The best place on Earth. Shayne thank you so much for organizing everything for us. You really are a Gem and this place is breath taking.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed, comfortable & at peace 😊 Our cottage was absolutely gorgeous, clean and cozy & we appreciated all the little details such as the beautifully folded toilet paper and towel with gorgeous fresh flowers 💐We also appreciated the bed heaters, the candles in the bathroom, the wood by the fire place, the weber and everything that made our stay extra special. We also thought the information flip file is a great idea 👌and so extra special that the family and staff have such big hearts in helping rehabilitate and find forever homes for so many fur baby rescues from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia 🥰 After meeting Keenan, Shayne and the staff, we could see how genuinly helpful, warm and friendly they all are. Thank you Otters Den team for the outstanding hospitality and for making our stay absolutely magical. We loved waking up to that breath taking view every morning and we thoroughly enjoyed having a picnic down by the river. We honestly did not want to leave. But we will most certainly be back.

It has a beautiful stream at the bottom of the chalets, so much nature and views. Really beautiful.

Our weekend away at Otters Den was, without a doubt, an unforgettable experience. We arrived in the afternoon to a clean and hospitable cottage, every detail was thought about and executed with great care. The sheets and towel were freshly cleaned and soft. The bathroom and kitchen was immaculate, and each detail was set up easy to find/use. They also offer room service every morning so that you don’t have to worry about cleaning on your break. The website was very helpful in knowing what each cottage has. The cottages also overlook the river that runs at the bottom of the property, a breath-taking scene. We were even fortunate enough to spot a buck grazing at river the one morning, apparently a fairly common sight.
The first evening that we were there, I was able to enjoy a lovely bubble bath that overlooked the view, while my soon-to-be fiancé and the Otters Den family set up the most romantic proposal that I could have dreamed of. Otters Den went above and beyond for our moment, they had organised all the decorations and gifts that went with the proposal; they had brought through tons of candles, fresh flowers, gift baskets, chocolates, champagne, and some decorations. They also delivered these all to the cottage discretely, without my knowledge and had set up a fire in the fireplace for us to light (they also offered to light it for us). They honestly did anything and everything in their power to make the moment and weekend as magical as possible.

Fantastically enjoyable and totally worth returning to. We are a very fussy couple but Ottersden and Family and resident cute animals really made a Huge impact in our stay.

We had such an awesome time at Otters Den. Jeff and Alice are absolutely lovely and make you feel very welcome. Elizabeth made sure our units had clean towels and bedding daily and if we were out for the evening she made sure the electric heater was on to warm the room. The units are equipped with everything you need for a weekend away (or longer) ; electric heaters, stove (no oven), spa bath, big shower, electric blankets, coffee, tea, yummy cookies and a braai. Of course there is also the stunning view. Would love to come back again. God bless!

Otters's den is located on a a wonderful hill overlooking the lion's River. The views and bield life are amazing and the owners are lovely and helpful. We only stayed one night but will be staying for a prolonged period especially over the rainy season.

Beautiful stay! Lovely owners… A must visit. Ps: (jacuzzi in bedroom) overlooking a beautiful lush forest!. (Copper cottage) Major plus: a river just a walk below… For a quiet picnic or sundowners.
