageway that leads to the room. The rooms smelt mouldy and the dinner was so horrible, we slept very badly because the place looked so dirty. In the morning we went for breakfast only to be confronted by dinner leftovers as be=breakfast. There was even rice to crown it all. We checked out the following day and we were never even asked why we checked out. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

I was very impressed by the set up and the staff. They friendly and made us feel at home. They are well organised.

Lovely Buffet almost Daily.

Room smells like mold. Two dining rooms. The one on the ground floor is Halal. Fine. We are then told that the one on the second floor is closed because it is booked for a private function. No problem, we will not have wine tonight. We ask for a coke. There is no coke left. We then order two bottles of still water. The waitress comes back with one 500ml bottle only. “I am sorry but that’s all we have left! ” Seriously? On a Monday? That claims to be a 4 stars hotel.

Hotel in town with good on a bit of noise following the orientation of the room. Personally I was very well installed on the top floor with terrace and view of the Table Mountain.

Elevators broken down or run down (surcharge…) Clean but dilapidated rooms.

Not baby friendly if you going for lunch at the restaurant. No high chairs available and also no nappy changing facilities.

Set up and menu was too old school for me. Buffet was not the best quality. More of a B&B standard.

Lunch buffet on a Sunday was delicious. Tastes just like homemade.

We were there for our school's end of term staff function. Great service, friendly staff! Even added ice cream to the buffet after I only commented that it would have been nice to have some. Only thing missing was steak knives and maybe a mug for coffee. Small cups are for tea. I'll be back!

One word … Horrible! I won't ever go back nvm recommend your duty manager needs people skills… and Chef needs to check the food before sending it out… as for your carving station pretty boring shit dry tasteless meat and chicken really? it was under cooked damn you for representing our city The Capetonian must fall.

I would honestly give this hotel 0 stars. I stayed there two three nights and two days with my family. Hotel gave us a deluxe room and the size of the room wasn't bad at all. But we found cockroaches in the room — about 6 of them. Then we complained at the reception and they send someone to remove the cockroaches and assigned us another deluxe room on a different floor and guess what? — there were cockroaches there as well. On top of that breakfast menu was ridiculously bad. Hotel staff was good, but again bed bugs and roachers is definitely a no no for any hotel. Bugs, mold, bad smelly carpet, old air conditioning system, old furniture, even the gallery seem as if it will fall any time. Worst hotel I ever stayed at — period.

Working girls prowl the bar area, and swarm around if you take out your wallet. I'd keep clear or never carry a wallet in this place.

The ambiance was pleasant. The buffet was good even though the roast was a bit tough, but that is my opinion. The staff excelled by being very helpful and friendly. When time for prayer arrived we left our meal to perform our obligatory duty. We were escorted to where the praying area was situated. What a disappointment. The prayer room smelled of mold. The carpets were dirty. The curtains did not match and hanged lopsided. There was an old broken couch at the ladies side, and it looks like it was just dumped there. Needless to say I was embarrassed. I am just so grateful that I went to see the praying area first, before I subjected my entire family to such an embarrassment. Our prayers means everything to us, and one sincere prostration from a worshipper would be more valuable than all the wealth the hotel could ever acquire.

This is not a 4 star hotel. Staff are indeed friendly, but the hotel is designed for mass processing (travel group).
It comes too late for breakfast, you only get what's left.

Cheap accommodation. Staff were friendly. The hotel itself was not deserving of 4 stars.
